Breakfast tends to be same thing, weeks, months on end. I recently changed out English muffin for 2 toast... with pb and chocolate whey protein powder in grande coffee.

A few days ago, swapped 1 of the toast for a clementine. Was looking at old diaries for data for doc, and i've been eating some combo of this since maybe 2012? And, still not tired of it.

When i go keto, just 1 clementine, no bread, add in whip cream topper on coffee.

My other go to is an egg scramble with some combo meats, veggies, cheese, spices/pace, dollop sour cream... with toast or english muffin unless doing keto, then tangerine instead of bread,

I literally just scrambled 1 egg and 2 whites with a tiny spritz of butter flavored non-stick spray and salt and pepper. I just needed some protein and calories and had slept short and poorly: long night at work, late to bed, power went out for an hour while I was sleeping, resulting in loss of ceiling fan and other fan and A/C while it was 98F/37C outside, so I woke up flushed and sweaty, an hour earlier than my alarm. I was not in a mood to cook.

The I made myself a lovely Chai and that improved my mood, lol

I can't drink coffee. For 1, I can't have caffeine. For 2, coffee is too acidic. Both would cause a flare on their own, much less together.

Gotta have my coffee! Hubby has to have decaf so we make a pot of that each morning. But it’s not the same. If I’m out I’ll always get REAL coffee.

I will admit that coffee is POTENTIALLY not helping me in some respects. ((reference: the pesky newly discovered probably quite old and possibly stemming from previous physique problems. or might stem from even earlier because I recall a time in my teens (who said smoking from 15 to 25 was a good idea?) when I "cut down on coffee" (but not cigarettes) because I was feeling "heart flutterings" and that goes all the way back to 15/16))

But I am being "good-ish" and I've cut down my coffee from 55g of coffee and the 8/900ml big pot to 37g of coffee and the 532ml big thermos cup! Well. Plus the occasional coke zero or three. Or outside coffee... but I do try decaf -- and Yooly is RIGHT.... it AIN'T the same!

Today's edition of breakfast: the aforementioned 532g of black gold. 3x 57g of egg white veggie "patties" (veggies done right egg white delights or something like that from our friends at Costco) for about 210 Cal. And 18g of white bread patially toasted... cause I had to leave the other, full, slice for fluffy since I can't run out to the store to get more till later.... so I ate the leftover crust/edge!

Yup - hubby’s no real coffee is cardio related. If he does caffeine, doc said also to drink an equal amount of plain water 💧. Dilutes the caffeine effect? Don’t know, but he’s good about following the instructions. Me - I love the caffeine 🩷

3/4 cup 2% good culture cottage cheese, 3oz of chopped Cucumber, 2oz of chopped cherry tomatoes, 1/2 oz of finely diced white onion (because it's what I had instead of red), splash of white vinegar (cause I had no red wine vinegar, lol) and copious black pepper and kosher salt. Looks revolting, shockingly tasty.

No - sounds tasty! 👅 There used to be a “flavored” commercially sold cottage cheese called Garden Cottage Cheese. It was cottage cheese, chopped green peppers and onion. A nice savory protein.

It was a riff on cucumber/tomato salad. The cottage cheese (which is very small curd and fairly dry as cottage cheese goes), just soaks up all the flavors and provides substance, with the cucumber providing crunch.

You kids are going to make me go get cottage cheese again. So far it has never been finished. Though at various times I've made inroads... actually I think ONE was finished. But I mixed it into greek yogurt!!!!

Yes! I had a time period where i used (cajun) blackening seasoning liberally, and loved it on cottage cheese.

It (commercial variety) has salt, so tend to use cayenne pepper now along with onion and garlic powders, plus other flavor type like Italian (oregano for ex) or Asian (with ginger, etc.... )

2 egg, smoked ham, peppers and onions, shred cheese, and garnish sour cream wrapped in taco sized corn tortilla, clementine and 1/2 portion protein chocolate powder in coffee. (450 cals, 31g carbs.)

I really like the LOOK of that cottage cheese... actually both the before and after stirring ones... I'm almost tempted!

I again had 3x57g "veggies done right" egg white delights or whatever the bleep they're called... the little costco hockey puck shaped nukeable frittatas that come in at 70 Cal per 57g. Plus a 57g hamburger bun. one puck per half plus a spare!

With a "small" quantity of black coffee about 370 Cal!

Are these the egg thingies? The spinach I think are okay but the mushroom ones are really good. Hard to find though and ten calories more.

Top ones are the ***only*** ones we get up here.... to date! They look NICE (the mushroom ones)

Indeed they ARE the ones I was "talking" about!!!! Awesomely handy little pucks.

Though someone who overheard me talking about them started muttering about how easy and better they would be if she cooked them from scratch.

I don't doubt that people might be able to cook even nicer tasting ones; but I actually happen to think that these are quite well done and that they offer a great caloric value.

Well yes, they are better and cheaper home made. But you’re not a home made kind of guy so these little gems suit your lifestyle.

    Well they look yummy!

I only have jumbo muffin size tin, or i'd give it a home whirl. Made extra in a pan this morning tho, so after extra cools, will wrap & freeze from inspired share ;)

@PAV8888 the trick for me with cottage cheese was finding one I like. Basically, I won't buy any old, I only buy cottage cheese when I can find the good culture brand 2%

Another torn rotisserie chicken breast, grilled onion bell peppers, ham pan drippings in a 2 egg shred cheese scramble, topped with sour cream over toast. 1/2 portion chocolate whey stirred into grande coffee. (484 cals, 22g carbs.)

    615Cal!🤯 Indian! More like brunch!

Coffee. Blue menu chicken masala and MTR (vegetablesl) navratan korma, minus the rice from the chicken (saved for later), plus a hamburger bun toasted 🤷‍♂️😎 hey. It was ready fast (freezer farm to table in 7 minutes!!!🤣).... and it has covered 7 hours so far ... so within parameters!!!!😜

@Adventurista why would you NOT make the egg white frittatas in a giant muffin size tin? Calories should be ok though they may be harder to re-heat from frozen if they're large!

So I ended up with a 2% plain greek yogurt instead of 0% and I am still trying to wrap my head as to why it is supposed to be worth the extra Calories!

While I don't feel it is INFERIOR to 0%, I haven't quite figured out WHETHER it is clearly superior-- much less superior enough to justify and extra 20% calories!

In any case... I still had 500g left. And I started along the lines of making a "desert"... shoestring carrots 103g were in! The 80g of plain basmati rice left-over from the chicken masala dinner was in. Was looking for raisins and the sucralose.... AND CHANGED DIRECTION! Added 5.5g of lemon pepper seasoning instead. Would have added some garlic powder too had I stumbled upon it... but it was good enough anyway!

More like this will be coming down the pipeline!

lol, feel like i went on a dessert turns savory adventure there Pav!

i have also been using plain greek yogurt. my fav is dessert - i stir in pb2 powder, coco protein powder, fruit, hwip topping. Tart, so muddled fruit helps but I also splash in a bit of tart liquid fruit juice and then some vanilla extract to enhance sweet notes. The added juice/liquid is needed for the pb and cocoa powders. The vanilla and whipcream for parfait bites ameliorates the tart. drooling now - might have that for lunch!

    my juice
    p9ko1ynoo01r.jpg

double portion shown below with craisins & chopped nuts, stirred then bites eaten with squirt of whip if I have not taken time to layer in pretty parfait cup ;)

I made my cottage cheese bowl again. And now I am out of tomatoes and cucumbers and nearly out of cottage cheese, so will redirect tomorrow. We leave for vacation Thursday so trying to use up all the odds and bobs.
