Ugh yesterday was a bad day, and there was no need for it to be. I can not wait for SPRING ! Winter is the worst...
Today is going to be a good day though ! I have my food all planned, and I am going to exercise when I get home.

I have been sick with a nasty cold this week. I haven't worked out and I have been comfort eating carbs. My stomach is killing me today.4 -
I have had a gain all week. No surprise. Why does everything knock me off track? Am I just looking for an excuse not to do what I know I need to do. I pulled a flower card from this deck of cards my daughter bought. First I picked Heliconia and it read "Realisation The answer is here. Take heed. Then two more cards said, "Confidence - Focus on all the parts to make the whole." (Peony) and "Health - Be what you want to see." (Foxglove). They are pretty cards and an important message I need to heed.
So far today, breakfast was just fine - oatmeal and strawberries. Then we had two birthdays. I ate one of the BEST gluten free cupcakes I have ever had! At least it was worth it. Sometimes it is not.
Have a peaceful day!!3 -
Hi Everyone,
@jugar I am trying to slide back into the fold for February. Is it ok if I post here?

Let me know if I should post somewhere else to start with the February weigh-ins. Glad to be re-connecting with this supportive community.1 -
Okay, ready for February - glad to see you back @MoStacy - I am ready for February too - made a good start to Jan and then utter derailment, will regroup for Feb. @Gidgitgoescrzy glad to see you too...whenever I sprinkle a little salt on my banana I think of what a great tip that was. and while I'm at it, I used some Rotel this week in a beans/rice dish - had never heard of it before this group, certainly gave them some zip. Thanks all.
I think the longer day is getting more noticeable - no longer pitch dark when I get home from work. Fortunately no more 'events' ahead that threaten derailment, just need to have a quiet Feb to eat simple.3 -

Yes! All is well - no need to register elsewhere, etc. Once you're one of us, you can come back any time
Go ahead and start posting messages too - we could use some February energy.2 -
Last half of January train wreck has happened a bit here too! Not too terrible, but there is some anger running around inside there, and its expression is in eating and drinking in a rebellious fashion. Stupidest rebellion idea ever fought, but probably the easiest one to slide into. Let's corral that anger energy in better ways, eh?
Today was SNOWSHOE HEAVEN. We had a good 10 inches of snow, maybe more. I certainly covered a much smaller distance than yesterday, but worked way harder. Phew! Yesterday I went one of my long circuits that takes me to the highest point on our land. Today I was lucky to do a loop that was mostly flat. Oooof, but gorgeous. Those of you who hate winter should come and visit me. I have extra snowshoes. And good food.5 -
@jugar I'll see your 10 inches and raise you two more! We ended up taking time off work to be able to clear all the snow before dark. I put in 3 hours of shovelling and hubby put in 5. Another 10cm is forecast for the weekend. So fun! I wish I got to stomp around in it instead of pushing it around into piles! Lol
My tabata class was great, I felt it was not too much of a challenge at the time but today's muscle soreness feels wonderful. Just the right amount to know I did something without overdoing something.
I'm on point for eating, only 100 calories over but my Garmin says I burned 1100 calories shovelling and I have hockey in an hour to burn even more. As long as there's no calories in robaxacet... 😉
I haven't planned my eating for the weekend yet besides a turkey dinner (to make up for missing Christmas due to covid) on Saturday. Going to have to put some planning into this to stay on track.5 -

