Reading all of your posts on what you like about Autumn has given me a new appreciation for the season! We have had a dry spell, lots of fog and chilly in the Puget Sound area. The sun came out today in the afternoon and made for a great walk, taking in the yellows and reds of the changing leaves backed by a deep blue sky.

Have not been moderating as much as I should but I am doing better in the exercise and calorie departments.

Talked with a financial advisor about our investments and got them moved into ones that seem to do better than the rate of inflation. So I guess its sit back and count the money!

Wednesday, ??? - I am meeting friends tomorrow after 15 years apart. They were stationed in Germany with us in 1998, crazy how fast time flies.

Thursday - Friday nights in Chicago for the Jewelry, Fashion and Accessory show, although I really have no $$$ for the extravaganza.

Sunday, my son's confirmation, 3 down and 1 to go.

You race them. They have strings set up vertically and you attach your worm and cheer it on while it may or may not climb up the string. I sound like a loony when I type it out but it really is fun

You can buy your caterpillar at the festival but this year I found mine at my parents house because we stopped there on the way up to the mountains.

    Monday - 0
Tuesday - 1 small glass of wine

Diana, you're mutt was a better choice than the pure-bred...wonder if you could give them a little sippy to rev them up.

Gary, nice that you can sit back and enjoy....I must work until my death

OK, meeting friends tonight and will try very, very hard not to drink because I have to get up at 4. II know I shouldn't drink because I will ruin a very busy day tomorrow - but, will I heed my own warning.

C'mon lushes - I need support here!! Let me hear your persuasive best!

I've been moderating..nothing exciting to report.
Kim..you'll be fine. I've definitely learned to moderate when I need to be productive the next day..I'm too old to function with a hangover like I used to in my 20's and 30's. :drinker: :drinker:

The weather has been cool and foggy. Everything is wet. Mushrooms popping up like crazy. Profile pic is of one I found on my walks today.

Sydney- we count on you for making OUR lives exciting. If there is nothing exciting to report please make something up. ie- fifty shades of grey.

Kim- remember you will LOVE yourself tomorrow if you behave tonight! :flowerforyou:

Monday - 2 glasses of pinot noir
    Tuesday - 0
Wednesday - had family pics taken. Our photographer/friend came over for Guiness beef stew after (it was delish). He jokingly said he liked oysters so we had 3 a piece on the halfshell before stew. We had gone to a park near our house for pictures, and Daphne was a little hungry and cold, so she did ok (although he said she did great for an almost 2 year old). Once we got back to the house and she was in her element, she started being super cute, so he grabbed his camera and we got some unexpected bonus shots that I think will be great. Anyways.....back to the drinking......the three of us split 2 bottles of red (a malbec and a blend of zin and 2 other grapes I can't remember), so I reckon I drank about 3 glasses of that and a 312 in the hot tub. I'm just a bit sleepy today, but feel fine.

Tonight, not sure what is in store. My husabnd is going to see Danzig! Should be funny. Typically I'd drink a bottle of wine and watch trash TV or a terrible Lifetime movie, so we'll see.

not sure about tonight either...we'll see how it goes.
Although I haven't drank the last two days I have eaten my weight in peanut butter......once I start its so hard to stop. All summer I refused to buy pb cause I know I have no willpower :blushing:

haha Gary. I hear ya..that's how I felt after last weekend and it's taken me all week to get back on track. Finally got in a good strength training session today and I feel 100x better.
Let's see if I can manage to not completely blow it tonight with drinks and bad food choices.

Drank a bottle of tempranillo last night. Then a couple tiny cocktails, but they were mostly pineapple vodka with a splash of OJ. So I guess 6 drinks. Could have used more sleep, but I needed a night alone with a coming of age movie and bottle of wine. Surprinsingly I wasn't super drunk despite the fact that my dinner was a very small bowl of beef stew, cheese and crackers and two sea salt caramels.....

I may go to book club for a bit tonight and then a friend is coming over whose in from Michigan. So more wine. Tomorrow is our helicopter date night. More booze!

    Happy Friday!

Last night.....1 shot of apple pie vodka, THEN two apple pie vodkas and cranberry. Quite delicious!!!

I have been a slug all week, only exercise was 30mins of yoga on wednesday. I have my gym bag packed for after work....but of course I forget my music and knee brace so I have to stop home first, BOO, lets hope I get back out of the house and don't make any excuses...that's my gig this week. Oh and I have been eating lots...like 200-300over cals everyday YET the scale dropped again this week....I swear I will never understand how my body works, but I'll take it!

