haha gotta love papa Dave. It’s holding me back from getting one of those oura rings and taking a break from the Apple Watch since the watch has become more of a distraction than it’s worth.Im staying in tonight. Too hot and humid and thunderstorms are coming through. Somehow think lightning and being in a pool won’t go together well.

WEIGH IN UPDATE
Reminder To WEigh In Tomorrow To @DrewsAnna @lislisa123Kittens are back home and resting, they had to be separated as one of the boys tried to mount one of the girls (she's in a onesie and was just staring at me like she didn't have any energy for fighting him off). The one boy is always kind of hyper not surprised he is after surgery, he was trying to climb in the water fountain and got all wet too so I took it away. Have the girls in the bathroom in onsies resting which one has gotten out of and was hard to put it back on her. I couldn't sleep last night so it was an extra long day, when I got there I peeked in at the cats and thought one was missing but he likes burying under things and I saw an ear sticking out. The clinic deals with a lot of community cats, you get there and all the cars line up and the intake crew comes out and gets info and take the kittens in at 7:15 then at 4PM it's the same thing with pick-up.
Amazon Prime- I ordered San Francisco Bay French Roast coffee beans as it's about Costco's price minus the $100 I spend on other stuff and I don't have to deal with crowds. I got 2 shade cloths for my yard too. Not sure how I'll put them up since the voles are making my t posts unstable. I wrote three of the kitten's bios last night and submitted their photos and bios, kind of sad about it but I know they'll be popular. Those three will go up for adoption on the website and I'll help them with potential adoptees at Petco next Saturday. The other two are still a bit shy and scared so the plan is I'll get more time to work on them. With the real outgoing enthusiastic one the small orange boy tends to hide so I'm hoping he'll come around.
@gemwolf110 Definitely stay out of the pool with lightning!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I think you made the right purchase great job making it something to improve your health and not hurt your wallet. It’s hard not to get caught up in the good prices but there’s how many Amazon Prime Days a year now? I don’t remember you having a night to yourself in quite awhile I hope you have fun stamping!
@DrewsAnna Do you usually get a lot on Prime Day? I’m trying to do comparison shopping before I buy and it’s helping, I’ve gone overboard more than one time with the sales. I’m excited to get my shade cloths at a great deal and the coffee I drink was on sale so that’s saving me from having to go to Costco.
@FushiaKat That box of mangos is the coolest gift! I know you love your fruit it was very thoughtful of your friend. Do you eat all your plums or do you make jelly or anything else with it? Woohoo glad you love your trike! I loved your response to the question that last sentence is how I feel right now though I’m on day 2 of being back on track. Glad you’re liking yourself!
@micaroo4 Oh my gosh glad you have the day off after all that nonsense with working around your computer. It’s horrible to lose a computer with all the links, passwords, websites, etc. Enjoy your day!
@bobboyardee Congratulations on Onederland!
@TeresaW2024 Thank you for kitten prayers, they’re home and doing well. Poor Maggie I wonder if you gave her a treat before helping Joe would help her from getting anxious? At class tonight the teacher was saying you can get a vagus nerve stimulator implant in dogs to relax them and it goes on 4xs a day, price is $6000 and up. A $2000 unit isn’t all that affordable either but I kept that to myself. I’d be happy to work on Maggie!
@trooworld Thank you the kittens did well, it was a super long day especially with class. I’m sorry the recipe wasn’t that great is it something you can tweak?
Hi gang! Kittens are back home. I have the girls in onesies in the bathroom, one of the boys tried to mount his sister so I separated them (poor girl is looking at me in this cute onesie like she didn’t have the energy to fight him). Doing good with food, I stopped for a shaken espresso at Starbucks that wasn’t too high of calories when I was early for picking the kittens up and that was good but not something I’ll have often. Class was good aside of the teacher I was the only one who’s used micro current on animals but it was a small group so I wasn’t too awkward. I’m wiped out I’ll talk to you all tomorrow, have a great Wednesday!

