Sorry for my absence lately, life has really been knocking me down and continue to kick me while I'm down and I've honestly forgot to log in. My oven went out my laundry room. Keeps flooding and I suddenly have no electricity in my garage. Where's the ball? My autistic son has been having a lot of issues this year at school. He hasn't felt comfortable with anybody and hes been getting angry lately and when he gets mad he has a habit of trying to run away. Usually going home. The principal will not listen to my advice on how to help him, and instead insists on punishing him and suspending him. I was getting him in for a med adjustment, and the school called CPS on me, I don't abuse or neglect my kids so it amounted to nothing but still. But right before we started his new meds, his principle decided they are going to expell him (this is not out District school, and it's the one I worked at, I lefts because the administration was starting to treat me different, and coldly, and now they are turning it to my kids, it's terrible) my old boss told me to sign him up for our district school before they expell so he has a fresh start, so I did and the old school principle lied to the school we are trying to get in, and now this school doesn't know if they can take him now. I've explained to this new school what happened and they told me that the old principle told hem a completely different story. Im just in shock that they are so mad at me for nothing that they are ok with ruining an inocent childs schooling. There's a lot more to it but that's the sum of it, so now I may have to move to night shift and learn to homeschool my kid. Oh and now the school has denied mely other 2 for Out of District Students next year even though they have never been in trouble, ever. Good times8

As a parent, you can request a special education reevaluation anytime to address changes (e.g., behavior changes your son is demonstrating). The staff should probably conduct a functional behavioral assessment to learn more about why your son is leaving school and work with him on strategies for communicating better, etc. As they say, all behavior is communication so it will be important to get at the root of the problem. Sorry for the unsolicited advice. If you want me to send information about your parent rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) law or autism resources, just let me know.
I hope you can get some answers to the flooding and electrical problems soon. Take care!5 -
@jessicakrall8 - I’m glad you are able to keep a healthy routine despite the drama and busy schedule at work. Good for you!

Ty everyone. I'm waiting in labs to come back in as it can take a few days. Ik that some time the ppl don't realize that there is a thyroid and then there's the parathyroid. The parathyroid is 4 glands that are the size of a grain of rice located BEHIND the thyroid. These 4 rice glands not only support the thyroid but is what processes the calcium and Vitamin d throughout our bodies. Mine doesn't process the calcium and vitamin d all the time like it's supposed too. Sometimes it processes the calcium and not the vitamin d or vice versa. And on occasion it won't filter wither one of them. And then it builds up. And then I don't feel so good. I wanna sleep, moody, anxious, nauseated and some time sick to my stomach. Some times brain fog happens. It's irritating.
Fun fact though: you can live without your thyroid and be ok on meds. You can also have 3 outta 4 of the parathyroid removed and be ok on meds. You CANNOT have all 4 of your parathyroid glands removed because you can't live without them. Strange how little weird glands affect our bodies yall.3 -
@angmarie28 that's a lot to deal with, and sounds completely unfair. Sending positive thoughts your way2

Today was a good day! The unseasonably hot weather made it really nice to be outside, so I brought the pup for a hike after work and cooked on the grill. I stayed under my calorie goal and got
13,014 steps today!
Work was stressful and the car is broken but im focusing on the good right now.

My goal is to stay ‘in the green’ with consistent loses this month, no matter how small. So, I’m celebrating this small loss. My maintenance target is 120-130 pounds so I’m clawing my way back to that range. Best wishes, everyone!5 -
@angmarie28 I'm sorry to hear all the troubles you've had lately, especially the difficulties with the school. Also sending some positive thoughts your way.1

@eahrenee - Great job making the best of the situation without your car. I’m glad you’re enjoying your puppy and having fun outdoors together — fantastic steps! 🤩
@reshii_devi - I’m sorry to hear about your family members who are not well. I hope you can find some time to care for yourself and relieve some of the stress while you are in the midst of caring for others. 🧘♀️
@Armygirlarmyof1 - Thanks for sharing what you’ve learned about the thyroid and parathyroid from your experience. My sister was diagnosed with Hashimoto disease a few years ago, and a close friend had her thyroids removed recently. I was surprised to learn that it will take months for her voice to recover from the ‘squeaky’ lower quality she is experiencing now. I think my son says it returns to normal as the scar heals. I didn’t know anything about the parathyroid before reading your post but I hope your medical team works through the complexity quickly so you can get on the road to recovery!1 -

