Sorry. It’s been a rough week here too. A little stress. On Wednesday, all of the Associate teachers (me) got called in for a meeting. I had a feeling what it might be about. They are cutting us all back to part time (8-1), cutting our pay $10,000 and no more healthcare or retirement. POW! With the benefits we are currently receiving is over a $25k cut plus we have to go find health insurance. To get an equivalent policy to what I currently have, it would cost $1,200 a month. 😳 I also learned from this meeting that we Associates are all getting the same salary. The 22 year old who just got out of college and me who has been a lead teacher for over twenty years. Great for the 22 year old. Not so much for me. So my decision to apply for the lead position was made for me. I was mad that I was forced into it at first because I was still undecided. But once I updated my resume and wrote a new cover letter I felt good and excited. I know I am the most qualified for the position. I already taught first grade there for 5 years and things I created are still being used. That said, getting the position is no guarantee. So whatever happens happens. If they don’t choose me, I will know they are not interested in the most qualified person. I’ll figure out next steps. I did go back to the class and stress eat chicken nuggets that belonged to a student who was absent. (She wasn’t going to be back for days to save them. ) And there has been a lot of eating out. So that gain is to be expected.
I’ll let you know how it goes. But I concur we should be paid for our experience.6 -

@micki48 that is horrendous! and halfway through the school year!! "POW" is right. So sorry that you have to deal with all that - applying for the other position, finding healthcare, less hours. Ugh on ugh.
We got teased with snow today - flakes came down for less than an hour and did not accumulate but I got my walk in while it was falling which was nice. I tweaked something in my neck getting out of bed yesterday so I decided not to snowboard today. I hope it feels better soon, very annoying. I'll try to ski the next two weekends in a row instead.
Weekend eating is a real mess for me lately. I just don't have enough things planned from the prior Sunday so I end up either doing takeout or random snacks. Rarely enough protein. Something to improve on.5 -

Sorry, meant to post this on Friday!
My husband and I went out to dinner to celebrate Valentine’s Day, so I am not surprised that this is high. It is also TOM for me which usually leads to some water retention for me.
I’ve also been weighing myself again every day, and my average weight from last week to this week is down by 1 lb overall. I will continue to monitor those trends and adjust my caloric needs.
A better week in terms of exercise, even with working late most days. I’ve already pre-planned my workouts for this upcoming week with two themed spin classes, two circuit training classes, and two yoga classes. I did sign up for one of the circuit classes to be at 6:15am in the morning which means I’ll have to be out the door by 5:50, but that should be feasible. I’ll just make sure to bring my coffee with me on the drive over to finish before the class.4 -

@ChelleChelle1031 Way to slay those goals!!! What an amazing week you’ve had.
Thanks for the support friends. @Kali225 The change is actually for next year. They just have us the heads up now so we can plan I guess. But yeah, still stinks. Also congrats on the great loss.
@strong_fit_ells Love to see a photo of your new puppy 🐶
Happy birthday to Brad. Ashley, I wish you a restful day.
Chilly day here. I’m feeling like turkey needs to be on the menu tonight. Now to find one not frozen.
Have a great day everyone.

Well my step game was down and clearly I wasn’t paying attention so close to my goal so many days. I’ll do better this week.

Greetings Friends,
@micki48 it makes me so cross when cost-cutting decisions are made that actually affect such far-reaching consequences for real people.
At least you have a bit of time to make some changes of your own.
I'm thinking of you.
@strong_fit_ells I can't wait to see pictures of your new puppy! We have reached out to a local dog shelter and put our names down for a new rescue dog to join our little family.
Take care, my friends!3 -
It has been a good day - had a lovely Jasper session, even if he did not appreciate the return to "whoa kindergarten". He has been feeling rather strong and isn't always stopping when asked nicely. He'll get back his manners soon, I hope! Otherwise, we did some good pattern work, and plenty of cantering (his favourite part). I did overdo it on my favourite snack (seeds, nuts, dried fruit mixture), but hopefully worked most of it off. On the bike tonight - 10 miles of penance
Hats off and Tiaras ON for our top 3 losers - well done @cleaneater80 @MaddawgMadsen and @zankash23 ! Some nice percentages there. Onward ho!4 -

