@bobagurl2017 no problem to change to Saturday, but it is the only day of the week where you cannot be late! Great job on the steps - love those numbers.3
-
I'm just about to crawl into bed for my last night in France. It will feel good to get back home tomorrow, even though it will be a 30 hour day.
Here are my steps for the week:
Sunday - 10,086
Monday - 11,616
Tuesday - 12,406
Wednesday - 12,343
Thursday - 11,984
Friday - 12,934
Saturday - 15,495
I like this staying so many steps from where I am working - and having no car!6 -
Back to the reminders:
Due Monday:
@CarolAnnM2
@MoonlitMuse
Off into week 4! I can't believe that it will be November soon...2 -
Hi WA's you have a new member joining you for November....Please welcome @BeeHapppy1015
-
@BeeHapppy101 Welcome! I know the November challenge does not officially begin until Sunday, but you are welcome to join in right away. Tell us a bit about yourself, and ask any questions you may have. I hope you'll enjoy the team
One thing that is good to know - you have chosen Sunday as your weigh-in day. That is the very first weigh-in day each week, so your "Week 1" weight will be posted on your first day. I know that seems weird, but I assume that your starting weight was for Sunday the 23rd, so it will really be your October final week result that you record on the 30th. If ever you want to change days, just ask here and it shall be done. Otherwise, Sundays work just fine - it is only the first one that is a bit odd...3 -

Welcome @BeeHappy101 - looking forward to getting to know you!3 -
Hi everyone! I can’t believe I have basically been out of touch this whole month and we are already looking at November.
Welcome @BeeHappy101! So glad that you have joined our team. They are an amazing bunch.
I am currently in a hotel. We broke up our 10 hour drive home. Driving in the dark, in the rain is not my vibe. So we stopped which is much less stressful to me. We should be home early afternoon today.
I feel like the trip down to see my old house somehow may have reset me. We will see. When we left in March, I was so torn about leaving. And I’ve been a bit (or a lot) off the rails and gained 20 pounds since moving. I’m hoping with the realization that we did the right in moving, I can be more settled and get some feeling of control. I am going to make a plan when I get home. I’ll be thinking about it on the drive.
Got to get moving and on the way home. More later. ❤️5 -
Hi again WA's ...You have another new member joining your wonderful team for November who requested your team .. Please welcome @DianaGetsFit5124

@BeeHappy101 @DianaGetsFit512 Welcome both, this is a great team!1

Happy Monday all!
So last week from weds-sat, me and my department traveled out of town for the Montana Diabetes Conference. Let's just say we ate well while away from home (because it's such a rarity) and I'm pretty sure I found the one good restaurant in Montana. It was this Italian place that was worth the splurge (and they may or may not have had an amazing gelaterie and bakery attached to it). So between some calorific meals and sitting for days in the car and in presentations - I'm not surprised about anything. The hotel had a teeny tiny workout room but I was just too exhausted to utilize it! Sooo....

My boys are getting ready to head back home to Ohio for a bit, so I should be able to really get back on track once they're gone and I can shop a little differently.5 -
So excited to be here!!! Let's do this!7

