@Cornanda I so appreciate your wise advice! Yes, I need some help, and I’m hoping to get him on palliative care, which will turn into hospice. For all I know, he needs hospice now! I know we have progressed to the point where he needs skilled nursing, so that we can stop going to doctors. He has a port that requires monthly flushing, along with monitoring his sodium and potassium levels. At this point, there is no leaving him. I would be too worried now that his communication skills are all but gone. No, I’m in this until the end, and I have to dig deep and be who he needs me to be. We had so many talks in the early years about this day and what it might look like. I just never thought it would be this freaking hard or that dementia would take my brilliant Joe’s mind from me. ☹️ No, your dad shouldn’t be leaving your mom alone, and hopefully, he will realize that before something happens. We caregivers are a stubborn lot, and we need caring people like you. Thank you again. ♥️

@Katmary71 I’m glad that all the kitties found their new homes. Of course, you got attached and cried! That is why you're so good at fostering. I hope the new babies adjust well. Too funny about your cats being afraid to cough up a hairball, or they will get kicked to the curb too. 😂

@trooworld I think your hair is super cute! Of course, you have to play with it and get used to fixing it your way. I can see how you could do all kinds of cute styles! 🙂

Good morning! I can’t believe today is Monday already. I swear I thought I had more days to lose some weight this week. Guess not!! 🫢 Oh, well, it is what it is. Today, I have to get some church work done. I have a whole bunch of sticky notes of stuff that I need to take care of. I’ve been thinking about getting a hospital bed for Joe. It would require a massive rearrangement of our bedroom, but I think I could make it work. He has such a hard time getting in and out of our Tempur-Pedic, so it makes sense, but I still hate the idea of him not being in our bed at night. ☹️ Maggie is at my feet thinking it’s time to get up and get going. Have a great day! 🙂

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If you were a literary character, who would you be? I have to choose Jo from Little Women! I read that book so many times as a young girl, and Jo was exactly who I wanted to be.

    Monday Weigh-In

    SW 265.2
    PW 211.2
    CW 211.8

Two weeks ago I was at 214.8. I was pretty sure I was dehydrated last Monday morning, so that the number was artificially low. Anyway, onwards! I am aiming to be back in the green next Monday!

    Plans:

    • Meal Planning: Eating well for health and weight loss are the number one thing this week! I will go shopping this morning after I finish meal planning. I know I want to make Sheet Pan Ratatouille (an old favorite) and Fermented Beets and Carrots (a new thing) this week. (Side note: I fermented cabbage last week, and am loving my homemade sauerkraut. I make it a lot milder than storebought. Yum!)
    • Walking: Last week, I got on 23.58 miles, so I will aim for 25 this week.
    • Upper Body: I am out to focus on improving my upper body. My stretch goal is getting strong enough to try something at the bouldering gym. I am so far from being able to do that! The big thing is starting body-weight calisthentics. Today's task is to do some baseline setting.
    • Bicycling? If the weather system shifts, I'd like to do some bicycling. I keep punting because I don't want to ride until it dries out a bit. The bike trail near me has areas where mud is washed over the surface during the nearly daily rains, and I don't to play slip-and-slide.
    • Hiking: I want to get in at least one 3-mile hike.

So much rain here, guys. I am from Houston, where stretches of daily thunderstorms in the summer are normal. I have never seen a stretch like this in Austin. We are under a flood watch again today.

We are spending a lot of time here talking about weather and geology. If anyone else is curious, here's an article that talks about key factors in the flooding that happens over and over in central Texas: Why Texas Hill Country is one of the deadliest places in the US for flash flooding.

On a positive note, people outside Texas are often surprised to find that Texans are really passionate in their love of our local grocery store chain, H-E-B. It's a big thing. (See this video clip of people at a comedy show. The comic, who sounds like he is from Scotland, asks someone where he works. When the guy answers, "H-E-B," people do indeed scream like it's a sports team.) Anyway, H-E-B is, unsurprisingly, out helping people.

