Vail im glad your doc has added thryoid.. i know its tough to make time for something like bloodwork when you're still working but i hope you can get in and get it done quickly.. lol on the blood test ticking.. i think after the first time when nobody noticed it got easier LOLOLOL..

I can only imagine actually how good it must feel to know that you got some answers, and that a lot of stuff is now starting to make sense in a way it didnt before.. oh no on ND women having a much worse time with meno… ackkkk that seems so unfair !!!! meno is bad enuf let alone if u have "extra" worse!! please keep us updated .. oh and the driving to exercise thing?? i gotta say… i'm with ya there… i used a bunch of videos during covid to do stuff at home but sadly. its kinda easy to cheat at home vs in a class or at the gym.. so i cheated a lot .. i really hope they can find out the reason behind the fatigue especially.. when youre exhausted all the time you have no desire to do anything!!

a friend of mine just sent me a giggle she had a mammo recently… it said "why do they call it a mammogram instead of an inbreastigation 😁 i have to admit.. i laughed out loud.. good question!!

Well, I went to the gym today for the exercise on prescription referral. I'm a bit disappointed. I've got a few simple exercises to do, all of which I could do at home, apart from the treadmill, and it doesn't seem worth all the bother of driving to the gym (driving is painful) and paying for it. But I suppose I should do it. Must try to be more positive. I think I was hoping maybe for something a bit more social, but because I'm not able for the classes, it's not possible. It would be nice if there were a little group of us who were accessing this exercise programme together.

Nothing exciting that I can see in my blood results, just my kidney disease. So the tiredness is still a mystery.

Anyway, I noticed that there is now pickleball in my area! I don't think I could do it just now, but maybe something to aspire to trying later.

    Inbreastigation: so funny!

Inbreastigation! Haha! So funny! Hello y’all! Sorry I’ve been out for so long. There’s been a lot going on and I’m so exhausted by it all. Things with the woman’s club aren’t letting up, grandkids always take priority, my daughter’s third child is due mid-November and she’s been having some issues, dad’s funeral went really well and I had family staying with me, mom has really been lonely so I try to spend time with her. My poor husband doesn’t get much of my time. There’s no time for myself. Ugh.

I’m going to a new doctor for my annual physical with bloodwork on Thursday. I just know it will be bad news. I’ve put on weight and am so out of shape. I know my A1C will be high, along with my triglycerides and maybe blood pressure. This new doctor is an internal medicine doctor who specializes in nutrition and weight control. We’ll see what happens. Maybe it will be the kick in the behind that I need.

Vail, I’m sorry you’re going through so much all at the same time. Sometimes I actually hope there is something wrong with my thyroid because at least I would know why I’m so fatigued. I just want answers because it can’t be normal! Did your doctor offer any suggestions for your fatigue?

Snoozie, I would feel so discouraged if they told me to exercise more and I was already doing as much as you. I agree though that if they’re not doing another scan for another three years then they can’t be too concerned.

omg i typed a huge reply . hit post.. and it disappeared!! so im going to just do a mini version in which vail i totally understand why you were hoping for a more social aspect re the script referral for the gym… when you're doing something tedious (which is exercise for me) its way more fun and engaging if you have a few other people going thru it with you in person… which is why i have never gone down to the gyms in my building.. i'd be all on my own.. im sorry the bloodwork didnt give any indication as to the fatigue both u and suzy are experiencing if its any consolation i am too… honestly i am tired all the time even when i've slept im still tired all the time .. i dont know why even on down days where its a me day.. im exhausted … it can't be normal for any of us i dont think… keep us updated on how it goes if you do continue vail?Suzy i know its intimidating going to a new doc .. and i get being worried about the bloodwork results.. i flip flop sometimes.. i prefer to play ostrich and figure if i dont know.. it doesnt exist.. the nother times im like ok i wanna know and lets see what things are within my control (and what isn't) .. so i get it.. please let us know how it went.im sorry to hear your daughter is having issues with this pregnancy will send up good vibes that all goes well for her; i know it must be worrying. its nice you are trying to spend more time with your mom considering all the directions you are being pulled in for everyone.. hang in there!ok im going to copy this before i hit post this time.. fingers crossed!!

What a pain, Snoozie! At least it finally posted. Thanks for persevering!

I saw my new doctor this week. They drew blood and we talked a bit about what’s going on with me. She scared the crap out of me. It sounded like I’m on death’s door. I go back in two weeks (because I’m out of town for a week) to go over the results. She basically told me that it’s time for medication intervention. She will do the actual physical when I go back. I keep saying I’m going to get serious…she’s going to make sure that I do. No telling how many meds I’ll be taking. I liked her though. I think she will really hold me accountable.