Welcome @BeeHapppy101 and @DianaGetsFit512!
I am having an off week this week. It's crazy, because my weight seems to be staying the same or going up, but I was able to fit in the next size down work pants today and jeans yesterday! I haven't worn these in 2 years! #NSV I wish the scale would follow suit, but it will take time. I unfortunately binged tonight, but I tracked it and am moving on. I brushed my teeth and am in bed early so I don't eat anything else in sight.6 -
Hey guys!!
My name is Diana, I am 35 years old, an optometrist and mommy to an almost 1 year old baby boy.
I'll try to keep this short as there is a lot I'd like to say lol
In summary: Pretty much my whole life I have struggled with my weight while being the only "chubby one" in my large extended family. When I started college I gained the "freshman 40"!! (I guess that is what happens when all you eat from the cafeteria is pasta and sandwiches!) During this time though, I got over my gym-phobia thanks to a fit friend of mine who made me realize that everyone at the gym was working on themselves as perfect as they may seem.
A few years later I started working out and being more mindful of my eating and dropped around 60lbs in 1 year! It was the happiest I was in my own skin. I kept most of it off for about 5 years.
Fast forward.... got married 4 years ago and had a baby almost a year ago. During the pregnancy I gained about 40lbs. I thought 1 year post partum I would be a lot closer to my pre-pregnancy weight of 203, but I'm somehow stuck around 226-222 for the last year and cannot seem to go down!
I was doing WW for a while and although it had worked for me in the past, this time around I just couldn't get my act together. I don't blame the plan, I was just eating like a butt. A few years back I had joined this challenge for a little bit and loved the community so I decided to quit WW, start calorie counting again and re-join this group. I need all the motivation I can get!
My why: I'm tired of being the fat one and now I need to be healthy for my little boy!7 -
Hi WA's.... Another new member joining your awesome team ... Please welcome @ashleydlevinson3
-
Today was a perfect day! I was up early for my workout. Getting the kids out of bed and off to school was easier said than done today. Food was good today and I hit my macros. My husband wanted fried chicken from the grocery store tonight. I just swapped out the fried chicken for a low carb chicken strip instead.
I just had my first book study meeting for the Atomic Habits book. We broke into groups of 6 for discussion so that was nice. Good conversations and nice to meet some new people.
Hope everyone had a good day.5 -
Welcome to all of our new members! This is an awesome group.2
-
Welcome @BeeHapppy101 and @DianaGetsFit512 and @ashleydlevinson - you've joined a friendly, supportive and all-round amazing group of people!
@DianaGetsFit512 I've also had success with WW before and then the more they added to it, the harder it became for me. My mindset (that I'm working on!) is very much all or nothing, so with WW I felt like if I couldn't nail the food plus the mindset plus the exercise, then why bother trying at all? I hope MFP works better for you
Had a weird 'binge' last night... I'd had my planned meals and snacks, it was getting late, and BAM I was craving salt. Unless I was having salt on a spoon, the only real option was some Doritos; everything else would need preparing at 9.30pm, so Doritos it was. I'm good at stocking the cupboards with small sweet snack options, and will have a think about savoury.
Today is my hungry day; I even had a banana before training which is unusual. It was a hard session this morning as we included squat jumps and the assault bike, so I went back to bed when I got home and then was late starting work lol. The warm-up overhead squat reps with the broom handle were the best yet, so what we're doing is working. I will adjust for my hunger by making my snacks a bit larger because it's only one day.
Last night I prepared the last harvest from the allotment - cauliflower, broccoli and peas in pods - for freezing. I blanched them, then froze them on trays and will bag them later. The cauliflower is the only thing we haven't tried yet; we have a curry recipe that uses it so I will try some in that. We (not deliberately) ended up with a purple cauliflower variety; the small heads went properly purple and blanched to blue, but the big head didn't and that has blanched to green - luckily I kept it separate from the broccoli!
Photo pre-blanching:
Tonight I plan to make a passata and a green tomato chutney, then no more tomato-ripening box with banana peels for me. I'll get some time in at the allotment, but it's getting dark at 6pm now and next week, as the clocks change on Sunday, it'll be dark when I finish work. There are a few things to do to put the allotment to bed for winter, then I'm looking forward to more time for focusing on things at home. I have my to-do list separated by room, which means it'll be really satisfying ticking things off and deleting those lists!5 -
I CANNOT believe we're already talking about November! Welcome @BeeHapppy101, @DianaGetsFit512 and @ashleydlevinson! This is a great group and no doubt you'll glean some helpful tips and strategies from the chat.
I've weighed every day this week and added it to the post-it note on the fridge door. Have had 2 moments of mindless eating (the double icecream reported earlier and then last night, who was I kidding that I could have only 1 portion of tortilla chips). Otherwise, not too bad and have been digging in to the roasted veg. And speaking of veg, @DD265 Great looking harvest!
@conleywoods Way to go on your perfect day! and @lauren_989 yay for your NSV (non-scale victory, for our new members)!
@jugar whew a 30 hour journey is no fun.
3 -
I'm home! Made it - not really a 30 hour journey, but a 30 hour day due to the 6 hour time change. I got to bed at just the right hour, and me and my melatonin had a great sleep.
I'm having a good thinking morning. This trip with 10 days of very intense activity, both mental and physical, while eating well but carefully, has gifted me a re-set, I think. Yesterday and the day before I had my 2 days of eating anything that appeared in front of me, but managed to avoid things like the large bags of peanut M&Ms at the duty free in the airport, but a lot of wonderful food and drink were consumed. I think there were about 5 actual meals in that long day yesterday.
This morning, I am absolutely pumped for a perfect day. I am meeting with a new trainer on Thursday to get some more structure in my haphazard workout habits. The first week of November I am becoming a guinea pig (no offense to your piggies @conleywoods !) for a study on memory in older people that uses some form of ketones to help the brain hang onto those things. I think those two things will help keep me on track for the next few months. Even though I have maintained quite successfully for 10 years, re-sets are needed on the regular! Inspiration fails, food is good, etc.
I also need to keep playing more. The experience of rehearsing, performing, and recording with these amazing players was beyond wonderful. More, please!!
It feels great to be home, though. And to have new WA members! @DianaGetsFit512 it is great to see you - it is quite a challenge to stick with ANY kind of program when you have a 1 year-old. Keep some flexibility in your back pocket, plan how to deal with a good variety of circumstances, and step past the crazy moments without dwelling on them.
Have a lovely Tuesday!7 -
Thank you so much @jugar !
That's my biggest struggle..I do great and then I take 5 steps back.. get upset at myself and go another 3 back
But that's the past (I feel like a broken record by the amount of times I need to say this) I'm re-setting right now!
Pre-tracking my food for today and getting a workout tonight, wish me luck :-)
Btw..I noticed as I was browsing through the teams that there are other side challenges that occur alongside... what might those be lol?? Can I join?
Lastly, so as far as this challenge all i need to do is report my weight on here on my weigh in day?3 -
Welcome new teammates @BeeHapppy101, @DianaGetsFit512 and @ashleydlevinson
I have been off the rails a bit lately and I've been binge watching too much TV so I haven't progressed on my plan to become a person who works out in the evenings.... That is going to change!
I'm determined to have a reset as well and I will have a perfect day, including logging everything for the first time in months. it's time to buckle down. the season of the weakest will power is upon us. yard work has wound down and snow removal hasn't yet begun. There's a lull in my exercise calorie deficit that can't be fluffed off. Gotta get back in the good habits now.2 -