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If you were a literary character, who would you be?

Hmm. I'd like to be Mark Watney, the narrator in The Martian, as he is so rational, competent and resilient. (Ask me about keeping my tropical bird alive AND getting my kitchen sink water supply unfrozen before it became a problem during the Big Freeze a couple of years ago.) But I might be Murderbot, from All Systems Red. Murderbot wants to explore the universe and watch premium quality entertainment. In truth, I am likely Walter Mitty, from "The Sectret Life of Walter Mitty" — nothing special in this big world but inwardly living the adventure.

@Katmary71 – Your “Eat the Alphabet” is intriguing! What are the rules? Awww more kitties!

@trooworld – I plan on making the sausage soup this evening…I had to get some spinach and finally remembered when I did my shopping. Glad your knee is feeling better. I need to get a collapsible wagon. It became extremely clear when we all walked down to the fireworks. I love your hair – you are such a sassy thing! You totally unlocked a memory for me – I used to LOVE Sebastian products! I had something that was a gel that I used when I spiked my hair up. What a blast from the past!

@TeresaW2024 – Not sure if I mentioned it before and not sure if you have something like it where you live, but here we have an organization called PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) and they do day programs where you can drop off your person while you do appts or run errands. They also come to your home for in-home sitting, if the person is home-bound. Could be just the recharging break you need so you can be his Pita again. Hugs.

@laurelfit57 – I hope you and your mother are having a good time at your brother’s! Poor Vannie!

@AustinRuadhain – I have ratatouille on my list for the week, too!

I have really been getting my steps in the past few days of having the new watch. I’ve only had a couple reminders to walk (I set it for every 30 minutes). I did turn it off while at the theater, tho. I’m also doing something a friend told me she did back in the day. Potty Squats. After every potty time, I do 5 to 10. I am hoping to build up to a higher number, but right now it hurts my ankle. I figure some is better than none, tho! I did my grocery shopping and made good choices. I still bought a few processed items, but I think they are still better than what I COULD have gotten.

I have had Oliver a lot over the weekend (kept him all day Saturday, overnight, and all day yesterday) to try and give Syd a break so she could rest. She’s scheduled for gall bladder surgery on Wednesday, so I’m taking Wednesday thru Friday off to take care of her and Ollipop. Selfish of me to say, but I hope she’s feeling good enough to have him by Sunday cuz the reimaginging of I Know What You Did Last Summer is releasing this week and we really want to see it.

Tonight is ME night. No children…no grandchildren…no mother. Just me, sausage soup, salad and stamping. I have a swap to finish and my great nephew’s Birthday is next week, so I need to make him a card and get it in the mail tomorrow.

Ugh. I have so much work to do since I’m only working 2 days this week, and all I want to do is stare at my nails! Sorry not sorry that I have to share this picture. The polish is magnetic and it’s just so freaking pretty!

@vegan4lyfe2012 You can't quite yet! The spreadsheet week goes Sun-Sat so if we switch you right now you don't have a weigh in for this week, want me to copy last week over and then switch you or would you prefer to weigh Friday then on Sunday?

@baodell17724 Those recipes look delicious! If you try one and love it definitely let us know!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Eating the Alphabet was in a magazine when I was getting my hair done, I think it can be more flexible like for “F” fish of a kind would be okay or “U” umani seasoning. I started it by writing the alphabet on a notepad and filling it in but a friend was going letter by letter each day and that sounds less time-consuming so I started doing that and jumped in with her. If you want to start at the beginning I’m game I just need to get to the store first. Great job with your steps! LOL I did potty squats when @AustinRuadhain had us do a habit challenge and decided I drink too much water to do that as my legs were killing me! Poor Syd I’m glad she has you to help her and hope surgery goes well. LOL I’d totally stare at my nails all the time too if they looked that beautiful!

@bobboyardee Congratulations on still being under 200, rockin it!

