    Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Been traveling for the usual doctor appts for and now planning Thanksgiving! It’s been a full stressful few weeks which is why I’ve been awol.

Good reports from mom’s cardiologist annd nephrologist and dad’s urologist. Where! Thank you Lord.

@SherryRueter - you know you have someone here who understands the stress of caregiving! It’s soooo hard and it some times scares me that I can feel my chest tighten and breath hasten with all the day to
day, minute to minute duties - not even counting how you have play psychologist to all the other family members who have trouble dealing.

I did lose 8 pounds over the last 6 weeks! Finished CG iron series but combined it with the 10k steps daily and still did not have one cookie, chop, taste of ice cream - nothing. I was to continue to Thanksgiving but I don’t even crave my weakness - sweet potato pie. Yay!

Sherry - if you have any health questions you can always bounce them off me. Our mom’s health situations are different but may have some similarities.

    Enjoy the holiday weekend!! 💕

Great loss and self control around the toxic sugar CeeBee! I also praise Lord Jesus for the good reports from doctors for your parents.

@justgirl81 Thank you! Isn’t it such a great feeling when the doctor is saying “this is such great news I’m not sure what to attribute it to” - BUT WE DO!!!!!!?! 🙏🙏🙏

Had my first sweets yesterday - sweet potato pie and egg nog. Just held my breath while I stepped on the scale - and a half-pound weight LOSS! 👏👏

It was nice to have but unlike other times, I’ve had enough for the holiday. No need to have again. Yay!!

Im in Cold and snowy NW Iowa. Logged in Right now to finish MOnth end processing for work.
I hope this finds you doing good and meeting your goals. I'm back in the office Dec 4th.

Mom is doing well. She switched to jardiance and so far that seems to be working for her fluid Edema/retention.
    Got to go.

I'm sorry that its just been you @justgirl81 I just got back to work today. I use this thread and a few others to help keep me entertained while here. I have a "help desk" job and the queue is sometimes really slow. ANYWAY. I'll be popping in now and getting my updates.

Okay - I did cardio this morning. My stomach has been aching for 3 days. I'm not sure if it was the change in foods (likely) or something else. I refuse to weigh myself right now. But I am tracking for December 1-24 and going to work on it being a calorie deficit.
Yesterday was SUCCESSFUL ... calorie deficit Nailed. FELT SO GOOD.

Food I enjoyed the most yesterday - 6 naked chicken wings. That was supper. It was delish. Who says you need a ton of other sides with your meal?!?!?

Balmy 32 degrees here - I'll take it.

Mom is okay, stable. I don't know... Its so hard to trust in Gods plan - that's not the right words... to Be still. I just want her to be back where she was a year ago, and not where she is health wise right now. But that isn't what Gods plan is. I know this is the last chapter of her story.... I'm so thankful God gave me all of the chapters He did, however this last chapter sucks. I have several online / texting friends that I lean on - as I don't have any girl friends ... well my daughter is for sure but - you know - girl friends that hang and all. and we have our church and bible study group.

Okay - I do have work I need to be doing. I hope this finds you doing well.
Have you decorated yet? I should have time on Saturday.

I almost missed your post. I"m just back from the trip. SO nice to be in my own bed. I'm so sore from the matress at mom in laws. AND not having my foam roller and all.
It is SOO Stressful. OMG. Yes, the daily and minute by min. duties. I can only imagine if I was the primary person in the household. GIIIIRL you are a saint.

NOTHINg?!?! 8# WOO HOO!!!! thats the way to do it! YAY! I hope you continue that lifestyle. A taste on the lips is all it takes to make it go to the HIPs.

I sure will @CeeBeeSlim Mom today has shingles. I'm hopeful that this is not a life threatening event. I wish I knew how to solve her edema .... but I guess even the best of heart doctors are still working on that one. They have her on Jardiance now. Seems hopeful, worth hoping for.

How did you lose 8# ? Did you track also? Pretty sure I'm up 5# but I'm not stepping on a scale.

How heart warming! I'm so glad to hear this! Praise God.

Did I ever share the "wait for your 41?" or is it "My 41 is coming."?

Mom update: Mom is getting an Iron infusion series to help raise her blood work. She is getting a shingles shot. I'm not sure if she should or shouldn't get a flu shot. OH and they cleared her to walk in her room without skilled nursing care.
