@Katmary71 Okay, so I record next Thursday then, right?
Sorry, I just reread your post, of course that's what I do. >< Sorry about that. Reading the forum right after I get up is a losing proposition!3 -
@trooworld yes I’m a sweet person. lol. Chocolate, ice cream, cake etc. I have been reading about higher protein intake and diets to just educate myself a bit more. It seems like in moderation it is a good thing for someone’s muscles and overall health. Currently I eat all foods but in much smaller portions as I had read that denying yourself of something in particular can lead to impossible cravings then a binge on that food. Eg say carbs. I have increased my veg and fruit consumption and actually decreased my meat intake but I have been looking at the high protein 28 day thing here on mfp and might give it a go. That may kick my metabolism in the butt and help to lose the last 20 lbs I want to do before quitting smoking. The shakes I think may help with the sweet tooth and help the protein intake too.3

Well I am tracking ½ the time now which is a big improvement:). I think if it works I will come off the cheerleading squad and try hopping back in. I have put an alarm in my calendar so I will remember to weigh in tomorrow morning.
I decided I am do bored with my own food it is a real problem and I don't feel like I have the energy or focus to make up a meal plan. I remembered that there used to be a place here in town that would put meals together for you and you pop them in the freezer. They include everything including exact measurements of spices etc. The difference between this place and something like chefs plate is that they don't include fresh vegetables. They are about ½ the price😀. I ordered 9 meals and they serve 3 so I figure that will be 27 meals for the month. Hopefully that will get me kickstarted😊.
My sweet grandpuppy passed away on Monday. She has been struggling with different aging issues over the last year. My son and daughter-in-law were finding their house very quiet so Vannie went to stay with them for a couple of days. I have been enjoying this one on one time with Ty (Time). E went shopping this morning, she does love everyone that's for sure!

Hey guys, hope everyone doing great. So far doing okay myself. Dealing with expected bloating and weight gain from period. Feeling better from flu and kids too. Sorry I havent been too active here on the forum with so many things going on. Will make a better effort.
Questions:
For the zombie apocalypse, I would want my husband, mom and kids with me cause I wouldnt want them to be separated. Together is always better. Hehe But I dont wish that to ever happen in real life lol 😂
For the stress question, I prioritized my mental health by withdrawing from whatever is causing the mental distress and taking a break, to pray, meditate and relax with hobbies and good music. I am learning to do more of this instead of binging on comfort foods.
~ I have a friend who wants to join the group and is having trouble finding it so I will tag her here. Hey @AyaTheTyga here it is! 🌸4 -
@morenin LOL I read your weigh in before coffee kicked in so you know my confusion! Yep weigh in on Thursday, that's perfect! That was such a big drop I can't wait to see what it is Thursday! High 5!
@tammymccrady6278 On the protein drink, it’s not a bad idea, what I’d consider is if your calories are low then you don’t have a ton of room for protein and maybe it would be better to chew vs drink it. Would this be in addition to your daily protein? I DO feel more satiated when I eat more protein and less carbs/sugar and have more energy for workouts. For me it’s more NOT thinking about food constantly if that makes sense. If I had chips vs a protein drink I’d be hungry earlier, since being diagnosed with diabetes and eating better I usually do a protein with moderate or less sugary fruit and veggies like yogurt with an apple or hummus and veggies. A friend on my feed here said she had casein protein drinks to sleep better so I bought it and felt no difference (random tidbit).
@txcritter69 Did you plant your herbs from seed or starts? Our farmer’s market already has tomato vendors, I was shocked to see it today but heard a tomato lecture at a local garden center about how we can get away with a few cherry and early tomatoes in containers just cover if it goes under 40 and save most for later. LOL it was all fun and games with the pigs and goats peeking in the door until that one ran down an aisle and stopped in front of the lettuce! Thank you for the recipe!
@trooworld Thanks! Are the dishcloths the new ones at Trader Joe’s? I think they may have them I’ll look into it. I was rubbernecking going by all the kitchen towels at Costco looking for them thinking of you and Teresa yesterday! Have fun at the musical! Love the Hoka color, you definitely have a wide toe box! I know with foot pain we can get pretty desperate so no teasing from me. I bet my bunion would never hurt in those. My SIL just got Hokas and was saying how great they are too.
@laurelfit57 Are you thinking of going back tomorrow or waiting to see? You’re doing great congrats on tracking more, the reminder is a great idea. Oh fun I hope the meals are just what you need, they would be nice to have on hand! Aw I’m sorry to hear about your grandpuppy. That was nice of you to lend them Vannie, that emptiness right after losing a beloved pet is awful. What an adorable photo!
@littlebabekitty Hi there! I’m glad you’re feeling better, sorry about the bloating. Love your answers! Is your friend a member of Fat2Fit? If not closer to March there will be a folder on the top of the forum for new members to check in to be added to teams. Just have her request Mission Slimpossibles if she wants to be in this group.
Hi team! I wore myself out today, started with a workout then my neighbor and I went to a camellia festival followed by the farmer’s market which was huge today. She took back some of her camellias as there was a contest and she got third place, she was so thrilled and had been a bit down so it was extra good timing. I’m trying to “landscape” the side of my driveway and worked on that and cutting back herbs while chatting with a friend. I just got out of the tub and am falling asleep so I’m doing the weigh in info and off to bed.