@AustinRuadhain That Sheet Pan Ratatouille is pinned now that looks so good and I have plenty of all those veggies! I love how you’re analyzing your habits I always learn so much from you.

@TeresaW2024 Glad to see I ’m not the only Jo fan from Little Women I loved her! I was curious to see how you’d take @Cornanda ‘s advice she said it as helpfully and kind as she could, I’m glad you took it positively. I admire the heck out of you, you’ve been going through Joe’s dementia with as much grace and love as a person could. I understand why you wouldn’t want to get the hospital bed though it does sound like it will be very helpful.

@trooworld I think I know the Sebastian molding mud you’re talking about why do they have to rebrand things so much?! You’ve been doing awesome with the gym! I’ve noticed that too about Amazon where you think you’re getting git right away and it’s delayed, pretty frustrating.

Hi team! I decided to stay home from the farm aside of dropping off some stuff on the way to the store and get things done at home plus get the room ready for kittens. I met two other women from the rescue at the house and he ended up having 2 litters of 3 and one of 4 (one mom cat was taking care of all of them in a small bathroom). I agreed to two litters of 3 then one from the last litter was clinging to the carrier like he was losing his best friend so one of the women and I looked at each other and decided he was coming too. He’s been going toy to toy having the time of his life here so I’m so glad I did take him! They all have eye infections, I’m not looking forward to eye ointment 2xs a day but we’ll get through it. One or two kind of look like they have dwarfism they’re super small, the one he named Yoda for her low ears looks like a Munchkin kitten and is super friendly and sweet. I’d better go figure out something for dinner, have a great night and happy Tuesday!

    Good morning Slimpossibles!

@Katmary71 - new kittens already, what fun! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - that nail polish is beautiful!

@baodell17724 - I will definitely save a few of those recipes.

@TeresaW2024 - you and Joe are in my thoughts and prayers. In my local area, the Lions Club has medical equipment that they loan to people who need it. When my mom was dying, I was able to get a hospital bed from them. We set it up in the living room rather than try to rearrange the bedroom. That also left the bedroom as a place of privacy for my dad when other people were in the house providing care services.

@TeresaW2024 - sending you hugs and prayers as you get through this one day at a time. It can't be easy when your spouse is still here, but yet they are not at all who they used to be- at least that's how I feel about my Mom and trying to imagine that situation with my DH is painful- and it's just imaginary. I feel for you girl. Kudos for recognizing that palliative care could be so helpful to you right now. My Dad is not ready for that yet- he doesn't see that keeping Mom's body going without her brain working is not a good thing. And it also means he spends a lot of time dragging her around to routine doctor appointments and that is not quality time spent together. Thanks for taking my message as it was meant- kindly- I just don't want to see you all fried out during this hard time when there are tools available that can help you with that.

@Katmary71 - oh my goodness, how small is a dwarf kitten? A kitten named Yoda with funny ears. Thanks for the smile just thinking about it. Eye ointment does not sound fun, but I know you can do it!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you ! I appreciate that. I hope the hospital bed helps you out.

@AustinRuadhain Good plan you have there . I hope it stops raining soon there. I've never been to an H-E-B. I'll be sure to go in if I ever see one!

@bobboyardee You are doing great , keep going!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I hope you liked the soup . Yes, the collapsible wagon was a good deal, too: $40 for a highly rated one. I was going to get it on Sam's Club but it would have been $20 more on sale. So, I got it from Amazon! Oh, thank you! LOL Sebastian products...indeed a blast from the past. I used that texturizer I got yesterday and I really liked it. I may have to try that gel you used next. I'm glad the watch is motivating you to get your steps in. Potty squats are a great idea! I hope you get to see the movie. Did you get to stamp last night? I hope you did! I'm GLAD you shared that picture, your nails are beautiful!

