It's the most wonderful time oooof the year..... football is back!!!!!!! Sundays are for nothing but being lazy and watching football ALL day while some sort of delicious dinner cooks away in the kitchen. I've already warned people to not bother trying to make plans with us on Sundays unless of course the plans they have in mind are watching redzone channel all day  We're watching that right now and I'm waiting for my Packers to play at 4:25. It would be oh so nice to be able to have some delicious Octoberfest while watching but I'll survive.
Happy football season lushes!!!!!!!!! For those who love this is much as I do you're probably in an unstoppable amazing mood right now too0 -
FOOTBALL!!!!!!! accompanied by delicious beverages.:bigsmile:0

I totally agree!!! The only thing I would change is I wish it were about 20 degrees cooler outside but that will come eventually.
Trying to go for 0's all week. My scale hates me right now or is it that I hate my scale. Either way shooting for 0's .0 -
Holy, moley of lushiness....back from the lake house and the thought of liquor sickens me. Marathon days of alcohol ingestion. I'll tell about the creepy neighbor later.
The cleaners came while I was gone and the kitchen was deep cleaned and looks amazing. They will be back Friday before the party to do the rest of the house. This week will be spent getting ready for this party - ordering all the food and setting up the yard & garage for entertaining.
The family decided our next beach rental will be in Maine in August. So, excited to eat crab, crab, crab. I'll have to figure out if flying or driving would be better.
Kat, weren't you just in Maine? Or, there abouts?
Sunday, 0 <<<<<<<<<< nearly forgot what that looks like
I will have zero's until Saturday....0 -
Coming off a 4 day binger..... Had wine in the hot tub with husband and friend Thursday. Homemade basil, blackberry margaritas when we arrived in St. Louis around 4 Friday. Then some wine. And a beer, maybe 2. Saturday we starting drinking mimosas around 11 and only took about a 2 hour break before going to bed near 1. Yesterday I had several beers and a couple glasses of wine at a bar while being in my brother in law's music video and had another beer at home. I'm dragging @ss today. Must.....have.....0's...... Really, I need to dry out this week. I'm aiming for nothing until Friday and keeping it really low this weekend. We have so much going on for the next 2 months; this is one of our only free weekends.0

Kat, weren't you just in Maine? Or, there abouts?
No, we rented a beach house down in Top Sail North Carolina
Husband is away on business for the night so today I'll be getting house work done and probably going to bed early since I'm ready for bed around 8 now haha. Although I will be watching football
Glad you're feeling better SoCal :flowerforyou:0 -

Shooting for mostly 0s this week, except for Thursday. DH is out of town thurs-sat so I don't know if I will make plans.
I was over on cals for week, mostly because of the drinking and I was not succesful at the "no more than 3 per day and 7 per week".0 -
Mondays are slow, I had a lot to drink all weekend0

I am pathetic - 3 Nordeasterns @ 16 oz each and a skinny margarita - makes 5 - at least I won't be detoxing.
My party is in 4 days - I feel like I am ready; but, then again I might not be0 -

I guess waiting for the right moment to exercise will never come  I enjoy making plans, but working the plan is another story.
:flowerforyou: SoCalwoman - 10 days! wow. Don't they say 21 days cements the habit? What do you think?

Solid an steady with 3 or so vodkas last night. I drank wine over the weekend since I went and picked up my club and I had tow bottles too many for my wine cabinet.
Syd glad your feeling better
Kat I am so glad it is football season
Kim I would love to hire someone to deep clean my kitchen and my whole house. I am just afraid they would come look at the dirt and then charge me thousands of dollars ( the dogs and the dirt from the yard are ridiculous)
and to all you other lushes keep on LUSHING!!!!0 -
Kim-4days til you party AWESOMENESS :drinker:
Monday-0
Tuesday-going for another. I am actually still a bit sleepy from the weekend. I refused to move when my alarm went off this morning at 4:45!! But I feel better rested and I will get some yoga in tonight...not as calorie torching as I'd prefer BUT its good for the mind and body :bigsmile:0 -
I'm human again! I was even able to eat some great marinated/grilled london broil and sweet corn last night. I can't tell you how tired I was of bananas and applesauce.
annnnnnd...I almost missed coffee as much as booze! Still no alcohol yet but my french roast coffee is putting a huge grin on my face this morning.
Back to exercise today too. Let's see if I can keep some of this weight off that happened while I was sick. That's the least I should get after all the grossness I've been through!
kim, I know you're in party mode...countdown time!
the rest of you sound like you're holding steady. :drinker:0 -
humidex is 40 , I am drinking ciders, yum, peach and raspberry, 7 percent0