After struggling to stay away from the Easter chocolate last week and seeing a gain, I'm onto 5 days in a row of logging everything and had calorie deficits on all those days. I switched from eating soup to salads for lunch now that it's warmer out. Have also been doing a bunch of garden clean up after we were hit with an ice storm last week. I'm aiming to keep up with food logging next week, but it sure does feel like it takes a lot of energy/focus to keep it up and to resist snacking.
Have a good weekend!5 -
@CasandraW if you’re near Kennedy, go to the Dixie Crossroads in Titusville. My grandma used to live there. The corn fritters with powdered sugar are amazing2

Why, despite walking a bunch, I’m outpacing myself with food. Not regretting it either5 -
@jessicakrall8 the Canary Islands are Spanish, but just off the coast of Morocco. Today we visited the National Park where Tiede, the active volcano, is the central attraction. It’s beautiful and like nowhere I’ve ever seen before.

I’m scrolling through the posts from the last couple days, and I have to say hugs to @angmarie28. How incredibly frustrating. It must be incredibly difficult. We all love our children more than anything and want the best and when things just aren’t fair…
@pedal__power Congrats on breaking 200!!!
@PatriceFitnessPal another big win!!! A downward trend when you are already so light is no easy feat.

It was my birthday last week but I was too busy with work to do much celebrating. I indulged over the weekend (also too much Easter candy) and then went on a work trip. I did well with my diet but drank alcohol during the work dinners and happy hours (I've mostly cut out alcohol recently). Happy that my weight stayed the same.
I'm going on another trip next week and won't be back until Saturday, so I won't be able to post a Friday weigh in.4 -

That’s three weeks in a row-I seem to have maintenance figured out, 😂.
I’m asking to be put in the support group for a while. I have knee replacement surgery scheduled for next week (sooner than I expected) so I’m going to be out of commission for a while. I’m trying to cook some food to put in the freezer. My husband can even figure out how to turn on the stove! And we have all our bedrooms upstairs so I’m not sure how that is going to work out.
Anyway, I’ve put this off as long as I could and I’m as strong as I can be going into this. I know the first few weeks will suck big time but I’m anxious to get this over with. I’d appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts you can send my way.7 -

@cre804 sending positive thoughts your way.
Both of my parents have had surgeries in the past few years, their bedrooms are in the basement. We made a temporary bedroom on the main level to help make recovery easier. Maybe that's an option?
Yes, we may borrow a twin bed and set up in the dining room. We did something similar when my husband broke his hip over 15 years ago. But if I can get upstairs the first day, that would be ideal, because the only bathroom downstairs is a powder room. I won’t need to leave the house for two weeks and the only thing I need downstairs is food, which my husband can get for me. Who knows, without the ability to snack whenever I want, maybe I can loose some weight! 😂

@cre804 I've asked the MODS to move you to Support...please let us know how you're doing...I'll be praying for you while you go through surgery and into recovery mode...hope it's quick and as painless as possible!!!

@bearchested I've excused you from next week's weigh in...if you want you're welcome to weigh in on Saturday and I can record it...just let me know. Have a nice week!

@cre804 - I know you’ve been weighing the pros and cons of knee surgery for awhile so I image it feels good to have made the decision and get it scheduled. The next few days will probably fly by as you prepare. It’s a good idea to freeze some healthy meals ahead of time to set yourself up for success. Good job!
My husband really liked a vegetarian chili I made tonight. Here’s a link in case chili is something you like: https://cookieandkate.com/vegetarian-chili-recipe/
Tomorrow, I’m bringing some leftovers to my friend. She got knocked over by a dog at the dog park and had to have knee surgery this week. I wish we lived closer to you so our supportive little Shape Shifter community could help you out during your recovery. I’ll be thinking of you next week!
Take your time climbing the stairs. I suppose you can scoot up the stairs backwards if needed and reward yourself with some deep rest. Your husband will probably improve his fitness while climbing the stairs to take care of you, too.2 -