@txcritter69 Those are good herbs to plant. I will probably plant basil as I use so much of it. I'm glad you are having good weather, we are, too.
@Cornanda @morenin @865jessica Congrats on the losses!
@19shmoo69 LOL!
@Katmary71 Thanks! Oh you will love the Swedish dishcloths. You do need to have a scrubby thing (I get those blue ones) because there is no "grit" on the dishcloths but in general, they work on most stuff. I did find great shoes, more on that later! That Little Italy day was totally worth it! I'm glad your feet are better. Keep doing those treatments!
@tammymccrady6278 Congrats on the loss! I think it wouldn't hurt to try the protein shakes. Are you a sweets person? If you are a salty person, that might not work.
Hi all. Yesterday was a beautiful day, mid-70s. It is supposed to get up to 79F here on Sunday! I didn't get to enjoy the weather yesterday but I sure will today and tomorrow. The only commitments I have are a Spanish lesson this morning and then I am going to a musical with some coworkers at 2 pm. Tomorrow, absolutely nothing! Maybe I'll see if my husband wants to go to the zoo tomorrow. I got the new pair of shoes. They look like pancake flippers (see photos) but they are so comfortable. They are Hoka Bondi 8s. I got custom insoles to go with them, those cost a lot, too. But they made such a difference. They don't take the plantar fasciitis away but it helps.

Naw, it's already skyrocketed back up 5 pounds! Every single time I go off the diet for a day (or two in this case), water piles back on. It'll take until this coming Thursday to beat it back down!4 -

I blink and the week is gone. I have to admit this week I decided to do a little me time. I started reading again. I was on the selection committee for a national book award for 3 years prior to Covid then when we were locked down we were in the midst of reading for the selection so I found it an incredibly difficult task to focus on reading my 140+ books while navigating the fear and uncertainty. I haven’t picked up a book for pleasure in a couple years as I just lost the focus.
But over the holidays I picked up a young adult series I have always loved (the giver) and zipped through it. So I decided to the-read the hunger games and I have been reminded of how comforting it is to become so engrossed in a story I can’t put it down.
I’m not ready for adult books lol but I am feeling a lot of peace as I take time to do something I enjoy.
Here’s to a good week ahead!4 -
@tammymccrady6278 Ah that's good you are reading up on it. I've heard that too, about denial. Sounds like the shakes might be a nice idea!
@laurelfit57 Great job with beginning to track again! Oh neat idea about the place that makes meals. Oh, I'm so sorry about your grandpuppy. I hope Vannie can do a little heart-healing. Aww, those are cute pictures!
@littlebabekitty I'm glad you are feeling better. Together is indeed better! LOL Your friend can go to this page and keep an eye out for the "Registration for NEW members - MARCH 2024" thread and post in there asking to be put on the Slimpossibles team: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/114605-fat-2-fit-weight-loss-challenge-and-support-group I'm glad she wants to join us!!!!
@Katmary71 I didn't know Trader Joe's has them. The ones I got are from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00275BB6S/ LOL yeah I do love kitchen stuff! I had a good time at the musical, it was based on a graphic novel I read. Yes, I need that wide-toe box for that stupid bunion I have lol. Your bunion wouldn't hurt! Yeah, Hokas are good but so expensive. But worth it! Sounds like you had a busy day!
@19shmoo69 Great job, Darren!
@gemwolf110 I like them so far!
@megnolia82 Congrats on the loss! How cool to be on the selection committee! I'm glad you picked up reading again.
Hi all. My Spanish lesson got canceled due to technical difficulties so we decided to go to the zoo. It was fun but my foot was killing me and I was in agony the rest of the day. I went to the musical and really enjoyed it. Came home and made dinner and finished a movie we had started. Today I am going to try to relax. I am going to do some cooking and I just remembered I have to fold my clothes ugh. I guess I won't relax!

