I missed a LOT on my vacay. Or, dare I say, I missed a *kitten* ton. 🤣
I am currently in the airport regretting my decisions from last night. Luckily, I do not have a headache, but my stomach is very upset with me. This is in addition to my very swollen knee. I ran three legs of the Hood to Coast Relay, but realizing I should have possibly bowed out this year. My knee was healing, but now feels like I took 10 giant steps backwards because it's almost as swollen and unhappy as it was when I first injured it. Nothing to do at this point but continue to move forward.
The bingo game sounds fun, but I know I have too much on my plate. Especially since I start coaching soccer next week.

Thanks all, steps are all in! I have a fantasy football draft tonight, and I'll also issue the report then.
@micki48 I second what @lauren_989 said. I absolutely would not have it in me to teach. In awe of those who are such a great inspiration for the kids!
Ok, gotta get going to work. It was SUPER busy yesterday and today will be the same.

I was definitely expecting the scale to say that I gained weight, since my intake has started to pick up! I guess the universe had other plans for me (this week) 😅 Anyway…glad to be feeling better!

@mkksemail ah thank you for explaining that, I understand now 😄
@MaddawgMadsen oh no I'm sorry to hear about your knee. I hope you feel accomplished though!
@whitfcan glad to hear you're feeling better!
My Wednesday was OK, I did get a short walk on my lunch break. I would've liked to have been outside longer but I only had 15 minutes. Food intake was good, no complaints. I tried the challenge exercises but didn't last long, planks and arm circles are not part of my typical workout routine, perhaps I should add some in.
It's currently raining which is disappointing because I had hoped to get a walk in. I don't have proper gear to keep me dry enough for a walk in the rain. Maybe I should invest in some rain boots. Hopefully during my break or maybe after work I'll be able to take a walk, it's not supposed to rain here this afternoon.

08/28/25: +0.3 lbs | 200.7 Thu, Wk 4 Aug gosh darnit! I was 199.6 yesterday :P
08/21/25: -2.3 lbs | 200.4 Thu, Wk 3 Aug 🐢 ... working on re-centering myself, getting back on track. Not fully there yet, but on the path!
08/14/25: +1.1 lbs | 202.7 Thu, Wk 2 Aug oh gosh ... been resting for just over a week since getting home, and not making the best food choices. oof! again 🥴
08/07/25: +4.4 lbs | 201.6 Thu, Wk 1 Aug oof! 🥴 (knee injections finished 3 weeks ago on Monday! 1 week to go until peak effectiveness! Hopefully massive bump up is still from weekend adventure swolls, I def didn't eat enough to gain that ... I don't think ... also, legs (esp lower) covered in skeeter bites with sooo much itching, red welts, can't tell anymore if it's skeeter bites, or skeeter bites + rashing. Doing Zyrtec, Benedryl, Epsom salt baths, Tylenol ... )
07/31/25: +1.2 lbs | 197.2 Thu, Wk 5 Jul '25 wi Also had knee injections 4 weeks in a row, from Jun Wk 4, thru Jul Wk 4 (3 visco gel supp knee injections in ea knee, left knee started wk 1, thru wk 3, right knee started wk 2 thru wk 4). PLUS, Ren Faire weekends the last 2 weekends in July (& the 1st weekend in August), including one commute from home weekend (week 1), and two 4-day weekends Sat-Tue (weeks 2, Huttopia; week 3 The Shire Hobbit House). Lots of fair food/high sodium during all 3 weekends, plus KFC on 2 days (also high sodium!) between weekends 1 and 2 of the Ren Faire. Not a banner month, that's for sure... Should note, tho, that I did have a 'throat closing episode' at fair on Sat Jul 26 (weekend two of the Ren Faire), from about 30 min after arrival (eating 1st fair food), until about 30 min after leaving. We left early, at 4-ish, to head to Huttopia to relax, and for me to try to recover. ALSO should note! I had BIG weight swings this month, as much as +6.7 lbs 🥴 from high sodium foods consumed at Ren Faire (and KFC!):

a week or so later ... May '24: Came back to MFP at the beginning of May '24 (the 5th? not sure, that's the first day I logged food)

Hey, Jolene! haha, love the kitten! ;-) Oh gosh, sorry to hear about the knee. Hope the airplane ride didn't swell it more (it does that to me). Hey, no worries on Bingo! It's just for fun, for whoever might be interested :).
Ashley, I hope your FF draft went well! That's actually quite fun to do.
Vikki, I feel ya on not understanding scale feedback, sometimes. Hey, at least you held steady, right? :)
WTG on your weigh-ins, Kristi and Ash!
Jackie, wishing sunny skies for you :D.

