    Hi @SunnyDays930,

Day 8 - that's GREAT!🌹 think you're right. You and I sorry to be the only remaining dinner challenge members active on this board. That's okay with me. I'm just going to stay with it and I promise to respond every time you post and to post something every day to keep the board active.

    Have a great day.

Good morning, @SunnyDays930 and anyone else checking out this board.
    ~Still AF as of 2/07/25.~
z1ai7ui1vvvq.jpg the scale is going down too! I won't post my weight until my official weigh-in day (Wednesday). I'm in a weight loss challenge on two other boards one ending 3/19/25 and the other ending 4/30/25.

My starting weight was 153 lbs. on January 1st, but I've had A LOT of ups and downs since then. My goals are to get down to the 140's by Spring and to get my BMI below 25 by Summer. I know that if I avoid alcohol 100% that I can and will DO this!

The most important thing in life is to stop saying 'I wish' and start saying 'I will'. - Sober Time's message for February 17, 2025.

    Hi everyone,

I renamed our challenge "SOBER (AF) CHALLENGE (Ongoing)", but left this thread as is so hopefully you have it bookmarked so you can come back to it easily.

    Hello everyone,
I have been stop/starting over the past couple of weeks but am recommitting to a sober streak from today. Same goes for weight watching too but that’s for another board discussion. Was feeling sorry for myself after rolling my ankle while out for a run but am on the mend now.
    Best wishes.

    Hi, @LowTechForever,

I'm so glad you're back and wish you 100% recovery - all around! I quit alcohol again as of February 7th, and though I slipped up on February 11th into the morning of the 12th, I decided not to count it because I want to keep my Soberversary date of February 7th ("Hug an Addict or Alcoholic Day!") and also because my Sober Time app doesn't count until the next day anyway. That was the only, minor lapse I experienced and I will make my very best effort NOT to repeat it!

It's a lot harder to stick to abstinence and/or weight loss efforts when one is injured and in pain. That's completely understandable. What's important is that you're healing, you're still here and you have NOT given up! We can DO this!

Enjoy your day and best wishes for your fresh 🌟*RESET*!🌟

Thank you for your kind words Carole. I agree that it is hard to focus on anything when physical pain is involved but I’m feeling much better and am finishing up my AF evening. I must confess that I’ve never heard of “Hug an Addict or Alcoholic Day”. I will check if it’s a thing in the UK or occurs on a different date. Hugs are always good!

Hi @LowTechForever, I googled it and it looks like it's just a national holiday in the US right now, https://nationaltoday.com/hug-an-addict-or-alcoholic-day/, but no one says someone outside the US can't adopt it if they want, or why not pick your own, special day? A friend of mine and her husband had their 30th anniversary this Valentine's Day and decided together to make it their shared "Soberversary Day" as well.

I am 10 days AF today. Now it is time to tackle the sugar. Yesterday I had various amounts of: Cookies, chocolate cake, gingerbread, peanut butter M&M's, a mini cinnamon roll.....I may be forgetting something. Anyway I do not want to develop diabetes as well as gain weight so today I will try not to consume any sweets.

Hi everyone, Hope your day is going well!

Congratulations on your 10 days AF @sunnydays930!🏆 Wow, that's a LOT of sweets in one day! Fortunately, I don't really crave sweets at all (though I really like dark chocolate), but what gets me in trouble are crunchy, spicy, savory and CHEESE! I also love bread and pasta but I have found reasonable facsimiles that can keep my high carb processed food cravings in check. I have a friend who lives on sweets almost exclusively, and she's 90 years old. She's my height (5'3") and always weighs between 170 and 180 lbs. Have you tried some of the protein meal replacement bars? They can satisfy your sweet tooth and help you feel full, plus many contain lots of protein, fiber and nutrients. This morning I had a "Pure Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter" bar: 200 calories, 20g protein, 7g fat, 17 carbs, 1g fiber, 2g sugar. It does have sucralose though; so if you're avoiding artificial sweeteners, you might not want that. I usually get the "Quest" bars (SO many flavors), because they usually have a lot of fiber so they're more satisfying.

    Have a great day!
