We had both boys yesterday morning. One is hard...two is exhausting!! I did nothing after they were picked up. And, now I have caught their cold. Don't think I'll be walking today.
They are all heading for Carmel today. We will have Bean for four days while they are gone.
I'm going to read now.
Chris0 -
Chris you and Bean enjoy your mini vaca. You earned it. Get rid of the cold!
Been practicing my Spanish. Doing my hip/back routine. It is helpful. Also painted the porch posts a second coat of paint.

Thanks, Shelley.
Our housekeeper is coming this afternoon. Had to clean the house!!
My nose is sore and my throat is scratchy. I must shower before my sweet husband says..."What is that smell?"
Slurping down coffee right now. Will head for the water shortly.
Chris0 -
Chris I am sorry you are feeling poorly. And had to clean the house. Get well. Rest and for heaven’s sake shower
Did my workout for my hips and back tonight. Must be working. I sure felt some pops.
Shelley1 -
Chris - Hope you are feeling better!!
Fluenta Canada this morning for my work trip. Work from the hotel this afternoon, but did take a break to go on workout in the fitness center. I have an exercise on a work trip and a really long time so that felt great.
Had dinner with two x co-workers which was wonderful. Salmon :-) did a good job all around today! Now just need to press repeat :-)
Karen1 -
Thanks, my friends. It just kills me that we have 9 days with no Grandsons, and I feel like dookey and can't talk myself into walking. It's beautiful out there and in the 70's...sigh.
Karen, what is your job that you get to travel to all those wonderful places?
I'll keep working on getting better.
Chris1 -
Better today. Going to workout w/my trainer at noon. Crimeny...that means I gotta get in the shower...
Later, my friends,
Chris0 -
Hello old friends,
Thanks for still being here. Hope you are all well.
My internet died a few months ago, so I've been offline. A neighbor is letting me connect to his router for now - a godsend. It'll be nice to track meals online and hang with y'all again.
Nice to see everyone.
Paula1 -
Hi!! Paula!! Good to see you again!!! Nice neighbor you have there.
Chris0 -
Karen good luck with the rinse and repeat. I am cheering you on. 🤗
Chris I laughed at you having to get in the shower. I am so like that sometimes. 😴😴
Paula hope your internet comes back on soon. Glad you have an alternate way now.
Shelley0 -
Almost forgot. Libby had 6 teeth pulled today. Barney one. My poor little Libby. I have been practicing Spanish for a little over a week now. I feel so dense!
Shelley0 -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHELLEY!!! EAT CAKE AND EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO!!!!! Have a great day!
I manged 5.73 miles in 117 min to the post office and back this morning. I had my umbrella with me...sunshine...and on the way back from the post office, I saw this woman and her little dog sitting on the curb. She had one foot in the gutter and she was curled over her other leg. She had white hair and her skin was dark, dark suntanned. I crossed the street and asked if she was okay. She said she was waiting for her ride. I asked if she wanted my umbrella. She took it, asked if she should leave it against the fence so I could get it later and I told her, "No, keep it. It's yours now." I felt really bad for her. Not sure if anyone was coming for her or not, but it was too sunny for her to be sitting there with no shade. I had a nice breeze all the way home.
Chris1 -
Shell,
Poor babies, but Libby and Barney probably love losing those toothaches!
paula1 -
Chris I sure hope she did have a ride coming. That was a super kind thing for you to do. And thanks. I don't think I mentioned my birthday recently. Do you have them wrote on a calendar? They made lunch for me at work. Cake and chili with cornbread. Yummy. The DA's office made me some butter pecan bars. I had lots of chocolate gifts. So much fun.
Paula Libby had a rough night. She woke up crying at midnight. We gave her some rimadyl for pain. I snuggled with her until she fell asleep. Then I fell asleep with her against me. She is better tonight. I think they will be glad those bad teeth are gone.
Shelley0 -
Shelley, since I have this incredible memory...bwahahahahah...says the woman who can't even remember what day it is...yes, I have everyone's birthday written on the calendar...I think. Sounds like you had a great day!!
My trainer had to have her little Yorkie's teeth pulled. She's on meds. She was bleeding Wed so had to go back in to see the vet. Hope she's better today. I hope Libby feels better, too. Not a fun experience for them.
I have my trainer today at noon which means I have to go get in the shower...by, my friends. Have fun today! It's Friday...I had to check the calendar to be sure what day it is!! bwahahah!
Chris1 -
I was catching up on past posts. Everyone looks great.
Kathy, your mom is such a doll. Shell, I'm jealous you're in such great shape. Karen thank you for sharing your travels. Beautiful locations.
Did TwistedSassette disappear? I think she was another Hogwarts Challenge player.
Chris, I have/had aFib which got increasingly worse over the years. It was getting to the point that meds didn't help control it, so they performed an ablation... and its been gone since then (bout 10 yrs now). Highly recommend it.
Luv y'all,
Paula1 -
Paula, glad your aFib is under control. Working w/the meds now. Doc told us that most folks who had the procedure fond out it didn't last. I'll see what happens with the meds.
I didn't walk today. I sat and read!! To the post office tomorrow.
Chris1 -
I got 5.68 miles done in 120 mins to the post office and back. It was beautiful today. I had my other umbrella with me. I got to pet puppies. It was a good walk.
Well, the Holiday Week has come to an end. We'll have Collin early tomorrow morning and Ronan in the afternoon. Next long Holiday is Thanksgiving Week. Sleeping in was soooo nice...sigh.
Chris0 -
Paula I wish I was in better shape. Just glad my hip/back exercises are helping. I think she is gone. We are not exciting enough for some folks. Like having 4 pen pals. So glad the procedure worked for you.
Chris I am not sure I would want to watch my grandkids when I retire. Mine would be great grandkids. A couple times a week maybe. You are a saint. Or maybe for a trade off of chores?????
Saturday was our seasons end potluck on the mountain. Lots of family and friends. Small children every where. Good thing we have a fort, slide and swing. The bucks were clashing also. The men were especially interested in that. Rocky bought me a cake. My kids got me a game for my Nintendo switch. Which I still have not played!
Sunday was clean the aquariums time. We did filters, lids, over flows, sponges and skimmers. Intensive cleaning. Then worked out some. Did my recovery exercises. Not wanting to stiffen up as long as I can help it.
Still working on my Spanish.