Hi Team, Not much going on here, I think I found my shoes for my trip. I am happy with them, I just need to go on a few hikes with them, but I have time. I am definitely an over planner.
Had a good weekend, got a massage on Saturday, that woman was tough, I was pretty sore the following day, felt like a workout, but it was that good sore feeling. I spring cleaned my house on Sunday, I'm not sure what got into me. I was scrubbing everything... I need to get rid of some clothes and shoes though, I have way too many.
I got up and exercised this morning, it was good, I did 15 min, but my Fitbit only calculated 10
I think I will do some yoga this evening, maybe some strength training.
Have a great day !2 -
Hi WaistAways! I had a fun weekend. That means I overdid it, but for good reasons? My hubby's birthday was Saturday, so I had a fun, relaxing day scheduled for us. We went to the hot springs, followed by a couple's massage, and lunch at a new to us sushi place. All-in-all, it was a nice relaxing day. Yesterday I went snow shoeing with some spin class friends. It was a lot of fun and good exercise. Now we're planning river days and other outdoor adventures.
@micki48 - I am so sorry to hear about your job! I am glad to hear that you have some time before all of those changes take place, but it is still a rough spot to be in. I am sending good thoughts your way for the lead teacher role.
@strong_fit_ells - I cannot wait to see more pictures of your puppy!2 -
@ashleycarole86 - Thursday, February 15th - 6,883 steps - 1 hour of CrossFit
Friday, February 16th - 11,814 steps - 1 hour of spin, 1 hour of CrossFit
Saturday, February 17th - 2,599 steps (it's more than this since we walked around the hot springs quite a bit in the two hours we were there, but I was not going to wear my watch near that water!)
Sunday, February 18th - 7,178 steps - 1.5 hours of snow shoeing1 -

@micki48
ACK all around. What a gut punch. I'm sorry for the reductions in hours and the hit to your pocketbook, and for the fact there is no recognition for your years of service.
@Kali225
My structure on the weekend is an area I'd like to work on too.
@MaddawgMadsen
Sounds like your hubby was spoiled.. a nice set of activities to celebrate his special day.
We are enjoying a productive Family Day here, getting lots of chores done. The temperatures are nice so we got our dog out for a nice walk (and steps for us). After the go go go from the last few days it feels good to end on a productive note. We leave for a week to Jamaica in a week and we are going non-stop until then!4 -
I've got the cleaning bug too! I f i n a l l y cut my rug pad down to the size I actually need (I only bought it 10 months ago and have been staring at a swath of gray fuzz sticking out the side of my rug that entire time...), I took a walk to the hardware store to buy some carpet tape and got the whole thing stuck down to my floor which is a HUGE relief. Every time I walked across it, it moved around and caused bunching. Vacuumed, dusted, cleaned my bathroom, even got a little more decor up and around the apartment. And I put on a newer pair of work shoes while I cleaned so I can get them broken in.
Still a few more things to do today, including helping a friend with his resume. This week for dinner, I made pork cutlets, roasted potatoes, and mushrooms - topped with chives and lemon juice. I love chives so much. Gonna get tonight's portion going now. Cleaning is good exercise! But I also want to try to get a lower body dumbbell workout in before the day is done.3 -
Sounds like a good Monday! It is not Family Day here as it is in many other parts of Canada, but it was a good one here on the side of the hill. I got some practicing done, some Pilates, plenty of strength and cardio with Jasper - whew we worked today! It is fun having a young and strong exercise partner when you're 70
I can't say I was as amazing as you, though @kali225 - what a whirlwind! I'm seriously impressed. And lower body dumbbells to come - you have inspired me not to skip my miles on the exercise bike tonight.
I have to go to Montreal tomorrow - last gasp of the investigation process is to meet with the Dean who received my report and talk about the things I could not put in the report This will be an opportunity to grab ill-advised foods. I'll do my best to plan ahead and avoid them! 3 hours bus round trip will be at least partly balanced by walking. I always walk a lot when I'm in the city.
I'll be back later with the nightly nag

Well, well! It’s been quite a month of two steps forward & 1 or 2 back in a less-than-coordinated waltz for me. I’m finally getting back to a regular exercise routine and noticing improvements; I can do more knee pushups than when I started and certain resistance training is fun. I know. I rarely put those two words together “fun” and “exercise”. Maybe my mood is improving because I decided to reclaim my daughter’s room as my massage and meditation space. It’s been almost a year since she moved to Hanover, NH for work. She has a very small apartment which just means many of her belongings still live in that room. It’s time!
My food choices have been pretty good although I need to drink more water and get better sleep. My weight fluctuates more when those are in better balance.
Have a good evening, everyone. My plan this week is to do 4 days of strength training and see how that feels.

Busy painting and remodeling. No change in weight

Good day, everyone. Have a Happy Tuesday.
Question: What is one thing you can get excited about today?
I'm excited about the possibility of my kids spending a night over their grandmothers and/or watching a movie as a family (maybe Aquaman at the theater or Airbender at home) any of these things will be a win at the end of the end of the day.3 -
Morning. Back to work today. I work four days, have the weekend, and then we head to Jamaica for a week. I have two meals out today, a Scotties live curling draw in person tomorrow that includes a meal, and then Thursday and Friday are activities for me (soccer and curling). I need to make good choices as I felt I didn't in any way this last weekend.4
