Tabatha_Cain hopefully work went well. WOOHOO on Weds off hopefully, they can blast the kidney stone. In 2016 I had to have a stent put in, and YO!! That waws horrible!! It was great though when it finally passed!! Many say (Female who have had kids) passing a kidney stone is much more painful. I say "Hey when you have a baby you get something cute and awwww sweet!!" Hopefully the sales will go well with no issues.

Good Morning VIP Friends:
I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Tuesday and I have one more day of work. I cannot wait to get this day over with. I have lots of things I want to get done tomorrow. We are going to be packing more. I think we are pretty much done with packing until we are actually ready to move and we can get our bed and stuff moved. I have thought about just living out of boxes for a while. That may be an option. Not sure yet though.
@gouldsgranite - Thank you.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Thank you. I do hope the same go well.
Well I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday.
Tabatha1 -

NATIONAL DRESS UP YOUR PET DAY
National Dress Up Your Pet Day on January 14th provides a special day to celebrate with your pet and show off their fashion style. Pets do become part of one's family. Whether you take a visit to the groomer or take it a step further and dress up in matching outfits, be sure your pet companion is safe and comfortable.
#NationalDressUpYourPetDay
Please remember to keep your pets safe and comfortable in the pet clothing and costumes that you choose.
Tips for dressing up your pet:
If your pet just doesn't like dressing up, let them sit this holiday out.
Be sure it fits. Restricting movement or ability to breathe can cause injury or illness.
Many pets like to chew. Avoid loose or dangling pieces which can cause choking hazards.
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL DRESS UP YOUR PET DAY
The name of the day tells you how to celebrate it; dress your pets up! Keep your pet's comfort first and foremost.
Family and friends will appreciate your sharing a gift card they can use at their favorite pet store! This makes it easy for them to purchase a cute outfit for their pets.
A visit to the groomer for a bit of polish and trim always improves our pet companion's appearance. Get a snazzy bandana, bow, or collar to show off the fresh do. How about a sweater for chilly, long walks? If the tutu is too, too much, your pooch will let you know. Be sure to share your favorite pet poses with us. We love to see how you #CelebrateEveryDay. Use #DressUpYourPetDay to post on social media.

@patti241 - Good day!
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Yay! The self care wheel is a real boon to my day. I open the computer and there are the things of which to plan my day. The visual really helps! Hope yours helps you along like mine!

@Tabatha_Cain, enjoy the day off!! Great job on being mostly packed!!! The boxes I need to unpack fast I mark them so I can easily tell them apart or put a sticker on the top of them. I always put enough plates, a pan, fry pan etc. together for 3 days , towels, bedding, clothes in case I can't unpack fast. I HATE going through boxes.
@Gouldsgranite like you i put a lot of thought into it. I am pleased with it. I am now also working on my vision board. TY TY TY!!!0 -
@Tabatha_Cain enjoy day off. How are things going with house. I know it can be very frustrating and nerve wrecking.
Nothing too much going on here. Still some snow on ground and it is in some spots icy. Saw a neighbor walking dog and almost slip. That is one reason I am not taking Kayla for a walk. I don't know what I do wrong when doing my total body exercise but I always wake up the next morning with one of my knees being weak. But that isn't going to stop me will do some seated exercises today. Hope your day is going well.

@Kurtize, Smart not walking on ice!! Ice does scare me, but snow nahhhh not in the least, unless there's ice underneath. Do you know what's going on with your knee as to why it's weak?
@Gouldsgranite, actually it IS helping me. I keep it near by bed, when I wake up in the AM I immediately plan out a few things for the day. It helps me to add back in fun!!! I should start again working on my 3D puzzle of the Titanic, I had to get new fairy lights, OSCAR THE Heheheheh BRAT Kitty (he's actually so sweet, but yeah he's FULL OF MISCHIEF, but usually that's okay!! LOL USUALLY) bit them. Now to take it apart enough to put those in.1 -
Good Morning VIP friends:
I hope you are all doing well this morning. Today is Wednesday and I have a lot to do today. Joe has 2 doctor appointments today and I have 3 or more calls to make to get quotes for home insurance and discuss some things in regards of the sale of my home. It is a lot and there are so many people calling and bugging me.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Thank you. I still have so much to get done. I have so many calls to make. I will definitely be marking boxes for urgent unpacking. That is a good idea.
@Kurtize - I am pretty stressed. I am packing and putting stuff in our main room. We don't have a solid closing date yet for either property. People are not calling back with insurance quotes for the new home. So now I have to call them and find out what the hold us is. We need the insurance set soon. We also have a lot of snow.
Well I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday.
Tabatha1 -
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Izzy kitty fun. Am I seeing Fairy lights on your puzzle? 3d titanic? Wow. We are doing a 2000 piece beachfront this winter. I mean it. Spring should be here when we get 'er done. 5x harder it seems than 1000 pcs. I agree. The self care wheel puts ME back in the driver's seat of a great day.
@Tabatha_Cain - Congrats on doing all the things to get your new home.
Busy times, hope you can enjoy the process.

