Had a very busy week, but have kept up with walking in the morning and evening of each day this week. Usually do my little dances in the evenings...some days it's all I can do in the morning is roll out, get dressed and walk, so I'm giving myself some grace. With all that's gone on in the world this week, I'm focusing on peace and kindness. I'm sure you'll see that in next week's group challenge as well. It's been very emotional this week and my heart is heavy, to say the least. Hope you've had a great week...your postings shine your light. Thank you for keeping me motivated!

Ugh! I am feeling sort of frustrated. My schedule has been so busy. All wonderful things, but very few healthy things. I know it will get better eventually, but just not soon. So I am taking one day at a time and doing what I can. I am planning tonight to get healthy habits into my week. At least tomorrow I will get to swim. I need to get back to my happy dances.

Annoyed with myself for forgetting to strength train yesterday. I did my cardio every day but only used weights twice. Hoping to do better this week.

Tons of housework today - went kind of wild reorganising things... And more alcohol free days under my belt - 22 of the last 25 days. Only 75 more days to go and we're hitting 100 - great work, everyone!

I’m still hanging in there with no chocolate intake. My hubby brought some home over the weekend and I threw it out. Told him if he wants some to keep it in his car or at work.

So, like @jugar I’m at 22/25 days chocolate free 😀

Walked yesterday and today twice each day and walked on breaks at the office...didn't feel well last night so laid down afterward and fell asleep waking up after midnight...feeling better today but work was swamped. Hope your week is going well!

Happy Friday y'all...insane day for me at work, but lately they're pretty much all like that! I walked for just 10 minutes this morning and walked around the office a couple of times. Getting ready to walk again now just to relax. It's been a long and crazy week.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

23 of 28 days have been alcohol free. I'm aiming now for a longer AF streak - I'm certainly doing better, but I want to see what it is like to eliminate even this small amount for a while longer. My visit to my daughter and coming back home reawakened some of the urges, so it is more important than ever to put in the work.

I was driving around running a million errands late yesterday afternoon, and the urge to stop at the amazing craft beer store around the corner was strong. I reminded myself of a few things: that the belief that a beer or 2 would help relieve the stress is created by the bits of my brain that have been changed by alcohol to think that the short-lived rush is a good thing and important to survival. That the short-lived rush is really short-lived. That anxiety is always worse the next day. That the after-party of that short-term rush is made of dynorphins that really depress and wreck any positive feeling that may have been there.

It worked. I did not stop at that store, I had a lovely evening and this morning I'm feeling calm and productive. I am glad I have learned more about this and that it gives me good reasoning to apply when reason is in short supply! Cravings can be booted out by knowledge and planning. I'm getting there.

@jugar As with any craving, the pull is SO strong, so being able to say no, know the important reasons why and then carrying it through are a BIG deal! CONGRATS, my friend! I bet your feeling accomplishment while relaxing last night more than made up for it. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!

I got up early this morning and walked for a half hour. Felt awesome even though my right knee is trying to tell me it is boss. I'm ignoring it...stubborn stiff knee. Now doing a few things around the house...cleaned the kitchen and doing some laundry. I just love puttering around my house on the weekends...happy as a pig in slop, I am! LOL My grandmother used to say that all the time...starting to miss my family who is no longer with me...especially this time of year heading into the holidays. I remember good times of sitting around the dining room, breaking beans with my mother, grandmother, aunt and cousins and hearing all of their stories...smelling all of the tremendous cooking smells, talking about recipes or just listening to the chit chat as family does. I miss that...October always held discussions of canning, new things to try for upcoming holiday meals or talking about recipes of what they planned to fix for various functions at home, church or at other relatives' visits. My grandmother, mother, favorite aunt, great aunt, grandfather, father, favorite uncle and cousin Michael are all in heaven now. It's just me (VA), my brother (KY), niece (FL) and cousins (IN) left now, but we're all spread out, so won't be together during the holidays. I try to look at the holidays as just another day, but it's hard. So Nov and Dec will be a challenge.

Are you guys starting to think of the holidays yet? What are your plans?

I’m find success and empowerment with these final 100 days of 2023.
As I continue to build myself up I find I am much less bothered by the opinions of others.

Walked early this morning and this evening after getting home from working some OT. Productive but VERY busy day! Had great meetings with my manager and my VP of IT, all with positive feedback and words of encouragement. Gave me a boost about my new role. Hope y'all had a great day as well!

A lovely day! Still AF and enjoyed some good time with my horse, had a great talk with my daughter, and gave blood. Tomorrow's to-do list looks a little less spiffy, but that's ok. We're up to day 33!

Slipped on the chocolate front Friday and had a few Lindt Lindor chocolates. They were disgustingly sweet after not having had chocolate for most of the days since September 23rd. Would have normally eaten a whole bag of these in the past, but couldn’t do it this time, so I take that as progress.

Walked my 5k on Saturday and although I hit my step goal on Sunday, I tried to take it easy. This week is very hectic and I want to make sure I can function...just trying to make it to the weekend! Next week, things get back to normal...then in just a few weeks, I have a week off!! WOOHOO I need it!

I thought of you guys when a good song came on yesterday and I just HAD to dance! See what an affect you're having!

Visiting my step-mom over the weekend included 2 beers (and some ice cream :grimace: ) but we had a lovely time and I did not go over 1 drink in any 1 day. Back home since yesterday (Monday) and back to no alcohol. And no ice cream!

Had another chocolate free day yesterday

It was my husband’s birthday and I managed to celebrate with him AND without chocolate at the same time 😀
