I am just going to do a quick check in. I hate to admit, I have not even been reading posts and catching up.
On Friday, I went to the dentist and apparently got bacteria in my salivary gland, which swelled up the whole left side of my face and neck, and just absolutely wiped me out, my cheek and jaw were numb it was so bizarre. Anyway, the dentist immediately put me on antibiotics so by Sunday I started feeling better. I must admit though I am pretty puffy from those antibiotics. 🥴.
My granddaughter had a bad case of stomach flu over the weekend and ended up at the Children’s Hospital on Sunday night. They were able to give her some thing so she has been able to drink some juice and have a few crackers today, that was a huge relief (all day Sunday, She couldn’t even keep in ice chips)! The downside is that she was supposed to go on a field trip today and her mom/my daughter was supposed to be one of the volunteers. My daughter had to stay home of course to look after my granddaughter so couldn’t go to school to volunteer, the teacher was not able to find anybody to replace her. My daughter texted me at about 10 o’clock last night and asked me if I was interested in going to the space and sciences centre with the grade one class for the day! Of course I said yes, it was fun, but exhausting. I am now passed out on the couch in my sweats, and don’t plan on moving for the rest of the night.4 -
@rodgerd27 Yes you are, woohoo!
@DrewsAnna That call would've scared me too, I saw the results and am happy you don't have to worry about where to go! Sounds like a fun day with the grand beauty, love playing games.
@trooworld Yum that dinner sounds amazing and healthy!Definitely agree with the meme, good one.
@sleepygirl79 Under 100 calories is still real good for coffee drinks. Here's some I found Googling, I used to follow someone who made Starbuck's low calorie dupes but can't recall her name: https://www.eatingwell.com/gallery/7913149/healthy-iced-coffee-recipes/ What about chai tea? That's one that can be made strong and with some nut milk so it's not “sore throat-ish”. Funny I'm drinking a sore throaty tea right now that's herbal so I know exactly what you mean! The cinnamon spicy teas are more in between tea and coffee I think. If I'm real hungry before dinner I'll do hot water with protein powder and it helps. Those Jordan or Skinny syrups aren't bad but definitely check the reviews out on each one before ordering, I loved the Skinny pumpkin ones but the peppermint was awful.
@laurelfit57 Oh wow I'm sure you're wiped out hanging out with first grade! That was very nice of you to do, I hope both you and your granddaugher are feeling better soon.
Happy Monday everyone! I was wiped out today, I got up at 5 and went back to bed, I didn't “have” to do anything today so I spent the morning in bed napping and reading as I was super wiped out. Worked out then did some plant organizing and got some bush beans in but overall it was a relaxing day. Also brought all the plants in the house as we're going down to 40 with wind tonight and I don't want my plants to die after a few months of caring for them. I've started making recipes with two friends where we take something that's easy to switch up with what you have on hand and today's was a cream cheese chicken wrap, it was pretty good despite using light versions of everything. I'm starting seeds and transferring seedlings to bigger pots in the morning so need to get through the exhaustion so I can get my garden going in the next two weeks. Have a totally terrific Tuesday!

Eep! I am barely making it on this Monday.
No Zeros today:
- Excellent food food choices, calories on target
- Stuck with my fasting window
- Weighed and recorded all my food
- Breathwork
- Meditation
Onwards! I promise to catch up on chat this week as well. But right now, I am off to finish up class prep for tomorrow. I ended up doing hours of Scout and mom work today -- all good stuff but I am a bit behind. So a double yay to the no zeros, even with not getting all the things in today!
Oh, and I am off to drink some Celestial Seasonings Blueberry Tea while I work. I finally saw some at the store, and several people here had me wanting to try it -- @Katmary71 and @Veganforlyfe2012 , I think!

Wow, there were 54 new posts! This group is the happening place to be! Thanks everyone for the leaderboard love. Unfortunately, after being so good last week, I blew it on my spring break with WAY too many tacos and vodkas, zero exercise, and generally living like a 20 year old at 40NOT SMART.
Back to work and back on the no-zero wagon this week but for the moment...
Did anyone else put their taxes off until literally the last day.... just me?4 -
Hey Y'all!!
Great news, I DON'T HAVE BREAST CANCER!! I've been sitting on this for about a month just wondering and worrying. That phone call today felt like a huge chip falling off my shoulder and I got a little pep in my step. I'm so happy!! I shared this on my news feed earlier, so I apologize to those of you reading this twice.
Well, it's late and I'm really tired. Good night y'all!!

