@littlebabekitty nice loss!
@trooworld So glad you’re feeling better! That’s awesome you responded so fast to the treatment! Oh no I’m sorry to hear about the skinnytaste recipe, that’s one I haven’t tried and won’t after your review. Thanks for the soup recipe!
@TeresaW2024 Shoot I’m sorry to hear about you and Joe having bad sleep. Sounds like you crushed your workout!
@micaroo4 I’m like Rich though if it’s for lunch I still like it. It’s in the 100s here today so no soup for dinner!
Hi friends! The meeting with the adopter and her two daughters went well, they’re going to take both girls. They have a male dog that marks a lot and they’re worried he’d be more likely to do it with male cats or Griege would be gone too. They’re going to all get micro chipped tomorrow and they’re going to meet me at Petco after the one daughter’s softball game. Great family I’m happy for all of them especially the kitties! Was at the farm and got mushroom stuff done (of course they’re doing great now!) and did the basil bundles for the produce boxes and farm stand. I have a lot to do in my garden but I’m worn out so probably won’t get far. Have a great Sat!

Hello slim friends! How is it that summer days just FLY!!??
I am sitting on a plane writing this so you don't think I have disappeared:).
It has been a full week, of puppies, dinner theatre and festivals. Every single night I plan to catch up here and then I don't. I am headed to BC for the weekend with my mom to visit my brother and his family. This is the first time we have flown out, it is a lovely treat. My mom is 97 and said the driving would be too much.
I am trying to stick with food sequencing and am probably successful about 50% of the time. When I am home it is easy, but not so much when I am out and about. I only went to the gym on Tuesday, the rest of the week was too crazy.
My son and daughter-in-law adopted a new cat♥️. She is just beautiful and so sweet, but not the biggest fan of dogs.
Vannie is staying with them this weekend so I went over there several evenings this week so we could do a slow introduction. Vannie was very good with her, but then she made a quick move the cat (Tav) got scared, hissed and batted at Vannie and now Vannie it's worried🥴. She didn't try to hurt her, she was just setting boundaries. I'm sure they will work it out😊.
@Katmary71 my typical WI is Sunday but we don't get back until Tuesday . I did weigh myself this morning so I could post that or wait until Wednesday. What would be best?
K folks, we landing soon. Hope everyone has a great weekend!! I will post this tonight when we settle in:)

[I "worked it" this past week with cardio and portion control… plus I fasted yesterday. Today, I get to practice "mindful eating" and exercise. Let's see, I bought some protein snacks and shakes, creatine and a "squat machine" ($150 on sale) during Amazon Prime. With my MS, I felt I needed the metal frame and seat as support, around me… 😐️]

@TeresaW2024 Thank you ! I never thought about my hip muscles until he brought it up. Now, I will work on them! I'm sorry about your sleep and Joe's dreams. I hope you aren't too tired today.
@davors19 @littlebabekitty @alimalli86 Congrats on the losses !
@micaroo4 I am not one of those "soup season" type of people, although I understand it. I LOVE soup! This soup is a pretty easy recipe.
@Katmary71 Thanks , not out of the water yet, but the knee is feeling a bit better! You are welcome! That's great that the adopter meeting went well. I hope the kitties enjoy their new life! Have a great Saturday.
@laurelfit57 That sounds like a fun week . I'm glad you are flying there. Congrats to your son and his wife on the new kitty. Poor Vannie, she's such a good girl. Pretty kitty!
@baodell17724 Awesome job ! What you are doing is working! I hope the new squat machine works out for you.
Hi all. After working all day yesterday from home, my husband and I went to the gym for a short workout (40 mins) and then hurried over to one of the local parks for a free concert in the park. We brought snacks (mini charcuterie trays, sugar-free candy, and pretzels along with non-alcoholic beers and iced espressos) and enjoyed it. I'm going to try to talk him into seeing Inside Out 2 at the free summer movies in the park tonight in one of the local parks. This morning, we are going to the gym and then I have an appointment to get my hair cut. I think I am going to go dramatic and get a whole different haircut. I said I wasn't going to buy anything for prime day but I did end up buying a few things: a gallon of castile soap (I make our own floor wash with essential oils), two pairs of workout leggings, and a collapsible wagon to take to parks etc. that was a good deal. One of the pairs of leggings are sassy: they are leopard print!

