Daily step goal for me is 10,000 steps. I can usually get 3-4 days per week. Trying to work up to everyday.

So...my guess is my weight will be up this week. But I did enjoy every sip! Saved the brownie for later!

@lauren_989 wow wow wow, that looks scrumptious.
I got more steps yesterday than I have in a good while, about 14k which is double my goal - but sadly my left foot (which is the BETTER foot of the two when it comes to this long-standing tendonitis issue) was really hurting by the end of the day. Clearly overdid it. And I haven't been consistent with daily PT so that's what I get!!
Still, it was a nice day - my dad is in town for the weekend, and we went to the arboretum where the lilacs are in full bloom. The smells were amazing!
Here's some funny motivation I got this weekend - my dad loves the show Reacher on Prime, with Alan Ritchson. I hadn't seen it so we started from the beginning. I am really liking season 1! Very violent but I've been lacking with action movies lately. Anyways, Alan Ritchson is in legitimately INSANE shape for this show, and he takes his shirt off for a good number of scenes. And I was thinking to myself, man, if this is what the human physique is capable of, surely I could make more progress on losing 90 more lbs??? He's very good looking in my opinion, but I was just kind of laughing at myself for how dumbstruck I was by his body. 😂
Happy Sunday team! And welcome back Yinka!

Greetings everyone! Thanks for having me back, Lauren @lauren_989
My name's Yinka and I was a member of this team for some years. I left last summer thinking "it's fine - I can take it from here!" What a dufus I was! It's taken me this long to realise that I can't do this alone and that I need the accountability of this group.
I'm 61 years old, and I live in Worcestershire UK with my husband, Ben. We have a grown up son who is married and lives with his adorable wife across the pond in Virginia USA. I work as a Digital Skills Tutor for my local council and I also teach English as a second language for adults in the county. And I am also an AI consultant. And I'm writing a book about land referencing (very boring, but there isn't one at a basic level, so I'm writing it).
Ben and I are starting a brand new 30-day Fit Loss Challenge tomorrow and I am very excited! My groceries were delivered this morning and I will prep a few meals after I send this email to you all. I will be journalling my experiences. Meanwhile, I'm so glad to have you all in my corner.
I am currently heavier than I have ever been, so this re-start is crucial. I still enjoy exercises and I am currently doing Heather Robertson's 12 Week 5.0 program. I am now also trying to go for "intentional" walks on alternate days.
Here's my current weight - as of this morning - 193lb. Sunday is my weigh-in day. I would also like to join the step club. My daily target is 8000 steps.

We made it home from the beach and it's great to be here! We had 2 large branches fall from a storm while we were gone and 1 almost landed on our AC unit!
Time to get back to normal eating & exercise. I did go for 1 last walk on the beach this morning, plus a walk when we got home! 🌞
Great job team coming in second place this week! 🥳
Congrats to the top winners @cleaneater80 @Alatariel75 @Pearl4686
We just got back from vacation, so I will work on the step report tomorrow! 🚶🏼♀️

Good evening Waistaways!
I really pushed myself this week, my food was almost perfect, no alcohol at all. 2 to 3 litres of squash a day. Busy week at work, so step count was good....
I am so hoping to be in the next decade tomorrow 🫣 This morning has not quite gone to plan, so I'm hoping tomorrow will be better 😁
@lauren_989 can I please weigh in on Monday this time 🥰
Steps:
Friday 16th May 23,662 steps
Saturday 17th May 14,593 steps
Sunday 18th May 16,538 steps
Have a lovely evening everyone 🥰

Good morning and happy Monday everyone 🥰
We'll, my "next decade" weigh in did not happen this morning either 🤦

Have a lovely Monday everyone 🥰

So far so good. The weekend was not perfect by any stretch but better than it has been historically.
Welcome back @YinxFed from a fellow returnee, I remember you fondly.
@strong_fit_ells so close, you can almost taste it :-)
Last night I had a large bowl of pasta, something which used to be on my regular menu but I haven't had in awhile. I felt pretty awful afterwards, bloated and lethargic. Funny how it never had that effect on me before, or maybe I just didn't pay attention. But I guess, once you're off something, it then shows its true colours. I'll be mindful in the future...

Okay so I do not expect the next few weeks to be good, I have learned that without the sink, my food prep skills are terrible, and we no longer can have the temporary sink. I have to do better.
@YinxFed Welcome back.
2 -
Thank you so much for the warm welcome, Friends!
So today marks the start of my brand new 30-day Fat loss challenge. I recognise that one of my downfalls is snacking. I might skip breakfast, or lunch, but then I tell myself that it's OK to snack "because I didn't have X". So with that in mind, I had breakfast with hubby (I just added 2 eggs to his that were in the saucepan, boiling!) We were meant to have them with green veg, but I folded and allowed 3 little new potatoes instead! But lunch and dinner are already prepped. I'm going to whizz up a smoothie to have as a snack before dinner. I'm at home today, so it's easier. The next test will be tomorrow when I have an afternoon training session to deliver.
No workout today because I had a dentist's appointment. I always find my visits to the dentist to be traumatic so it's all I can think about.
Now that's over, I can focus on work.

Here are my steps from last week.