Hi gang!
I don't normally get excited about prime day, but there were some expensive things Rich wanted and I convinced him to wait until prime day - we got at least 25% off every item on his list. We didn't go crazy looking at deals and only purchased the items he was planning to buy. He's pretty happy. Christmas in July!
Well, I'm back to work today, so I'll be dealing with the computer. The accounting software still needs to be installed. Then I have to try to recreate the work I did last Wednesday, because the backup I restored from was Tuesday. And then catch up on everything that's fallen behind for being without a computer. I'll see how far I get.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - you are totally supposed to laugh at Gus in his ear cover. I laughed at Gus in his ear cover. What kind of watch did you get?
@Katmary71 - I'm glad the kittens are fixed and it went OK. I know you will miss them- it takes a special person to foster—→ You are a special person! It sounds like the mushrooms turned into a real pain- I think you want your hands in the dirt, not to be messing with instapots
@TeresaW2024 - did Maggie get scared when Joe fell? Just a thought
@micaroo4 - what a pain about the computer- wishing you the best on getting things fixed up

@TeresaW2024 Sorry about the gain and how Maggie is reacting to helping Joe . I wonder if CBD chews would help?
@micaroo4 That does sound like a stressful day . I'm sorry that happened. I hope on your next workday you can get things straightened out. Congrats on your Prime Day purchases!
@vegan4lyfe2012 I'm glad to hear this . I will be sure to watch it when it streams. That's great you ate so much protein. No wonder you woke up so full lol. I'm glad you will get a craft night. Congrats on your Prime Day score. Enjoy!
@FushiaKat How nice of your friend to send you a box of mangos . I'm glad you like your new Trike.
@Katmary71 I'm glad it went well . I bet you are glad the spays/neuters are over with. Now, for them to heal! Enjoy your coffee and I hope the shade cloths help. I don't think the recipe is something I can tweak, it just overall wasn't a good idea.
Hi all. Prime Day--- I'm broke right now so no shopping for me lol. I wish you shopping luck. I had a busy day at work. My knee is not getting better; in fact, the pain is starting to radiate down the side and back of my calf. I contacted our health & safety person at work since it happened at work. She's sending me to the doctor today. Hopefully I will get some answers. I didn't feel like cooking last night because of my knee, so I just had leftovers.

@micaroo4 Ughhh I’m sorry you lost your computer! What an ordeal to have to deal with. But of course, you didn’t let it derail your self-care, so good for you!! 😎
@DrewsAnna Yayyy for Prime Day! What are you buying? I have a great-niece turning 5 in a couple of weeks, so my cart is full of little girl stuff! 😀
@vegan4lyfe2012 HaHa I sometimes have Dave Ramsey in my head too ! I’ve been really working on avoiding frivolous or spontaneous spending, and it’s hard! 🤑
@Katmary71 I’m glad all went well with the kitties, and hopefully you will get a better night’s sleep tonight. So, are you sure you're not going to keep at least one of those sweet babies? I’m gonna pass on a vagus nerve stimulator for $6000! 😀 I posted a question to my dementia group, and I found out that stressed-out dogs are a thing. They know their owner is sick and they want to help. Last night, I told Maggie what we were going to do first and kept my voice calm and upbeat, which helped somewhat with her barking. I’m going to build on that and see if I can retrain her to stop freaking out. 🙁
@Cornanda Yes , I do think that after Joe’s last fall and my freak out, she was negatively affected. She's very smart and takes her job as Joe’s caregiver so seriously that it’s no surprise she's also feeling the stress of our lives. ☹️
@trooworld I’ve thought about looking into some CBD or other types of calming chews. She is so picky, so not sure she would even eat a chew without me mixing it with peanut butter, and I already do that with her joint chew. Such a weird little dog! 🙄Ugh, I am sorry about your knee! I hope you can get some help and that it will start feeling better soon.
Good morning! I’ve decided to skip my workout this morning, get ready, and take Joe up to the church, then head to Aldi before it gets too hot. He likes to sit in the car and people-watch with the air conditioning on. I have a Zoom meeting tonight that hopefully won’t take too long. The pastor wants to discuss the upcoming year and what we have going on. I’m thinking chicken quesadillas for dinner, served with low-carb tortillas. Should be easy and tasty!! 😀1 -
Good morning slims
We are here at Caprock Canyons State Park. We got here yesterday. This morning while reading post and catching up on what is happening in the group this is what is outside the RV.We don't have too much planned for today just ride around the park and check it out. I will catch up more later.

