    Weigh-in Day: Friday (June 28, 2024)
    PW: 244.2
    CW: 243.8

My new Fitbit (Sense 2) arrived. It's been about half a year since my old Charge 5 died and I've been debating between Apple Watch and another Fitbit. It seems pretty clear that Apple watches are probably more durable and have more features but at the end of the day, the Fitbit battery will last much longer and if I had to charge my watch every day and a half, I probably wouldn't wear it so it was an easy decision for me as I don't need all the extra bells and whistles. Plus I didn't have to pay anything for it as we have a health program through work in which we can earn points and turn them in for items like this. Anyway, I'm in the process of synching and updating the software and as soon as that's done, I'm going for my morning walk and "get my steps on"!

Happy to be maintaining while I'm away from the rv !

Nice loss! You can’t leave. You are one of the people who I consider an inspiration in my weight loss story. I am going to be honest with you. Taking the break in May really sent me down a rabbit hole. I got in my head and bad habits slowly crept in. I am still up 5 pounds from the lowest weight. I was maintaining until I wasn’t. I am not saying this will happen to you. Lots of people maintain successfully. Anyway, I will miss you if you leave. You are the person who helped me join the slimmer 60’s club. Good luck with your journey. When are you heading out on your trip to the US?

Hi Linda, thanks for your reply. I appreciate your comments. I'll be honest with you, whilst i know things have to change the group isn't the same without you as captain! You were a huge motivation to me as we both passed by the 200lb mark and reached our low weights! I've started feeling its a chore to come to the page .... rather than i could nt wait to be here every morning to see how folks were doing! I also have some huge personal issues going on and just feel nows the time to go. Who knows i might be back after my trip to the usa in September! Good luck with the rest of your journey xx

You can message me anytime. Have a wonderful trip. I hope things settle down. Stress is tough on our eating.

Good morning! It’s a rainy day today. We are leaving shorty for our overnight trip. I hope the rain stops so we can walk along the riverfront. I went for a walk yesterday but I couldn’t get my watch to start. I am having trouble with the screen. I will make a trip to the Apple Store next week.

@scandiao awesome for joining the step challenge in July! How many steps would you like to aim for each day (or week)?

And I will also share that my lucky number is 7 as well 😊

Good Morning Lauren! :) Very cool you like 7 B) there is just something about that number. lol!

Now for the steps. Well, for starters, I will do 3,500 steps a day. I know it's not much. But I haven't been walking much and my usual steps are around 2500 to 2700. I work from home, and do not motivate myself to start walking. 😟 But, after talking to a customer yesterday, she shared with me that she lost her only daughter due to obesity (she told me her daughters weight and it is what I am right now :( ) It made me really think about how important it is to get started. I don't want to leave my parents, husband or daughter to live their lives without me. :'(

    Have an amazing weekend!! <3

Would your rather read a book or watch a movie?

I am following with @Megan_smartiepants1970 idea while she is recovering and posing a question. I love reading! Getting comfortable on the couch with a blanket and good book is my idea of relaxing!

Movies, but, If im in a area with no access to technology then reading is fun too.

    😎🌻 Happy June 🌻😎

I can't believe that it is the end of the month. June really flew! Each month write a reflection on how the month went - Here is mine for June.

    June Reflection

June was a great month for weight loss, a slowdown in exercise!

I lost 4.6 pounds this month – even beat my stretch goal! Down 83 pounds from the start of my journey. Even with a trip to Hawaii during the month. I have five pounds to go to get my BMI to the ideal range, and 10 pounds to go to my goal. When I get there, we shall see what I do – I might just go a tiny bit further to say that I hit the 100-pound mark. That would be another 17 pounds from today.

I reached the 1,350-mile marker on my quest to walk 2,024 miles in 2024, logging 135 miles in June – my least number of miles since I started this journey in January 2023. My injury last month turned out to be a meniscus tear and have had to slow down. I got a cortisone shot and feel a little better – but decreased my step goal from 17,000 steps a day to 8,000. I’m thinking I can move up to 10,000 in July. Although I have slowed down, I am still in the purple (that means I will make it) range. So far have averaged 7.45 miles per day. This tracker is all miles walked – not just intentional. I am also tracking my intentional miles, just to see how I do. To date I have tracked 982.05 intentional miles. This puts me at 48% complete – just below the 50% mark.

I did an experiment with Nutrisystem food in June. I ordered two weeks of food. Here’s what I found out:

    1. It works - I got over my plateau and continued to lose - lost almost 5 pounds in two weeks. 😁
    2. It was super easy to follow 😁 but, had we had to cook two meals daily - one for me, one for Greg. ☹️
    3. The food was edible - not fantastic, not gross 😐
    4. I did not meet my protein goal most days ☹️, but met carb, fat, sodium and fiber goals almost every day 😁.
    5. Most days the calories were about 1,350 - ranging from a little under 1,200 to 1,600. I wasn't hungry. 😁
    6. I usually eat 5 fruits/veggies a day - but switched to 4 veggies one fruit on Nutrisystem. 😐
    7. It's doable as a quick fix, I couldn't do it long term. 😐
    8. Overall - I am extremely happy with the weight loss. So overall score! 😁
    9. 👩‍🍳 I like to cook!

We took a trip to Hawaii midway through the month. Overall, I am very happy with my dedication on the trip. We did not have access to the fitness center – so my exercise consisted of swimming and walking. I logged everything I ate and drank to the best of my ability. I was over my calorie goal and more importantly my sodium goal every day, but not by huge numbers. I ate breakfast every day, and many lunches as well. I limited my alcohol. Only one day of two drinks, and many with none. I ate only half of my dinner entre – boxing up the rest for breakfast or Greg’s snacks for the future. I gained weight, but within the week home lost it all.

Looking at my June goals, I did well – except never finished The Burning Page. I just couldn’t through it. Will try to find something fun to read for July!

    My July Goals

    • Lose 4 pounds (always my goal), but be happy with a 2% loss for the month
    • Alternate days of Cardio and Strength Training
    • Follow Doctor’s orders – go to Physical Therapy
    • Average 10K Steps per day

By Before and After for June
