Hi everyone - Thanks for including me in this group! (Posting anything is a step out for me, so here I go...briefly...)

    1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? Family? Pets? What are some of your hobbies? Etc.
Married mom, kids leaving nest, work fulltime

    2. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
Saw 200.0 lbs staring back on the scale! New scary territory for me.

    3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
Stress, anxiety, fatigue. Working on them.

    4. Do you have a favourite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb
Can't quite put "favorite" and "diet" in the same sentence yet... ;)

    5. What is your favourite way to workout? Any new workouts you would like to try this month?
I really like to cycle. I think I would like to add some free weights.

    6. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
This month: To drop back below 190lbs.

    7. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
I expect I will eat better/exercise more just knowing I am accountable to others.

@Megan_smartiepants1970 Please add me to your step challenge list. Step pledge 5000. Thank you!

@lindamtuck2018 was taking a hiatus from the scale so I haven’t weighed since 7/1 which was 169. Wasn’t planning on weighing until 8/5 . I struggle with weighing daily even though I know fluctuations are normal. Hope you’re able to use where I left off from the last challenge

That no problem. I will use your previous weight.

A little back step, I’m afraid.

This week you will have to step forward. It’s ok to go backward every now and then.

I will sit out the month of Aug.. But will be back for Sept.. There are some things I need to complete at this time...

Do you mean the step challenge or you want to go on support for a month and not weigh in?

I overdid it yesterday. I am taking it easy today. I am watching my daughter tonight and tomorrow. She is having a friend over tonight for a sleepover. Tomorrow they will keep me busy.

Question to the swimmers in the group:

If you did an hour of swimming do you include rests in that time? I don’t think I can make it an hour straight without a rest every 20 or 30 laps. I would rest for 30 to 45 seconds.

    1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? Family? Pets? What are some of your hobbies? Etc.
Hey there, my name is Taylor. I am 24 from Jacksonville, Florida currently living with my mom and grandma. I also have 5 cats and am currently applying to become a 9-1-1 operator. I won't know until later this week if I got the job or not. Some of my hobbies include: video games, crafting with my Cricut machine (t-shirts mostly), journaling, making music playlists, photography, sharks tooth hunting at the beach, etc.

    2. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
Unfortunately I have not taken care of my body most of my life. I would say since the age of 12 I have used food as a comfort and coping mechanism to things life has handed to me. I am now starting to see some concerning health issues at 24 years old. Thankfully I do not think I have diabetes currently but if I do not correct how I am eating now, I am afraid that will quickly change as the disease runs on both sides of my family.

    3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
I would definitely say family issues and life stressors. I am often insecure and feel like I will not amount to anything and it causes me to further self sabotage myself making things much worse.

    4. Do you have a favourite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb
Not really, however if I had the will power.. I'd like to eat whole foods plant based.

    5. What is your favourite way to workout? Any new workouts you would like to try this month?
Swimming, Beat Saber, Walking/Treadmill, Apple Fitness+ , Switch Sports / Ring Fit

    6. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
To get healthy and have my energy and vision back to where it needs to be. I just want to treat my body like I'm supposed to.

    7. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
Support and knowledge. I want to help out where possible and not just receive support as well.

    8. Share some words of wisdom with your teammates.
No matter how many times you fall, keep getting back up. We only truly fail when we stop rising to the challenge each day. We can all get through this. Whatever you have to do to get to success, do it.

First day back to Weightlifting. I really didn’t feel like it, but knowing I’d made my commitment to this group got me in the door.

And of course now I feel FAB! (Though I can tell it’s going to smart a fair bit over the next few days. 😬)

Did my usual dance class too - which made me happy to be alive!!

Hope everyone had a great Monday! 💗🙂 x

Good for you lifting even though you didn’t want too. I want to eventually start lifting weights. I do weights in the pool. I have water weights but I I don’t think you get the same benefit.