We watched the grandkids this weekend (ages 2 and 5). I’m exhausted….even more than usual. lol.

How completely frustrating, Snoozie! I don't know what it is with this website but it's so hit and miss whether I get notifications, and things don't post, or post twice.

I'm sorry that you both are experiencing this fatigue. Life doesn't get any easier as you get older, does it? I think grief is kind of exhausting too, Suzy, so you have that going on too, and you sound so busy supporting your mom and looking after the grandchildren. I babysit sometimes and it completely wipes me out with just one child. That's a bit of a shocker about the doctor's appointment, but she sounds good. Maybe the medications will be helpful. I know none of us want to be on them, but I've been on a bucketload for almost 20 years now and I just accept that they're keeping me that bit safer (still got all the work to do for my health otherwise of course).

I'm just starting to surface after having flu last week. I have my flu vaccination at the weekend, so it slipped in early, ha ha! I'm completely wiped out with it. On the plus side I have lost weight with it, and my hip pain has improved due to the rest!

  • Snooozie
    Snooozie Posts: 3,502 Member

NOPE my post never made it Vail that's why i went via private msg to both of you… omg vail sorry you got the flu!! darn that it got in before u got the shot.. ours start here next week. I hope you are starting to feel a little better the flu is brutal… i guess the only win is the hip pain has improved from the mandatory resting!

  • suzyqholland
    suzyqholland Posts: 1,412 Member

Vail, I’m glad your hip pain is better but hate that it’s because the flu knocked you out of commission for awhile. Mine has been better lately. Not sure why.

I saw my lab work results online and have my doctor appointment in about a week. The results were not good. My A1C put me at the lowest number for diabetes. I’m hoping she won’t put me on meds and we try to manage it with lifestyle changes but I’m betting that she will prescribe something. My cholesterol was about the same but it’s high. I’ve been eating much better this week and am hoping that if I lose a few pounds before my appointment then she will see that I’m serious about making lifestyle changes. My husband is on board and I’m not buying all the chips, cookies, ice cream and sweets that he likes anymore. His doctor called and said his CT scan showed some additional plaque buildup so he’s willing to make some changes, too. I’ll let you know how my appointment goes next week.

We’re driving to Kansas City now to go to a funeral service for a friend. I hate sitting in the car for nine hours. At least it keeps me away from food! lol

The weather has been so pleasant that I’m hoping to get out and walk regularly once I get back home.

How is your dad doing, Vail? Snoozie, has didn’t your sister have a transplant or something serious not too long ago? How is she doing?

My dad has a dementia diagnosis now, Suzy. So I think he will decline, sadly. I haven't seen him for a while because it's difficult travelling at the moment, but hope I can soon. He lives alone and doesn't want carers or anything. I'm trying to sort things out for him remotely across countries (Scotland/England) with different legal systems, health systems, etc. and finding it difficult.

I'm sorry about your results, Suzy. So frustrating to have crossed that threshold, but least you're saying it's the lowest number, and you've already made changes. I think it's amazing that your husband is on board. I'm sure that will make it much easier, now that you both have the motivation. I honestly think those things you mention like chips, cookies, etc. are addictive. If he breaks the habit and you don't have them in the house it will help - I'm saying all this while having stuff that I shouldn't have in the house! But I've always thought since my son moved out that at least it's just me I'm buying food for and it's easier to control, and would always think about how difficult it must be if you're buying/cooking for more than one! That's good that your pain has improved! I'm really pleased! And hope you enjoy your walks.

I am taking a long time to recover from the flu. I also lost my beloved cat and am grieving him. My dad's dementia diagnosis was the same day. I've also had an autism diagnosis (to add to the ADHD), and just feeling fragile and processing everything. I've lost a lot of weight, which obviously I needed to lose but it's been very quick. I'm hoping at least it kind of resets my eating. I'm still too tired to cook but I'm having stuff delivered that needs very minimal cooking (air fryer or microwave)

I'm so sorry about your dad, Vail. Nothing prepares us to say that long goodbye to our parents with dementia. It's very hard. My drive to see my parents was only and hour and fifteen minutes, I can't imagine them being so far away. Mom is now an hour away and that's hard enough. She has settled into a routine without dad and is doing okay. We go to lunch every Wednesday and then play cards or dominoes all afternoon until dinner, then I drive home while she goes to dinner with her friends. She's 92 and I can't imagine her being around a whole lot longer but you never know. I hope you can find a solution for your dad's care. My heart and thoughts are with you on that one.

