Hey guys! I am stocked to have been fully on plan coming up to 2 weeks and I am so happy with the weight that has been released so far.... I know it's going to slow down but I love to see a positive change on the scales! Today I officially made it into the 370's! A new decade! and it's a 19lb weight loss from where I was this time 2 weeks ago (my highest ever weight.)

I am wanting to give myself "treats" for every 20lb lost in the first 100lb and since I am coming up to the first 20lb, I am booking a pedicure for me and my mom for Saturday! She has done so much for me lately that i want to treat her too... she deserves it!

But I was wondering if anyone had any like "afternoon" treats that are not at all food-related for every milestone. Has anyone done this? I'd love to know your ideas!

Also- Linda, I was wondering if it's possible to change my highest ever weight to 397.4lb please? That's my highest recorded weight and I really want to see the change of total weight loss as I go. Thanks muchly <3

I will get that changed. You deserve credit for every pound you lost. I did a pedicure when I reached onderland. I should do them more often. Some I can think of is a movie, facial, massage, a new piece of clothing.

    Question:

Do you strength train? Do you do it at home or the gym?

I do! I have taken up strength training just in the last year. I do it at home. Usually lift 35lb weights. I do this everyday 2x for about 10-12 reps on a bench press. I haven't experimented with overhead press, deadlift or squats. What is everyone's favorite strength training?

When I had a gym membership, I loved using free weights.

Wow! Do you go for other walks beside the ones with Monty?

Most of the time he is with me. We take one really long walk in the AM (up to 4.5 miles); then a shorter one in the afternoon. I also am working on the couch to 5k program (on week 4) which I do on the treadmill. I have been out of commission for the last few days (sick with Covid), but did manage a 3 mile walk yesterday. I will have small numbers this week. I feeling better today, but my house is a mess, so skipped the AM walk. I was afraid that if I used the energy for a walk that I wouldn't have any energy to clean up this mess! If I feel better this afternoon, we will probably take a short one.

Good for you getting out there when you are sick. Don’t overdo it. Feel better.

@lindamtuck2018, I hope you enjoyed the movie! & it does feel really good to see the water weight disappear. I also had something that had me feeling under the weather, so I hope you're feeling better.

    @NachDeezy, thank you!

Didn't get to my class last night, but rescheduled it for tonight, so looking forward to it! I haven't done anything so intense in cardio in awhile, so I'm hoping I can keep up okay. Trying not to be too doubtful of myself.

Make sure to tell us how you did. Glad you are on the mend. I am still having some issues with my stomach but it is a lot better.

I am definitely increasing my step goal in November. The pain specialist is impressed that I am increasing my steps. He wants me to try and lengthen the mini walks. I am hoping by January to get to 5,000.

NSV: At the pool this morning, my friend climbed out using the ladder. I told her I haven’t been able to do that for along time. She made me try using the ladder. I did it. I can’t believe it.

Amazingly i have no knee pain at all now! I read that if you keep going through the initial pain your joints etc get stronger and it's so true. You're doing an amazing job .. keep going and you'll reach the top of the mountain!!

Thank you. And congrats on your own nsa, managing the pool steps! I could always lift myself onto the steps but used to worry i wouldn't fit between the 2 bars🤣🤣🤣

The photo is Calpe in Spain. Been here 10 days, enough time to explore the whole area and I've loved it. Moving on today, an overnight stop at the longest underground cave system in Spain, then onto Peniscola - its been on my bucket list since i was about 15 ... they filmed El Cid there a really old film, but i saw the beach and castle and new i wanted to go!

    Vacation Notice

I will be on vacation from 10/28 to 11/12

I haven't decided if I'm taking my travel scale with me.
Translation: Will I have enough room available to bring it without going over my weight limit :)

I will have internet from 10/28 to 11/2 ~ not sure after that...

My main goals for November won't be changing -(lose 4 pounds, strength train 3 days, stretch or tai chi one day, 17K steps daily). But will add the following:
    • Make it through the Thanksgiving holiday with just a small hiccup - then get right back on track.
    • Up my morning walk to 5 miles (I am adding a half mile every month - hoping to do a 10K on Jan 1).
    • Reach my 2,023 fitbit miles in 2023 in November
    • Progress to week 5 of couch to 5k (am doing two rounds of each week before I proceed to the next week, currently on my second round of week 3)
    • Move from the "obese" category to "overweight"