NATIONAL BAGEL DAY
Toast up your favorite flavor on National Bagel Day. On January 15th, don't forget to pick your favorite schmear, too. Make it for breakfast, lunch, snack, or all of the above!
#NationalBagelDay
This kosher carbohydrate brings complex flavors to the deli and sandwich bar. In the United States, we love our crunch-on-the-outside-chewy-on-the-inside bread. So they're a staple in our freezers and as a winter pick-me-up.
Bagel History
Polish-Jewish immigrants introduced the bagel to the United States. Throughout New York City and the surrounding boroughs, they grew thriving businesses. Of course, it didn't take long for the bakers to organize. In 1907, they created the International Beigel Bakers' Union. For decades, Bagel Bakers Local 338 held contracts with nearly all bagel bakeries for its workers in and around the city.
Until the 1960s, bakeries made bagels by hand. Then Daniel Thompson invented the bagel maker, and along came a heated debate of man versus the machine. Thereafter, the question of the better bagel dangled before customers. Was it the handcrafted beigel or the manufactured bagel?
The bagel became more common throughout North America during the last quarter of the 20th century. Credit for the bagel's spread across the country goes in part to the efforts of bagel baker Harry Lender, his son, Murray Lender, and Florence Sender. Their pioneering efforts led to the automated production and distribution of frozen bagels in the 1960s. Murray also invented pre-slicing the bagel.
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL BAGEL DAY
Have your favorite bagel combinations. Invite friends to get a schmear or two with you. Try new combinations. Do you like yours toasted or not? Breakfast bagels, pizza bagels, cinnamon bagels, they all sound so delicious right now. Which one will you choose?
Maybe you are unable to celebrate today. That doesn't mean you miss out! Grab a gift card and celebrate later.
Brush up on the bagel's history in the United States. It's a vibrant and enduring one. Use #NationalBagelDay to share your favorites and give your favorite bagel shop a shoutout, too!
NATIONAL BAGEL DAY HISTORY
Once, the bagel shared a day with lox, but no longer. As of 2020, the bagel branched out on its own to celebrate all kinds of bagels.
Bagel FAQ
Q. I'm trying to watch what I eat. Can I still celebrate National Bagel Day?
A. Yes! Bagel makers understand the need to take care of our health. That's why many of them make mini bagels at a fraction of the carbohydrates and calories of a full-sized bagel.
What's the best way to cut a bagel?
A. Bagels are round and a bit awkward to slice. The best way is to lay the bagel flat and slice it horizontally with your dominant hand while holding it in place with your opposite hand. Keep your fingers and thumb out of the way. This video provides a detailed demonstration:

Happy Wednesday. @Sparkuvu that's what I ended up doing (putting on a knee brace). Feels much better today. I did some easy exercises. Hubby yelled at me, he said wait until the knee felt better. I did seated ones so I don't think I irritated it any more than it was. Not too much new, had our monthly zoom Bible study and get together with friends that live in CA and OR. Other than that not much new.
@Tabatha_Cain sending hugs, good vibes and lots of patience as you go through this closing. I understand completely.

@Tabatha_Cain, first of all SEND ALL OF THE SNOW HERE!! We are 53 inches SHORT of our total for the year!! Last year Massachusetts had a good size (for the NE) wild fire, this is on our minds now! Hopefully today got some quotes for insurance and that part is settled or close to it!! WEIRD I'd expect them to want a new client! Hopefully soon your worse part will be "How will this get moved?" When I was young I just threw a pizza party to all who came and helped and we all loved that!! We did it for each other, but my last move which was literally just next door. I hired a mover, it was just easier all the way around. It's not cheap, but it was done fast, which I totally enjoyed.
@Gouldsgranite, Oh I'm planning on taking out in a bit after I drop by PS4L and catch up what I can there! I'll put a picture in. Its a very different type of puzzle, but it's awesome!! I do enjoy the wheel. Also journaling.
Have you all looked over what Ceri put up for us about Visions of Knowing Yourself: Journaling. We'd LOVE to hear what you think about journaling!! Here's the link: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10931081/visions-of-knowing-yourself-journaling#latest
@Kurtize, I know you are mindful of your knee. Hopefully soon you and Don will be able to think again of moving. Joyce, I LOVE that picture!! There is beauty in 98% of the things we see, if we just look at it that way.
Today a friend and I went to a park we both love. If you've been to Maine to tour/play you may of been to the Portland Head Lighthouse. That's where we went today. This is a picture from the Fall. LOL It was 20 F and I didn't get out of the car. There are no flowers right now, and the grass is brown with maybe a tiny bit of ice.