I met with my doctor today to go over my labs. I'll be starting statins to get my cholesterol into a healthier range. She wanted to put me on Wegovy, which is a GLP1 injection once a week for weight loss and diabetes management. I told her that I don't want to go on the Wegovy. Realistically, if you start taking it then you have to stay on it….forever. She said a very high percentage of people who go off of it gain back their weight. I sincerely think I can lose the weight and get my A1C under control without medication. We're going to give it three months and do more labs. She will check my cholesterol levels to make sure they are lowering with the statins and check my A1C to see if lifestyle changes are doing the trick. I have lost eight pounds in the last two weeks with changing my eating habits and I'm highly motivated now. I also have my husband onboard because he got lab results that he didn't like, as well. We've started a meal delivery service called Hungry Root. So far we have really enjoyed the meals and they're very easy and quick so I'm likely to stick with it. Now we need to get back to our walking routine.

We're heading to Arkansas for our annual hiking trip with my husband's brother and sister this weekend. I'm so out of shape that I hope I can even do the day hikes. I've got to start somewhere though.

I hope you're both doing well and getting ready for cooler weather! It has been unbelievably pleasant here lately…perfect weather for walking and hiking. It's hard to get motivated when it's super cold or snowy outside.

I have a friend who is using one of those drugs, not Wegovy but a similar one. She's using it for weight loss as she has some health issues and wasn't getting anywhere with dieting. She has been great on it, no side effects at all, and eating healthily. I've also been hearing about heart benefits from it, independent of weight loss (although I haven't looked into this much and no doubt the research is funded by the drug companies!). I think I would consider it myself. But as you say, it only works while you're taking it, and you don't want to be on it for life. I just don't know. I feel I might want to get the results, then stop and do the work on maintaining at that level. But no point, if I wasn't able to do that and possibly ended up worse than when I started! So I don't know. It's a big decision taking any medication and they're never completely 100% risk free. Interesting that your doctor says so many people gain the weight back.

It sounds like your plan to do it yourself is working very well anyway. 8lb is absolutely amazing! Really well done! And now you have had that success and have broken your old pattern of eating, I bet it will be easier to stick to. Especially with your hubby on board. I love the idea of the meal delivery service! It will be nice not having to do thinking part of what to cook! And maybe a good way to try new things too.

I hope you have a lovely hiking trip. It's great that you've had good weather there. The same here, summer was too hot for me, and although it's not great weather I'm enjoying it being cool.

I'm going to try again on a post but im going to type it then copy it in case it disappears again! I just made a big pot of vegetable soup as it has cooled down a little here today… so figure i can get some in the freezer too for next month when its likely to actually start getting cold lol..

Vail i hope maybe you are starting to feel a little better from your awful flu.. i just got my flu shot yesterday but it takes 2 weeks to kick in .. and omg everywhere i go indoors people are hacking and sneezing and coughing .. it seems no one bothers to cover their mouth anymore when they are doing that? i was brought up that way but during covid, it really became a habit so i dont know why people just think its fine to not at least put a hand over their mouth lol

Suzy…. holy cow 8 lbs! Thats amazing… talk about a kick start way to go!! well done you! I'm truly surprised your doc recommended wegovy for you as you said your A1C was high but you are not diabetic - insulin resistant yes and i get wanting to lower the A1C . .but wegovy is one of the semiglutemides.. i dont understand why she juts wouldnt put you on a small dose of metformin pills every day.. its kind of the "mildest" ways to help bring down your daily sugars and A1C .. so the wegovy seems like its kind of a big leap .. but that said.. i was on metformin for about 10 yrs and at times when i messed up and went higher my doc added juvenet and tried another one along with, but i couldnt tolerate it.. one of its side effects was yeast infections and omg… they were constant!! anyway.. then she put me on one of the semiglutimides the one i use is Rybelsus.. its a once a day pill.. and with that added i was able to drop the metformin altogether after about 6 months i think.. so thats all i take now is the one rybelsus a day As vail said, and my doc said.. there may be some heart health nd weight loss benefits to all the semis.. i think i lost about 8 pounds over several months when i first went on rybelsus, but that was beacuse i suddenly lost my cravings for anything sweet.. (i found it again tho sadly lol) …

anyway im glad you said you wanted to see if you could do it on your own with lifestyle changes cause it seems like you've already made a huge start !! i am ok with meds.. they are a tool when needed.. and i've been on a statin for about 10 yrs now.. keep an eye out for muscle pains on the statin btw.. i dont know what dose your on but if i recall my doc told me that when i first went on them.. but my memory is a bit hazy… haha