Good morning Slimpossibles!
I have neglected to post an Ice Breaker Question. I think of questions from time to time, but then when I come online to post, they have gone "poof" right out of my head. So, I'm posting one now, before I forget again!
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If you were a literary character, who would you be? I would be Thursday Next.
This CGM that I'm wearing is great motivation. Tracking and monitoring my daily weight has been my standard program for maintenance. Adding the feedback from the CGM results in better food choices and fewer cravings. If I'm feeling hungry, I check my blood sugar before deciding whether or not to eat, and what. Every snack choice has me thinking "what is this going to do to my blood sugar", rather than "will this exceed my calories for the day". Eating more slowly has been a goal of mine for years, and now I'm finally doing it - motivated to not cause a spike. I'm starting every meal with a non-starchy vegetable (to tame the spikes) which is resulting in consuming more greens. I'm choosing more protein over carbohydrates. The best part is that these behaviors to tame the blood sugar spikes has made cravings for sweets all but disappear. I've only been out of my glucose range (over 140) for 20 minutes all week. Next week, I'll try to stay under 130.
I keep wondering 🤔 what if tighter glucose control is the key to everything? Better sleep, definitely. Reduced cravings, also true. Weight management? Seems like it. I'm still tracking food, but it appears that staying in my glucose range will automatically keep me in my calories range as well. The CGM costs me $90 per month, but it feels so worth it! Insurance companies should be covering these devices for free; they would have healthier patients and reduce their overall costs. Doctors should be handing them out like lollipops 🍭! IMHO

@Katmary71 I’m glad that two of the girls have found a good home to go to! I had to laugh that, of course, the mushrooms are doing great now. Isn’t that the way of things! 😀
@laurelfit57 What a beautiful kitty, and I hope she and Vannie will be nice to each other while you are going. Have a good visit with your family. I agree that a 97-year-old deserves a flight instead of a long car ride. 🙂
@trooworld The free concert in the park sounds like so much fun! I want to see your dramatic new haircut! 😎
@micaroo4 CGMs should be free to anyone who needs them. If I had real insurance, I would get one! I’m glad you are learning so much from yours. You might enjoy looking up Marty Kendall and his Optimizing Nutrition website. It’s where I learned how important glucose is to our weight management. I need to get back to his advice and yours! 🙂
Good morning! We had a better night’s sleep, so hopefully today will be better. Joe and I had an interesting conversation last night. He was very agitated when we went to bed, and his aphasia was terrible, but I did finally manage to figure out that he was upset with me. He said that he wanted his Pita back, which has been his nickname for me since the first day we met. It was painful because I know how much being his caregiver has changed me, but I didn’t realize how aware he is of the changes. I’m using it as a wake-up call to try to be better. It’s easy to forget that my Joe is still present despite his poor, demented mind and failing body. 😢 OK, I'm off to work out and try to have a good and pleasant day.2 -

@micaroo4 i agree the CGMs should be free for those who need them. They aren’t cheap my diabetic bichon was wearing one for the first few months. They were expensive! 80/90 bucks for one and wouldn’t always get the full 2 weeks (it kept falling off when her fur grew). I have 2 leftover from replacements that I’m like keeping for an emergency or if I take her with me traveling or if she boards at the vets again. Tempted to use one for myself just to see.

Hi 👋
I haven't posted in awhile, life has been kinda busy lately. Between PT, hubby's monthly retirement breakfast and just life in general.
I don't usually go to the breakfast, but Chris really wanted me to go. I did really good, I ate half my food and brought the rest home. Hubby ate it the next day. I was proud of myself for not shoveling the food down.
Today is hubby's annual IBEW picnic and there's always a lot of yummy food there, I'm going to try and be good.
My knee has been hurting extra, but I've also been moving around a lot more.
I want to cry, my beautiful Monstera hasn't perked up. She is so sad, Im going to have to cut her down and root her and start over. I'm so upset about this. My beautiful baby.
Prime day is over, I got mostly stuff for my plants, Chipper got a couple "puncture proof" soccer balls. He loves them. Hubby got some stuff that he will install and then I have to set them up. 😒 I have a little bit better understanding of electronics than he does. I looked at trikes, but decided against it because I don't have anywhere to ride it. I also looked at recumbent bikes, but nothing really caught my eye.
Y'all have a great day 😀

Hi gang! Will catch up more tomorrow. The adoptions went so well all my fosters are gone! The three boys were adopted right at the start where I went home to rest after until the girl's family came (scheduled at the end) and I cried my eyes out on the way home! Happy for all: two girls are together, two boys are together, and the one going alone will be with two older cats with a family who got a huge kick out of the quirkiness I shared about him. I can't imagine NOT getting attached to them so guess I'll just be an emotional mess on adoption days. I stopped on the way for a coffee at Starbucks and it was knocked over by someone so even though it was a good choice for there I didn't get to drink much. Was tempted for ice cream but had watermelon instead. Looking forward to sleeping in then getting in some garden time it's a mess in my yard right now!

