@trooworld I'm relieved your knee is doing better! Your fourth sounds amazing what a fun day. Oh I think you need to find a good muhamarra recipe for us!

@TeresaW2024 I'm so sorry to hear about Joe's fall, the bed alarm is a great idea going forward. Huge hug I don't think there IS a way to never lose your temper especially when you get scared that badly, I'm glad you were both able to apologize to each other. Your bestie is definitely a keeper very sweet of her to want to help you. I'm glad you were able to assure Joe you weren't at risk for a flooding, smart thinking with the weather app!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Hope you have a wonderful time with your bestie!

@Cornanda Congratulations on 20lbs down! I agree with you I love the cleaning results just not doing it. I'm so glad Gus did well last night. Asher usually is under the bed shaking, last night he stayed in the center of my room, at one point I picked him up to put him on my bed but he was too panicky and ran away (don't normally pick them up). He calms down a lot with my micro current machine but think he was thinking he was going to the vet and freaked on me. The kittens did great, Jasper and my brother's cat Cali were nervous but fine. Gus looks like he didn't mind the shirt and ear cover from that photo,.

@AUstinRuadhain I'm glad to hear you're safe where you are, sending prayers to your neighbors! Oh those lemon onions sound delicious I'll have to try that!

@gemwolf110 I love the pup pics I forgot about all those beauties! Even with 8 cats in the house right now I'm sure you have more hair there than me!

@baodell17724 I've really enjoyed reading all the Tops and WW experiences as well, I tried WW a couple times as a teen but felt out of place.

@DrewsAnna I'm glad the fourth is over too I like the patriotic part but the late fireworks and bozo across the street setting off M80s I could do without. I hope the brush fire wasn't too bad. I'm always nervous about fires with the dried out greenbelt. Great job staying on track yesterday!

@micaroo4 The vibration plate should help with circulation, I always had a bit more feeling when I got off of it at the functional clinic. That feeling of being on the plate is what having CRPS in my spine feels like (I feel like I'm vibrating like that all the time at different degrees), I had to work on not having panic attacks on the plate as the stronger vibrating is associated in my mind with awful burning and crushing feelings everywhere. Anyhow I wrote up a page on it for the clinic self-care circuit, it's definitely better for lymph flow and I believe circulation, one of the questionable areas was if I should be doing it with new hardware and my back fusing in two locations so I chose to err on the side of caution and not risk it. It's one of the only things that I felt better using there as I'm sensitive to EMFs. I'd think if you had a bulge or herniation it could worsen too (the most studied area of possible issues was with osteoporosis in my research). The one at the clinic claimed it equaled to a full workout doing it in different positions but I can't confirm that and it was hard enough to tolerate standing normal no way was I going to plank on it a few months after back fusions, haha!

Hi gang! Wow 28 messages you all have been busy! Sorry for not posting yesterday, I'm having a heck of a time with the kittens getting out of the room so a woman from the rescue came and put in her pet door and damn if one of the kittens squeezed through the bars! I tried putting those plate storage racks in and this morning they'd broken a zip tie and I had to open it out and had 5 kittens to catch at 5:45 AM when I hadn't had coffee and can barely move. Later I was on the couch resting and two kittens go running through the kitchen, I have no clue how they got out! I cut those racks off and decided just to leave the door closed and leave the pet gate on though all the cats and kittens liked seeing each other through it. They're coming tomorrow to see if there's anything else we can try. They're all getting fixed Tuesday.

    Have a great Sunday gang!

    @digger61 @gemwolf110 Congrats on the losses !

@laurelfit57 Summer is definitely a busy time ! I hope you are having fun camping. I hope you can figure out the picture thing, I would miss your pictures (and I want to see Ty swimming!).

@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on the loss !

@TeresaW2024 Awww , poor sweet Joe! That is probably good (but hard) to read up on palliative and hospice care. How do you feel after reading that stuff? Are you okay? And it was sweet of your bestie to say that. I hope you take advantage of that.

@Katmary71 You are up early ! Actually, my knee bothered me yesterday and is bothering me this morning. Ugh. I'm still going to the gym! Here's my favorite recipe for muhamarra: https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/muhamarra/ Oh gosh, I bet it's nervewracking keeping track of the kittens! I hope they can get it figured out when they come.