Great weigh-in! Keep up the great work this week! 🥳 @DrewsAnna
Just a smidge up! Adjust course as needed. You got this! @lislisa123
@littlebabekitty - I am so sorry about the rough week. I hope this week you feel better and can tackle the food/fitness plan again. You have made great progress since your SW. Hang in there!
@txcritter69 - I love your morning view!
@TeresaW2024 - It sounds like you were having a good day with Joe. Yay! Those enchiladas sound yummy and sound like they were on your plan!
@bobboyardee - Hurray for hitting Onederland! So inspiring!
@Cornanda - Gus in his ear cover was SO cute! I hope you are getting some answers re. your knee.
@Katmary71 - How old are those kittens?? I thought that cat weren't able to reproduce until 6-12 months, so maybe they are at 6 months already. Or maybe the one guy is precocious.
@micaroo4 - Congratulations on your smart shopping! I was paying no attention and had no idea about Prime Day. Ah, well.
@vegan4lyfe2012 - Hurray for that new smart watch and counting your steps!
Austin here. I am so missing getting to walk outside. We are having day after day of rain and thunderstorms in central Texas. I gave up and did an hour on the treadmill this morning, and will look at other ways to do more moving.
My eating has been odd for the last week, as I am working a dental problem. I saw the dentist yesterday, so things are improving but still sore.
1 -
@gemwolf110 – Papa Dave LOLs. Those rings look super high tech and cool. Too cool for me hahaha
@Katmary71 – I hope the kittens all heal up quickly and are able to find their forever homes. Enjoy your coffee! I don’t usually shop the Prime Days. I just know I needed a step tracker.
@littlebabekitty – Hang in there, friend!
@micaroo4 – I’m so glad you are loving your new trike!
@Cornanda – Gus was just too hilarious! I got a generic brand called Coucur. Never heard of it. It uses an app called GloryFit. It claims to have a regular price of $199.99, but I call BS cuz they were selling it for $28.49. It shows a lot of functions that I hope work – like heart rate, blood pressure, text and call notifications. But like I said, tho…as long as it counts my steps for me and reminds me to move, then I’ll be happy with it.
@trooworld – I am so sorry your knee is acting up. I hope the doctor can figure it out so it heals quickly.
@TeresaW2024 – Dave Ramsey is always in my head right when I want to purchase nail polish! Hahaha! I hope Maggie Mae responds well to your explaining things to her in a calm voice.
@txcritter69 – What fun! As usual, I’m jealous of people that go RV’ing and camping. I would be too scared to do it alone and I’m too old now to find a partner that would take over and just let me be present. That would be my ideal getaway.
@AustinRuadhain – Hope your dental issue gets figured out quickly.
NSV: I grilled 2 Field Roast sausages and a bell pepper and onion slices for my lunch. I was full after eating 1 sausage and the veggies, so I put the other sausage in the fridge. This is a big deal for me. Usually I’d eat it just because it’s on my plate. Yay me!
Well, y’all. I think I’m getting this step tracker just in time. I need the reminders. This past week I’ve woken up multiple times throughout the night to horrible foot and calf cramps. I did some googling and it looks like one of the causes could be not getting enough movement throughout the day. Another issue is not wearing proper footwear with arch support. I’ve been wearing my crappy (but fun colored) Temu shoes for about a week now. They are completely flat. Switching back to my tennies for a while. Yay! Amazon just pulled up and dropped off my watch! Gonna get it all set up. Wish me luck that I don’t get frustrated with setting it up. I’m notoriously bad about losing my temper with electronics.
Stay hydrated, my friends!