Good morning! There is no time for personals as we are about to leave for church. I need church today because I am not in a good headspace. With Joe constantly needing me and my stupid wrist not healing, I’m frustrated and cranky! I’m having a big pity party and need to get over myself. Have a good day, and I will talk to ya’ll tomorrow.

@katmary71 yes I would like to start up today if that works. If it works better that I officially jump back in the beginning of March that is fine as well, whatever works is good for me.

Went to IHOP for breakfast with Rich this morning. Had the 2×2×2 eggs, bacon, pancakes, and a side of fruit 😋 Probably half my calories for the day. The rest of today's calories should probably be devoted to vegetables and fruits.

I'm feeling better. It must have been my allergies from spending the day outside. It was a little windy, blowing those ragweed and pollen around. I didn't realize it because my allergies haven't bothered me in a while.💪 Mission Slimpossible Strong! 💪5 -

Not too worried about this. I’ve been strength training and eating more calories, so I’m not really expecting the scale to drop significantly. Just don’t want to see a big jump up.
@trooworld We got Hokas for my son after a recommendation from his podiatrist. He refuses to wear the inserts, and still complains of aches and pain after he works on his feet for hours (he has super high arches). But the Hokas have helped significantly. The inserts would help more, but you can only do so much with a hard headed teenager 🙄
My goal today is to cook the chicken breasts from Costco that are in my fridge in the air fryer. I need to prep them for lunches this week and then freeze the rest. Pre-prepped lunches and dinners make the week so much easier.

Percentage of Members in the Green!
This will now start being reported on a weekly basis in addition to a monthly basis.
As a reminder, being "in the green" indicates a loss of any size from one week to the next; the percentage is how much of the team saw a loss in any given week.
In Week Three, it looks like the Downsizers really dug in and went for it! Also a huge congrats to the Mission Slimpossibles and Waistaways for jumping up over 10% from week two to week three!

Good afternoon!
Yesterday I was running around and camping, so I did not post a plan. I did have a good day as regards food and steps, so happy about that! The pictures that @trooworld posted reminded me to say that I saw some camels on Saturday. I was driving past a ranch in central Texas, and there they were, about 20 yards from the road. They were huge!
Sunday plan
🟢 Social/mental health: Hang out with a couple of girlfriends
🟢 Food on plan: vegetables & fruits, G-BOMBS
🟢 GtG Pushups: Goal for today is 3 sets (12+)
⚪ Movement: 45 min not done yet!
⚪ Steps: 5,000 not done yet!
⚪ Floors: 5 - 3 so far!
@KatMary - Yes, the ginger lemonade is indeed very tasty! https://tajabeverages.com/product/taja-coconut-water-cold-pressed-natural-lemonade-with-ginger/
The Middle Eastern bakery sounds dangerous and wonderful!
@morenin - I hope your cranky joints are improving!
@TeresaW2024 - Swedish dishcloths sound fun! I have been off to google that to see what they might be like, and am seeing pretty and useful-looking things!
@txcritter69 - None of my pets would be useful in the zombie apocalypse. The cats would panic and the chickens would have a lot to say. *sigh*
@laurelfit57 - I am so sorry about your grandpuppy. The pictures were adorable!
@megnolia82 - You were on a book selection committee? Wow! It's nice that you are enjoying reading
again. I love rereading YA favorites as comfort reading when I need a break!💪 Mission Slimpossible Strong! 💪3 -

