    My weighing days are:

    August
    1/8/23:299lbs
    2/8/23:

    5/8/23:

    I have your official weigh day as Friday. Do you still want this day to be the one I log in the spreadsheet?
    First day back to Weightlifting. I really didn’t feel like it, but knowing I’d made my commitment to this group got me in the door.

    And of course now I feel FAB! (Though I can tell it’s going to smart a fair bit over the next few days. 😬)

    Did my usual dance class too - which made me happy to be alive!!

    Hope everyone had a great Monday! 💗🙂 x

    Good for you lifting even though you didn’t want too. I want to eventually start lifting weights. I do weights in the pool. I have water weights but I I don’t think you get the same benefit.

    So Sunday night I made the decision to quit smoking weed regularly. I smoke ALOT. About an ounce a week. The withdrawals are AWFUL for me so my Doc gave me a low dose anxiety mrd to help with the insomnia and anxiety I experience during withdrawals. Made it through Monday ok but the withdrawals will start really hitting me later today and Wednesday should be a nightmare. At least it'll cause me to have no appetite lol

    On the flip side, exercise really helps. Playing Pickleball for the first time tomorrow.

    Good for you. I tried it for the pain and I got paranoid followed by terrible munchies. I now take a synthetic THC.

    I am taking the girls to the pool soon. I am going to do laps while they play. I am taking them to Wendy’s but I will eat my salad when I get home. I had a bad night for eating last night. I skipped lunch and that was a mistake. I didn’t go over calories but I had way too many carbs.

    Have a great Tuesday!

    1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? Family? Pets? What are some of your hobbies? Etc.
    just turned 46, married (on paper only) 3 kids, all girls, originally from New Zealand, but have been in Australia almost half my life (on the 9th it will be 23 years), have a dog, he's a pain, but likeable, I play a lot of sport, cricket being the main one, but have played football (soccer) and rugby, also have a hit at golf now and then

    2. Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
    Started this journey about 7 years ago when I was getting fish and chips and saw a muscle and strength mag with Arnold on the front and said I needed to do something about my slack body, originally it was due to turning 40, then 45, now my goal is to still be playing cricket at 50 and kicking it!

    3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
    I eat and drink when stressed, I have dysthymia, long term depression, and unfortunately I am sometimes triggered easy into just eating poorly or drinking alcohol, which isn't great

    4. Do you have a favourite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb
    No diet, just try and eat clean, but have a treat once a week

    5. What is your favourite way to workout? Any new workouts you would like to try this month?
    Sports, but also a little home gym,

    6. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
    just to get under 80kgs again, I'm only 3kgs off what I was when I got married 17 years ago and when I was in high school (all be it more muscle back then that fat)

    7. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
    accountability, encouragement, support when I get none in my own home

    8. Share some words of wisdom with your teammates.
    Get after it, get growing

    1. Tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from? Family? Pets? What are some of your hobbies? Etc.
    My name is Marie, 60 years old, I live in the U.S. I have two senior cats, a boy and a girl, the are great companions. My hobbies are reading and listening to classical music. Loved traveling to new place, before having health issues.

    2.Why are you on this journey? What pushed you to start?
    I started on this journey due to health issues, and I was tired of not having energy or being able to do much of anything because of my weight was hindering me.

    3. What are your triggers and how can you avoid them?
    Unfortunately, I'm an emotional eater. When I get stressed or something is really bothering me in the past I've turned to food. I'm learning to overcome this, it's a work in progress. I try to keep in mind that this is only sabotaging my weight loss goal and I try to keep reminding myself why I'm trying to become healthier.

    4. Do you have a favourite diet you go by? ie keto, low carb
    Yes, low carb. I try to watch my carb intake and keep it low (mostly because I'm diabetic) and too much carbs seem to raise my blood sugar more.

    5. What is your favourite way to workout? Any new workouts you would like to try this month?
    Honestly, I don't workout much. I do love dancing like Zuma and other types it's a great form of workout for me and I enjoy doing it.

    6. What are some of your goals this month? Year?
    Mostly to get out of the 300's, this is my first major goal. Can't really think beyond that at that moment.

    7. What do you expect to gain from the team? Do you have any suggestions?
    Like it's been said by others, I need accountability, encouragement. I live alone and don't have anyone else to encourage or help me with this process. Being in a group with others going through the similar things in their weight loss journey be a big help.

    8. Share some words of wisdom with your teammates.
    Remember you deserve to be happy!! You're beautiful inside and out!! You are special, no matter how we look or feel. 😃

    Slow and steady wins the race.

    @tahm42
    Glad you had a grea trip. You have some amazing steps. 33k is insane. Where you hiking?

    @Bluebabykatz
    This group has kept me going. I started my journey in February 2019 and have been with the group ever since. I lost about 50 pounds in the first year and kept it off. I have been losing again and I am at 90 now. I guess my point is being in a group made the difference. There is no judgement so I have been able to get the support when struggling with my eating or exercise.

    @Hotspur11
    Nice loss! Glad you are a part of our team.