@Katmary71 I know , right? Thank you! If there was another option besides Amazon, I would go with it, but unfortunately there isn't and Amazon knows it so I'm stuck with late or unreliable deliveries. :( So, how many kittens do you have now, 7? I can't wait to see pics of the new kittens! hint hint

Hi all. I was supposed to have PT yesterday afternoon but the PT therapist was out sick. My knee is feeling a lot better so I hope the next time I go, they say I don't have to go back. I am trying to decide if I want to take Friday off to do some crafts and just enjoy the day. I think I may.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

Who or what inspires you to keep going, especially when things get tough?

My answer: I am inspired by my former decline in mobility: I DON'T want to lose my mobility, and that was exactly what was happening before my surgery. It kicked my butt into gear and got me going on a better path. I am also inspired by my husband, who has lost around 100 lbs naturally. He works out 6 days a week and eats a simple but healthy diet. He mostly intermittent fasts (eating once a day), which is not for me, but works for him. I am also inspired by all of you! ❤️

QUESTION: Who or what inspires you to keep going, especially when things get tough?

It remains the realization that at 68 years of age, I don't have many more years to CONTINUE to get "fitter" in my life. I already have a MS diagnosis, and who know what other health challenges may await me "tomorrow". Being "obese" or very overweight (for me, at least) has kept me from being "my best self" throughout my life! No more! Besides, I'm starting to see my peers develop serious medical issues (some which might have been preventable) and two friends passed away, recently. As I mentioned before, I live in a Senior-disabled complex that tends to have a resident pass away every 3-4 months (and way too many of these folks had serious weight issues).

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thanks for telling me about PACE. I do think we have something like that, but Joe is too advanced in his dementia for me to leave him. The good thing about Joe is that he sleeps so much that I have several hours a day to do what I want. It’s how I get so many puzzles done. 😁 I’ve heard of Potty Squats, too! Additionally, try doing calf raises while doing activities like cooking or brushing your teeth to help strengthen your ankles. I’m obsessed with your nail color!! So beautiful. 😍

@Katmary71 I took what Cornanda ’s post said as she intended, out of concern and friendship. The one thing I’m very good at is self-analysis. I’m very aware of my failings and what I need to do to change. I need to do it! 🙄Awe, your new fur babies sound so cute!! Little Yoda needs to come to my house. 😀

@micaroo4 Thank you so much for your prayers! I wouldn’t want to put Joe in the living room. My house is super open, and with my mom and sister living here, it would be hard. I have a big bedroom, and will need to get some of the strong men from the church to come over and help move it. But I also plan to wait until he is in hospice and lean on their advice on whether he needs a hospital bed or can stay in ours. 🙂

@Cornanda, I so appreciate you and your kindness. You have a better understanding of what I’m going through than most people, and discussing it with you is so helpful to me. Loving a person with dementia is incredibly hard because we start grieving while they are still alive. I had that same situation with my drug addict daughter for 8 years before she died, and now I’m doing it with Joe. I try to look on the bright side and think that maybe God doesn’t feel I could handle a sudden death, so He drags it out for me. Better than thinking I’m being punished for my past sins! 😂

@trooworld I’m glad your knee feels better. Yes, take Friday off and make crafts and enjoy your day. Why not? 😀

Good morning! Seriously, should I stop dieting and embrace my fat girl and be done for now? Yes…No…I don’t freaking know!😫 I don’t think I care right now. I don’t want to keep gaining, but I also don’t like the pressure of having a weigh-in day. Perhaps I should go to team support and just hang out with you all until I'm able to focus solely on myself. I don’t want to think of myself as a quitter, but perhaps it would be best just to let each day be what it will be and stop putting needless pressure on myself. What do you all think? What would you do if you were in my situation? 😕

Question: Who or what inspires you to keep going, especially when things get tough? HaHa, what a perfect question! I might need to think on this one for a while. 😏

    Hi 👋

I didn't cut down my Monstera yet... actually, I didn't do much of anything yesterday. I went grocery shopping, cleaned up Chippers 💩💩💩 and I went to bed at about 9:30....

