@Dianedoessmiles1 - LOL - saw the city trucks dropping gravel & de-icer getting ready for a big snow dump while on our walk. Only got a dusting...Next chance Friday. Love to see the fresh new fallen snow. Not happening here yet.

    Good Morning VIP friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. I want to apologize for my absences lately. I am not usually out this much. I have been in the past a very dedicated person to this group. Unfortunately moving has been an adventure and we are still finishing things up. I promise now that moving day is here I will be more attentive and able to respond to everyone like I normally do.

@Dianedoessmiles1 - Our dog is definitely noticing and she is panicking a bit. Panting a lot. Our cats are extra clingy so I assume they are having issues as well. I get the keys to the new home today. I cannot wait.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday.

@Tabatha_Cain Yayyy! Congrats on finally closing and ready to move in! Don't overdo the work involved in the moving now, so you don't hurt yourself. I bet you're just thrilled! I would be too (except, I've moved so many times in my life that next time, we'll be hiring movers and/or buying a place already furnished!)! Enjoy!

@Tabatha_Cain oh hon!! We ALL totally get it!! Moving is so stressful!! Izzy the first few times I moved (which included from Maine to Colorado!) she freaked out!! Guess she was worried I'd leave her behind!! NOT On her kitty life!! She's MINE and awwwww she even rode on the plane WITH ME!! Indeed I more than willing to pay for her own seat!! LOLOL!! In the end I didn't have to do that. BUT she was with me the entire time. They get scared when we take them out of their routines. Are you in the new house now? Once you are of course its the little tie up things which need to be done. ONE STEP at a time. Its so much fun to unpack and decide what is going where.
@Ronnie_happy2ranch my last move I let the movers do most of it. So much easier. I knew where I wanted the furniture so of course I had them put it all in those spots. I hope I never move out of here until I need more care!! Do you think you'll move again? @Kuritze how is your move going? @Sparkuvu, LOL will you be on the moving train? I AM NOT!! I just passed my 7th year of being here. Every day I am still amazed. Today I couldn't see the harbor which is right here. Tonight though its gorgeous.

    Good Morning VIP friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Friday and it is move in day. We got the Key last night but we only got 1 key and they still had the other so they could finish moving out because they were behind schedule. I am hoping they got everything out. Otherwise we are screwed because we cannot move things in. They were supposed to leave the second key inside the house when they locked the doors.

    @Sparkuvu - Thank you.
@Ronnie_happy2ranch - I looked into hiring movers and they wanted $2,000 just to load a truck and drive it to the new location and unload the truck. That is a lot and even though I have the money I am trying to save money.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - We are getting into the new house today. Moving in. We have almost everything down to the main room. So it will take a bit for the kitties and the dog to get used to the new home.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Friday.

@Tabatha_Cain - WooHoo! Moving day! Your pets will be right at home with you in no time. The stress behind you now. Have fun!

@Dianedoessmiles1 - beautiful picture! We got a call from our DS in AZ. We are headed down for a visit and to help him out. Wouldn't you know, more snow than all winter this morning! We'll pull out this afternoon, head for the coast and take a calm and slow trip. 86° today in Gilbert where we are headed. Grandkids, warm walks and family fun ahead.
    WooHOO!!!
We've rented a car for trip down. We gave our converted work van/camper to our GK's a couple of years back when they moved. They've not used it, so we get it back. Driving home like the hippies we are. Primitive, but an awfully lot of fun and function for it back in Oregon. We can go camping and pull our boat to nearby lakes. Plus room for more GKs when we camp at the river! They all love the "mhuck" for vacations. Our DS, masterminded our winter adventure. What a gem.🤍

@Tabatha_Cain Ouch on that cost for hiring movers; I did it once or twice but it was only like $250 (back in my apartment days). You will be so happy when you're all done!

@Dianedoessmiles1 I do think I will move again; we're hoping to buy a winter place (somewhere warm) in the next year or five. We're going to look at Lake Havasu in April to see if we even want to go there and a lot of the places we've seen online are already furnished). I really don't want to have all these stairs when I retire (we have 4 levels in our home and the laundry room is in the bottom level).

@gouldsgranite That will be fun to have the van/camper! So much easier than hauling an RV/camper with a truck and more roomy than car camping. We ran into a couple last year in Yellowstone who came from Canada in an old 1960's (or 70s) VW camper/van (photo attached); the photo doesn't do it justice, but it was just the coolest thing I had seen in long time and I really want to get one of the newer ones now, but I don't want a car payment! knjquh736u4o.jpg

@Tabatha_Cain HEY CONGRATS on your new house!!! Hopefully the utilities are turned on and working. So strange how at times that goes weird!! Of course, cable/internet can be a pain, but once established its done. How did the fur babies do?
@Gouldsgranite that just sounds like a fun and terrific adventure!! Hey hippies never stop being such. Oh that'll be so much fun and later again when you can all camp with it!! WOOHOO ROAD TRIP!
@Ronnie_happy2ranch, love the downsizing as we age (a little LOL). Four levels is great when we are young and with kiddos. But, thinking of creaking bones (we hope not! Mine do, but at 8000 years old mine should!) and stairs do not mix well. I TOTALLY LOVE the VW van/camper!! That's so AWESOME!!! Here's the one my Mom had. With us 8 kids, it was needed. LOL and we all loved that thing!