Ope…not the watch…it was UPS delivering tea for me to review. Still fun :)

@micaroo4 That’s wonderful what a great discount! It’s funny it’s so fun getting things at a bargain it’s hard not to to overdo it. I did the same as you two with my shade cloths, I was planning to buy them and figured I’d wait and got lucky. Hope things go well with that computer!
@Cornanda Thank you! The mushrooms did end up being a pain, we’ll brainstorm and figure out another way. What’s funny is I was thinking an extra hour or two a week wasn’t bad but every three weeks it’s about 40 hours of stuff so totally NOT what I thought!
@trooworld I’m very glad spay and neuters are over! The girls are way happier not being in the onesies either, I tried one more time last night and the boys jumped on their backs and wouldn’t let them move I couldn’t believe it, I scooped them up and put them back in the bathroom. They’d been meowing back and forth which is why I tried again but put in earplugs instead. Shoot I’m so sorry to hear about your knee, I’m glad you contacted the health and safety person. Let us know how it goes.
@TeresaW2024 Thank you! No not planning to keep a kitten but it’s tempting! I’ve thought of never answering the phone or door and keeping all of them but my cats would go nuts, they’re a little stressed as I let the kittens run around the house earlier. That’s fascinating about dogs trying to help their owners, they DO truly know when we aren’t feeling well. I love Maggie doing better with your tone of voice. Do you get nervous before helping him? With Asher if I come home and go up to him stressed he’ll run so I need to relax a bit first like take a few breaths and relax before touching him and then he’s fine. Joe could be nervous when you’re lifting him as well and she’s sensing it. I hope Aldi’s and church goes well, hope the Zoom and talk with pastor go well.
@txcritter69 That park looks beautiful, I hope you have a great time! Have fun exploring.
@AustinRuadhain They can’t procreate yet but after being neutered it’s not unusual for the boys to try to due to their hormones changing. The girls had onesies on too so it wasn’t an issue but they were still loopy and couldn’t fight back much or run with their outfits. Will tell more about that and that end. Oh my gosh I can’t believe the storms are still going that’s awful! Is there an end in sight? Great job getting your exercise in. Hope the tooth is feeling better soon.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Great job putting the sausage back, I tend to just eat it too so I get it! Have a great time getting that watch going! Ugh I get that about electronics too I try to tell myself it’s a fun challenge to conquer so I don’t instantly get frustrated. Heck the tea is a fun one too!
Hi gang! Kittens are doing well, they were meowing back and forth from their rooms across from one another last night so I tried again to let the girls in, I think the boys were weirdos about the onesies they were both instantly pinned down and couldn’t really fight back or run with the onesies, I couldn’t believe it! I scooped up the girls and just wore earplugs to bed so they could meow away. I woke up and was exhausted so I took the onesies off the girls and supervised them all in the same room and they were fine, no licking stitches or anything. Finished the adoption posts too. My nephews came by to pick up their cat Cali so I’m down to 7, lol! I let the kittens out of the room to explore and they had fun, Jasper’s a fan favorite and loves grooming them even the skittish ones. Asher's hissing at them still. I’m hoping to get the mushrooms done after dinner then get in some garden time. I made a delish smelling dinner, I sautéed chicken breast, zucchini, and summer squash and topped it all with cheese and the rest of an open Rao’s sauce with fresh herbs and it smells insanely good. Been back on track the last few days finally too thank goodness. Have a great Thursday!