I don't have much of anything going on today, haha.... I have a rather boring life 😅😅😅😅

Who or what inspires you to keep going, especially when things get tough?

Right now, it's the Wegovy, I'm having better luck with it than I've had in a long time. I have lost about 15 lbs., which is a big accomplishment

    Y'all have a great day 😀

Who or what inspires you to keep going, especially when things get tough? My inspiration was always my dad, especially for inspiration to exercise. He used to say "Activity is longevity". He set goals, like mileage goals for bicycling, and if he made those goals, he'd make some new goals and keep pushing. As for food, I don't have inspiration. I have a plan, and I follow it. Drive with both hands on the steering wheel. I have days when I'd love to eat myself into a carb coma, but I keep my food demons in their cage, because I've worked too hard to get to my goal.

@TeresaW2024 - what would I do if I were in your situation? 🤔 I'd stick with the team and keep weighing in weekly. You know there's no pressure here, right? The team isn't looking for a win; it's about accountability and support. Weighing in is a weekly reminder of your goal. From my own experience, embracing your inner fat girl is a bad idea. If she's anything like my inner fat girl, she's a child. She needs a parent to plan her meals, or it would be chocolate cake for breakfast!

@Katmary71 – I think the Eating the Alphabet sounds fun, but not positive I’d actually stick to it. You’ll have to share with us what you choose for each letter while you’re doing it 😊LOL on going potty too much! I forgot to do them this morning a couple times. I’m so glad you didn’t leave that one little kitty behind. He’s gonna be your favorite!

@trooworld – The soup turned out scrumdiddlyumptious! I brought it to work for my lunch, too! I thought the wagon would cost way more…I’ll check out Amazon. Glad you like the texturizer. It’s so fun to play with hair! I did not end up stamping last night. The craft room was just too hot. I need to put a window air conditioner in that room ASAP. I have an extra one in my shed. Just need to have my SIL put it in for me. You should totally take Friday off for crafting. I just put in a vacation request for the week of July 28th. I’m going to have a staycation…watch movies and craft the entire week (except for when I have Oliver, of course). I told my mom on one of those days I’m going to bring over a bunch of movies and we’re having a marathon. I’m thinking I’ll make some picnic style foods for the day, too, like Cowboy Caviar and vegan hot dogs. She’ll love it.

@TeresaW2024 – Good idea to do calf raises! Thanks for reminding me. It was one of my PT exercises. If you take a break from losing weight, I think it should be just that. A break. A temporary pause while you deal with all the overwhelming feelings with Joe. You definitely need to stay in the group and keep chatting with us. You don’t need to isolate. Whatever you choose, know that we are all here for you. No shame. No guilt. Just a breather.

As I mentioned above to @Katmary71 I keep forgetting to do my Potty Squats. I thought it would be smart to link that small habit with going potty, but dang does my ADHD make me forget things so quickly! All I can do is promise myself that I WILL do them when I remember. I made @trooworld ‘s sausage and bean soup last night for dinner and I can’t recommend it enough! I did double the spinach, tho. Cuz I loves me some spinach (Popeye lols). Oh and I made it oil free (sauteed in water instead). Gotta share a picture to make all of you want to make it, too!

    trooworld sausage soup.jpg

I’m feeling all nostalgic again, so I’ve printed up the little weight watchers weekly sheets I used to do. I lost 60 pounds back in 2009/2010 using the old points system, so I am back at it again. I told myself I’m going to give myself 4 weeks on it and see how I do. I was just thinking yesterday about how excited I was to try something new and use the points system back then. Like figuring out what options gave me the right points I needed for the day. It was like a game. I need to find the joy in getting healthy again.

QUESTION: Who or what inspires you to keep going, especially when things get tough?
I’m a naturally negative person, so I have to put a negative spin on this. I don’t want to become like my mother. She is barely mobile. She’s lost quite a bit of weight over the years since she broke her femur, but she has no strength. When I’m her age, I want to still be able to do things for myself and not burden my children. I love my mother, but I get tired of having to do so much for her that she should be able to do for herself.