I've been on a statin for over 18 years now. Various ones over the years as they kept changing due to drug interactions, etc. I'm not aware of having any issues from them (apart from getting vague GI symptoms with all my drugs - I have IBS which doesn't help!). My cholesterol levels have been good over those 18 years.

    suzyqholland Posts: 1,412 Member

You know, she didn’t even mention a pill. Just went straight to the Wegovy injections. Maybe because she truly believes in it and has seen it have a great result with heart issues as well. I’m just not ready to go there. I still might but I don’t want to be giving myself injections every day for the rest of my life. My A1C was a 6.5 and that’s the lowest number measurement for diabetes but she’s okay with me trying the lifestyle change first. If it doesn’t go down at all over the next three months then I’ll probably do the Wegovy. Ugh.

My biggest challenge will be making time to exercise. Snoozie do you still do the online classes? Do either of you know of a good YouTube or app for Pilates? I think I’m going to really try and do it at home before paying for a studio or something. We’re still paying for a gym membership and not using it. Maybe I’ll try that but the classes are at inconvenient times for me and they are packed!

November 18th is the big day when our fourth grandchild and second granddaughter arrives. My daughter is having a scheduled c-section. I’ll be watching the other two kids (2 and 5) at her house for five nights…getting them ready for school, dropping them off, picking them up, taking them to swim lessons, making them dinner, baths and bed. It’s going to wear me out. I’m tired just thinking about it. My husband will be on his own unless he wants to come over for dinner. lol.

Hi Vail! She is so ready to have this baby and be done with it. We kept the kids overnight on Saturday to give her some time to rest. It’s going to be so difficult for me to get up every morning at 6:30 while I’m watching the kids. I’ll have to go to bed when they do. Lol. Maybe I will actually become a morning person!

I’ve been doing okay with my eating. I’ve given up sweets and I’ve been able to stick to it. I’ve been going over my intended calories but not by much. My problem is that I can’t seem to make time for exercising. I’ve got to seriously work on that.

How’s your dad doing, Vail? What ever happened with your knee(?) or was it your hip?

Yes, maybe go to bed when they do! Especially if they have their longest sleep at the beginning of the night. Or hopefully they sleep through (my grandson doesn't - nowhere near!). I'm up by 6.30 normally, but there's a difference between getting up on your own, and getting up to sort out two children as well!

Well done on the eating! It sounds like you have kept that motivation going. I need to follow your example with the sweets, because I know when I've given up before, I don't really crave them that much.

My dad's OK, thanks, but slowly deteriorating. I'm a bit worried about him with the winter coming. It's my hip! Still on the waiting list. It looks like they've now got quite a backlog so I don't know when it will be. I've been travelling a little bit over the past week or so, and unfortunately, it was really too much for me. I think I have to accept that some things are on hold until after the op.

I'm also babysitting my grandson occasionally, and that's quite tiring! He is a delight, though!

    Hi Suzy, Vail…

Before i forget Suzy.. i tried Pilates but alas.. like yoga.. isn't something i can do however the "senior shape" videos with Lauren (who i really like) has about 4 or 5 pilates videos all free.. some standing some on the floor.. this is the link to one of the Pilates ones but she has all sorts like strength and stretch and yoga and stuff… (i find i can't stand a lot of the people leading these online ones.. but i really like her lol)

ok now that i remembered that.. suzy…. a couple in my retiree group are now babysitting their 2 yr old grandson 5 days a week from 630am to 630pm to help out their daughter… plus looking after the wife's parents.. both of which BOTH you and Vail are or have experienced… honest to god i do not know how at our age they are doing it.. a lot in our group will babysit their g/kids occasionally for a day here or there or a weekend, and they're exhausted just from that!! i totally get them wanting to help out their daughter, but its exhausting them tbh… and we never get to see them anymore cause they can;t come to any events.. i know everyone loves their g/kids but you become so isolated when you're a full time parent again there's a reason we have kids when we are young - too hard to keep up with little ones full time!