@TeresaW2024 Ah yes , I know the joys of a picky dog (Daisy!)! I hope you figure something out. Thank you! I hope you were able to beat the heat. I hope your Zoom meeting didn't last too long. Chicken quesadillas sound good!
@txcritter69 Wow , cool! I hope you enjoy your camping trip. Thanks for sharing!
@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss !
@AustinRuadhain I hope it stops raining soon so you can get outside . Good job adjusting! I'm sorry about the dental problem.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you ! Great NSV! That's awesome that you didn't eat both sausages. Ugh I hate cramps in the middle of the night! I had been getting calf cramps but they stopped. I hope yours stop soon. I hope your watch gets delivered soon. Enjoy the tea!
@Katmary71 Aww , poor little girl kitties! Mean boys lol. Are they still meowing? Thank you, they used what I think is a microcurrent machine on my knee at PT (it had electrodes and shot pulses of electricity through my knee...is that a microcurrent machine?). Awww, sweet Jasper! That sounds like a really good dinner. Good for you for being back on track!
Hi all. I went to the doctor and they said I'm doing all the right things, although they recommended I try heat on my knee instead of ice. She also prescribed physical therapy and is going to take an X-ray next week. I was able to go to physical therapy in the afternoon. The PT said I need to work on my stability and strengthen my hip muscles so he gave me some exercises to do. I made this Sausage and White Bean Soup recipe from America's Test Kitchen. It was easy to make and delicious. It just needed a piece of crusty bread, which I did not have lol. I haven't been tracking for the past week. It's not that I have given up, just taking a break. I'll get back to it soon.

@Katmary71 – So glad to hear you’re back on track. And glad the kitties are on the mend. They are just so adorable!
@trooworld – I hope the PT works for your knee. Super sucks. Can I get your Sausage and White Bean soup recipe? I have 2 more Field Roast sausages to use soon. I’m cracking the whip on your tracking! Remember what @micaroo4 said – track every BLT!
My new watch has a lot of bells and whistles for being such a cheapie. Didn’t realize how big it would be, tho. I was able to set an inactivity reminder for every 30 minutes from 9am to 10pm. So far, the only downside is when I get into my car. The Bluetooth on my stereo used to automatically connect to my phone and start playing whatever I have open on Spotify. Looks like since the watch is connected first, my phone won’t connect automatically to the stereo. I had to disconnect the watch first, then connect the stereo. PITA, but still do-able.
It's amazing where our inspiration can come from. I went to the dentist yesterday for my regular cleaning. I’ve had the same Dental Hygienist for years. She was telling me about the person that brought ice cream in for everyone after lunch and how she knew she was full and shouldn’t eat it. So instead, she took some and put it in the freezer. She said she may or may not eat it later, depending on if she REALLY wanted it. She said the peer pressure from her coworkers was unhelpful, but she stayed strong. It Makes me want to lose weight before I see her again in January.
I have a lot of work to get done, so I better get busy. Eat your veggies and drink you water!
2025 is MY year!

WEIGH IN UPDATE
REMINDER TO WEIGH IN TOMORROW TO @Cornanda @davors19 @littlebabekitty @trooworld @trooworld @trooworld @vegan4lyfe20120 -
@trooworld The cats have been pretty mellow since surgery for the most part, now that they’re together they aren’t yelling back and forth. I know what you mean at PT, I’d guess it’s similar as far as PT. There’s TENS units which mostly just mask pain but these days they’ll have some other type of programs where it’s more like micro current where it can get inflammation down and treat pain. That’s awesome you got in so fast to PT! I hope the x-rays show you can improve it with PT and won’t need surgery. That recipe sounds awesome! Oh man yeah crusty bread would be great with that.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you! There’s something to be said for being able to talk to someone else trying to stay strong, I’m glad she inspired you to lose weight before you see her again. I’ve been eating my veggies I’m drowning in them!
Hi gang! I saw a challenge to eat the alphabet and showed a friend and we’re doing it, it’s harder than you’d think! The school the greenhouse is at was locked this morning so I went to the community garden to harvest and trim and came home to clean up the kitten room and do mushroom stuff then went back and was able to get in the greenhouse. I talked to a woman today who is interested in the calico kitten, her and her husband are going to come over tomorrow and meet her. I’m excited for her but sad it’s already time for them to leave. They have dogs and three kids and their last cat lived to 21, the woman has always had cats and misses it. She said she’d seen one she was interested in at the adoption event and made the mistake of thinking about it and when she went back the cat was being adopted so she jumped on this one. Gremma’s outgoing and friendly she sounds perfect for them. Off to water the rest of the yard have a great Friday!