I'm enjoying the new trike, I try to ride it every day for about 3.5 miles up and down the hills around here. I pedal the entire time until I come home and go up our driveway then I use the power. So far so good, no issues to report. It's been really hot here, so I go early in the mornings.

My husband's helper Mike went to Washington for a Scooter Race; he passed out while riding his scooter went down an embankment and hit his head on a metal pole. He has a broken arm, fractured disc, concussion and his face is messed up. He was unconscious in the ER for over a week. We just heard that he was moved to a Critical Care facility in Oregon because he cannot breathe on his own.

Mike is a diabetic, he only ate a banana for breakfast, and we think he left his diabetic kit at home. Mike does not take being a diabetic seriously and just pretends he does not have it and eats lots of junk food. It's a sad situation. He lost both big toes, but that has not made any difference in how he cares for himself. I feel powerless to help him, and we don't think he's coming back from this. It will be a miracle if he can just walk on his own again.

@FushiaKat - That's great news about your new trike. Your story about Mike is heartbreaking. I suspect many of us have people in our lives who aren't taking care of themselves, some or all of the time. I know I do. Hearing a story like that is a wakeup call. All we can do is take care of ourselves, and ask the people we love to take better care of themselves.

@Katmary71 - Eating the Alphabet sounds like a fun challenge! Would you like company? Is it over a week? Also, your mention of potty squats has me thinking I should try adding it. As a start, just one. I am doing calr-raises-while-folding-laundry today. A`lso — more kittens? What fun!

@vegan4lyfe2012 - I hope that your Weight Watchers cards work well for you!

@micaroo4 - You and your dad are both inhspiring me! "Activity is longevity" is a great saying. I think he's right. My mom and I keep telling each other to keep moving as long as we can!

@DrewsAnna — I think a lot of us are grateful when life is quiet! Hurray for this being a time like that for you!

@TeresaW2024 — You inspire me each week with the strength and warmth you are bringing to this stage in your life. Let us know how we can support you. One quick thought about the bed — if he gets a hospital bed, can you slide in next to him, or create something right next to him (a recliner?) so that you are next to him and can at least hold his hand? I am thinking of my grandmother. When she and my grandfather were in a home, they put her and my grandfather in different beds. She'd wait until after lights out and then go snuggle with him. I just loved the feistiness and love in that. Anyway, I am thinking of you and Joe.

If you are feeling like it's too much pressure, maybe switch to maintenance for a while? I like @micaroo4's comment — I sometimes need a nudge to remember to listen to my grown-up self.

@baodell17724 — I am so inspired that you are working to gain health at age 68!

@trooworld — Woohoo! I am so glad your knee is feeling better!

@micaroo4 My phone fell into the water bowl at the house we got the kittens from and died yesterday so it ’s been in a bag of rice until this afternoon, I promise to post pics soon!

@baodell17724 Thanks @micaroo4 I ’ve seen the movies but the name didn’t click, I was going to Google it after I caught up!

@Cornanda Thank you ! We’re thinking the litters were more far apart than the man thinks as Yoda and her sibling are just over a pound then a couple are over 2lbs and he told us they were all born a few days apart.

@trooworld Amazon unfortunately has most places beat for deliveries , it IS frustrating. I have 7 kittens right now, I’ll post pics soon! Woohoo so glad to hear that about your knee! A whole day for crafting sounds wonderful!

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO KEEP GOING, ESPECIALLY WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH? Similar to Chris’s before I got my diabetes and liver issues under control I was throwing up every day and could barely move. It’s still hard to move but I don’t have sores all over my body and can do so much more than lay in bed every day which is what inspires me.

@TeresaW2024 LOL Yoda would love to come to your house ! Only you can answer the question about weighing in, think about it for a few days and whatever you decide I’m behind you. I don’t think you should embrace anything you won’t be happy about later. @micaroo4 gave you an awesome answer !