Tomorrow morning we are heading down to balitmore to stay at a friends house for the weekend. We are seeing PJ again sunday night WOOHOO!!!! There will be lots and lots and lots of drinking this weekend......breakfast cocktails, day drinking and evening partying!!! Very much looking forward to it!!!

    Have ag reat weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I have been moderating one day, abstaining the next and losing all the battles the day after that. I am just plodding along and not doing everything I said I was going to do. oh well

You all have so much fun. You get out and do things. I am not doing much right now that is for sure. I really need to motivate myself.

Doug is trying to cut way back on what he is drinking and he is doing good. so I really have been bad except for celebrating a work victory with a whole bottle of white followed by some vodka. (Not a good combination for me)

Have a great day my dear lushes. When I get a chance I have a great pic of Olivia to post.

Better..The last time I was in a helicopter was in Hawaii and I was hung over...and it was not as fun as it should have been...the pilot kept diving into these valleys to get close to the waterfalls, etc. It was gorgeous...but I highly recommend that you are NOT hungover when you go! :noway:
    Katie...your weekend sounds great...as always!

I wonder how Kat is doing...her fav holiday is almost here.
Robin..you'll find your groove. You'd think it would help if our husband doesnt drink...but I find that just makes them better designated drivers
Its finally fall like here....dark and chilly out. I'm going thru the red wine and trying to avoid the Halloween candy that I bought way too early.

    TGIF my lushes :drinker: :drinker:

Robin- You are doing great! Remember how things were just a few months ago? Just keep at it and let us carry some of your burdens! (We listen well here)

I did good on the exercise and calories yesterday. If today goes as well I will replace the "large man on the beach" pic with something more appealing to the eye.

Syd- I too wonder what Kat is up to--- she was going to a Halloween party in a shark costume if I remember correctly.

    Have a great weekend all!

kblue- I hear ya on being a slug. I honestly think its in our dna to slow down and gather some fat for the coming winter. It is hard to go against that and stay active when the days are getting shorter and colder. But we support each other and that keeps my motivation up!

Well hello my lovelies. For those wondering I have been very well  We had our annual Halloween party last weekend where indeed I was being eaten by a shark. It was a fantastic costume in which my best friend helped put blood on me and the shark making it even more awesome. Sadly we did not get pics of any of our costumes :ohwell: Also my skin was sort of repelling the fake blood so my friend kept saying it was because I drink so much water that my body refuses to absorb any more liquid haha. Despite some very stupid drama it was a fun party. It would have been a great weekend too if there hadn't been stupid drama that at one point had me so upset I was on the verge of tears and couldn't stop shaking. Husband got pissed at that point and said he would handle things. Crap has still not been sorted out because the person who started it all is a 30 something year old man child :grumble:

Anyway, I have been watching Halloween movies and wearing all my Halloween garb. Complete with a huge black spider ring  I received my Halloween pregnancy shirts which are pretty fantastic. I'm wearing one right now in fact, it's a white shirt with a big ol' Jack Skelington face on the belly =} I'm going to miss our Halloween decorations and the house always seems so very empty once they're down but I guess I have Christmas decor to look forward to in about a month or so.

Today was one of the maybe two or three times I actually wanted to be able to have booze. They had Goose Island Bourbon County at the burger place we frequent :ohwell: husband had a glass and I sat by jealous as all get out. We came home and I've got laundry going, swiffered the floors and mopped them as well as cleaned up the kitchen and I'm about to vacuum the upstairs. For Sunday being the day of rest I sure get a lot done

For those "moderating" on the exercise front I have your backs  I've been keeping up with my Monday-Friday hour on my stationary bike.

And now, I'll switch the laundry, vacuum and then have some of my non-alcoholic champagne with cranberry .... When I'm exhausted I can almost trick myself into thinking I have a buzz haha.

I hope you all have been enjoying October and Fall as much as I have and only about 5 more months until I can start swapping lushy stories with all you loves again  I know once I'm huge this pregnancy will slow down but so far it's sort of flying by, though I sort of expected that since no matter the circumstances the holidays fly by :frown: In any event I am thoroughly enjoying the start the holidays and intend on continuing that trend!