Yeah, we're all broken records sometimes. But then we break records in the right way sometimes too!
Challenges - there are generally a few kinds going on:- There is always a full Fat2Fit group challenge happening. They change every week, so if one appeals to you, go for it. If not - it is not obligatory. You can find them under "Announcements" from the main F2F page. This week's is on emotional eating
- Here on our team, the minimum is to weigh in every week. Then on Sundays the weekly tallies are done, we see who had a great week and who didn't, celebrate the teams and individuals who showed us the way that week.
- We also have a team step/exercise challenge for anyone who loves to track. It is run by my awesome co-captain @ashleycarole86 . You can track any kind of exercise as well as steps, and she magically converts exercise minutes into steps and keeps track for us. Just post your steps and/or minutes of exercise here on the team chat thread, and she will take it from there! Some people post daily, some weekly - whatever works for you. The weeks run Sunday - Saturday.
Support - this is in most ways the most important part of what we do and why it works. Stopping by here daily really helps, so don't forget when you're having a crappy day4 -
Greetings Friends, and welcome to our newcomers - @DianaGetsFit512, @BeeHapppy101, and @ashleydlevinson. Just stopping by to say "hello".
Hubby and I got our 4th Covid shot (2nd booster) as well as our flu shots yesterday. So I got the flu shot in my right arm and the Covid shot in my left. My arms feel rather sore today, so I decided to leave off my scheduled Caroline Girvan workout (chest & triceps). I'll get back to it tomorrow.
Have a lovely evening, all!

Hi friends! 👋🏼
So happy to see you @DianaGetsFit512 ! You used to be eyesby Diana, right? Congratulations on your little guy. 🎉
I finally remembered to jump on the scale this am and was happily down a bit. I have managed to log my breakfast and lunch and prelogged some of my dinner. I’m going to do it.5 -
@jugar So glad you are home and sounds like you brought some new energy home with you as well. The piggies take no offense 😆 Piggies need daily vegetables, tons of fiber and lots of space to roam around and explore. I think you will make an excellent guinea pig for the study. I have had quite a few students with severe seizure disorders that are completely controlled by a medical ketosis diet! If ketones can have that kind of impact on their brain, I can't wait to hear more about the study. They all have feeding tubes and have no idea what bread tastes like so they are obviously very compliant with their diet.
My daughter had some sudden intense pain behind her ear and her kneck was stiff this morning. Long story short, we ended up at the pediatric ER. They eventually decided it was a muscle spasm that was just very intense. This was a relief because the urgent care was worried about something more serious, hence the ER referral. She is pain free now and I ended up just taking the whole day off.
I worked out this morning and I am really proud that I didn't go crazy and stress eat this afternoon post ER room visit.5 -

I picked up a copy of Atomic Habits from the library today. Looking forward to seeing what insights it brings.
I managed a nearly perfect day. One lindor truffle made it past my lips but I stopped at one! I also dug out the yoga mat for some ab work and dusted off the kettlebells for farmers walks during commercial breaks. Grip strength is key for waterskiing which is next summer's goal. Last year's fitness goal was to climb back on board the paddleboard, next year I will be able to water ski or else! I'm not quite ready to break out a colour-in habit tracker for my workouts but it really did work last time, so..... 😉5
