My mom had a minor emergency (scratched her eye), so I was busy for a couple of days driving her around to appointments, pick up prescriptions etc. So the beginning of my week was a bit off and I didn't get my steps in. That's okay, life happens sometimes.

@Zaxa2021 - I hope your mother recovers quickly. It’s scary to injure an eye! It’s good that you could be there for her. I’m sure it was comforting to have you nearby to help.2

I’m being lazy and not going back to earlier pages. I’ll catch up on previous posts later tonight though —
I hope everyone is doing well with nutrition and fitness in the new month. I’ve made a LOT of commitments to myself in October so I hope I can stick with them, and make better progress toward my weight maintenance goal. I’m not happy that I’ve drifted so far from my 120-130 range, but I’m not discouraged anymore. That alone feels like progress!
This week, the river water has been calmer than last week. So, I was able to row more. 🥳🎉🥳 It felt a little scary getting back into the single scull but my favorite boat was fixed (after a long time waiting for the repair) so I was excited to use it.
Yesterday, our coach returned from the World Rowing Masters Regatta in South Africa. She shared some amazing pictures from a safari and other fun excursions AND, if the venue wasn’t enough for a trip-of-a-lifetime-experience, she won NINE medals! 🥇🤩🤩🤩🥇. She had never used the boats before and rowed with a mix of people who never rowed together regularly — Amazing! She signed up for 14 races and won nine medals. They didn’t give medals for second or third place but they awarded first place in each heat. For example, she won her single sculling heat and then got third place overall — in the world. So, that’s one medal for the first place heat. I know she had some overall 1st place wins, too. Wow!
She works hard, practices constantly, and is the nicest person. It’s hard to believe she’s willing to spend her time coaching us. We’re fortunate for sure!

my mental health & emotions are really taking a hold after losing my 1yo kitty last Monday - when stress happens, I gain I still cry every day
@LaurieWrobo I am so sorry your grief is so heavy...I know that pain well. I hope you can think of happy thoughts of your fur baby soon and smile rather than cry. We're here if you want to talk about it...

Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a nice day with my mom. She got dropped off a little after 11:00. After lunch we went out for a walk. It was a little windy, but the temperature was very nice. We were also lucky enough to spot a black woodpecker again. My mom had never seen one before. I didn't have my camera with me, my mom did, so I tried to take some pictures for her. But the camera isn't very good (she never brings the one I gave her for some reason) and it was a bit rough because of all the trees and branches so I think we got maybe 1 okay picture. She was just happy to have seen one though, so it was fine. We made a short stop at a new information center that recently opened nearby. It has a restaurant, a small souvenir/map shop and it will also get an outdoor shop later down the line. I saw a really cute, small sheep plush, so naturally I got one and my mom bought some postcards. After that we walked home and had a relaxing afternoon/evening. Happy Thursday everyone

Had a nice long walk with my husband yesterday but didn’t get in my bike or run. I’m also trying to add strength workouts and I missed that too.Still, it was worth it.
The scale has gone up 3 days in a row and unfortunately, I know exactly why. Hoping to do better today.
@PatriceFitnessPal Your coach sounds amazing! And brave! To travel like that and compete with new people? So impressive!3 -

Clear day so I was able to meditate outside with the cats. Husband's birthday today, he's 41. Celebrated by making 3 cupcakes and walking on the beach (he had the day off). We've been trying to lose weight and so far he's down 25lbs so we just had one cupcake each.
Meditating outside on the Yoga Mat, but I tend to end up listening to birds, watching clouds, and petting cats -- but it's really nice.

Good morning Shape Shifters. Sleep is starting to suffer a little bit, which is what I expected because my mom is here. I can't exactly go to bed at 19:30, that's not very fun. Anyway, we left in the morning for a walk, though I started on my bike because it would have been too far for me. My mom walked 10 kilometers and I walked 7. The weather didn't look great, but besides a small bit of rain when we left, it stayed dry. It was very windy though. There wasn't a lot to see again, but my mom had fun photographing all the mushrooms. We also passed a big barn that houses the Drenthe Heath Sheep so we spent some time enjoying their smelly company. I had my breakfast at a pretty picknick table in the forest. Our afternoon was relaxing and in the evening we went out for dinner. This morning my weight is up quite a bit, but I hope to get that down again just as fast. Happy Friday everyone

Total weight loss 36.6 lbs
Lost some of the weight I gained over the last 3 days, but not all. Hopefully will be back at 135 by next week, which was my original goal. I’ve found it tough to get much lower, but am hoping for a bit more wiggle room before the holidays.

Sorry! - I forgot to post yesterday. The week got away from me. I apologize for the late weigh-in. This week, the scale numbers were up and down, while checking my weight most days. I’m kind of relieved it ended up on exactly the same number as last week. Sometimes no gain feels like a victory! I hope everyone has a nice weekend, especially if you have a longer one with Monday off. Enjoy!3 -

My eating & logging haven't been good this week.Mainly because my bro in law gave me alot of leftover food from my his grand daughters first birthday.I never buy cakes, sausage rolls & scones so they were
hard to resist.
I'm still trying to get my house clean & in order after been away for September. It wasn't too untidy ,my sons did try a little. But catching up with laundry when it's raining everyday is hard work.
I did get a Dance fit class in this week, this mornings class was cancelled so I did 15 mins on the bike & some strength training.3 -

Happy Friday Shape Shifters!
Today was the only day this week that I didn't have time to walk before work. I was disappointed, but I really needed the extra sleep. Ended up working overtime and then had to go get groceries, come home and put those away...empty all the trash, do a little light cleaning in the kitchen and one bathroom. Work was very busy today as the boss and several colleagues were out, so it was non-stop, which is why I had to stay a little late. Came home and did a 30 minute strength workout with hand weights on my arms, shoulders and some core work. One shoulder is a little tender, so put the weights away when doing shoulder exercises. Also walked for 20 minutes.
Looking forward to my walk in the morning. I really walking first thing of the day...it helps me clear my head...I feel strong because of just waking up and it just sets the tone for my whole day...
Anybody have plans for the weekend they'd like to share?!! I have a few errands to run, but rain is expected tomorrow, so not sure how much of that will get done. Gotta do some meal planning for the week. At least I got the grocery out of the way...have a wonderful Saturday y'all!

Good morning Shape Shifters. After a short night, we woke up to not so great weather. My mom and I weren't sure what to do; walk or stay home. We decided to wait a little bit until the rain had stopped and then we left at 9:30 to go for a looong walk. I am very glad we didn't stay home because we didn't get any rain, just lots of wind. We saw some fun birds, a lot of mushrooms again and a pretty caterpillar on a tree. We had a nice break at the teahouse. We both had a very simple grilled cheese sandwich and we shared a piece of applepie. It ended up being a little over 13 kilometers for my mom and 10 kilometers for me since I biked the first part again. It was a lot and I was really tired when we got home at 14:00. I cooked for us in the evening and we went to bed early. Happy Saturday everyone