Vail im so sorry to hear your hip is giving you such a hard time… are you on a cancellation list (do u have those there?) in case an opening comes up now that the wait list is getting longer? One of my friends was sched for sept but it started to get so bad it curtailed her activities too.. and a cancellation came up for July and she took it.. even tho she had planned a vacation back home (in Quebec) for that time..i hope if possible you get word soon about when you can get yours! i'm sorry to hear your dad isnt doing well and i totally get with the distance and winter.. its going to be even more worriesome for you… sending gentle hugs.

All is good here… nothing much new.. had another flood but this one was small compared to the big one last year.. lol been busy with the retiree group; and i've started taking Tai Chi classes.. i dunno if i told u.. they are FREE and happen every morning, 6 days a week at 830am inside a shopping mall (before it opens).. it's about a 20 min drive for me.. i found it by chance while waiting to take stupid free yoga class there one day.. a friend dragged me to it and the TC class was happening before the yoga. so i was watching it and thot .. hmm maybe i'll try that.. it moves all the body parts and stretches everything, and there is a lot of weight bearing movement.. you shift your weight for each move onto one leg etc.. anyway i went to one.. and another.. and now i go every morning and im actually shocked that i love it.. lol i've been going for about 2 months now.. i still look about as graceful as a ruptured gazelle next to eeryone else.. most of them have been doing it for years but everyone is soooo kind and encouraging and this last week i am actually finding i'm starting to know the routines without having to watch someone else constantly lol.. but im really liking it much to my surprise altho getting up every morning at 645am is starting to wear on me i must admit LOLOL…

    suzyqholland Posts: 1,412 Member

I would love to try Tai Chi so I’m very jealous! I’ll look for the videos, thank you! Now if you’ll just come down here and make me do it. lol. I’ve managed to lose a few more pounds. I find myself making healthier decisions now. This might be the first time that I truly feel like I’m changing my lifestyle not going on a diet.

I can’t imagine going on a wait list to have a surgery. We are so spoiled here with our health care. I hope you get in quickly, Vail. It must be so frustrating to make the decision and then have to wait so long. Taking care of little ones is really hard on the body in so many ways. I feel for your friends who are doing it full time, Snoozie. My daughter dropped a few hints about me doing that for the baby so that she doesn’t have to start daycare so young. I just can’t commit to that. She understands but I feel a bit guilty. I’ll still be her go-to caregiver if the kids are sick though.

Our Thanksgiving holiday is coming up quickly. It’s mainly all about food so wish me luck. My focus will be on portion control and healthy options. I know I’ll want wine or my beloved G&T’s, so I’ll just have to limit myself to one….or two.

I can’t believe you had another flood, Snoozie! Thank goodness it wasn’t as bad this time. You just got through the last one!

    Snooozie Posts: 3,502 Member

Honestly Suzy.. i don't think my friends were prepared at our age to become full time parents again… which is basically what they are.. especially where the little one is mobile now.. i have other friends who simply said no sorry.. like you, they will help out if the kid is sick and enjoy having their g/kids over, but had no desire to become full time caregivers for their grandchildren in retirement.. obviously everyone has to do what is right for them, but i personally believe parents don't need to feel guilty at all about saying no to becoming full time caregivers for their grandkids.. you did it already with your own kids.. and probably without a lot of help from anyone and most likely one or both of u were also working outside the home while u raised yours.. it's ok to say no it doesnt mean you dont love them, it just means no LOL..

wAY TO GO on losing more weight - and that you're seeing your choices as a lifestyle change and NOT a diet!! That's awesome…. i did laugh at your comment about your Thanksgiving.. we have TG in Canada about a month before yours.. same deal with the turkey and family gatherings etc.. I don't normally do anything as its just me… but this year i did go to a restaurant for their TG dinner.. complete with all the fixings like stuffing (or dressing? not sure what u call it there lol) even the pumpkin pie… however i did ask for a take out container to be brought with my dinner because frankly the dinner came on a small platter instead of a plate.. so i scooped out some of everythign right into the container before i started cause there was just sooooo much!! i did dig out some more of the stuffing haha… but took the rest home and had another nice dinner out of it the next day. You can't do that at home tho lol. and its' a whole different story when it's all laid out and available - so i say just enjoy … it's a "one off" celebration meal.. and have a G&T … because youre not breaking any diet… a lifestyle change is just that.. changing your NORMAL… while still allowing for those occasional special celebrations then back to normal….

That was so smart, getting a take out container with the meal. Restaurants serve such big portions. I guess it’s to justify the prices they charge.

Just popping in quickly as I'm rushing out to work. I think you said your daughter was delivering today, Suzy? I hope it all goes well - you will no doubt be very busy with the other grandchildren. I hope it's not too exhausting. Best wishes to your daughter.