NATIONAL NOTHING DAY
Each year on January 16th, people across the nation recognize National Nothing Day.
#NationalNothingDay
The observance was created as a day to provide Americans with one National Day when they can just sit without celebrating, observing or honoring anything. (National Day Calendar only reports the Days, sometimes they may contradict themselves.)
Martin Luther King Jr. Day falls on the third Monday of January which means that one-in-seven January 16th’s will fall on the same day as Nothing Day, effectively usurping the nature of Nothing Day.
While it may be a good day to celebrate nothing at all, we suppose putting nothing in a glass and setting it on a table might suffice for celebration. You might leave your diary page blank every January 16th. Don't mark anything on the calendar on the 16th, either. It would be interesting to see what would happen if you sent a blank email dated January 16th. How many replies would you get saying, "There's nothing here."
For people whose birthday lands on January 16th, wrap an empty box. That should elicit a nothing response appropriate for the celebration.
When asked, "What are your plans, today?" your response should definitely be, "Nothing." What else would your answer be on a day like today? Now that we think about it, "Nothing" works well as an answer when recognizing the day.
Q: What's for supper?
A: Nothing
Q: What are you reading?
A. Nothing. (Even though you're clearly reading something.)
Q. What's your homework assignment?
Nothing. (As you're working on your homework.)
Q. What are you drinking?
A. Nothing. (As you sip on the best non-fat latte ever.)
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL NOTHING DAY
NATIONAL NOTHING DAY HISTORY
In 1972, columnist Harold Pullman Coffin proposed National Nothing Day. The day has been observed in all its nothingness since 1973. The observance is sponsored by Coffin’s National Nothing Foundation, registered in Capitola, California.

Fun Fact:
WORLD WATERFOWL DAY
January 17 is World Waterfowl Day and we are spreading awareness, knowledge, and interest for waterfowl, as well as the conservation of these birds and their habitats.
#WorldWaterfowlDay
Waterfowl are mid-sized to large birds commonly found on or near water. This group of birds is comprised of more than 170 species of ducks, geese, and swans found throughout the world's wetlands. Sadly, one-third of all wild waterfowl are considered threatened or endangered.
Habitat loss and human population growth are the primary causes of waterfowl declines. Water pollution from agricultural runoff, waste, and other contaminants destroy the food sources for the waterfowl. As wetlands are destroyed, so are essential spots for breeding, nesting, and feeding. World Waterfowl Day presents an opportunity for all of us to work towards the protection, conservation and reproduction of all waterfowl species to stop them from being in danger of extinction.
5 Common Waterfowl Habitats
Waterfowl are incredibly adaptable and can be found on every continent except Antarctica. In fact, they thrive in almost any environment that is near water.
1. Wetlands provide a safe place for nesting, feeding, and breeding.
2. Lakes and ponds provide food and shelter.
3. Rivers and streams are used for travel and foraging.
4. Agricultural fields and farmlands provide important feeding areas, especially during migration time.
5. Estuaries found in coastal areas are important feeding and breeding areas.
Protecting waterfowl is crucial. The loss of one species from our ecosystem can have an effect on other species. By protecting waterfowl, we are not only safeguarding the natural world but also the habitats that many other living things rely on - including humans!
5 WAYS TO CELEBRATE WORLD WATERFOWL DAY
1. Go birding! World Waterfowl Day is all about appreciating waterfowl, wetlands, and nature. Get outdoors and visit your nearest wildlife refuge, park, or nature center to look for and learn about waterfowl and other birds.
2. Attend an event. Conservation and education organizations worldwide are invited to host their own waterfowl-focused events on or around January 17th. A list of events and participating organizations can be viewed at waterfowlday.org.
3. Show your support, stories, and photographs of waterfowl during World Waterfowl Day on social media using the hashtag #WorldWaterfowlDay.
4. Create a wetland area or rain garden near your home using native plants. These plants help to stabilize soil and filter pollution out of rainwater runoff, resulting in cleaner water for everyone.
5. Support a conservation organization in your area by donating or volunteering your time.
HISTORY BEHIND WORLD WATERFOWL DAY
Sylvan Heights Bird Park created World Waterfowl Day in 2024 to spread awareness, knowledge, and interest for waterfowl. The January 17th date honors Mike Lubbock, one of the world's leading waterfowl conservationists. In addition, World Waterfowl Day is also supported by the International Wild Waterfowl Association.
Sylvan Heights Bird Park
World Waterfowl Day
International Wild Waterfowl Association
The Registrar at National Day Calendar approved World Waterfowl Day in 2024 to be celebrated on January 17.
About the Founder
Sylvan Heights Bird Park is a non-profit organization and home to one of the world's largest waterfowl conservation centers. They have been an international center for waterfowl training and research since 1989. Sylvan Heights was founded by world-renowned waterfowl expert Mike Lubbock and his wife, Ali. The Bird Park is dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats, with a particular focus on waterfowl and wetlands. Sadly, Mike passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
In honor of his lifelong commitment to waterfowl, Sylvan Heights Bird Park would like to invite other conservation organizations, wildlife refuges, nature centers, educators, and ornithologists to celebrate World Waterfowl Day by spreading awareness, knowledge, and interest in this often overlooked group of birds. ~Sylvan Heights Bird Park
Mike was born on January 17, 1944. He dedicated his life and career to the conservation of birds, and had a direct role in the recovery of several endangered waterfowl species. He was one of the world's leading waterfowl conservationists and willingly shared his extensive knowledge and passion for birds with many people. He was deeply committed to educating the next generations of wildlife conservationists.