@DrewsAnna I ’m so glad the Wegovy is helping so much plus you’re making great choices.

@vegan4lyfe2012 That soup looks so good ! I like the idea of doing the Weight Watchers points, something about a new approach is very motivating. All those grand-children will be having great-grandchildren for you to lift!

@FushiaKat Oh my goodness I ’m so sorry to hear about your husband’s helper’s accident! Maybe THIS will be the wakeup call he needs? I agree it is frustrating to see people not care about their health when it really CAN make a huge difference.

@AustinRuadhain I ’ve kind of fizzled off the Alphabet challenge and am focused more on using up my garden and farm goodies. If we do it for a week I’d say we do what I’d originally done and write down the alphabet and hit as much as we can. Or we can rainbow challenge like the old days! One squat isn’t bad, when I did your challenge that time I had 25 squats every time I went to the bathroom and after half the day my legs were so sore!

Hi gang! Coming on a little early to hang with the kittens, they’ve been very scared today. A woman from the rescue group came by to check on them and we re-weighed and named them, most are Star Wars names aside of Stubby who lost half his tail somehow. I got my workout in and went to the community garden to fertilize everything, I need to go back tomorrow to clip stuff to my trellis. My phone fell into a water bowl at the house we got the kittens at and it shut down last night so I had it in a bag of rice and thank goodness it worked. My allergies are going nuts with the kittens as they’re all stinky so I’m trying to wipe them down when I’m washing their faces to help the smell of urine. Jasper’s been staring in at them a lot and they’re really curious about him, I’d closed the door yesterday as Asher kept hissing and growling and they don’t need that negativity! Made egg muffins, have Skinnytaste yogurt spiced chicken thighs marinating, and am working on Greek pasta salad to have with dinner. Have a great night and happy Wednesday.

@trooworld sounds like you did well on prime days !  I love your new hair!!

@micaroo4 I definitely think you are onto something with the glucose levels ! I don't have a machine but the days when I am very in control of my meal sequencing I definitely snack less, don't crave sweets and I do believe I sleep better.

@trooworld it is so hard to be Joe's wife as well as caregiver . I don't know how things work in the states at all, is it all possible for you to get some help?  It would be lovely if you were a supporter right now, stay with us, without any of the pressure. That is the last thing you need right now.  Let us know what we can do to support you

@Katmary71 wow ! Those kittens went really quickly!!  What an amazing Foster mom you are, taking on some more♥️

I had hoped to catch up a bit more tonight, but I am going to drop off to sleep soon🤣. The Weeknd was wonderful, hot (over 100° all weekend) and stressful. My mom and I stayed in a hotel, as my brother's place was full this weekend. I did not realize how bad my mom's memory was and her balance is not good. She has decided that that was her last trip, so I'm very glad that we did it. Had a great visit with my brother and all of his family, my mother truly loves to watch all the little bitties 🥰.

When we got home on Monday, I was so tired, the only thing I did was go and get my dogs and took them for a couple of walks. Most of the rest of the day was spent vegging, my brain was done lol. This morning I went to a weight class at the gym and then this afternoon I had Agility classes with both Ty and Vannie. I can hardly keep my eyes open and it is only 7:45 PM🤣

I will try to catch up more tomorrow

@TeresaW2024 Thanks , me too! Well...can't take it off now (see below). Ugh. You could go to team support for a month and see how that feels? It seems like you are going through a lot right now and maybe you don't need the pressure from the weigh-ins. I hope either way, you will keep coming to visit with us. For me, I would keep weighing in: if I didn't, it would give me an "out" to eat whatever I wanted and gain. I like @micaroo4 answer . I say keep at it.

@DrewsAnna Congrats on your progress !