Have a wonderful football Sunday all and make sure you lush it up for me!! :drinker:

Fun but busy weekend. Friday night we had friends in town who did not show up till 9pm. So naturally we were up till about 2am. We drank 4 bottles of wine, and one girl was not drinking and our other friend didn't drink like us. I probably drank the most considering I wasn't partaking in other party festivities. On top of this cold turned quasi sinus infection, I woked up feeling like I'd been run over by a truck Saturday morning. Luckily Eric let me sleep in till about 8:30 but I was rough. I tried to nap during nap time Saturday, but everytime I'd fall asleep, I'd close my mouth and wake up becuase I couldn't breath..... I was pretty useless most of the day, but we did have lunch with some freinds and did our helicopter ride, which was a lot of fun. (Luckily I wasn't hungover....). Since we'd had a late lunch so dinner wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been. Great food, we just weren't hungry. Despite having a sitter, we were home by 9:30 and in bed by about 10.

    I'd guess:
Friday - 2 bottles of red
Saturday - 2 beers at lunch, a cocktail prior to dinner, glass of red with dinner, small glass of wine after with dessert
    Sunday - 0

Probably another 0 tonight unless I feel like having a beer. I may stay dry till Wednesday. I really need to get over this sickness and good sleep is what I need I think. Have a great week!

I'm back from Chicago and back to reality. The Jewelry, Fashion and Accessory show was fun and hanging with my girls was the bomb. If you ever have to fly never, ever, ever fly SPIRIT airlines.

I have to put my Shelby-girl down tomorrow and it's going to be a sad day for the family here. Her quality of life is dwindling quickly. Tomorrow, she will have some time outside sniffing blades of grass and a some lamb chops. Then, somehow, switch gears and have a somewhat decent Halloween for the kids.

    Monday, 0
    Tuesday, 0
    Wednesday, 0
    Thursday, BEERS - 6'ish
    Friday, 0
    Saturday, BOWLING & DRINKS - 6'ish
    Sunday, 0

Aiming for a moderate number this week.

 so sorry, it doesn't mean if it's the first or the 10th, it is never easy. I'm glad you're not letting the sweet girl suffer though. I was just talking to my mom and gram about this subject and I believe it was my mom who said she knew of someone who wouldn't put their fur babe to sleep despite the poor things suffering because she said she would be lonely. My fur babes are my life but if they were suffering I would not hesitate to give them some peace  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers :flowerforyou:

Yes, so sorry Kim. We had to do that about a year and a half ago and that hardest part was determining not if, but when. It was incredibly sad, but we knew our sweet Syd had been suffereing and was in a better place. Hugs to you.

Kim- So sorry about your Shelby-girl. Our pets give us so much. It's always sad to let them go.

Kat- It was good to hear all that has gone on in your life. We were SOOOO looking forward to a picture of your shark costume...

Better_balanc- never done a helicopter ride, it must have been fun!

Had a decent week but was a bad boy on Sunday. 900 booze calories- they were over five hours so I wasn't trashed.

Since I blew it yesterday I shall keep the profile pic for awhile to remind me what this is all about.

    Have a great week all!

She must have hopped on the bus with Eddie.

Another 0 last night. I'm still playing catch up on sleep from the weekend so have been sleeping like a rock. I have my pilates-ish class after work. Otherwise I'd grab a bottle of red to go with leftover chili. I may have a beer or two tonight since it is my day off tomorrow....and I've been good since Saturday.....Or I may get that bottle after all.....It's chili and gloomy and it makes me want to snuggle on the couch and drink red wine....

HERE I AM, HERE I AM......prefer to be off with Eddie but alas I am back at work!!!!
Seriously I love PJ, they are amazing musicians and performers...another amazing show!!!
We had a great weekend all around. So nice to catch up with old friends. Baltimore is such a nice area too. We walked to a comedy/magic show saturday night and were able to walk home from the concert sunday. Our friends have a 5 story townhome with a roof top deck....you can see downtown and the habour...we spent so much time up there, PLUS I got lots of exercise going up and down all weekend
Ate lots and drank even more over the weekend....don't feel too horrible though. We got home yesterday around 1ish and bottled 1/2 of our stout, the other 1/2 is aging with bourbon cubes. Had 2 beers and about 4oz of wine. It was a great day AND I managed to avoid being at work for the worst day of the week....of course this morning started off alittle rough, but all has seemed to calm down for now.

    Back to it