@TeresaW2024 - My Dad doesn't like hearing this, and you probably won't either. Unless you have some help with the care giving- it erodes your role as a spouse. Having breaks helps you recharge your batteries so you can keep going. It frees up some time for you to just BE with your spouse without having tasks that need to be done. Something to think about as you make plans for the future. My Dad does have some help- but not enough. It has affected his health, he has given up most of the activities that he enjoys, he leaves Mom alone- which he should not do. He is not open to making changes at this time. I'm not saying this to make you feel bad- there's nothing for you to feel bad about as you are doing SO MUCH for Joe. It is very hard to accept help and there can be a lot of guilt that goes with that. However, it's easy to ignore the other side of that issue….. and that can lead to burnout and other consequences. BIG HUGS to you
@micaroo4 - Interesting on the glucose control. You are very dedicated to all things health and that is definitely in your favor. My sister is an overweight type 2 diabetic on insulin and she drinks coke. She would never do any of the things that you do for yourself. She has a CGM
@trooworld - we must see your haircut and bonus points if you are wearing the leopard leggings when you take the photo
@DrewsAnna - :( on your lovely plant. Hugs!
@Katmary71 - Gosh it seems like you just got those kittens and now they are gone. And all in one day- ouch! Hugs to you…. What a big heart you have to have given them such a great start.
Just a quiet Sunday here. I'm getting my hair trimmed and will do a little shopping on my own. Gus is also getting a haircut- right now he has 3 tiny legs (trimmed) and 1 I didn't get to yet.

@TeresaW2024 It was fun . Ugh, I don't know about the hair lol but I'll show you! That must be very confusing for both you and Joe to have that duality in his mind. I hope you had a good workout.
@digger61 Congrats on the loss !
@Katmary71 Oh my ! I can't believe they are all gone! Awww. That's good they won't be alone. That sucks about your coffee. Good choice to have watermelon instead of ice cream.
@Cornanda LOL ! I took a photo of my hair right after getting it cut so no leggings! Good luck with Gus's 4th leg lol.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If you were a literary character, who would you be? Hmmmm...hard to say. I read a lot of stuff with flawed characters so I wouldn't want to compare myself to any of those characters lol. I'd say Ramona Quimby from the Ramona the Pest books by Beverly Cleary. She's spirited, imaginative, and sometimes troublesome!
Hi all. I am not sure how I feel about my hair, it's not exactly what I asked for. I'll share a pic of what I wanted vs what I got. The good news is that it will grow out lol. I kind of like it, I think I need to play with it a bit. Anyway, we didn't go to the movie in the park last night. I met a friend for coffee/tea at about 3 pm and we talked until 6 pm. I made burgers with blue cheese on them for my husband and I and then we went to bed early. We are going to the gym this morning. I want to work on some crafts this afternoon.

Good morning,
Congrats to everyone that lost this week.We are pulling out today to head back to the house. It has been a very relaxing week. Looking ahead to what is waiting for me when I return home is wanting me to stay here even longer. I have been putting off some deep cleaning because I wanted to be outdoors with diesel, but it is getting really hot here. We will be spending time in the morning doing our walks but I will be hitting that deep clean when it is time to be in the house. I have lots of pics to weed through and will post a few more later this week.

Hi 👋
The picnic was fun yesterday. Very relaxing, hung out with a friend and their family. We hadn't seen the family in a long time, so it was nice to catch up.
We were a couple hours late (as we usually are) for almost everything lol... so they had ran out of some foods. I had some pulled pork, no bun, plain lettuce and a cookie. I drank a rootbeer. Lol… my favorite soda. Then I stuck to water. After we got home, we pretty much didn't do anything for the rest of the day.
I researched how to properly cut and propagate my Monstera, so I will try and hold back tears as I cut it down.
I wanted to go to an airshow today, but it is going to be way too hot and it will be even hotter at the little airport where the show will be at. So, we are not going. I wouldn't be able to handle the heat.
Y'all have a great day 😀