Oh @MaddawgMadsen your post just hit me right in the chest. I could have written that. The gaslighting and lying was just heartbreaking, and it just went on and on. I am working on it in therapy and I'm learning that he wasn't primarily lying to me, he was lying to himself and I was collateral damage. I would get so angry because the abusing alcohol and (if they were available) prescription drugs was bad enough but the lying made it so much worse and I would take it so personally. Now I'm starting to see that it wasn't about me, though that's really hard to admit. I too was faced with the very likely scenario that if I left him, he would have harmed himself, and that was something I was having to come to terms with. I loved his so much, but it was destroying me. In the end… he did what he did anyway.
If you ever want to talk, I'm here, I've been through it very recently.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well.
I did it.
26.8km/16.6miles, 4 hours 50 minutes, 671m elevation gain, 23c/74f, rocky, challenging terrain in the outback.
I ran around 1/3 of it, brisk hiked the rest. I finished 112th of 151, and have now hiked/run some of the most gorgeous, rugged parts of Australia. I have the bug, I'm looking for my next one already!
The red arrows show the peaks I hiked to, then ran across/down.
@Alatariel75 wow! That is awesome! Very hard work! Are you sore? I wouldn't be able to walk for days after that!
1 -
@lauren_989 I'm sore but ok! Glutes are complaining and my thighs are making it hard to get up and down, but I'm MUCH better than I deserve to be, given that my training consisted of hikes (no running) and a couple of ParkRuns! I've never run a trail in my life until I decided to let loose on this one. I did have a magnesium salt bath last night, which helped.
@Alatariel75 I don't know if I have ever meant the "inspiring" reaction on MFP before as much as I did hitting it just now on your post! That is incredible!! What was the outdoor temperature like? It's autumn in Australia now, isn't it? Did your friends come away with as much enthusiasm as you?
@strong_fit_ells so so close! don't lose your momentum! I want to get into the 230s quite badly myself but you are much closer than me. Lead the way girl!
I have finally, finally, FINALLY started my 6 week workout challenge today, a full 6 weeks late from the planned point, but start I did. Good first workout. Hope it helps me sleep well tonight. I always feel so extra tired on Mondays. It will be a long weekend here in the US for most this upcoming though, and I am soooo looking forward to it. Fingers crossed for good weather - kayaking and reading in the sun would be my preferred agenda all 3 days.
4 -
@Alatariel75 I'm lucky to get 47,000 steps in a week 😂
@Kali225 kayaking and reading in the sun sounds amazing! I hope I can enjoy some good weather on the 3 day weekend!!
@strong_fit_ells you are doing amazing! You will reach the next decade before you know it!
@Gidgitgoescrzy I can only imagine how not having a sink can mess with meal planning! Do you have a plan B?
@YinxFed I am not a fan of the dentist at all... even if it's just a cleaning. It sounds like you have a plan for food for today and tomorrow! Keep taking it one day at a time!
Forgot to post yesterday.
PW: 134.4
CW: 134.4It seems like I’m stuck here, and I’d like to lose a few more pounds. I must change things up a bit if I want to see that happen.
1 -
@Alatariel75 That is so awesome, congrats to you, they would have had to airlift me outta there. You are truly an inspiration.
@lauren_989 No Plan B - last night I washed dishes in the bathtub. It was so weird, and not something I ever want to do again. We just try to eat foods we don't need actual dishes for. So my lunches are just not actual meals, like today, I have 2 hard boiled eggs, cantaloupe, walnuts and a cheese stick. Which is perfectly fine cause I really like all those foods. I was craving some fresh fruit this week, so I bought cantaloupe and watermelon pre cut up, it killed me to pay those prices, but darn it, I did it anyway, and it was worth it.
I am so looking forward to this weekend, I will have 5 days off, we are having cabinets delivered on Friday, so I get to be the list checker, then the damage recorder and reporter. lol. Hopefully we get that all done in one day. Saturday, I am meeting up with my oldest son, his BF and my grand doggy. We are going on a hike. I have not been on a hike since New Years day! I am so excited. My husband has been busy, and my youngest son who lives with us now would just be miserable on a hike. I guess I really need to learn/get comfortable to go on hikes by myself, since I can't always depend on someone going with me. Sunday, I don't really have any plans, same with Monday, maybe I will see if I can get my youngest in a kayak, again something I should learn to go and do by myself. Tuesday, I have a drs appt, but it's not till the afternoon, so I might actually go to work because 2 other people are off, 1 I cover for, and the other one, is my second on the bank pays, so for both of us to be off, it makes it a mess to get the banking done. I don't know, we shall see.
Whew I rambled. Have a great day !
MaddawgMadsen Thoughts are with you - you shouldn't be parenting your husband. Hope he can find the help he needs, you are doing your best in a tough situation.
It was a long weekend here in Canada. I was out camping and had the typical camping food. Hotdogs, burgers etc but tried to balance it out and not go overboard. The weather was ok but not great.
Had a good workout this morning and going for high tea with my 10 year old daughter. We are getting dressed up and going to have a 'fancy' afternoon. I'm excited for it.
@Kali225 it was around 24c and full sun, so it felt pretty warm, especially in the gullies where the breeze was blocked. It's desert, so as soon as the sun went over, the temp dropped very fast!
My friends had an amazing time, though we ended up splitting up - I was the only runner, and one of the girls had a chest infection so she ended up not doing the trail but volunteered instead, so she was at the finishing line handing out beers when I got there! We're all feeling very accomplished, though I'm the one still high on endorphins.