@laurelfit57 I think being moved now would work as it's the start of the week, I'll go request it now.0 -
@morenin That's so frustrating I'm sorry about the increase!
@megnolia82 I'm so glad you've been able to do some reading again, that's great! It's the best to escape into another world for awhile, that's what I love so much about books. I'm reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series right now.
@trooworld Thanks for the link I added them to my wishlist to check out after this. I love kitchen stuff too! I did both on my last Costco trip, they had pretty bowls 10 for $10 on clearance which is cheaper than my cat bowls so I figured I could share them with the boys then got new hose nozzles and new trimmers for the yard. LOL I had a big bunion too, wow maybe I need to start saving for Hokas after I get the garden in! Great zoo photos!
@TeresaW2024 Hugs Teresa, praying church is exactly what you need right now. If you lived here I'd be over there with my micro current machine experimenting on you!
@micaroo4 Yum breakfast sounds really good!
@Veta2018 I'm glad you're feeling better, that makes sense the wind is great at getting allergies going. I was supposed to pick up allergy medication at the pharmacy from the beginning on the month and am not happy it hasn't been filled yet!
@DebJB30 It's common for weight to go up when strength training, that isn't a bad gain. I'm glad the Hokas help your son, another great review! My SIL and nephew who's in long distance track both have them and love them. I have my nerve issues then have a bunion and hammer toes so maybe I should stop buying shoes from Costco. Enjoy those chicken breasts, they're a great one to prep with.
WOOT WOOT GO MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES IN 2ND PLACE! @AustinRuadhain @Cornanda @askewcr you all did incredible leading the pack!
@littlebabekitty You got this, I'll send some extra encouraging messages to you this week!
@AustinRuadhain Wow how cool to see camels I bet it was a surprise to see them when you drove by. How was the camping trip? Nice the drink is at Sprouts which isn't too far from here.
Hi team! Frustrated with some charity stuff again, I've been going out of my way to be friendly and supportive with our new vice president and she showed interest in the program I'm working on for our town's Big Day of Service and offered to send a letter or make a call so thinking she really wanted to be a part of it I let her and she started emailing our president with all the updates and leaving me out of it when I've attended all the meetings. Now I look incompetent with the organization we're working with because she threw extra information in the letter that was incorrect and the charity looks like we don't communicate when we talked on the phone for an hour. The president is having health issues so I don't want to stress her out too much but did let her know what went on and told her what I'm planning to do to resolve it that won't include the vice president unless it's stealing my football back and shoving her in mud haha. I'm fine with her making a few missteps but she's left people out a few times and is reminding me of the jerk at work who takes your job by being a snake and being underhanded. It fueled a great angry music workout followed by garden chores and cleaning the house I'm exhausted! I'm running out of time to get going on my homework, tomorrow's PT, my first allergy shots, and talking to the librarian about washing books and/or a book drive for the town's Big Day of Service for the charity to do. I DID get a salmon filet a little over 1lb and had it and asparagus for dinner, those will be great leftovers for a couple days. Go be awesome this week!

Yay for the whole team for achieving 2nd place! A special shout-out goes to @AustinRuadhain @Cornanda and @askewcr for leading the way!
@TeresaW2024 Sorry about your headspace. Hugs.
@laurelfit57 @txcritter69 Congrats on the losses!
@Veta2018 Congrats on the loss, I'm glad you are feeling better!
@DebJB30 That's good the Hokas have helped him. I think the inserts are helping but only so much. I really need to just stay off my feet as much as possible and do some stretching.
@AustinRuadhain How cool!
@Katmary71 Sure! Ugh, I hate my bunion. I'll probably need surgery soon as it is pushing my big toe into the toe next to it which is pushing that one up. Yeah the Hokas, I recommend! Thank you! Sorry about your charity frustration. Your dinner sounds yummy.
Hi all. I ended up having a big to-do list yesterday and was totally overwhelmed by it so I only got about 30% of it done. I didn't fold my clean clothes so I don't know what I'm going to wear this week. I did order a night splint for my plantar fasciitis. I don't know if it will help, but it's worth trying. I'm not feeling well this morning, tummy troubles and chills. But I took some medication so hopefully that will help and I'll be on my way to work.