Horrible week. No excuses but it is the anniversary of my father’s passing. Couldn’t sleep this week so was up snacking almost every night. Will get it together.

Welcome back Paula. You’ve been missed! Hope you’re well.
Belated happy birthday Shelley.
Thanks Chris. Right now I can’t remember the day if the week.
I’m struggling right now. I haven’t shared but Ron’s mom passed away. She had Alzheimers and kidney issues. She was doing okay until she wasn’t. He spent the last 6 weeks in Jackson, Mississippi with her. She was in hospice care and died last Saturday.
A former co-worker’s son committed suicide, one of my favorite ex manager died Friday from brain cancer and a close friend of Ron’s had a stroke and died two weeks ago. Yes it’s been all doom and gloom lately. Life’s a little scary right now. Every time the phone rings I think what can happen next. Trying to find joy but it’s hard right now.
My friends and I have a weekend trip planned for Vegas the first weekend in August but it’s hard to think about fun right now with so much going on.
I feel so discombobulated. I know I have to get it together. Mom needs me that hasn’t changed. We did go to the cemetery yesterday on the anniversary of Dad’s death. I went with mom, my sister and niece. It gave me some comfort in a strange way.
Sorry for the long post. I will get it together. All I can think at this moment is why can’t I be like others who can’t/don’t eat when stressed and lose weight instead of gaining. 🤷🏽♀️

One more thing, other than the squats challenge and my recumbent bike, I haven’t been working out as much lately. I can definitely feel the difference physically, mentally and emotionally.
That’s all,
Kathy0 -
Kathy a long post here is just what you need. Wow, you have been dealing with so much. I have always felt that a cemetery is for the living. It gives us comfort and closure. A place to let the grief out. I am sure Ron is suffering. Give him a hug for me.
Don't beat yourself up over the eating. Just fill your fridge with salads, boiled eggs, low calorie salad dressings and eat all you can. Put a puzzle on the table and turn on your favorite music.
I am glad you are doing the squats with me still. I will be thinking of you and Ron tomorrow. Hugs
I am still thinking about my future aquarium. We have spent so much on the cabin I may have to wait a little more. Tonight we bought a pan for the shower in the cabin. We will design around it. Frame it in. Tile and all that blah blah stuff.
Shelley1 -
Kathy, sending love and good thoughts to you and Ron.
I do squats three days a week...always the same, tho.
Had my trainer yesterday after Collin Duty. This morning I managed 3.51 miles in 64 mins and Collin was here w/Grandpa when I got home. The morning was pretty fun...watching hummers, trying the stroller inside and outside, then Collin playing in Ronan's police car...so darn cute!! Pat will be picking up Ronan shortly. I must set up a battle.
Chris1 -
Chris I love how much fun you have with the Grands. They will have great memories of their time with you guys.
Kathy1 -
Hope this makes you smile!

Collin Duty this morning then 60 min workout w/my trainer.
Let me explain today to you all...first...Collin was the most unhappy baby on the planet!! He was not having any of it...no matter what "it" was!! Changing his diaper was a battle with two grownups and he won!! I was putting the diaper under him and he grabbed the front and yanked it out!!! We were laughing so hard...but it was so sad...he was crying and yelling and kicking. We still don't know why. Took me a long while to get him to sleep for his nap but after he woke up...we got all smiles again!!
THEN...dun...dun...dun...I jumped in the Santa Fe and drove to my trainer's house only to get a call from Patrick letting me know it was a Sonata Day...the Sonata doesn't have a car seat for Ronan and it was Early Pick-Up at school, Pat needed the Santa Fe. I dashed home and switched cars and got back to my trainer's house in 25 mins!! She was great about the whole thing and went easy on me cuz she said I looked a bit stressed!! bwahahahahaha!
That's my story for today!
