    @Katmary71 - Awe…poor kittens, it's so sad. I hope all the rest don't get sick. Thank you for all you do helping run this group. We appreciate all the time you put in.

    @trooworld - I love the purple in your hair. You look great! I wish I could see NIN. You sure did get a lot of steps in. I like the book marker too. Sorry, your so sore today. I hope you get some relief soon. Fingers crossed the test results come back clear.

    @TeresaW2024 - < < HUGS > > You are a strong and caring women. I hope it isn't too difficult getting Joe to his doctors today.

    Keep working.  Keep trying to make the healthiest food choices.  Keep doing the strength training workouts and the HIIT cardio.  Get sleep.  Meditate.  Follow your SMART goals and track them.  You are doing great.  Healthy, fit or thin people don't have magical lives--they just better cope with these events and are able to stay on track. YOU can do it, too. It’s ok to take a break sometimes.  Just don’t take a break from everything all at the same time.  A break from cardio should mean careful calorie consumption.  A break from strength should only be for a day or two.  A break from restricted eating should not be coupled with a break from exercise.  If you need a break, decide what kind of break you need.  Get the recovery that you need from the break, and get right back on the program.  You CAN do it. Your true self is there within, experiencing all of this and she is rooting for you!

    It's getting really hot here now, I like to ride about 10am when everybody is at work and there is very little traffic. I added a half a mile more to my ride. Time to check the tire pressure and oil the chain, I think. Not much going on around here. We sold our silver bullion and got a tidy sum for it Silver is at an all-time high. A nice gentleman came to our house to buy our Silver, I loved that.

    @DrewsAnna I love that photo of Mt Rainier it’s so beautiful! Think I asked you this before if you know where Lake Tapps is, I have relatives that live there and in Seattle. Have an awesome trip!

    @FushiaKat Could you have ever predicted a few years ago that you’d be living your best life tearing around on a Trike when you decided to lose weight? It makes me happy just imagining you on it with a big smile! Congrats on the great sale too!

    @Veta2018 Thank you I appreciate it !

    @trooworld Those are some serious steps! I’m glad you had your cane that’s smart thinking. I love your tee shirt! I’m so glad Comic Con went well. Hm, it kind of looks like the cat thing was shaped like the activity board for dogs and cats which helps challenge them to be creative getting treats. Jasper loves then but Asher not so much. Thank you. I hope you’re feeling better from Comic-Con, I know it’s still worth it but it’s frustrating to feel so bad after doing something. Glad the rest of your day was nice, good luck with the mammogram today.

    @TeresaW2024 LOL ChatGPT DOES know all the things! Hoping the appointments go well, it stinks having two in one day especially in the heat and Joe not feeling well.

    @AustinRuadhain That’s amazing exercise!

    @askewcr You’re welcome!

    IF YOUR FUTURE, HEALTHIEST SELF COULD GIVE YOU ADVICE TODAY WHAT WOULD THEY SAY? Not to overdo it and make it sustainable.

    Hi gang! Didn’t get much sleep I took a nap earlier and am still wiped out so headed to bed now. Have a great Wednesday!

    That old saying "Slow and steady wins the race" is true. BE PATIENT !!! (You didn't gain all that weight in a few weeks, so don't think you'll lose it in a few weeks".) Don't believe all the BS hype on Fb (and elsewhere) on how so-and-so celebrity (or "average Joe / Jane") lost all that weight and gained all that muscle "in just 3 months" !!!

    @Veta2018 Thank you ! I would love to see NIN, too. They would be great in concert. Oh, lots of steps and I'm feeling it, girl! Thank you! Clear results, so yay! I like your answer to the discussion question!

    @DrewsAnna Beautiful picture ! Enjoy!

    @Katmary71 Thanks ! Yes, it was a lot of fun and I survived! lol Your cats do have different personalities, huh? Eh, I'm still hurting but yes, it was worth it! Thank you. How are you feeling?

    Hi all. I'm still a bit sore today. Yesterday was my first day back at work and I hate coming back to work after taking a day off because I have so much work waiting for me! I was busy all day. My mammogram follow-up went fine, there is no cause for alarm, what they saw was benign and I can go back to my regular 1-yr follow-ups, so that's good.

