Today is a travel day for me. Bummed to be missing volunteering with my family, but they will represent! Need to leave by 10am...so going to do sunrise yoga at 7am!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Shelley, the kids have one of those beds in their room but I'm in Ronan's room with Collin...it's quieter. I have an idea for today. I was sitting at the foot of his bed, so now I'm going to arrange all his pillows at the head of the bed to use his headboard for support...it will be the first test for today. The second test will be to see if the 23 mph wind we have out there blows me away or not. :#

Karen my daughter and husband both have to much scar tissue. Must be hereditary. Hers is much worse. And nerve damage, which is awful. I hope your husband gets more mobility back.

Good luck everyone. Here is to a healthier year.

Kathy are you going to do more Body Pumps?

I ma's miserable yesterday. Migraine most of it. Worked late tonight.

Shelley I hope so. For me it’s all about timing and having someone stay with mom. Do you know if there are Body Pump videos on YouTube? I guess I’ll do a little research. The one the offer at the gym was awesome. My trainer encouraged me to try one.

Collin Duty then walking to the post office. Should be sunny and in the low 50's this afternoon...we'll just have to wait and see.
    How is everyone doing?

    Hey Chris,

Nice to see you've still got your feet on the ground. I'm enjoying the abated winds and clear skies and the hopeful feeling as we start to dry out. In La Honda, we got over 30" of rain, and you've probably seen the impact on the news.

Derek's property had a mudslide (away from the house fortunately) which knocked down trees and swept a shed down his driveway and exposed roots on other (100+ ft tall) trees which are threatening his bedroom. So he and my/his cat are sleeping at my house while he hires crews and dump trucks to make it safe again. Wampi is NOT a happy kitty.

It's been distracting. But has also been something to do while sheltering. And on a subconscious level, it's nice to feel like the safe place. It's probably good psychotherapy which offsets the recent years of crisis. Feeling grateful.

I'm getting to work out again. Did that video you posted!

Paula, I hope Derek's property is okay. Bad news that storm.
I spent the morning on Collin Duty then 60 mins with my trainer for a tough workout. She said she was going easy on me but...sheesh!!
Sara needs me tomorrow morning, so I'll go over and help her. Pete is going hiking with some friends around a lake at 8:00 a.m. when it will be only 33 degrees out there. I decided that was just plain CRAZY!!! I have much more to say on that subject but will just do it in my head! :/

Got back last night from my work trip ro Canada. Wasn't on my phone much...someone tried to hack into my cell in the hotel while I was sleeping. I woke up to my phone saying there were 17 attempts to open my phone....3 more and they would do a factory reset!! Scary! So I kept it off mostly.

I did workout once on the trip...really love the Peloton app ;) I did arm weights this morning.

    Highest weight ever: 306 (2013)
    Ultimate goal weight: 160
    1/2 - 174.3
    1/6 - 169.9
    1/12 - 170.1
    1/20 - 171
    January goal - 168

    Karen,

"White collar" crimes need to be upgraded to reflect the hurt they really do. They threaten people's financial and/or emotional well being and cause real damage. It erodes our basic sense of safety.

Hope your experience has minimal lasting effect. <3((Hugs!!))

I couldn't stop snacking yesterday and went way over my calorie limit. I got into that "well, I already blew it, today will just be a cheat day" mentality. But I am happy to have kept carbs low, through the blessing of (1) having better things to snack on; and (2) laziness, because fixing a second serving of (almond flour) pancakes was too much work.

Afraid to look at the scale this morning. But I'm going shopping in town today and it's flat there which is easier on my knees. The need to quidditch a couple miles for the challenge will get me moving and hopefully burn some calories.

Heart hugs sisters and best wishes, :flowerforyou:

I joined Body Groove today to have access to the videos to use for the HP challenge.

The ads touting "70 is the new 30" first caught my eye, as well as the dancers with all kinds of body types and ages. So I signed up and tried it today and it was fun! Like hanging out with a bunch of other people dancing away.
And my favorite dancer (a beautiful young/older woman with an amazing energy and easy warm smile) was in both the videos I saw. Don't know why that made me so happy. I think she projects happiness, good energy or something.

The workouts allowed for making the challenge easier or harder, depending on who you watch, or which instructions you follow. For ex, the leader will say, you can run here, or if you prefer, just step... Or you'll see a woman in the background doing modified pushups by bracing against the arm of a couch instead of the floor.

Sharing in case you might be interested and because the price is so reasonable. They're having a $5/month (for life) membership offer right now (usually $14/mo). Just FYI.

Just did 7.23 miles in 134 mins. It wasn't supposed to get windy and cold until after I was to get home...but the weatherman lied!! Brutal cold and wind!! Glad I'm home now.
We are going to pick up Ronan for a Play Date w/Grandpa.

Kathy there are some on YouTube. Do you have the equipment to do it at home? I like the class atmosphere. But I also can't always make it. I have a friend that does it with me. And over the years I have purchased many off Ebay. I have my favorites. #60 is one.

Karen so sorry that happened to you. Glad they couldn't get in!

Paula I know how you feel. I want to be the safe haven if needed also. Glad you can help out. Do we have to join Body Groove for the challenge? How is the music?

Chris glad she took it easy on you. Silly gal! Actually walking when it is in the 30's is fun. As long as you are dressed for it.

My watch was not charging hardly this weekend. Darn thing. I did a Body Pump workout. I also so A man called Otto. Much better than I would have thought. Leaves you feeling good.

I hope Body Groove is fun for you ladies!!
Shelley, I thought I was dressed for the cold wind yesterday but I wasn't!! I needed an additional sweatshirt and gloves. Actually, I needed the fireplace going full blast, hot coffee and the couch!!!
Going for Collin Duty this morning then to my trainer at noon. Then I'll start putting the house together for our housekeeper who is coming tomorrow.

I don't get sound on the discounted membership link but it is on the main page, if you want to check it out. Does this work for you? https://www.bodygroove.com/

The discounted membership link has the low rate though, if you want to sign up: https://www.bodygroove.com/pages/free-membership

    Paula

And yes, they are my crystals, thanks. They remind me of your corals and fish. We both admire the stunning amazing beautiful creations found in nature.

Paula I will check it out later when I have time. I must have music though. It is my inspiration. And I do love natures jewels.

Karen how is your husband and his mobility coming along? I have to say some people have bad scar tissue. Both my husband and daughter do. Hers is the worst. After she heals some more from her hysterectomy she is going to get a second opinion. She says they either make it better or amputate. :'(

I worked out last night. Did lots of rolling to break up the knots in my back side tonight. I am determined to break up the knots. My daughter is my inspiration. If she can keep going I can.

Had Collin Duty yesterday morning. Didn't walk yesterday...housekeeper was here .
Will have Collin Duty for a little bit this morning then I'm going by Nick's niche. We haven't been there in a while. I have my trainer at noon.