Hi all. I ended up going for coffee to read in the morning by myself. I didn't stay too long because it got hot sitting in the sun. My DH and I went to an acquaintance's bookstore downtown. I wanted to show her the bookmarks I've been making and see if she wanted to carry them in her store. She wasn't there but I talked to her co-owner, who really liked them. He took a sample and took a picture of the group of them and is going to show my acquaintance them and they will decided. But he really liked them a lot. In order to meet their price point, I will have to take less than I wanted for them but last night, I found a way to make them cheaper usnig my Cricut machine. Also, if I don't put the charms on them, they will be cheaper. I thought of a few other places I could sell these bookmarks in town, so I may pursue those avenues. I don't want to sell online at Etsy or someplace else, as Etsy is oversaturated and hard to make any money on. When I met my friends for coffee, one of them wanted to order some for her book club, so I have to work on that. Here are the ones I showed the store yesterday (please excuse the label residue on the table; it's one of my craft tables)…

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

    Hi 👋

Yesterday turned in to quite the busy day. I got some plants repotted, I'm hoping hubby will help me get my Monstera planted, it doesn't like being outside in a bucket of water. It's so big, it's hard to do it by myself. Besides my plants, I don't really have much of anything going on.

One of my neighbors didn't realize that the 4th is over, so Chipper had a rough time. My poor puppy, if I would have known they were going to do fireworks, I would have given him some calming chews.

It's going to be a nice day, I'm hoping to have a good day.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

Not surprised with this. Has been a few salty snacks lately. Just got the new elliptical up last night and excited to try it. Also have had some nice evenings and foot is on the mend which means slightly longer walks.
Just got to get my butt back to tracking and I’ll be golden. Yay for summer!

@sleepygirl79 Woohoo I love your post and the excitement of new equipment and feeling on track, it inspired me reading it!

@DrewsAnna I want to see your huge monstera! Haha sounds like a pickup line doesn't it? Poor you and Chipper I hate seeing Asher terrified by fireworks I know it's upsetting. Hope this person is quieter tonight.

@trooworld How exciting about selling your bookmarks, I love them they're beautiful. That would be wonderful to have them in stores!

    Good day y'all
Congrats to @trooworld @vegan4lyfe2012 and @AustinRuadhain for making the Leaderboard.

It has been raining here now 4 days. We usually don't get this kind of rain this time of year. So yes our 4th of July was not so good here in Central Texas. The devastation is heartbreaking. We will hopefully see the end of it later this evening.

Because of all the rain this week did not go as planned and it is showing, still hanging in.
    Weigh In Sunday: July 6th

I am carrying the scale this time to make sure i stay in check.

We have canceled our camping trip to Mckinney Falls State Park and are going to head north to the panhandle to Caprock Canyons State Park (Tues thru Sun). Hopefully I will get in some really good hiking. We are still leaving tomorrow afternoon and driving for a few hours then staying overnight at a rest stop or Love's because it is a 6 hour drive (not pulling an RV). We are just going to do some sightseeing along the way.

Have a great week and I will try to check in during the week.

    Hi all,

I got overheated on my bike ride yesterday. Temps were in the 90s, but I was on a rail trail and there was shade and I thought I would be OK. I drank a bottle of water before I started, and I had 2 bottles with me for the ride. But 6 miles out, and I realized I was getting way over heated. The ride back to the car was difficult; I was exhausted, and out of water, when I finally got back. I'm very glad I'd had the A/C on my car fixed so I was able to cool off. I was feeling kind of "off" for the rest of the day, and I still feel that way this morning. Today is a workday. I've decided not to take the bicycle. It's going to be another hot one. I think I will forgo the lunchtime walk if it's in the 90s again.

Congrats to the whole team for 1st place by pounds and 2nd place by percentage! A special shout-out goes to @vegan4lyfe2012 and @AustinRuadhain for making it onto the leaderboard !

    @Cornanda Thank you !

@DrewsAnna I hate neighborhood fireworks . They set them off around here a few days before the 4th and a few days after. Poor Chipper.

@Katmary71 Thank you ! I hope all went well with the computer fixing and dinner was good. What did you make him?

@txcritter69 I saw the flood devastation on TV . What a tragedy. I hope it stops raining soon.

@micaroo4 Mica ! Oh gosh, how scary! I'm glad you are using caution. Take it easy today.