@lauren_989 & @ashleycarole86 I love my job once I get back in the swing of things... but it's really hard to go back! I think it's because were all home together and we have so much fun. We definitely summer well at our house!
@mkksemail My husband is a 1st grade teacher. We work for a small school district so I serve all buildings. My hubby is at the elementary school that also has the preschool program. I'm there a lot so we have lunch together and go on walks on our break. It's so fun!

Does anyone else have a 3 day weekend? I am so looking forward to Monday off!
2 -
First, great loss @jguldi11 ! @Gidgitgoescrzy I totally understand the frustration of not seeing a move. A ways back(you were on the team), I got stuck at 196 for months. Not saying you will be stuck that long. Just understand. Now I wish I was stuck there. Ha!
Sorry to hear about your knee @MaddawgMadsen. Sounds painful but kudos to you for going for it. That takes drive and courage.
Boy there has been a LOT of food and eating at school this week. They have fed us breakfast and lunch all week and today dinner too! It’s been healthy, but not my usual salads. Plus I may or may not have had a few desserts. We’ll see tomorrow.
3 -
@lauren_989 We have a long weekend too! Excited to have a little more summer fun. I need to get some stuff picked in the garden! I need to get lettuce, zucchini, peppers, strawberries, cucumbers, onions and potatoes. Our apples, pears and grapes are getting close but could use a cold spell to help them sweeten up a bit.
Today I did a dinner to dinner 24 hour water fast. My goal is to do that once a week. I have one of my work days loaded with appointments. I think I will fast that day because I'll be distracted!
Love hearing about everyone's news! Especially @YinxFed and her sausage dog visit 🤣

Here's my little sausage dog! He's more like owning a baked potato. Loves to be warm and just lays around!

I do, I do , I get a 3 day weekend, and it's my birthday weekend, as an adult it's great having a birthday, that typically is always a holiday weekend, as a child it sucked, cause it was the weekend everyone had to get back on schedule for school, and I got school clothes as presents. haaa haa
I turn 54 this Sunday, I don't feel 54, I don't feel like I look 54, so I am okay with it.
@Conleywoods OMG he is a baked potato. So cute !
So for my birthday my husband bought me a sewing machine (it was by request), I got it last week and started playing with it, well it took me a good 2 hours to thread the stupid thing, do you know I had no idea in my 53 years, that sewing machines had thread in the top and the bottom part ! Anyway, I got all my sewing stuff last night (material, scissors, etc) so I my 1st project will be a bowl holders. I bought one at a fair a couple of years ago, and they are great because I often bring soup to work to eat, so no more burning my hands. I am planning to make them as Christmas gifts. We also make alot of stews and such to eat while watching football, so that will be nice if I can offer everybody one, instead of watching them burn their hands. They are going to all have bright orange thread though, because I am not changing that thread until it runs out.
We are going to visit my friends in DE this weekend just for Saturday though, we will come home on Sunday. I do think it is going to be way to cool to go to the pool, and it's the last weekend. I feel like I wasted so much money on that membership this year. We went a total of 2 times, the kitchen remodel just kept the weekends packed.
Okay so that is my update, I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful weekend !

@conleywoods your pup is adorable! And you are doing amazing with your weight loss!
@MaddawgMadsen how is your knee doing?
It has been a crazy few days here. Full days at work followed by work dinners until 9pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Then went out to dinner this evening with the inlaws. So ready for this 3 day weekend!

The September habit tracker is now posted! If you would like to jump in and set your September goals, here is the link!