@DrewsAnna - yay for the awesome news. I’m so sorry you had to wait so long but happy it’s over!
@19shmoo69 - great job on the garden work and great loss! This will be the first time in 10 years that I wasn’t forced to do a garden so I’m not but I will thoroughly enjoy hearing your updates!
@Katmary71 - we went Saturday a little too late to an area High School FFA plant sale, they already sold everything!!! Made me think of you! I hope Bill gets released soon, soon you got well rested after a trying busy week!
@micaroo4 - love that 10 miles and while birding??!! Very impressive!
@tammymccrady6278 - so glad you’re enjoying great weather
@sleepygirl79 - oh no more snow!!! Great healthy snack choices, I’ve been filling up on fruit lately!
@laurelfit57 - I’m so sorry you had a horrible week!
Finally a good weigh in, Jo da crazy that came even after I binged on Mexican food last night! Life has been fun and flying by fast! My brother and daughter went with me to an area Rattlesnake Festival, yes us crazy okies center festivals around live Rattlesnakes that are actually caught in the wild by volunteers 😂😂😂 we rode all my favorite high school rides! My nearly 40 year old body can’t handle the spinning quite as well but we laughed our hearts out!!! So fun!!! I swapped nights with my old trainer and I’m just about to clock out and head out hiking, he’s taking my Wednesday night shift so I won’t have to work again until Thursday night!!!!1 -
@DrewsAnna - Hurray! That is such great news!
@trooworld - Me, too, to not wanting breakfast! I usually fast until lunchtime, though I have coffee (about 40 calories all told, as I include some almond or cashew milk). Maybe there's a way something like that can work for you? I keep reading about the value of a longer fasting window, so it seems worth trying!3 -
Looks like it's going to happen tonight! Can't wait to be a Nana!6

Maintenance Goal 135 - 140
PW: 136.2

Hi Team, thanks for congratulating me for being on the leaderboard but I thought that once I reached maintenance, that my weight would not count with the teams' weigh-ins, is that not the case. What happens when we move to maintenance?
I'm so glad @DrewsAnna got the good news she was hoping to hear, that is awesome! Did you get a permeate marker, so they know that they checked that area before too? I think it's for the mammogram tech, so they know not to flag area that again.
@vegan4lyfe2012 are you a Nana now? Congratulations.
A huge congratulations to my team mates on the leaderboard, well done!
I saw my primary care today and she said not to lose any more weight. To just try and level off. I'm doing my best to. I swear I've been eating so much extra food I told my husband I need to eat a piece of chocolate a day, he said it better be very GOOD chocolate. MFP updated my diary today; it added an additional 250 calories. Being in maintenance mode is not easy since I am determined not to eat the food that caused me to gain weight, well it was not really the food it was me and portion sizes. And my love of Cookies and Cakes, plus, plus, plus.... Hopefully I will do better next week.2 -
@AustinRuadhain Great to have you back! Oh I can't wait to hear how you like the tea, I think it's the perfec thing to drink in spring, it's my new favorite tea for this time of year. Can't wait to hear more tea ideas, summer would be like watermelon or something right? Fall is all the great harvest apple/cinnamon pumpkin then Christmas is spicy and peppermint teas.
@fairymange Mission Slimpossibles has it goin on, haha! Sounds like a real fun spring break!
@DrewsAnna Yay so happy for you, I know it's like a second chance to get that news! Love the meme, that's too cute.
@shaunarlr83 Oh no that stinks about the plant sale! The first year I relapsed I couldn't stand in lines at ALL so I checked out Facebook Marketplace and found some cool local sellers and went to their houses, I met some awesome growers that way. Farmer's Markets may be another place, I have two different awesome growers right now plus the mushroom guy. Garden clubs have good sales too. Oh that festival sounds so fun, love your excitement!
@trooworld Yay for great days! I don't really care for breakfast either, I love the food and all that but would rather wait and eat brunch around 11 which makes it easier to spread out food with two meals and a snack.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Congratulations Nana! And thank you for the Easter card, I love it!
@FushiaKat Figuring out maintenance is a weird time, isn't it? Oh I think @trooworld or @broncobuddee may have missed that you weren't trying to lose.
Hi team! I slept horrible but it ended up raining so I know why I felt so bad at least. Did leg strength and stretching then I had the greenhouse to myself and got 10 trays started of lettuce, basil, squash, zucchini, cantaloupe, and okra started then had to find places for them. I picked up a ton of dirt at Lowe's and the food bank farm manager had offered to help me, I said it was ok but when I came home I looked to see if he was still there to help me and he'd gone home. I have to stop saying no to people helping me. I piled some dirt up on the walker and pushed it to the backyard but wasn't doing to big bags after all that as my upper back goes out super easy and I'm really worn out. Worked, booked next month's charity meeting, filled out the paperwork for my tooth extraction tomorrow, gardened, and got Jasper out on the leash for a few minutes. The best news is Bill's out of the hospital, I did some research on the blood deficiency he has and have some ideas but of course he'll have to listen to me. OK off to bed, have a great Wednesday!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on being a nana soon- must be any moment now? So fun, hope everything went smoothly1 -
Ugh! No baby yet. They are giving her meds to regulate contractions, so doctor thinks by tomorrow evening. I WANT HER NOW! (insert bratty footstomp here)2
-
@DrewsAnna wonderful news!! So happy for you!
@vegan4lyfe2012 cant wait to hear when that baby comes!
Today was my second day of being below calories! Hooray! However my veggies caught up with me and my IBS and it wasn’t pleasant. I will likely take a day off of my carrots and tomatoes to settle things a bit.
My son and I went to another game night at the bakery/cafe. I didn’t order anything but he had banana cream pie and didn’t want it all. Guess where the rest went? My pie hole. 😕 Good thing game nights are only once a month! Bracing for our winter (spring) storm. Supposed to be about 20 cm (~8”) and blizzard like conditions. Don’t ask why I live here. 😔1 -
Good morning Planet Slim!
It rained on and off yesterday, but today looks nice. I was planning to commute to work on the bicycle this morning. The sun rose right at 6:00am, but it still seemed a bit dark, and cars were running their headlights. I waited another half hour, and cars were still driving with lights on, so I decided to take the car. With the cloudy skies, it just didn't seem light enough to be safe. Temp was about 45F, so it was warm enough, and no rain in today's forecast, but better safe than sorry. I'll try it next week.
The grass really shot up on the lawns. Three days of sunshine and warms temps, and then two days of April showers - it's greening up FAST. Rich could not get the lawn mower going. I'll give him until next week and if he still can't get it running, I'm calling the guy I hired last year.
I am thinking about trying CBD oil for joint pain - has anyone here tried it with success? If yes, let me know the brand/type you are using.