Hi all. In the morning, we went to the gym. Then, we went to my BIL's apartment yesterday to spend time with my MIL and SIL. My BIL has been in a skilled nursing facility for several years now, so he wasn't there. My SIL got BBQ and we brought a Caesar salad and a cake for dessert. But she had already been thoughtful and got a kale salad, so we brought the Caesar home. I took a small amount of most things. We watched "Sinners" which I liked a lot...it's a horror movie. Now, it's back to work.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes

@Katmary71 I can’t help but laugh as I picture you running around your house trying to scoop up those clever little escape artists! 😂 I hope you can come up with an idea on how to contain them. How long after they are fixed can they find their forever home?

@trooworld It's hard to read about end-of-life care, but it needs to be done. I think about Joe’s death all the time. I wish I didn’t, but it’s hard not to worry about what comes next in his care and then what will happen when he is no longer here. I hold onto my faith tightly, which brings me a great deal of peace. And on the days where I feel no peace, I cling to my faith anyway because for me, there is no other alternative. 😕 I LOVE your bookmarks!! And what a great idea to try to get bookstores to sell them. I hope it works out for you! 😀

@txcritter69, my heart is breaking for your state and all those people and precious children! I’m watching it right now on the news, and it’s so incredibly tragic. I’m glad you are OK, and I hope you will have a good trip and enjoy your hikes. 🙂

@micaroo4 Oh my, overheating sounds scary! I once got heat stroke, so I know how sick it can make you feel. You are wise not to take the Trike out in this heat. Take care of yourself! ❣️

Good morning! It’s going to be 95 degrees today, so I will NOT be leaving my house. 🥵 I will do a leg workout and some housework. I need to put together a menu for this week, which is such a pain. What do we want to eat is a constant question, and Joe, who doesn’t want to eat at all, is no help these days. I’m in a rut and need to figure out how to get out of it, so we're eating nutritious food that requires minimal effort. I could live on sandwiches, but that probably isn't the best idea. 😕 OK, Maggie is sitting at my feet, thinking it’s time for us all to get up and see what there is to bark about today. 🙄

    Hi 👋

My Monstera is planted and not looking so good. Im sure it'll look better here in a few days. It also looks quite a bit smaller but a little more fuller. It's going to be mid to upper 80's today, so I gave everything a good watering last night.

Haha, there was a humming bird sitting on top of one of my feeders, I tried to take a picture, but I wasn't quick enough. Lol… he was definitely claiming that one.

I did get a picture of a monarch butterfly on my geranium. It's not a good one, he's there....

I hope you can see him, he was trying to fly away, but I caught him.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@AustinRuadhain – I looked up those ankle edema exercises and they are the ones my PT already had me doing. I just didn’t know that’s what they were called.

@DrewsAnna – At least your WW friends ate someplace that had better offerings that McD’s! More below…

@Cornanda – Way to go! Your weight loss has been amazing! I’m so glad the Mayo diet is working for you! Poor Gus! I’m so sorry that I’m laughing at his ear coverings. Hope it helped.

    @davors19 – Nice loss!

@trooworld – Holy shiznitz! Look at you GO! Your bookmarks are so cute! I hope they decide to carry them in the bookstore. I enjoyed Sinners so much, I ended up watching it at the theater 3 times! I found the ending to be so very sad.

@gemwolf110 – The doggies are adorable! So much fluff!

@19shmoo69 – What an awesome camp experience for everyone!

@txcritter69 – Hope you have a fun trip!

@micaroo4 – Please be safe in the heat if you do decide to take a walk outside!

I’m a little late, but wanted to share my personal WW experience. I did WW by myself back in 2010-ish (no membership/no meetings). My friend had lost a lot of weight (about 50 pounds) and she gave me all her materials – weekly pamphlets, books, points slider, etc. She also created an Excel spreadsheet for me to track everything on. We worked together, so she was my daily cheerleader. I lost 60 pounds. Kept it off for about a year, but the stress of being a single parent of 3 with one of them being bipolar was too much for me and I gained it all back. Lost it all again when I went vegan in 2012. But gained again…lost a little…you know how the rest of my story goes. I tried the online version a couple years ago and it just didn’t work for me, either. I agree that they aren’t in the business to lose customers. The weight loss world is tough.