Hi all
I'm Kath, 53 and from the UK.
Sugary foods have always been my downfall but I love exercise so I ate a lot and exercised a lot. Things were in balance. But slowly over the last 8 years the weight has been creeping up; a combination of perimenapuse and a few health issues that prevented me from doing as much exercise as I used to.
Then last October I had covid and the extreme fatigue never went away. What a journey - 8 months off work, lots of research into long covid/energy limiting conditions/MCAS and a lot of eating my emotions. No exercise to counter balance and I've gained 14kg!
But....
I'm making progress and I love a challenge, so I'm hoping that this will encourage me to stick to my plan and lose those extra kg by July (slowly and steady).

Wow there are lots of good weigh ins the last few days! Good job team.
@Gidgitgoescrzy Happy Birthday! Hopefully once the sewing machine was threaded it was smooth sailing. Try not to be too discouraged about the scale, maintaining is still great.
@stephanodda you can do this! It's great that you keep showing up.
Welcome @krea4 , you'll find lots of great encouragement and support here!
@cleaneater80 glad to hear you enjoyed your vacation, hoping your foot is better soon.
@lauren_989 enjoy the long weekend! You need the break with all the work youve been doing. I'll be spending Labor Day with my sister and BFF at our local Renaissance Festival. I'm so excited!
@Pearl4686 it is a lot of work moving. Packing, transporting, unpacking, sorting and deciding where things go, etc. When you finally get settled in it will feel so rewarding!
@micki48 thank you! A dessert every now and then is okay, I bet they were delicious!
@conleywoods what an adorable little baked potato!
@mkksemail great steps!
Whew I think I'm caught up haha. Thursday I didn't get much movement in after all, it rained all day and I ended up not feeling the best. Headache, bloating, etc. TOTM stuff. I declared it a rest day. I did stay on track with eating though. My son had preschool orientation and he was so excited to be there, so that was the highlight of that day.
Friday the kids and I joined my friend Sabrina and her new baby for a walk, we walked for over an hour and it was so beautiful outside and nice to catch up. Now that we're both moms it's hard to get together very often.
I made a chicken zucchini "fettuccine" alfredo recipe from my meal kit for dinner, it was really good. Next time I'll need more zucchini though, once the zoodles cook up there's not a lot there.
The weather today is going to be nice so I'll probably take the kids out for a while. Otherwise I'm not sure what the plan is. Probably some cleaning.

Hi Team! Welcome, @krea4 ! So nice to meet you :).
Just a quick note to say I'm here, I'm reading, I don't know why I haven't posted, but I don't want to let it get away from me, so HI !!
For our September 'sprint to the New Year' Bingo players, our September thread starts tomorrow :). Are you thinking about your list? grin It's a 3-day weekend here in the US, so I'll wait until Thursday to post our spreadsheet tracker. I was going to say Tues, b/c of the 3-day, then I thought a day of grace, then I thought, what the heck, Thursday is my weigh-in, so I'll post on that day :D. You can start working on your list tmo, ofc. Or wait until after the holidays, either is fine.
Happy Back to School y'all ! My Hogwarts team started a new 'term' on Monday, and my BLC team starts a new round on Wednesday, and my F2F team starts a new month tomorrow. New beginnings all around 🌅🌻🌞 Cheers ~ mk :)

I’ll take it. Staying the same is better than red. There was a lot of food involved this past week for back to school. Two days of parent conferences this coming week then the kids show up. I have a long first day on Thursday with after school duty.Happy birthday @Gidgitgoescrzy ! I remember when you were about to turn 50 How is time moving that fast? You had me laughing out loud with your bobbin comments! <Didn’t know the second thread existed, not changing it til it runs out>😂 I know there’s a lot on YouTube now to learn to sew 🧵 But check out your local school’s adult education They often teach sewing. Have fun and be sure to show us those bowl covers.
@conleywoods I love your little potato 🥔
Welcome @krea4 This team is wonderful support. Ask anything.
@jguldi11 Your dinner sounds delicious. Hope you got out for a walk today.
So we did lots of food related stuff today and now I’m relaxing before I get dinner started. I may have a glass of wine 🍷 We plan to have a fire in our yard tonight. Or at least I do.
Is anyone besides me having problems with the period on the keyboard working when you double space on MFP. Their app has more and more bugs. Need to go log my food and see where I am today.
MK - I need to get working on those 22 goals for my BINGO card.
TTYL 👋