@Dianedoessmiles1 - Your volunteer group sounds fun. Got in Yoga early. It's been a good week for me. Been getting into new exercise routine for several weeks and for this week 1, fitbit agreed, today was best a rest day. So Papashop and I played pool, puzzled and did some housework at a comfortable pace.

@Kurtize as my Mom used to say (and others) "A loser never wins, and a winner never quits" TY TY TY
@Gouldsgranite, SUPER AWESOME on the great week and getting into a nice exercise routine. Mine is always based on the day and how I am feeling. I can quickly go from walking for a few minutes to "OH OOPS! I need a seat FAST!" mode. BUT I am still doing this!! And I keep hoping once they tweak the meds and have been reading up on it, it is still possible they'll find the right combo and hey, I'd LOVE to get to yoga!! That'd be awesome and doing the exercises on the weird channels (I use a wall antenna which is only 22 at Walmart or Amazon etc.) I DROPPED Cable!! WOOHOO!!! In the bedroom I get 30 channels in the living room 40. ALL FOR FREE!! The local ones absolutely such as NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox23 and CW and the odd ones. On some of the odd ones I see exercises classes. A WIN/WIN!!! OHHHH you like puzzles! Have you seen any like the one I am working on?
ITs a 3 D puzzle I brought on amazon(27.00). Instead of having a flat puzzle its built to look like the Titanic!!!

Fun Fact:
NATIONAL WINNIE THE POOH DAY
National Winnie the Pooh Day on January 18th commemorates author A.A. Milne's birthday in 1882. He brought the adorable, honey-loving bear to life in his stories, which also featured his son, Christopher Robin.
#WinnieThePoohDay
Milne's lovable Pooh Bear, as he was fondly called, is a fictional bear inspired by a black bear named Winnie. Winnie lived at the London Zoo during World War I. The author's son, Christopher Robin, would visit the bear often and named his own teddy bear after her and a swan named Pooh.
This friendship inspired a collection of books starting with When We Were Young in 1924. E.H. Shepard beautifully illustrated the books.
Their adventures took them and millions of children through the Hundred Acre Woods. Each character played a unique role in the books. Whether the wisdom of Owl or Rabbit lead the group awry or a celebration ensued, the story's characters became beloved around the world.
In the 1960s, Disney bought the rights to the Winnie-the-Pooh characters dropping the hyphen from Pooh's name. The illustrations were a bit different, too.
Milne's stories have been translated into over 50 languages and are considered classic children's stories today.
HOW TO OBSERVE WINNIE THE POOH DAY
Snuggle up with your favorite Pooh fan, a pot of honey, and take turns reading about the adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Share your favorite Pooh Bear adventure or quote. Watch a Winnie the Pooh movie. Listen to songs like "Return to Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins.
You can also read more about this lovable bear in 7 Intriguing Stories About Winnie-The-Pooh.
Use #WinnieThePoohDay to post on social media.
NATIONAL WINNIE THE POOH DAY HISTORY
Since at least 1986, National Winnie The Pooh Day has been observed across the country. However, we've been unable to identify the founder of the day. We will continue researching.
