@Gidgitgoescrzy lets have a funk-y party. Fruit skewers for nibbles, and dancing for cardio.
@jugar When I'm feeling this way out, the all-or-nothing thinking takes over (in every area), but you're right that there is a middle ground. We have some nice things planned for this weekend (comedian, hotel stay, hair appointment, family visits) and if those don't help me get in the headspace to figure it out, then I only need to 'survive' until my dietician appointment next Thursday.
@ashleycarole86 I'd stood the allotment wooden raised bed on its end, and it blew over, landing on my head and somehow also my hand. I've had far worse concussions, but I think I may be more susceptible to them now having had ~9 in my 35 years. 2 childhood accidents (that I know of!), 4 horse related (a kick in the head, got knocked over, two falls on rocky ground - thankfully we English riders are big on proper riding hats!), 1 passing out from heat, 1 passing out from alcohol, and 1 encounter with a wooden raised bed. Amazingly, I've never broken a bone, just teeth.6 -
Hi WA's ....You have a new member joining your amazing team ...Please welcome @project_shan5
-
Welcome @project_shan ! There has been a lot of interest in joining our teams, and I'm hoping you'll enjoy Team WaistAways even though you had chosen a different one. Please do not hesitate to ask to change teams towards the end of the month if you want to - I'm happy to move you over before any new people are added. We have many members who stay for months or years, but there are always some who give it a try for a while, and then find something they like better. Or switch teams just to keep things fresh. Or take a break for a while and come back. It is all in figuring out what works for you.
So dive in and let us know about you!5 -

I'm very happy with this! I thought I might have stayed the same or gained as I've had quite a few occasions this week where I've been unable to resist extra calories. Upping my physical activity must have made up for it
Good luck to everyone else weighing in today.5 -

I was looking back at the last few months and I don’t think I’ve been this weight since maybe January, so that’s great to see!
This week, I pre-planned my meals with a focus on high-protein meals and the mess have been delicious. We had this chickpea and roasted veggie bowl from Minimalist Baker that was so yummy! I’ve been really enjoying incorporating a vegetarian meal into our weekly plans.
I’ve also been honest with myself when I have deviated from that plan: I had free Chinese food at work for lunch on Wednesday (just a small plate because I could have easily had more), and some extra snacks last night (Popcorners - if you have not had them, they are so good!!)
For exercise, I have worked out Tuesday and Thursday so far. I wasn’t feeling 100% on Wednesday so I skipped my workout. I’m planning on an upper body workout for today, and then I have a circuit training class Saturday morning, and yoga on Sunday.
This weekend my in-laws are visiting and we are going to see a show. We saw Six the Musical not long ago and it was amazing. That might be my newest favorite show since I saw Hamilton on Broadway.
I hope everyone has a great day!!7 -

I had a whoosh of a week!
So, I have started seeing a therapist for my anxiety and help with the mental aspect of weight loss. I really have a bad relationship with my scale and we will be working on that among other things. With that said, can I be put on the support team next month? I will not be weighing myself every week, but would still like to be part of the team!9 -
CW: not positive so use the last one, please, I’m preparing for a colonoscopy today and will get back into Friday weigh ins next week!
I’ll be back soon. Enjoy the day, WAs!6 -

Happy Friday! Some really impressive losses, folks - you have been working hard! And no worries @LoraineGB - you had such a big loss last week, so a small rebound still amounts to a loss and is nothing to worry about at all, if you were so inclined
I managed to shave off 0.2 pounds, so really stayed the same. I'll stick with the regular team until I take off the next 1.2 pounds and stay there for 2 weeks, then hopefully I'll be back to maintenance for the foreseeable.
Have a good one!4 -

Thank you for the welcome @jugar!
Hi everyone! I'm Shan. I'm 33, from the UK but currently living in West Africa. I am a teacher, and have been teaching overseas for 6 years now. I enjoy playing netball and basketball (although I haven't played for a while) and recently started running again.
I lost some weight this time last year doing Slimming World, but it slowly crept back on. I really struggled/took advantage of the unlimited "free food", and realised that tracking my food is a better way to go for me.
I'm also hoping that having some accountability will help, and I'm also looking forward to cheering everyone on too! Thanks for having me, I'm excited for May!5 -
Welcome @project_shan
We love newbie energy around here and there's a few new folks settling in...looking forward to getting to know everyone
We have landed back in Calgary.. plans are to hit the Peloton when we get home. Trying to keep the activity up!
Our seasonal RV campground opened today so we are heading up to the lake tomorrow. Yay. It's the start of the season and I can't wait.
I ate poorly on my trip which sucks but I will focus on what's in front of me now.
Happy weekend friends! Make good choices6 -
I also learned today that I am insulin resistant. It hasn't affected my sugars yet, but my pancreas is working 3 times as hard.
@ashleycarole86 am I able to do the step challenge still? Or do I need to be on the active team for that?4 -
@lauren_989
Absolutely you are still able to stay on the step challenge. Love having you stay on!4 -
Friday weigh in
PW 202.5
CW 202.4
I’ll take it! 😊
Movers come tomorrow morning. The weather is kinda awful. Rain all weekend. Praying for a break long enough for loading and unloading.
My scale has now been moved to the new house. Tomorrow night will be our first night there. I think I’m ready and can’t wait to get settled. Almost there.
Wishing everyone good weigh ins. Welcome new friends. Hugs to those struggling. Please keep checking in.
I’ll be back as soon as I can. Steps are still over 10k daily. I guess that might be the key to losing weight. Ya think?!5 -

Good morning WaistAways!
PW: 173
CW: 172.6
I accidentally consumed more calories than I thought for a portion of this week, because I forgot to pre-log my lunches, and then I didn't check. Oops. Better next week!
Gym last night was great, the dance routine used a lot of the little pilates twitch muscles, but the fact that it was a dance made it fun.
Have a great day, everyone!5 -
Hi all -- sorry this is so late @jugar, but it is a weight from last Sunday.

I had a tough week for reasons I won't get into, but there was a kind of funny moment on Tuesday. I was upset at work (grad student in a biology research lab) and had basically mentally committed to having a huge binge by the time I finished my experiments. Steak, biscuits, milkshake...just a truly insane amount of food.
But my experiments took so long that I didn't finish until 10:30pm, when everywhere around me was already closed. And not only that, but the buses I usually take don't run that late, and I ended up having to walk home.
So ultimately rather than a GIANT out of control dinner, I instead ended up getting my steps in. When I got home, I just drank some water and went to bed. And the next day I didn't feel the same cravings so I'm on track for a loss again this coming week.
My experiments don't look very good and ultimately all will need to be repeated, so that stinks, but at least they get some credit for keeping me on track...7 -

I forgot to check in during the week - that was supposed to be part of my accountability and promptly forgot after I posted it 🙃 Hopefully next week I will do a better job!

Only one last weigh-in to complete the month!
@AshenMoon hoping to see your # by Sunday morning - thanks!
This last week of the month has been a beauty! We lost around 20 pounds as a team, and that is excellent. Well done, all! It has not been an easy month, but it is finishing in style.
Hats off to @TessieMac833 - the one person on the team who pulled off a loss all 4 weeks in a row. Cheers!! Wear the tiara