Quick check in again tonight folks. I forgot to weigh myself this morning! I have been weighing myself on Sunday morning for so many years, every once in a while I can’t remember on Wednesdays. I have it in my calendar for tomorrow morning. Things are going well, antibiotics have definitely worked, I am still quite puffy and I believe that’s from the antibiotics. A little worried about tomorrow’s weigh in, but I will be finished them on Friday, so at least they won’t be around for my next weigh in lol. I am continuing to get at least 5 to 5 1/2 hours of sleep every night, which is sheer heaven! Now that I am getting some sleep, it is so much easier to stay on track with my food. I am going to have a quieter day tomorrow, so I will be able to do a proper checking in. Hope everybody has a great night!3
-
Hey y'all,
Thank you everyone, you all are so kind. I'm so glad to be part of this group.
@FushiaKat yes, they put a marker there so they know they have already investigated that particular area.
Dental appt yesterday really knocked me out. Today, I tried working on getting back on track. I did pretty good. I tracked everything I ate and stayed within my calorie budget. I did a 20 min workout early in the day and a 10 min stretching workout in the evening after I walked through the house getting all my steps in. So, it was a pretty good day. I need to get some veggies lol, there were no veggies in my meals today.
Yesterday, I paid for a subscription to "Body Groove" it's more of a "dancy" workout, like a lower impact jazzy zumba type thing. Her name is Misty Tripoli, if your interested look her up on youtube. I'm going to like alternating between Leslie Sansone and her.
Y'all have a good night 🙂🙂5 -
You guys I lived through an actual tornado tonight! Since I had an extra day off I drove about 3 hours away, spent the night and hiked today, on the way back home my daughter and mom started warning me about the storms. I really paid them very little mind but took my time eating and was planning to shop a little bit thinking the storms were going in a direction away from me, somehow I ended up on the very street in a town I never go to, right when it hit the worst. Here’s my Facebook recant and I know y’all (besides maybe Darren) won’t recognize city names or the street but this thing was huge!!!!! When I find out more tomorrow I’ll update!
Driving back from Lake Eufala my mom was getting paranoid about me driving into the storm so I stopped at the Shawnee mall at 15 til 8. The mall was about to close so I went into Ross that stayed open for another hour. Wasted some time in there and came out just as it was starting to sprinkle. Talked to mom for a bit and I realized the storm was moving right towards me so I told her I was gonna drive on since I didn’t avoid it. Just then the hail hit so I moved to where I was slightly being blocked. Before I could bring up News 9 the sirens went off, I looked at the map and thought I should try to go south, I left with the hail beating down and only made it a little ways before I spotted an awning to pull under. An angel named Kassie that was getting ready to leave the SSM Health Center ran out and asked me if I wanted to come inside with her and her aunt. I didn’t know how serious it was. We watched the news for a few minutes and she got us in the storage closet. I didn’t start to panic until the power went out. The hail sounded huge but I know now it was more than hail. We could hear several loud noises, I knew something was being damaged outside. She told us to huddle down and I just squatted with my back against the wall, but as the wind hit with full force I could feel the wall ripple behind me, I screamed and jumped forward into Kassies arms and us 3 ladies held each other crying, her aunt and I praying to Jesus quietly as Kassie prayed aloud over us. It seemed like it lasted forever, I kept feeling her aunts tears drop on my arm so softly. When it was finally over we realized it was bits of debris from the ceiling that was falling all over us. The roof was dripping water throughout the building with ceiling tiles falling in places so we knew we should get outside. I wasn’t prepared to see what I saw. Kenzies car, that she so sweetly let me swap her for the day, was moved out into the parking lot a good 30 feet from the awning I left it under and all the back windows were gone!!! So many trees were piled around it. I’m not sure what would have happened to me if Kassie hadn’t gotten me out of that vehicle but I’ll forever Thank God that she did! For whatever reason Jennifer was the only person I could stay in contact with while inside the closet so she sent Josh to rescue me. They had to coordinate to get him close enough that I could walk to him, 19 blocks down Kickapoo Ave and I’m so glad he met me halfway because the damage was worse the further I walked! If she didnt know she was my best friend before this then she surely does now!! I’m so grateful for GOD keeping us safe and for my rescue team for getting me out of there!9 -
@shaunarlr83 - 😲 OMG! What a close call! I'm so glad you are OK!0