    Tracked yesterday? YES

    Hi everyone, I decided to leave the Slim Impossible group. I'm just not in the right headspace to continue, and I have a lot of other outside things to focus on right now. I appreciate you guys letting me join your group. I wish you guys the best on your weight loss and health journey!

    @Katmary71 Thank you, for letting me and even my mom join a while back. The support was appreciated. I will say I did lose 3lbs from last week's nightmare weigh in. I think some of it was cycle and salt retention. Anyway, thought I would just mention that I'm not as fat as last week. lol! I did lose some weight with you guys in the beginning and I did reach one of my main goals which was to get to 300lbs and less. I'm stuck in the 80's but I know I'll overcome it one day. However, like mentioned before, I have other stresses, obstacles to focus on right now. Thanks again!

    @Cornanda Thank you I wasn’t expecting that either but it’s pretty common to have sick kittens but from the fosters I follow I’d been thinking it was more common to lose them when they were younger. Still shocked she’s gone.

    @baodell17724 Right don’t fall for the lose weight in a day or this magic supplement is all you need! I chased those for so long both for weight and pain issues without much success. I actually DID try that shopping method before! I’d forgotten about it thanks for the reminder.

    @trooworld I want to go to the NIN concert with you and @Veta2018 ! Thank goodness on the mammogram follow up that’s great news! It does always suck going back to work after missing a day you seem like you stay on top of everything well too. Hope the soreness goes down a hot bath or shower is in order tonight!

    Hi friends! Thought I had a doctor’s appointment today but it’s tomorrow, feeling real worn down so glad of that! Kittens are all doing well, the one who’s had the most trouble with being sick went up on the scale today for the first time since he came here. Weirdly the girl in the bathroom with him went down so I’m trying to make sure they are eating enough (he eats better with me in the bathroom just nowhere comfortable to sit). Three of the boys are now 3lbs which is awesome! The other went slightly down too so I’m keeping an eye on him for the most part they all gained a lot the last week. I’m going to run to the community garden to up my sprinklers, have a great Thursday!

    @trooworld Love the picture of you! You look sooooo skinny! That is such good news about the mammogram being benign. You can breathe now. 🙂

    @Katmary71 I am so sorry that little Raye didn’t make it! ☹️ Glad the others are doing well. I hope the doctor can help with why you are feeling rundown. Are you doing too much as usual? 🤨

    Good morning! Sorry, I’ve been missing, but it’s been an intense couple of days. Joe and I didn’t make it to his doctor’s appointments. I got him to stand up and try to walk after he ate breakfast, and he immediately collapsed. In that moment, something in me broke, and I knew that what we had been doing couldn’t go on any longer. I had to stop trying to get this old, sick man to do things he can’t. So, I called his doctor and got a referral to hospice. Nurse Lori came yesterday and signed us up. I have been experiencing a range of emotions, but mostly intense relief. Today, the nurse assigned to him will come out and meet us. She will come out twice a week for now, and more often if needed.  We will also receive visits from a social worker and chaplain once a month. And if needed, I can get help to assist with his basic care needs. He is going off of almost all his meds, and we will move into comfort meds as needed. I called my boss and told him that I can no longer go to the church to pick up the money, mail, and drop off payroll. Last night, a deacon came and assured me that they are there for me and will do whatever is needed. So that is that! We are in the final phase of this terrible disease that is sucking the life out of my love, and all I can do is pray that it doesn’t go too quickly. ☹️

    @baodell17724 That is an interesting idea .

    @lislisa123 Oh no ! I'm sorry to hear you are leaving. I hope you decide to come back someday when things are less stressful. Big hugs to you.

    @Katmary71 That would be a lot of fun ! Yes, that was great news and a relief! The soreness is pretty much gone today but yesterday, it was still there. I'm so glad to hear that the kittens are doing well now.

    @TeresaW2024 Woo hoo ! Thanks! Yes, I was quite relieved! I'm sorry about what happened but glad you got some help. That MUST be a relief. I'm also glad to hear the church is being supportive. HUGS to you both, my friend.