@askewcr Congrats on the loss !
@vegan4lyfe2012 Thanks ! Absolutely, I will post it below this post. You will like it! You both are right! I can't help but wonder if my 2 ounce gain this week is due to not tracking! Also, I have drank a lot less water this past week. I am on it today. 😀 I am glad your new watch has a lot of features. I have a Samsung watch and it is big, I got used to it. That is a PITA about the car. Wow, that's impressive what the dental hygienist did. Let me know if you make the soup!
@Katmary71 Oh that's good they are mellow . I don't know which kind of machine PT has but it really helped my pain. I don't think I will need surgery, I am feeling a lot better already! The recipe is below. 😀 I can imagine that challenge would be VERY hard. Yes, it seems quick that the kittens are going already! I hope it works out with Gremma.
@Cornanda You keep going down , down, down! Congrats, you must feel awesome!
Hi all. My knee is feeling better, I think because they did a treatment where they shoot electricity through it, the electricity pulses. Also, they put heat on it. I made Skinnytaste's Cottage Cheese Cacio e Pepe for dinner but it didn't turn out well: the sauce separated and it was a clumpy mess in pools of water. I wouldn't make it again.

Here's the recipe for the soup I made the other night that turned out well.
Sausage and White Bean Soup (4 servings)
1 tablespoon
extra-virgin olive oil
1 pound
hot Italian sausage casings removed
1
onion chopped fine
3
garlic cloves sliced thin
1⁄4 teaspoon
red pepper flakes
4 cups
chicken broth
1 (15-ounce) can
cannellini beans rinsed
1 1⁄2 cups
canned crushed tomatoes
1⁄2 teaspoon
table salt
1⁄4 teaspoon
pepper
3 ounces
(3 cups) baby spinach
Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat until shimmering. Add sausage and cook, breaking up meat with wooden spoon, until no longer pink, about 4 minutes. Add onion, garlic, and pepper flakes and cook until onion is softened, 3 to 5 minutes.
Stir in broth, beans, tomatoes, salt, and pepper and bring to boil, scraping up any browned bits. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until flavors have melded, about 15 minutes.
Off heat, stir in spinach. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I love that you found inspiration with your dental hygienist. I’ve had to cancel my last two cleanings because of Joe, and I miss my dental hygienist, whom I’ve had since I moved here 20 years ago. 🙂
@Katmary71 I admire your resolve not to keep all those kitties! 😀I don’t get nervous helping Joe stand up, but Maggie seems to think it’s a major ordeal and needs to bark her head off. My calming voice is helping sometimes, but not nearly enough! 🙄 Eating the alphabet sounds fun and challenging. I hope Gremma will love her new family!
@trooworld I’m glad that you have an action plan to help your knee feel better. I’ve heard so much about the importance of having good hip muscles to support our knees and back. 😕
Good morning! I woke up early after not getting a good night’s sleep due to Joe and his many dreams. Sometimes he sleeps so still, and other nights it’s a full-blown party. So, I’m gonna be tired today! We have a church couple who are supposed to visit this afternoon. I’m torn between wanting to see them and not wanting to have to put on real clothes. 😀 OK, that is about it for me. I’m off to work out. Have a good day!2 -
