I've not been that great with eating this week, but I also did my first PT session in a year yesterday and I have DOMS, so I'm hoping that some of that is water weight.

Quick intro: I'm Jolene. I live in Colorado with my husband and three dogs. I was really active as a teenager and through college. I gained weight after college, but lost it through running and counting calories. In 2013, I ended up with a hip injury that stopped me from running for a few years. I joined this group two years ago and have yo-yo'd between 170 and 193. So far this year, I've mostly been in the green even if it is really small like this week's weigh-in.
@cleaneater80 I love Stephen King. Recently I finished "Fairy Tale" by him and am currently reading "Holly". The one I'm reading now is good, but "Fairy Tale" was excellent. I definitely plan to read it again at some point.
@Kali225 I like the idea of all doing the same workout video and sharing our experience, but I can say that it would be impossible for me to get done. My house is chaos, so for me to get a workout done, I have to go outside the house to pickleball, spin class, CrossFit, running, hiking, etc. But! The recipe idea. I love that! I've shared it before, but one recipe I enjoy that is also really easy, is zucchini pizza bites. I make mini pizzas and use zucchini rounds as the "dough".
@lauren_989 My goals for the month of May are to continue with little to no drinking, and focus on making it to CrossFit four to five times/week.

@Kali225 I love both of your ideas!
How about for this month we share a recipe. Everyone can post either their favorite, easiest, healthiest, or any other ideas for their recipe. I am always looking for new options as well!
I have been busy this week. Yesterday was a full day at work and then I had a dinner meeting (which always run late). I have been walking every day on lunch this week which always is a nice way to break up the day, especially since it's been sunny and warm! After work today, I was able to get out for my walk/jog before the storms rolled in.

Recipes it is!
I had a pretty good day today, although it started with a nasty hangover from a work happy hour-turned-late-night-multiple-bars-situation. Oops. But I got some great feedback at work, which was validating, and the rain finally let up in time for me to go kayaking after work. My back muscles are feeling the burn as I head to bed! Gotta think on what recipe I want to share.

Not a great week, and I don't think the ~9 drinks on Wednesday night were any real help. :/

Hello @jugar and team! I was a member a long time ago and would like to return. Can I join May? I know I'm a bit late... I'd like to weigh in on Fridays and can give you my Fri 9 May weight for the record. Once I'm in, I'll do a little introduction. Looking forward!
Starting weight Friday 9 May

Absolutely! Welcome back @Pearl4686! Liselyn, ( @jugar ) has stepped away from this group and she is missed! Looking forward to learning and hearing about you!

Hi @lauren_989 thanks for the welcome. I can see a few familiar names - hi 😀
I'm Pearl, 43, and live in the UK with my husband and kids - a very busy and hectic household.
I've been obese/overweight all my life and battled with weight loss on and off. Last summer I seemed to lose weight without the usual effort which had me very pleased. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a symptom of late sudden onset of type one diabetes. This was quite a devastating blow for me and came as a complete shock. Took awhile to grieve and accept this new reality but I am now insulin dependant and have good control over my blood glucose.
Weight loss has stalled which is a good thing really, but now back onto my regular battles with trying to lose weight.
I am good at posting my weight every week but less so at writing & reading posts but I will try my best.
Wish me luck :-)

Can my sister @RifkaRoth8622 join too? And if yes, how do I get a link to her?

@Pearl4686 oh no! It's never a good thing to lose weight unintentionally! I am glad you got checked out and are on steps to better your health!
Yes, your sister can join as well. I will invite her to the group and she can join and then look for the waistaways discussion post or send her this site:

Happy Sunday all - and a happy mothers' day for any US-based moms in our midst!
It's gorgeous weather out today so I am trying to figure out if I want to go kayaking or try to get house chores done. Not quite as warm as I would like it to be, but so much better than the 5 days of rain we've had.
My binge eating has been really bad the last few weeks. I did so much better with protein this past week which I am really happy about - finally forcing myself to find some tolerable protein powders. But now the most important goal has to be stopping the binges. If this much more protein didn't help, what will, I wonder. I am also going to try to finally start my 6-week workout challenge. The live group started in early April, so this week would have been my final week if I could keep up, but the flu and travel and stomach trouble kept me out of the game. If I start today, I would be done around June 20th. In the past, when I have seen one of these challenges through, I have felt really strong and accomplished at the end, so it would be nice to carry those vibes into the swimsuit season.

So I know we talked about posting recipes each month. This is my favorite seasoning for baked chicken.
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Mix the spices, apply some olive oil to the chicken, then sprinkle and cpver the chicken with the spice mix. Put the chicken in the oven for about 30 minutes at 350F (until it's 165 degrees). Quick, easy, and delicious!