Anyway, had a great time at the fireworks (July 3rd). Oliver got really upset when they started. Poor sweetheart. Every time there was a loud bang, he’d bury his face in my neck and scream. But he kept turning around to watch. Finally, he was ok when I kept him perfectly still, facing up with his face next to me and I just said the oohs and aahs with each one. After walking back home, everyone cleared out except for Hunter. She was going to stay and watch Independence Day with me (my annual viewing). She got all emotional halfway through and said she missed the kids and felt like she should be home when they woke up the next morning. So at 2am, I took her home. I watched the last half of the movie the next day after getting some sleep.

Saturday was busy as I slept in until 9:30 and woke up to several missed calls and messages from Syd. She went to the ER due to a gall bladder attack. I kept Oliver for the day for her to get some rest. Then took Hunter and my mom that night to see Jurassic World. I enjoyed it for what it was – just a fun dino flick.

Sunday was church and grocery shopping. I made excellent choices, IMHO.

Tonight Hunter and I are going to see Bride Hard. I love Rebel Wilson. She cracks me up. Anyway, I already plan to leave my popcorn bucket at home. I am popcorned out. I hope everyone has a good evening!

@micaroo4 I made the same mistake a couple of weeks ago when my coworkers and I thought there was enough ocean breeze to go walking in 90 degree weather. Yeah will never do that again was fine for the first 0.5 mile to the beach but on the walk back when we turned into the parking lot it hit me. Got a bit dizzy/woozy. Made it back to ac and drank water, Gatorade, used my ice pack from my lunch to cool down. Wasn’t fun.

    WEIGH IN UPDATE
Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To
    @TeresaW2024 @FushiaKat

Mission Slimpossibles killed it on this last week, great job gang especially you top winners! Rocking the on time weigh ins too thank you thank you! And @AustinRuadhain you're welcome on the spreadsheet!

Kittens are getting spayed and neutered tomorrow, it's about 25 miles away and I'll be dropping them off at 7AM so I'll be leaving here before 6. Pickup is at 3:30 then I'll have a class tomorrow night I'm talking about how I've been using micro current with the kittens and Asher calming their fight-or-flight responses. Of course if the kittens aren't ok I won't go but the class is being taught because I asked for it and am speaking at it so I'll try to go for the first hour. I didn't bother saying anything about how the drive is hard it's going to be a long day! Planning to catch up tomorrow have a great Tuesday everyone and send prayers for Graison, Grogan, Gremma, GraciBlu, and Griege!

Oh at the farm today I was doing some mushroom stuff and one of the others who has been doing it said it's too time-consuming and he wants to take a step back and help on a lesser scale. We'd have to invest more money and time to make it work and none of us are enjoying it anymore so we're going to finish up this round and take a break. Sterlizing everything takes a good 30 hours a week of the instant pot going at 3 hours a shot and mine is malfunctioning now. I think for the volume we're doing having a mushroom bed at the farm would make more sense than having a ton of bags. We ended up planning to divide it 3 ways and the teacher gave us so much we're doing way more than we planned but the results aren't great and we haven't nailed down timing to have them ready on farmstand days. I had to throw away 7 bags that molded so I'm getting mad at all the time I'm wasting. I'm not willing to take up the slack from the other two and was hoping for less to do too so a break sounds like a good solution. I was feeling like I was letting everyone down if I said I didn't want to do it anymore. We're all wishing it was more something we did together than separately but one person's mom passed away in Britian so she's flying back and forth and we're all pretty busy. I'd rather just be at the farm right now. Felt good I think the one guy was ignoring me and I was kind of not feeling comfortable at the farm anymore and wondering if it was my time to move on but I'd rather take a step back from the mushrooming for a bit.

@TeresaW2024 I guess it is important to be realistic . I'm glad you have a sense of peace and that you have your faith to rely on. Thank you, I appreciate your support! 95! I don't blame you for not leaving the house. I hope you can figure something out for a meal plan.

@AustinRuadhain Congrats on the loss !

@DrewsAnna Cool pic ! I can see the butterfly.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you ! Yeah, I know what you mean about the ending. Interesting to hear your WW story. I'm glad you had a great time on the 4th. Poor Oliver! I'm glad he eventually liked it. I hope Sydney is okay. I love Rebel Wilson, too. A few years ago, I read her autobiography and enjoyed it quite a lot.

@bobboyardee WOW ! Awesome! What do you think is the thing that is helping you sustain this? Or, what was the "switch" in your head? Congrats!

@Katmary71 I hope the spay /neuters go well today. I hope the day isn't too grueling. The mushroom stuff does sound like a lot of work.

