Weird week of eating for me since the holiday was Tuesday - I didn't plan meals at all so lunches have been random leftover and dinners have been lots of takeout. Something obvious to work on for next week!
@micki48 glad to be back, but so sorry to here about your kitty! We lost our family cat in March (my first and so far, only, pet in life), and it still gets me now. She would have been 18 this month, so also a good long life like yours!
Quick intro: Kay, 28, living in Boston. Originally joined this group in Aug 2020, and just re-joined this month. I am at an all-time high weight, very much struggling with binge-eating and body image hangups. I have an appointment with a weight management specialist next week which I am really looking forward to. I like home workouts and yoga, and have recently been pretty consistent with dance cardio on Mondays with one of my best friends in my living room, and using an app called FitOn for mostly shorter strength videos 1-2x a week. The intake part of things has always been harder for me, though. I am also hoping to continue healing tendonitis that developed in my right foot in late 2021 and has totally destroyed my long daily walks.
Very sunny here today although the heat does not tempt me to go outside. I'm lucky that my apartment building has an indoor pool open year-round so I may try to swim today or tomorrow. Possibly kayaking tomorrow morning, too. Happy weekend, Waistaways.6 -

It's been a bit of a week this past week. My knee has been playing up and consequently exercise has been down and less intense (not that I've been getting very intense since the injury). Food wise has been good, healthy and portion aware, and overall I'm happy with that. Sleep has been a challenge. I'm stressing a bit, worrying about Dad and aged care. I have found a lovely facility only 10 minutes from my home and they have a room available. Today I will visit Dad and talk to him about this and I really don't know how he is going to react. On top of that trying to get his finances straightened out plus working out the logistics of clearing out his condo when the time comes 🤯
My knee surgery is scheduled for July 20, less than two weeks away. So I will be out of action for a few weeks after that which is adding to the pressure regarding getting Dad sorted.
Anyway, I can only do what I can do. And all the while I need to be kind to myself.6 -
@wdalzell5401 my heart goes out to you and your Dad. It is a hard transition, but it sounds like you have found a good place. That's a big step. Keep well! I hope your visit goes well today.4

I decided to weigh myself every morning this week while accurately logging my meals to see, if anything, a trend. For the last 7 days, my net average was 1,678 calories, with only Thursday being my “green” day for staying under in my calorie goals. I have essentially stayed flat this month, weight wise, so as I prep for the rest of July and some upcoming vacations, it’s going to be important for me to modify more where I can to see that scale move.5 -

Wrong direction! So sorry for my red added to all the wonderful green. I have eaten out a lot this week. I’ve also had an adult beverage many of the days. It’s hard because summer feels like a celebration even if we do t go anywhere because I’m not exhausted from work so we go out.
We are actually really going away on a short vacation to the shore next weekend. It’s my husband’s birthday and our 40th anniversary.
That is a real celebration. So I’ll do what I can to moderate.
I have been very frustrated the last 2 days or so because my Fitbit just stopped working. It’s a year and a half old. I scanned forums. And finally contacted customer support. It died. I restarted it. But it wouldn’t charge. Working with them…here comes the creepy part, they told me to try and charge it in a different outlet because my charger is too cold. ??? It does have an a/c vent above it. I moved it elsewhere and it is charging. I asked how they knew a charger in MY house was too cold. The answer I got was their tools can detect it. So weird and a little creepy.
So now maybe I can get my Fitbit back on to motivate me. Need to get moving.

I need to do one thing that is exercise today heat or not. I did pull weeds in my garden for an hour yesterday and hopefully did not get poison Ivy.4 -

Getting ready to head out and run some errands, but wanted to drop a little teaser before I leave. Got my creative juices flowing this week and I have a very exciting CONTEST for the July Week 2 Group Challenge.

@PlaneMonkey I feel like I"m in the same spot as you lately, kind of being a rebel and sabotaging any progress made.
I've been in this strange season of transitioning from being busy to now slowing down and having time to myself. Keeping consistent in any part of eating or activity has been slow but I know what I have to do and need to realize that I can't be too tough on myself.
I'm taking this time to enjoy some of the summer and warm weather, get out in the garden and enjoy time with family. Next week I"m off with my daughter for a mama daughter trip to Vancouver to see some family and enjoy the city.
Today was a Peloton bootcamp workout, upping the water intake and enjoying time with friends.6 -

I'm having trouble getting my workouts in these days - the heat! Once I get in from the garden work or horse exercise, I am useless. I feel the difference, though - targeted muscle work makes me feel so good, and I miss it! Heat, heat go away...4 -
@ashleycarole86 i bet you can tell when my Fitbit broke. No records here but at least I can add a few steps to the team total.
The fix of a warmer charging spot did not work. It appeared to fully charge and as soon as I took it off the charger, it said 1%. Darn.
Today was a very sedentary afternoon. Cleaned house this morning. Binge watched a show this pm. I haven’t left my house except to water plant outside before it rained. 😂4 -

Greetings from beautiful (and HOT) Naramata, British Columbia.
Reminder that tomorrow is my first ever Gran Fondo bike race!
The full distance (153 KM) was reduced due to landslides.. so we are now doing 121 KM.. but with the elevation and heat, I am thankful for that gift.
Today we picked up our race packages. There is a group of 6 of us doing it... wish us luck! Race starts at 7 tomorrow.
There is a heat warning in the region and this Calgarian isn't used to super hot weather so my main focus will be hydration so I stay safe out there.
I'll let you know how I do. So proud that my journey with this team has positioned me to consider taking on such a feat.

I’ll take it! It would’ve been lower if I hadn’t eaten a salty supper out last night. Mt choices were good but I’m sure fish tacos have a lot more salt than I’m used to!
We’ve had a great day visiting 3 of my oldest adult friends. Oldest as in longest known, not aged. We haven’t always been in each others’ back pockets but we ebb and flow like the moon and now we’re all back in the flow.
More when we get back home tomorrow.

I'm late....AGAIN!
Really, I had the best of intensions yesterday. It was a heavy farm chores day. We've acquired a new goat, built a new chicken kingdom, rotated animals to new kingdoms. OH! And I cut the grass. I use a push mower to keep this body moving. I thought I was going to have a heat stroke at one point. That's when I knew I should probably monitor myself a bit better.

Got bloodwork back from the doctor. It was just the routine, once a year bloodwork. Cholesterol is on the rise (again). This is a reoccurring pattern I have. I've managed to stay off of any medication for it using diet alone.
I need to log on daily. I don't. During the week, I only log on to work apps. It was super busy last week. We had a short week with the holiday. I managed to be in 7 stores in 3 days.4 -

I had a good week for steps and exercise! Plus I have been mostly within my calorie range! I'm hoping for another good number on the scale. I have found that weighing once a week has been better for me mentally than weighing every day.

I got a small blow up lounger/pool and I love it! I lounged outside yesterday reading my book and was able to stay cool! A great way to relax after my body pump class. I am hoping to lay out this afternoon, just waiting for the storms to pass.

Hello everyone! I'm late with my intro so I apologize for that. I'm Dia from Atlanta. I was in this challenge couple years ago and it really helped me with my weight loss journey. Unfortunately I stopped logging in and gained back almost everything I lost. I gained I back because my why wasn't strong enough. I feared digging deep and addressing the issues that got me here. I also have several health issues and I have to realize that I can't do everything my friends do and that's okay. Also finding a balance and not feeling bad about making myself a priority and saying no to others when it interferes with my time.
I am a proud fur momma! I love reading, nature, music and just laughing. I am glad to be a part of this team and look forward to learning from everyone and growing as a person. So thank you in advance for a wonderful month.