@micaroo4 I've used CBD oil first orally and it didn't do anything but topically it did help but I use it for nerve pain in my legs and feet. Shoot I don't recall the brand, it may have been Elixinol as I've been following them for awhile, it was a hemp oil version I bought about 5 years ago. I use a marijuana tea now but it's from a local grower (entire legs and feet is expensive to use CBD topically so I use Volteran gel instead and the tea but I've heard good things for joint pain too).
@laurelfit57 I hope the sleep keeps up and the weigh in goes well! Is there anything you attribute toward getting better sleep?
@DrewsAnna We're happy you're part of this group! Honestly I smile every time I see your photo pop up in my feed. It sounds like you had a great day being on track! Hey I've done Body Groove, she's a pretty awesome person too. I was doing different dances for awhile and have a few of hers on my playlist. I'm curious to hear how you like her program. Have you done Another One Bites The Dust? I end up with my cats following me around when I do that one, pretty funny.
@shaunarlr83 Holy cow thank goodness you're okay, that sounds terrifying!
@trooworld Oh good I'm glad you can stay at home with not feeling well, hope the tummy is better.
Hi team! I went to the greenhouse this morning after my leg weights and stretching and we got a lot done, all the tomatoes and peppers are in bigger pots now. I think it will be a lot easier for me having a day in between so I don't have the greenhouse and farm back-to-back, now that we're caught up I can help at the farm putting seedlings in. My babies are growing! It's the first night my tomatoes and peppers here are going to stay out all night without a blanket so I'm a little nervous. I got about an hour in today in my yard, I'm trying to reuse half old potting mix and new mix so I'm dividing it up around my containers right now which is taking awhile. I met a friend for a small Blizzard and came home to eat dinner since it's hard to eat with the flapper in, the chicken and fries at DQ smelled amazing so I'm proud of myself for resisting! Have a great Friday team, keep being amazing.

@micaroo4 I went on Elixinol's website and it wasn't them that I ordered from, I started following them when I was looking for options as far as non-prescription pain relief. I ended up trying the hemp CBD then got my license for CA and tried some things through the dispensary that didn't go well as I'm real sensitive to marijuana. It was a small $30 bottle I tried orally that didn't seem to do anything but it worked well topically, that's just too expensive for how much I needed to use and a friend grows the tea and makes it and I feel normal and thankfully just have less pain and am tired vs feeling "stoned". I do have a 35% off coupon for Elixinol as I get their emails but am pretty terrified to try anything new as it made my pain insane when I tried all these different things from the medical dispensary. It's EARTHDAY35 through the 23rd if you want to try something from them, I must've read in a pain group someone used them so I subscribed but never ordered.0

@shaunarlr83 omg, I'm so glad you are ok! That must've been terrifying.
@Katmary71 I'll be sure to look for that one. Lol, if I wind up on the ground Chipper will be the happiest boy ever.
Hey y'all,
I gained again but I expected it. It's a brand new week and I'm trying to work on getting back on track. I made good food choices and I ate my veggies. 😅 I did some housework and a workout, lol, and I definitely made my step goal. Today was a good day for me.
I woke up to a surprise today. Lol, I had 2 newborn kittens. One of them was almost dead. So, I wrapped it up in a blanket (it seemed frozen) and took it in the house and warmed some milk. I used a medicine dropper and drop some drops in its mouth. I just held that baby to get it to warm up. After about an hour it started moving around and meowing. I took it out to mom and the other kitten and momma kitty took right over. I've kept a close eye on both kittens and momma and all are doing good. I didn't take any pictures, but I will tomorrow.3 -