I know people do the takeaway container and I think it's a great idea, but I can't bring myself to do it, as I obsess about how long that food has been sitting at room temperature!

That must be hard on your friends who do full-time childcare, even if fit and active. I definitely would struggle with my hip. There's a reason I don't work full-time any more! A couple of my friends do one day a week which is quite nice. There is some funding now here for childcare, and my son and daughter in law have both arranged for certain days off work, so I'm not needed on a particular day. But they do find it really useful to have somebody nearby who can pick up or take him for a couple of hours, and I love to do it. It's such a massive commitment to do regular childcare, and one of the worries was that I might need to take time off for my hip operation and they'd be stuck.

We have another granddaughter! Mother and baby are doing well! I’ve got at least four days of childcare now but they’re in daycare and school during the day. I think I’ve mentioned before that my daughter’s pantry looks like a twelve year old’s. So much candy, chips, cookies and junk food with not a vegetable in sight. I’m taking over some of the latter and avoiding all the other stuff. I’m able to come home for breakfast and lunch. Everything I eat I think about my three month blood work. I want to know that I did everything possible to lower my A1C. If it doesn’t come down then I’ll know for sure that I need medication for diabetes. If it does come down then I’ll know I’m on right track and not go on medication. I really don’t want to do the glp1 injections for the rest of my life. Hopefully the low dose statins will help with my cholesterol.

CONGRATULATIONS on your new baby grand daughter Suzy! Glad to hear mom and the new arrival are both doing well.. im so glad at least the kids are in daycare and school during the day! haha on the pantry.. good on ya for being so consistent in your goal and doing workarounds to make sure you have what you need to do so!! extra kudos for doing it while providing daycare and support to your daughter as well!

i think i told you my sister ended up with type 2 diabetes after her transplant.. its not uncommon apparently and some of the anti rejection drugs she takes can kick up her blood sugar, so helping her learn how eating and exercise affect her blood sugars has benefitted me in reminding me how to work at keeping it level and avoiding the spikes..

if i could offer one piece of completely unsolicited advice… when possible, always eat a few bites of fibre first in a meal, then a bite or 2 of protein before hitting the carbs.. so in a typical dinner for me, say chicken with broccoli, carrots and potatos.. i'll eat a piece of broccoli and a piece of chicken first, then just eat the rest normallly in whatever order or however i want.. getting that little bit of fibre and protein in you first, helps slow down any rush of sugar from the carbs thru the meal. its worked really well for my sister, she's in the habit now of just popping a bite or 2 of those in first. again totally unsolicited advice lol.. but its a small thing that can make a diff (specially in something like your TG meal..

Vail thats awesome your son and wife have the assistance for childcare avail - and awesome you can help out when necessary!! you get to enjoy the little guy when you want without worrying as you said about committing and perhaps not being able to keep at it if the surgery comes up (which i am crossing my fingers for you happens soon!)

more later.. the fire alarm in my building went off at 0130hrs and i couldnt sleep well after so im a bit groggy… and running late for my tai chi class.. seems no matter how early i get up im still running out the door.. how did i ever manage to get to work on time for 40 yrs lol

Thanks for the tip, Snoozie. I’ll try any and everything! I’ve really been hungry the last few days but I think it’s because I’m off my routine and running around a ton more. At least I’m still not craving sweets!

Did you have to roll out of bed and evacuate the building? What a way to be woken up!

lol no on the evacuate.. we usually wait for the fire trucks to arrive.. i overlook the parking lot so if the firefighters are walking in vs running.. we know it's usually a false alarm LOL (plus the concierge makes an announcement which goes to every unit that the FD are on the way ..( they are doing a lot of work in our underground garage and have set it off a few times during the day.. but no idea what set this one off at 130am.

i suspect part of your hunger is that youve been running your butt off Suzy!! so you are working up an apetite! if you're hungry make sure you eat.. even if its just some cheese and crackers or some nuts.. if you go too long without eating your blood sugar starts to spikes.. i started carrying a nut protein bar with me in my purse (it's prolly expired by now lol) and i keep a bag of peanuts in the glove box of the car.. just in case i find myself starving and know its gonna be a while before i can actually eat. Yesterday i threw a babybel cheese in my pocket to take to TC lol (do you have those? the little rounds of cheese in wax?) they had a bag of 18 on sale for $10 at our local grocery store the other day so i grabbed them just to have on hand for "emergency" hunger lol
