Soooo.....just out of curiosity, has everyone seen where we are losing the newsfeed to our pages? If not, we are. I for one am not happy about it and I know of a lot of others who aren't happy about this change either. Fir some of us, it's the interaction with others who have similar interests and are fiends with them. It's a common bond now.2

Hello Shape Shifters. I had a nice and quiet day yesterday. It wasn't very good out, very grey and wet so I decided to skip my walk. Instead I played video games, did a lot of laundry and my gym rings workout. Happy Sunday everyone3

Hello everyone, I've been gone for two weeks to Okinawa Japan. I took a few photos and put them in an album. Vacation photos on Imgur It was the first time I have been outside the country and my very first real vacation (I'm almost 50, lol). I lost ten pounds in Asia and my husband lost eight. I found out that Naha is a real party town but I don't drink or party, so mostly I watched for fruit bats and they were amazing!! I could watch them in the evening from my hotel balcony. They had tons of big bright amazing butterflies. Lots of species of orchids. Near the hotel was a five story bookstore and the non-fiction section was beside the coffee cafe, so naturally that's where I was almost daily, lol. I brought back a lot of books, I can 'read' some hiragana / katakana and about 25 kanji, but that's not enough to be literate so I used a translation app and sticky notes to read the books. I'm a non-fiction junkie and bought books covering nutrition and wild critters of the Island.
Okinawa is a blue zone and I was really interested in finding out about it as it's the topic of so many documentaries. The fresh pineapple was the most amazing and locally grown and I ate that everyday. Glad to be home with my cats now . I am definitely going to work harder at losing weight. Nothing like seeing everyone around you with single-digit body fat to convince a person that maybe being 50% fat is way too much.
Cheers!

@Itadakimasu7 Thanks for sharing the pictures and I am glad you made it home safe! That sounds like an awesome place for the hotel. I love books and would probably have bought too many as well. Did you get to use the bit of Japanese you learned? Despite the problems you had, I hope you still enjoyed your first holiday.3

Good morning Shape Shifters. I had a nice walk with my camera yesterday. Though it was mostly lots to hear, little to see again. While trying (and failing) to photograph a robin, a pretty roebuck starting hopping through the woods next to me. I had no idea he was there, so that was fun. Besides that just a lot of songthrushes and I got a far away picture of a chiffchaff. I got some groceries when the store opened later and had the weekly phonecall with my mom. While talking to her, I walked to the window and saw I had a little squirrel in the garden. It was munching on sunflower seeds and it also got a drink of water. It was super adorable. The rest of the day I mostly gamed. Happy Monday everyone4

The daily card:The key to making mindfulness a part of our everyday lives is realizing that wherever we are has the potential to be a meditation space- a desk at work, a crowded bus, an airplane seat, or beneath a beautiful tree. Whether it's using the physical experience of traveling to help grow body awareness, or the people around us as a cue to practice kindness, every situation and environment can be used in support of cultivating mindfulness in daily life. Try selecting a favorite card from the deck and see how you can practice the exercise in a range of different places and situations.3

@Itadakimasu7 glad you had a good time and made it home safe. I've never met anyone who lost weight on vacation before, especially with coffee cake! π Sounds like a wonderful store, I'd go just for that and the butterflies. π¦3

@Pupowl -- most of my Japanese went out of my brain as soon as they started talking to me. I mostly bowed and apologized ;-P I was glad I could read simple things and that I had studied the culture.
In the park I found people caring for the local cat population. Cared for colonies were a sure bet in and around shrines. I am guessing with compact living areas and long work hours that maybe some of the outdoor 'free range' kitties became pets of the local population. I had people add me as a friend on Pokemon Go, and sometimes I caught someone's eye, especially an older person and I thought -- we could have a conversation if it wasn't for the language barrier. Baseball is really popular in Japan and I enjoyed going to the park to watch the kids practice.

Good morning Shape Shifters. Not much going on yesterday. I went for a walk without my camera in the morning. Didn't see a lot, though I did find a woodpecker nest in a tree, so I might go back to check that out with my camera soon. I got my gym rings done early in the day which I was glad about. I had to take Tinus to the vet again for his painkiller injection and after that I was really tired. I mostly gamed the rest of the day which was nice. I kept forgetting to post my rainbow tracker so here it is. Happy Tuesday everyone5
