Hi, Can you put me on a temporary hold for the step count challenge? Since my Fitbit self destructed on Sunday, I have not found a reliable way to measure my steps. I am wearing three different devices right now and, of course, I have 3 different step counts for the past couple of days. Until I decide whether to get a new Fitbit, get a new Samsung Watch (for compatibility with my phone) or start using my Apple Watch, it would be best not to continue participating. As soon as I am comfortable that my step count is accurate, I ask to rejoin the group.

    Thanks,
    rwillems

Sounds like a good problem to have!

Nn-stop eating is my problem, too. Without all that running and baseball stuff! 😁

I can either excuse you or you can use this formula for walking at a normal pace which is 100 x minutes .....Let me know what you want to do :)

Make sure you eat back those exercise calories. How many did you burn between the two? I bet it was a great burn.

    Tuesday Morning Update:

I believe to be in keto for 2 days now, as my hunger has reversed.
My clothes feel tighter today though and the other day they felt loose. I am going to keep plugging away since I feel great!
I haven't been for a walk yet today as I am busy working.
    The sun is shinning.
I am on 8 glasses of water so far today.

Lame but that's it so far today :) Any ideas what I could listen to during work? I need some ideas, music, podcast, any ideas?

    I listen to 70’s and 80’s music.

Ouch! Don’t worry about the step results. I can do it if you would like.

I am curious about how everybody approaches food and weight loss. Do you eat everything in moderation or are you very strict? Are there any foods you absolutely can not be around?

    - THOUGHTS: Husband still in hospital so back and forth there. Got exercise in! Had a sandwich for lunch and left overs from Monday's dinner for dinner. Drank water but probably only about 32 ounces. Hopefully he comes home today.

I try to do everything in moderation while staying within my calorie budget which is different for each day. I like to munch on salty crunchy things but my body is not carb friendly. I also enjoy red "empty calorie" wine. So my plan looks something like this:
    • Everything in moderation - daily calorie range of 1000 to 1400
    • Limit wine consumption
    • Nuts for salty/crunchy satisfaction
    • AND...in case of emergency and calories allow - I will eat pork skins (I wish there was a low sodium version) fat yes, but low/no carbs.

I was VERY strict during my weight loss. I've eased up since I hit Maintenance but I still stay away from zero nutrition foods like pop and chips/candy. I'll eat stuff like pizza (veggie pizza, sometimes vegan) and chicken shawarmas as long as there's some nutritional value.

Do you have Shelby’s in Windsor? I love chicken shawarmas.

I probably am not as strict as I should be. I tend to eat more treats on the weekends. I am slowly phasing this out. I believe in everything in moderation. There are at the same time certain foods I avoid having in the apartment as I will eat too much. One of them is cheese wheez. I don’t keep bags of chips or chocolate around either. If I want then I buy a single serving. Very processed so I shouldn’t be eating it anyway. My husbands likes his sweets on the weekends so he buys things I don’t like.