    Hi all. I got a call at about 3 pm yesterday that my car was already ready! So, I left and took the rental car back and picked up my car. It looks great. Today, I have to go to PT (I have one more visit after this) and then later today, I have to go to the dentist for a cleaning. I will be glad when things settle back down. Thankfully, it's almost Friday, I'm ready for the weekend!

    @TeresaW2024 Thank you! I’m so glad you’re getting help both via the nurse and through church. I think you made the right choice, the last couple weeks have been tough ones and I think the nurse and other support will make a big difference. Sending lots of love your way. The last sentence brought tears to my eyes I’m so sorry for both of you and your families to have to go through this.

    @trooworld In case you haven’t thought of it think back to a year ago where if you did something big you were ending up flared up for a long time, to bounce back from freakin Comic Con in a few days is amazing! High 5 you badass! So glad you’re car’s back with you and the repairs went well. Good luck with all the appointments!

    Hi friends! Long day I started needing to pick up the seeds at the farm as the manager went home early yesterday and the office had been locked. We started three trays of arugula, two of cabbage, and three of purple lettuce. Came home and weighed the kittens, the one with bad diarrhea who was losing and finally gained weight went back down again. He’s a little fighter he’s super feisty and has no clue he’s sick. They all got medication for possible worms which may be his issue then he started another medication for Giardia. My girl who’s skittish is actually coming and laying by me yay! Got a lot of work done then had a pain clinic appointment then a woman from the rescue came by to help with all the medication stuff. I’m going to let all the kittens play together, I think the ones in the bathroom need to run around a bit. Have a great Friday!

    @Katmary71 - Wow, what a busy day you had! Hurray for the kittens doing well. I love that the shy one is becoming cuddly, and the feisty one sounds adorable.

    @trooworld - Congratulations on the car being back! That’s great! I hope the dentist trip went well. Just a cleaning, so hopefully all went smoothly! Hurray for being almost done with PT! Do they have follow-up things for you to do at home, too, or is this an “all done”? I am so glad your mammogram results were good! I need to get one this fall. *sigh* I never look forward to those, which is not particularly rational. Thanks for sharing about Comic Con. It sounds fabulous! The closest I have gotten to that is Dragon Con, in Atlanta. By the way, I like the Cookie + Kate recipe site, too!

    @TeresaW2024 - I am so sorry about your hard morning, but it sounds like you made a great decision to get help. You are brave and strong. I hope that this allows you to work less and frees up some space to just be there for Joe, be his Pita. I am glad the church is being so understanding. Oh, and congratulations on maintaining. That is so great.

    @lislisa123 - Congratulations on dropping that 3 pounds. We will be happy to see you back, if there comes a time when this fits better for you. Take care.

    @baodell17724 - Thanks for the reminder about breathing exercises! Those definitely have value. My version of the shopping algorithm is related to that. I try to minimize “middle of the store” shopping. I shop the produce aisle, the canned veg and beans aisle, coffee and fizzy water, and then frozen fruits and vegetables. I thought of you today. I read about this in New Scientist and am passing on a link to it elsewhere: "a groundbreaking study has found that [obesity]’s far more complex [than just BMI], uncovering 11 distinct biological types of obesity, each with unique causes and health risks that could change how we treat and understand the disease."

    @DrewsAnna - Mount Rainier is stunning. Calling the mountain “her majesty” is just perfect. I want to go see it some day!

    @FushiaKat - You are doing amazing at maintaining!It's so inpsiring! Congratulations on the silver sale!

    @Veta2018 - “Celebrate the victories” -- that is great advice from future you. I will use that, too!

    @vegan4lyfe2012 - Congratulations on maintaining! How is your ankle? Are the ankle exercises helping?

    Congratulations to everyone for their ongoing great work. I was glad to be on the leaderboard. I did keep noticing last week what a great week the whoile group was having. I keep thinking that this group has such great energy that it helps me want to do well. Yes, I thought of you all last night when I sat next to friends who ordered a gigantic pizza at a get together, and stayed on my food plan.

    If your future, healthiest self could give you advice today, what would they say?