Hi,
I haven't checked in for quite a bit. I feel like the stress bus finally pulled over and I jumped off as quickly as possible 🙃 I read the past few pages but have definitely missed a lot of posts. Hope everyone is doing well.
Yesterday my dad went to the doctor and received the very good news of cancer free. He feels very lucky that his original test was a false positive. He is still awaiting one more test but the doctor felt confident he was fine.
I finished up this semester of my masters program. I am always so stressed to take the tests. Mostly because they have someone watch you take the test through a camera. I can't take them at home because our wifi just doesn't get enough reception up on the mountain. I need a private office which I don't have at work. I was able to use the speech therapists office for my test. It was so loud outside the office and they had about 60 preschoolers outside my door waiting for the bus. I was wondering if they would cancel my test! Luckily I made it and passed. One more semester to go!
I also needed to plan a trip back home to see my 90 year old grandma. My mom and I don't always get along and she has been really rude to my husband in the past. Not a super comfortable trip to make but I survived. Got to see my grandma and brought home 2 sets of china from her. Had dinner with my mom. My sister and niece came to the hotel and swam. It was quick but successful!
It feels good to check some things off the list. I basically haven't worked out this month to focus on extra sleep. I have been emotional and anxious this month which isn't like me. I'm ready to get back to a more consistent routine.9 -
@conleywoods I'm so glad to hear about your dad. What a relief. I'm sure the stress set point will finally be able to reset a bit. And Congrats on getting that test done with all those obstacles. One semester to go!!2

@conleywoods so good to hear about your dad! Thank God!2

Happy Friday! I didn’t weigh in first thing today so I’ll do it tomorrow.
I’m doing a brief check in now before work and plan to write more this weekend. It’s been a weird month so far with many changes on the horizon. We’ll see how they shuffle through and how I choose to respond to the shifts. Have a lovely day everyone!3 -
@jugar - Thanks for adding me to the team!
My name is Debra. I am 50 years old and 4'11" tall (?). I joined this group in WeightNoMore in 2021 (I think). I was around 160 pounds and reached my goal weight about 6 months later. My goal zone was 122-128. After reaching my goal, I stayed active in the group for a while, but I eventually just dropped off the radar. My resolution to myself was to keep the weight off for a solid year. My motivation was my grandchildren. I wanted to do the things that they expected me to do when we play.
Here we are. It's now 2023. My weigh in this morning was 126.8. I'll use that as my start weight for the group. I'm trying to tweak this goal zone down just a bit. I'm feeling like it should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 115-122. I may tweak that again depending on how I feel. For now, I think I will look into it at 2 pound increments.
For a little background: My weight loss journey actually began in 2010. I joined Weight Watchers then. My first weigh in was 196.6. I knew when I saw those "Official numbers" that I could not continue on that same path. Weight Watchers was great. I lost the weight in a year, and I reached my goal of 124. After reaching my goal, I became a Weight Watchers leader. I stayed in that position until 2013. At that time, meetings were being cut back. That cut my income so I sought employment elsewhere.
Things I learned from Weight Watchers that worked: GROUPS! Definitely 1000% effective. Having a support group is HUGE! That support can be the cheers, the "Hang in there"s, the competition (healthy, of course), and the celebrations! It works! Also, the meal tracking: Tracking your food down to the macros - Track even when you go off the rails! Log your mood at the time. Make notes, lots of notes in that food diary, even if you don't feel like it. Do it anyway! This helps to see if there is a pattern to any gains, moods, etc. Once you see a pattern, change it. Purposely throw something different in the pattern... a walk, a craft, a visit to a friend, meditation ... something.
In 2014, I had a series of events that made me not care about anything.... anything. I stayed in that slump until I found that I had put on almost 40 pounds. With a lot of support (and some therapy), I learned to find myself again. That was when I found this group. I'm glad to be a part of this group again. I'll always be grateful for the healthy competition. I have a competitive nature, so I like challenges.
This go around, my motivation is still those grandbabies (age 3-2-1-1). In addition to that, my daughter is getting married in October. She picked out the Mother-of-the-Bride attire. I have these "bat wings" that are just not conducive with the outfit. I'd like my arm to stop waving when I do.
Happy to be a part of this group while I try to be a super-fit grandma.
I look forward to knowing each of you and cheering from the sidelines along the way!
I'm choosing Saturday as my weigh-in day since my FitBit week also starts on Saturday.