So Sunday night I made the decision to quit smoking weed regularly. I smoke ALOT. About an ounce a week. The withdrawals are AWFUL for me so my Doc gave me a low dose anxiety mrd to help with the insomnia and anxiety I experience during withdrawals. Made it through Monday ok but the withdrawals will start really hitting me later today and Wednesday should be a nightmare. At least it'll cause me to have no appetite lol

On the flip side, exercise really helps. Playing Pickleball for the first time tomorrow.

Good for you. I tried it for the pain and I got paranoid followed by terrible munchies. I now take a synthetic THC.

I am taking the girls to the pool soon. I am going to do laps while they play. I am taking them to Wendy’s but I will eat my salad when I get home. I had a bad night for eating last night. I skipped lunch and that was a mistake. I didn’t go over calories but I had way too many carbs.

    Have a great Tuesday!

    1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? Family? Pets? What are some of your hobbies? Etc.
just turned 46, married (on paper only) 3 kids, all girls, originally from New Zealand, but have been in Australia almost half my life (on the 9th it will be 23 years), have a dog, he's a pain, but likeable, I play a lot of sport, cricket being the main one, but have played football (soccer) and rugby, also have a hit at golf now and then

    2. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
Started this journey about 7 years ago when I was getting fish and chips and saw a muscle and strength mag with Arnold on the front and said I needed to do something about my slack body, originally it was due to turning 40, then 45, now my goal is to still be playing cricket at 50 and kicking it!

    3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
I eat and drink when stressed, I have dysthymia, long term depression, and unfortunately I am sometimes triggered easy into just eating poorly or drinking alcohol, which isn't great

    4. Do you have a favourite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb
No diet, just try and eat clean, but have a treat once a week

    5. What is your favourite way to workout? Any new workouts you would like to try this month?
Sports, but also a little home gym,

    6. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
just to get under 80kgs again, I'm only 3kgs off what I was when I got married 17 years ago and when I was in high school (all be it more muscle back then that fat)

    7. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
accountability, encouragement, support when I get none in my own home

    8. Share some words of wisdom with your teammates.
    Get after it, get growing

    1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? Family? Pets? What are some of your hobbies? Etc.
My name is Marie, 60 years old, I live in the U.S. I have two senior cats, a boy and a girl, the are great companions. My hobbies are reading and listening to classical music. Loved traveling to new place, before having health issues.

2.Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
I started on this journey due to health issues, and I was tired of not having energy or being able to do much of anything because of my weight was hindering me.

    3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
Unfortunately, I'm an emotional eater. When I get stressed or something is really bothering me in the past I've turned to food. I'm learning to overcome this, it's a work in progress. I try to keep in mind that this is only sabotaging my weight loss goal and I try to keep reminding myself why I'm trying to become healthier.

    4. Do you have a favourite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb
Yes, low carb. I try to watch my carb intake and keep it low (mostly because I'm diabetic) and too much carbs seem to raise my blood sugar more.

    5. What is your favourite way to workout? Any new workouts you would like to try this month?
Honestly, I don't workout much. I do love dancing like Zuma and other types it's a great form of workout for me and I enjoy doing it.

    6. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
Mostly to get out of the 300's, this is my first major goal. Can't really think beyond that at that moment.

    7. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
Like it's been said by others, I need accountability, encouragement. I live alone and don't have anyone else to encourage or help me with this process. Being in a group with others going through the similar things in their weight loss journey be a big help.

    8. Share some words of wisdom with your teammates.
Remember you deserve to be happy!! You're beautiful inside and out!! You are special, no matter how we look or feel. 😃

    @tahm42
Glad you had a grea trip. You have some amazing steps. 33k is insane. Where you hiking?

    @Bluebabykatz
This group has kept me going. I started my journey in February 2019 and have been with the group ever since. I lost about 50 pounds in the first year and kept it off. I have been losing again and I am at 90 now. I guess my point is being in a group made the difference. There is no judgement so I have been able to get the support when struggling with my eating or exercise.

    @Hotspur11
Nice loss! Glad you are a part of our team.