    Work on persistence, sweety. It took persistence to get the weight off (again) and now it takes persistence to keep checking in to make sure it doesn’t creep or leap back up. Don’t be so hard on yourself when it goes up. Keep letting other people know what’s going on. It helped you get to a healthy weight and it will help you stay here.

    Doing this future self exercise reminded me of an exercise a trainer had me do years ago. She had me find a picture of the body I was working foe. I then took a picture of my face and hung up a picture of the future me I was creating. I want to do that again!

    @Katmary71 - All the kittens playing together sounds SO cute. I'm glad the rescue is responsive and helps you out

    @trooworld - Yay for a clean mammogram, finishing PT soon and the car being all done

    @AustinRuadhain - I admire your persistence!

    @TeresaW2024 - Hugs and prayers my friend. I'm glad you made the call, even though it had to be hard. I'm glad you will have people in your corner who can make this part of your journey with Joe easier for both of you.

    Next up for me: My Dad is finally having his hernia surgery next week. It was delayed earlier this year as he needed stents and they had to heal before he could have the surgery. The delay has been tough on him- He's been in the ER at least 10 times in the last 6 months. The hernia keeps popping out- and then sometimes GI issues arise from that and he has to go back. I'm going to stay for a week and take care of Mom so that he can rest and heal. He is not particularly glad that I am coming- he doesn't feel it's necessary. It should be an interesting week.

    @Katmary71 Awesome , thank you for that! You are right! I'm glad the one with diarrhea is gaining. It sounds like they are doing much better. I hope today is less busy for you and you get some reading time in!

    @AustinRuadhain Thank you ! I'm happy about it. Dentist trip wasn't too bad, I hate going but am pleased with my clean teeth. I have one more PT session to go to and yes, they gave me exercises. Will I do them? I don't know. I know I might do them when I am at the gym, but when I am at home, I doubt I will. I know what you mean about mammograms. They are uncomfortable to get and stressful! Dragon Con sounds fun, too. Yes, Cookie + Kate has some good recipes, huh? I agree about the group. Good job staying on plan while your friends ate a giant pizza!

    @davors19 Congrats on the loss !

    @Cornanda Congrats on the loss ! Thanks. That's good your dad is having hernia surgery. That sounds painful! I hope the week goes better than you anticipate and your dad cooperates with resting.

    Hi all. Some colleagues at work gave me this beautiful plant for helping them out with something over a period of a couple of weeks. It's an anthurium plant. I really like it and hope I don't kill it like most plants lol. Speaking of giving people things, my SIL asked if we wanted a brand-new couch she doesn't want so we said YES. It's a nice gray couch with a chaise portion. We will have to rearrange the living room for it to fit but we should be able to make it work. We are renting a U-Haul van tomorrow to get rid of the old one and get the new one. I maintained today, which is better than gaining I guess!

    @micaroo4 Thank you, I know that calling hospice was the right choice. 🙂

    @Katmary71 How old are the kittens now? I know it’s so fun to watch them running around and playing. I hope the little feisty guy gets better and starts gaining weight. 🙂

    @AustinRuadhain Thank you, I am feeling a lot of relief since deciding to call hospice. Good for you for sticking to your plan despite that gigantic pizza. 😎

    @Cornanda, I’m glad that your dad is going to get his hernia surgery and that you will be there to help, despite him thinking it’s not needed. You know it’s very much needed! Being there for a week will give you a good understanding of exactly how they are doing. I hope your dad will stop being stubborn and accept the much-needed help. 🙂

    @trooword, that anthurium plant is gorgeous!😍 I hope you don’t kill it too! 😀 Congrats on getting a new couch and for maintaining.

    Good morning! Yesterday, we had the opportunity to meet our hospice nurse. She is a lovely, older woman with bright red hair and over 20 years of experience in hospice care. She said that our hospice just got voted the best in North East Georgia. We still need to meet our social worker and chaplain, who I suspect will be calling either today or early next week. Today, I’m going to go through Joe’s clothes that he won’t be wearing again and rehome them to my brother-in-law, who could use them. Y’all have a good day!🙂