@Kurtize, so excited for you also!! In just 2 weeks and you'll be on the road also!!

    Good Morning VIP friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Saturday and well it is going to be a rough week. We got 1 load moved and it contained almost all the big heavy appliances and furniture. Only our refrigerator was left behind yesterday and we will get that today. The animals were all gotten, but not without some massive angry cats. Two have come out of their bedroom, one is still hiding in there, and the two that are out one is hiding in the main house, and one is sometimes walking around and getting petted. Which is good. She is adapting faster. The dog cried all night in her crate despite being taken out 3 times over night. She refused to potty outside so she already had an accident inside. I cannot feel mad at her for it. I just cleaned it up. She is stressed and it is all new. Plus outside is like a sheet of ice. At the middle of the week we had snow and then freezing rain so it is snow with ice over top of it and it is really hard to get around in the backyard. Plus normally we just let her outside and she runs around herself. Well we cannot do that because our backyard is not fenced in yet. I signed the contract yesterday but they are saying 7 weeks. Like I cannot believe they originally told me 2 weeks and now they are saying 7. It does not make sense. So right now my dog is sleeping on the living room floor because she did not sleep last night.

@gouldsgranite - Thank you. The pets are here. Not sure they are quite adapting yet. Our dog refuses to potty outside. Also none of them are eating yet.
@Ronnie_happy2ranch - We are almost done. We have one more load to get today. So today we should be completely out of the old house.
@Kurtize - I hope you are better prepared. I honestly felt I was not prepared at all. I was packed mostly but then realized I forgot things. I thought it was a lot but I missed a lot as well.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - We have electric and heat. We have well water and a septic tank so we don't have a bill for those. We have internet installed. We don't watch cable so we did not order it. I also set up trash service. The dog whined in her crate all night even though I took her out 3 times last night. The cats freaked out, but all 3 are at the new house. Still hiding for the most part.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.

@Tabatha_Cain Good that you are into your place. Once you start to unpack more and more and they smell the familiar scents that'll help them. Aww Chloe is still a wee puppy (pun? MAYBE!) once she adjusts to not being able to run freely in the yard (until you can all take care of that) she'll be fine. The kitties also. Now that you are totally out of the house, as you relax, they will also.
@Kurtize, that picture looks so relaxing!! Tabatha and I will join and perhaps also @Patti241 and @Macrat12

    Good Morning VIP friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Sunday and it is church online today. We have the truck to still unload today. We are finally out of the old house. My son is supposed to go in and clean the house for me today. I hope he is able to do that. I just cannot unload everything today and then also go back and clean. Today I have to set up my office because I have to work tomorrow. The dog is still not wanting to potty outside. She hates the tie out.

@Kurtize - I would say you definitely get better at moving. I will definitely Join you for some drinks.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Yes I am so glad to be out of the other house. Still adjusting to being here though. Chloe definitely does not like the Tie out. I feel like we failed her as we should have trained her just in case.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday

@Tabatha_Cain, did the house get cleaned out? Chloe will adjust. Give her time. I'm watching the game and was cheering on the Chiefs, lol they didn't work.

    Good Morning VIP friends:

I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Tuesday and I am working a full day at work today. I am still a bit tired, but not too terribly bad. I think I will survive. We ended up buying a new Fridge. So that took the last of our money. So no new couch or car repair. We still have to wait for the fence to be installed. Luckily We have the money for the fence. That will be good. Money goes so quickly when you are moving. Having to feed people that helped you move. I mean I guess you don't have to but it is the right thing to do. Also paying people who helped you move. That was a must since we hired the Amish to help. My son would not have been so good at helping. He has a nerve issue with his arms and he struggles with strength and so he barely could lift anything. He helped me clean and pack, but that was about it. His friends bailed on helping. They said they would and then backed out at the last second. So we hired 2 Amish teenagers. Paid them $250 each which they were really happy about.

@Dianedoessmiles1 - The old house is cleaned out and keys turned over on Sunday. I am hoping Chloe adjusts quick. It may not go well for her if she does not. Joe already just wants to keep her in the crate all day and only be let out to potty and eat and drink because she won't stop pottying in the new house.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.

    @kurtize - 🤍 filling up with goodness.
Going to need that extra love and energy for grandkids today.

@Patti241 - how are you doing? Things getting to a new normal with your friend?

@Tabatha_Cain - Good on you, feeding and buying some good help for your move. Sounds like you've about got it handled. Great job!

We're on the road to Phoenix. Took a rest day, got to see our DGS Tucker on TV, and now we'll get there this morning. Ordered a mattress for our camper, amazing, in Phx takes one day to ship. It'll be ready for us today as we arrive. Yay!

    Have a great day, all.

Hope you all are having a great day. Had my zoom meeting, it is with friends in OR and CA. My Oregon friends were happy to hear we are coming back to Oregon. I didn't realize it was going to be so much of a ordeal to change our car insurance. If we stayed in Texas I guess no problem. I was on the phone then on computer signing docs. but finally it is all done. Not much else is new, just packing and changing address. Hugs all