SoCal....I think I want that virus...well, not really, but I could use to be 10 days alcohol free
My dad's surgery went well yesterday although I am sure that he feels butchered. They removed 1/2 of the pancreas, his spleen and the vein that connects the two. So, it's 4 laparoscopic incisions and then they couldn't get the spleen out because they said it was like clay so they had to cut him open so add 1 to 2 bigger incisions. Add an nasograstic tube in his nose, a JP drain from the wound to remove fluid, foley catheter in the penis and an ART line in his neck (measures pressures). 2 surgeons inspected the area with a microscope and they believe they nabbed every single cell. The plan is to move him from the ICU today.
Hard to believe he was just riding the roller coasters at Cedar Point Park last month at 71.
This is a huge relief for me!! Yesterday was so emotional since I am stuck in the Twin Cities and he is in Chicago. Fortunately, he's at the hospital where my sister works and will be under careful watch.

awww kim...glad dad is doing well after what sounds like a tough surgery. :flowerforyou:
I had my 1st real "urge" for a glass of wine yesterday (a sure sign I'm recovered) but decided to just keep the streak going for a while. (I still have booze left over from my party..it would be easy to get into it all!) The weight loss is still happening and I'm enjoying that. I also know I have a week vacation starting the 27th...so I'd like to lose a few more before I get back in the bathing suit.
I expect the rest of you will hold on to my lush card until then...and do me proud. :drinker:0 -
Kim I am glad your dad is doing okay.
It is hot up here in the PNW. that means icy cold beverage. Today it is diet lemon sunkist and vodka. I am happy to report that I am still very happy with my new job. Things are going really well.0 -
Kim - Happy your daddy is doing well after surgery.
Syd - Glad you are feeling better and feeling like drinking ^5
Robin - Yay for still liking your job!
Kate - You live in Georgia too I am sick of summer and the heat and the humidity and the rain. Let Fall begin!
Kangoo - Ciders sound yum!
I tried to not drink this week but once again I am on the fail boat.
Sunday - 0
Monday - 0
Tuesday - 0
Wednesday - 2 glasses wine0 -
Kim-Glad your dad made it through surgery. Happy thoughts for an easy recovery!!!!
Wolf-we live right outside philadelphia...monday was mid 70's, yesterday was mid 90's and saturday is going to me high 60's....so weird. Honestly I don't really care of the fluctuations but the humidity is oppressive!! We are getting some rain today which should make it all go away!!!
Monday-0
Tuesday-1 smallish margarita
Wednesday-1 smallish margarita, 1oz shot of vodka and 3oz of wine
Thursday-manhattan or wine or something I'm sure.
Seems like a lot yesterday but for me...that's pretty good moderation0 -
Kim, that sounds like icky surgery, but glad it went well.
Syd, glad you're feeling like drinking again! :drinker:
Kate, we all need to blow off responsibilities and eat, drink and be merry from time to time....
Wolf, GA must = KY too. It was brutal here yesterday. I ran before 10 and sweat buckets. Then I had to hide under the bridge at the park because it poured, then stopped, so I walked back home with my kid, which turned into sprinting the last quarter mile beacause it dumped buckets again. Temps are supposed to top out in low 70's this weekend. I'm making chili.
Mon - 0
Tues - 0
Wed - 2 glasses of rose'
Perhaps I am most proud of Wednesday because I stopped at 2. That rarely happens. Shooting for another 0 tonight, but not making any promises. Dinner out = drinks so we'll see if we eat in or not.0 -
We didn't even get summer temps until very late August...never even ran the A/C til then...but then we got hit hard with hot temps and humidity. How you all live with that humidity is beyond me. It's pretty rare for us...just the occassional storm up from Mexico...or when the stuff from Arizona sneaks our way.
Its been great this week...mid 70's. But we're warming up this weekend. No humidity tho this time.
That's about my only contribution to the lush thread. Day 14 of what is turning out to be my Sober September.0 -

Weather in CT is nutty too but that's nothing new for us. Monday was lovely and Fall like and the last couple days it's been around the 80's again. Supposed to be in the high 60's the next few days =] I ordered some lovely oversized, cozy sweaters that will be great and fitting even with a big belly so I can't wait for the cooler temps to stick. I just love Fall, the perfect temps to me I also received some of my new Halloween decor and it seemed silly to put it downstairs when the rest will be going up soon so there are 3 skeletons sitting at our dining room table , a flaming pumpkin on our fireplace mantel and a zombie dog and kitty waiting for their zombie owner in the entry way. It's going to be quite the spooky October in the LaBarre household :devil:0

We are having major rain in Denver, some parts are flooding!
Last night called for wine, so I picked up a box It wasn't very good. I know you are thinking, box wine was bad?! but I usually get that kind and like it, so I don't know what happened. I guess when life gives you bad box wine, make sangria...
Sunday=0 drinks
Monday=0 drinks
Tuesday=0 drinks
Wednesday=2 glasses of red
Tonight I will likely be drinking.
Last night, I settled in for the long Sons of Anarchy opener. I thought it was good. Anyone else watching? I watch way too much tv! Right now, we are watching The Bridge, The Newsroom, and Breaking Bad, too...
I know I've asked before, but what do you watch and love?0