GO MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES WITH MOST POUNDS LOST AND 2ND PLACE FOR PERCENTAGE! @digger61 @baodell17724 @AUSTINRUADHAIN GREAT JOB LEADING THE PACK !
@sleepygirl79 Way to go on the regular use of the elliptical this week!
@DrewsAnna The picnic sounds lovely. Sounds like you did very well at the picnic as far as food goes. Oh my goodness hugs on the Monstera, wishing you luck! Is it not perking up from the repotting? Praying it goes well and she bounces back! It’s shocking to lose especially the older plants from doing something routine like transplanting, I wonder it Vit B1 could help? Great job on the breakfast and only having half of it!
@txcritter69 Looking forward to seeing the pics, safe travels home!
@trooworld You hair still looks real cute and I bet it feels good in summer. It could just be you need to play with it I kept going back and forth comparing and I think she has more hair (probably not naturally as you have a lot of hair too) and it’s straighter whereas yours has some curl to it. The piecey pieces by the ears aren’t there for yours. I had mine shortish for awhile and used a Sexy Hair texture wax spray, was just looking on Ulta and can’t find it since it was 20 years ago and has probably been renamed but something like that would help build it up and make it more piecey. I like Ramona Quimby good choice! Sounds like a blast with the friend for coffee/tea, serious catching up! Crush it at the gym and with crafts today! Concert in the park sounds fun you’re inspiring me to go to our next Summer Nights!
@Cornanda LOL thank you! Good luck with the trim for you and Gus.
@micaroo4 I wish the CGM were free through insurance, they were just becoming more popular when I was diagnosed with diabetes but not covered by most insurance. I’m sure I could’ve gotten one if I was still as bad as I was when first diagnosed but I’ve been in the normal range for awhile so it would have to be out-of-pocket. I think it does help a lot of health issues keeping it balanced and often times when you’re testing only twice a day you’re missing a lot. Sadly when our society profits off people being sick we won’t get something so helpful!
LITERARY CHARACTER Hm that’s a tough one I can think of a lot I admire! How about Jo from Little Women.
@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Oh my goodness huge hug to you about Joe’s wishing his Pita was back I know that must’ve been shocking to hear. Hope the workout helps you let off some stress. Sending lots of love your way.
Hi gang! Had a slow morning, I stayed in bed reading with my cats for awhile then worked out and got a bunch of laundry done and some cleaning. Made a dent in my garden I got all the melons, squash, and cucumbers finally clipped to the trellises and fertilized everything. I’m going to my neighbor’s for dinner in a bit and wanted to come on and catch up then next is an hour of reading, I’m on the latest Patterson Women’s Murder Club. Have to get the cans to the curb too. My next fosters I’ll be meeting and bringing home tomorrow afternoon, can’t recall what I said last night but it’s 10 kittens and two moms in a man’s bathroom who wants to help them but is overwhelmed as he has a few cats, is taking care of those, and feeding feral cats too. I’m planning to take 5-6. Random thought I wonder what my cats think of the 5 kittens disappearing, they must feel like they have to be on their best behavior or they’ll be gone too right? Dude do NOT hack a hairball on her bed right now or you’ll be gone too! Have a great Sun night and Monday.

We decided to try ice cream and see how we fare with the CGM readings. We walked home 20 minutes after each of us ate a kiddie size ice cream in a cup. One hour after the treat, Rich was at 167 and spike shooting straight up. He topped out at 180, and two hours after the treat, he's at 126. I'm not faring that well. My blood sugar rose more slowly. I capped at 155, but I'm still over 140. I guess ice cream is off the menu. Maybe on a rare occasion, with caution.

Congrats team for achieving 1st place by pounds! A shout-out to the leaders of the board, @digger61 @baodell17724 and @AustinRuadhain ! Way to go!
@txcritter69 I'm glad you had a relaxing week . Congrats on the loss!
@DrewsAnna I'm glad you had a good time .
@sleepygirl79 Congrats on the loss and your consistency .
@Katmary71 Thank you ! It is nice to have it off my neck. Yeah I think I want to grow those pieces by the ears out to match the picture. I was disappointed she cut those out of the final product. I got some stuff by Sebastian that is a texturizer I'll try. In the 80s/90s, I used Sebastian Molding Mud and that was pretty good to use and smelled fantastic! They don't make that anymore. Thank you! The concerts in the park are fun, I hope you go to some. It's good to have a slow morning sometimes. Sounds like it ended up being a busy day. Wow, that's a lot of kittens and cats that guy has right now! It's good you can take some away to help. LOL that would be great if it kept your cats on their best behavior!
@Cornanda Thanks ! I hope so. I wish it had turned out more like the picture. It feels good in the summer to have it off my neck. The Ramona books were my favorite!
Hello all. I had a busy day yesterday. I went to the gym in the morning and then I had to cram a bunch of errands into the day as I put them off to enjoy Saturday. I did enjoy taking a nap yesterday. I got up too early today: I woke up at 3:30, which is 30 minutes before the alarm goes off. I just got up. Last night, I made Honey Garlic Pork Loin for dinner with a copycat Olive Garden salad and croutons I made in the air fryer. It was a good dinner. I didn't end up making any crafts as the stuff I ordered from Amazon for the crafts didn't arrive on time (this has been happening a lot lately, late or lost deliveries! Ugh).