@vegan4lyfe2012 OH good ! I'm glad you liked it. Well, I got the wagon on Prime day so it may be more now. Actually, just checked and it's the same price ($39!): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLVG52J3 I hope you can cool off your craft room so you can get to stamping. A staycation sounds nice. I hope you enjoy it! My craft day isn't going to work out (see below). Would it help to put a screen saver on your phone to remind yourself of the potty squats? I hope the tally sheets help. Sometimes shaking things up is all we need.

@FushiaKat I'm glad you are enjoying your Trike . That's really sad about MIke.

    @AustinRuadhain Thank you !

@Katmary71 True . I saw your phone fell in water, oops, that sucks! I'm glad the rice worked. 7 kittens, wow! Have a great day!

@laurelfit57 Thank you ! I'm glad you had a good weekend and that your mom got to travel to see relatives for her last trip. You need sleep, girl!

Hi all. After I posted my update, we realized our refrigerator wasn't cooling the food. The freezer was fine, but the fridge? Not. We just got this refrigerator 3 years ago! So, I went to work and got off at 10:30 to deal with the fridge. We took everything out of the freezer and threw some stuff away (it was overpacked) and put everything back in more orderly. We threw out most of the stuff in the fridge, so now we have a nice and empty fridge. We are hoping the overcrowding of the freezer is what was causing the problem. Today, it doesn't seem much cooler. I read that it can take 24-48 hours for it to get back to the proper temperature, so we'll see. I just don't want to have to call the repairman. We put a bowl of water in the fridge and will leave it there all day to see what temperature it is when we get home tonight. So, now I can't take Friday off. :( I did do some crafts after we dealt with the fridge.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

@micaroo4 Thank you! I always appreciate your insight, and you are so right in that my inner fat girl is a 5-year-old and LOVES cake for breakfast! I know there is no pressure from the group, and I so appreciate that. 🙂

@vegan4lyfe2012 thank you for your support. ♥️ OK, you need to put a post-it or something in your potty room so when you see it you are reminded to do your squats. That soup look really good. I also love me some spinach!! 😀

@FushiaKat What a terrible thing to happen to Mike! It does sound like he might not recover, which is so sad since this accident looks like it could have been prevented. He serves as a reminder of the importance of taking our health seriously. ☹️

@AustinRuadhain Awe thank you so much for your kind words. I’m not going anywhere, that's for sure! I have figured out that if we do the hospital bed at some point, then it will go right next to our current bed so we will be as close as possible. I love your feisty grandmother! Sounds like something I would do for sure. 😀

@Katmary71 Thanks, I’m going to continue weighing in for the time being, but will let you know if I change my mind. Asher needs to get over himself and accept those sweet babies being in his house. 😃

@laurelfit57 It is very hard being Joe’s caregiver, but the alternatives, like putting him in a nursing home, would be so much worse. I’m exploring our options for assistance so that he can stay home with me. It is wonderful that you and your mom had a good visit with your family. It’s also good that she knows that she shouldn’t travel like that again. And you need to get a lot of rest and recover.

@trooworld Yes, I agree with you and micarro4, and I will stay and keep weighing in for the time being. I hope your fridge gets cool and you can avoid the repair cost. My fridge has those fancy LED lights that aren’t supposed to burn out, and yet I only have one left that is working. I tried to reset it as the manual said, but it didn’t work. Most annoying! 🙄

Good morning! Thank you all so much for all your wonderful comments and support. Y'all are the best!! 😍 I am not going anywhere, and for now, I will continue my weigh-ins. I really don’t want to give up on myself, but I also don’t want to feel a lot of pressure, so I will just let each day be what it is. I really value that this is a safe place for me to come and just be real with what is going on my life. I also value reading about your lives and the ups and downs that we all have.🙃 Today, I hope to get Joe into the car so I can run up to the church. If not, then I will have to make other arrangements. I have a Zoom staff meeting tonight and have put my situation with Joe on the agenda. My idea is to have my sister go to the church and bring me the money, mail, and drop off the payroll. She drives by there almost every day. If they don’t like that idea then they can come up with another one. 🙂