Hi all. I wanted to take care of some things yesterday afternoon, so I left work early. I got most of what I wanted to get done finished. I made a recipe called "Meat Lovers Pizza Quinoa Bake" which is a casserole made with quinoa that is pretty easy to make. It was okay. I don't know that I would make it again.

@Katmary71 I am sending up prayers for the kitties to have no issues with their spay and neuter. I’m also praying for you and the drive, and that you can attend your class. It is interesting that you are using the micro current on the kittens and Asher. I can see how mushroom growing is real commitment and how stressful it must be for everyone. I think taking a step back is a good idea. You love that farm, and hopefully, this will bring back the joy of working there. 🙂

Good morning! Not surprised I gained this week since I haven’t put forth much effort with my eating. I also did a heavy lower-body workout, which might not have been the best idea the day before the weigh-in. 🙄 Maggie Mae is driving me crazy lately! She has taken to barking her freaking head off every time I help Joe stand up. He can’t get up on his own, and I have to help him, and every time, Maggie loses her mind. I don’t know if she thinks I’m hurting him or if she thinks she is helping. She becomes so anxious, and I’m getting worried. I’m wondering if I should get her to calming meds…or ship her off to Katmary for a microcurrent treatment. 😉 Not much happening today other than some laundry. Have a good day! 🙂

My computer at work went kaput yesterday. I got some work done by working directly on the server, but it was a stressful and disorganized day. All my files are at my work station. The server room has no office tools like pens, pencils, stapler, tape, scissors- so I had to keep carrying everything back and forth. The new computer arrived around 1:30, and it was configured by 3:00. The accounting software still has to be installed. None of the data from my old computer can be retrieved. I restored from backup, but in Excel, where I use linked spreadsheets, none of the links are working; every spreadsheet will have to be fixed. And I lost all my customer and vendor saved websites, usernames and passwords, so I'm in a quagmire of password resets. It was not a good day. At least I ate on plan and got my workouts in.
Today I've got the day off. A handyman is coming to do some minor repairs.

@bobboyardee – 51 days! That is amazing! Awesome job on that and with the weight loss! Woot Woot – so exciting to be in Onederland!

@Katmary71 – Good luck with the kitties today! And what a snafu with the mushrooms. I don’t blame anyone for taking a break. That is way too much time and effort for little to no results.

@trooworld – Bride Hard was hilarious! Everyone in the theater was cracking up. I’m glad I went.

@micaroo4 – What a frustrating computer mess. I’m so sorry you have to deal with all the resets and excel links. I have several worksheets that have functions in them and I’d be screwed if those calculations disappeared. Ugh.

I went over calories yesterday, but it was all protein, so I must’ve really been craving it. My lunch yesterday was typical – quinoa, beans & veg. Dinner was Just Egg and Beyond breakfast sausages. Theater meal was the Beyond popcorn chicken (buffalo wing style). I woke up still full LOLs. Not stressing out about it, tho, since I was basically at maintenance calories. I’ll reign it in today. Planning on making stuffed peppers for dinner. I have no grands to babysit tonight and nothing else planned with anyone, so I will finally get an evening to stamp. I am so behind on cards that I’m just worrying about making belated Birthday cards for a few family members. I’ll hopefully knock those out tonight. I hope everyone has a fantastic day! Stay cool, my friends!

I really enjoyed the mixed box of Mango's my friend sent. Some were very delicious. I don't like mushy fruit, and I won't eat it. A couple arrived mushed. There are over 300 varieties of Mango's, I had no idea. We have 2 Plum Trees in the yard and the fruit is almost ripe, I found a ripe one the other day and it was very tasty. I should go and see if anymore are ripe today.

I love my new Trike, it's so comfortable and very stable to ride. I'm riding almost every day.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What does “balance” look like for you on your weight loss journey?

It means tracking every day, so I don't overdue my portions. I can't eyeball my food. It's so easy for me to get off track, I have to be disciplined enough to track every day. Also don't beat myself up if I miss a day. It means keeping the weight off and staying in my range. If I don't do that, I don't like myself very much, I feel like a failure.

As @DrewsAnna mentioned, it's Prime Day. I scored a generic smart watch so I can at least start tracking my steps again. Hoping it has a reminder function that will alert me at the top of the hour to get up off my butt and move around. I've been finding myself sitting at my desk for 2 straight hours before realizing I need to walk for a few. I wanted a FitBit, but Dave Ramsey popped into my head LOLs.
