Celebrations of feasting this month. Have a great time lushes!

Last night I ended up drinking wine. It actually made the ritual even better. It was a great night.

    What happened to early fall?!

I had 2 glasses of wine last night. Holy *kitten*. That's it? I even put the last of my glass in the fridge because I couldn't finish it! I ate so much crap yesterday I was so icky and full.

We've got friends coming in from out of town for Cold War Kids concert tonight. I'm staying home and watching my kid and another friend's kid. But I reckon when Eric and out of town friends come home, there'll be hot tubbing or something. Saturday afternoon we're headed to Lexington to watch the Cats play football and meet a bunch of college friends and tailgate. Sunday all I have planned is to go to Kohl's to use my $30 Kohl's cash. I reckon I'll drink too much Saturday as I typically do at the tailgate/smuggled in booze at the game. (SEC needs to get with the program and go wet! No beer sales at games = boo).

    Have a great weekend lushes!

November 1st...can it really be true?! Seems like just yesterday we were starting 2013, and now 2014 is right around the corner!! Time flies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween! I went to the Y after work (and it was wonderful, NO ONE was there!), then I went to my friend's house & got to share in the candy her adorable boys had collected. And I was 2 lbs lighter this morning! Success!

Tonight is my hubby's night off, so we'll probably go to our fave pizzeria & brewery once I get off work...then tomorrow he is off as well, so we'll spend the day watching college football & I'll make dinner at home. Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!!:drinker:

I am thankful Halloween is over and the husband took all the candy to work.

I'm not a fan of Thanksgiving food *ducks for cover* but its 27 days til the son comes home in case any of you were wondering. I'll try not to make you all crazy with my countdown/excitement.

I'm not really a fan of Thanksgiving OR Christmas. They really stress me out & I get anxious about whether or not people will like what I get them, and blah blah blah. My Mom LOVED Thanksgiving and Christmas, she passed away when I was 14 and since then I haven't really enjoyed holidays. They kind of give me the blues.

I'm trying to change that though because my husband's family loves the holidays & they are so family oriented. I just get sad. Oh well, I just drink more....LOL! I don't know if that is a good or bad thing!

Can I just echo the sentiments of SoCal and bgrune? The stresses of these holidays make me want to take a long vacation- anywhere without the "holiday cheer".

It is getting better now that I am an old coot. When I was younger it just seemed like I was always trying to live up to everyone else's expectations. Now, I don't and that helps out a lot. Wish I could have figured that out sooner in life.

    gobble, gobble ho-ho-ho

Hence the reason I will be in the Carribean during Christmas.

You're all depressing me :frown: which I don't need help with the day after Halloween.

I have enough holiday spirit for all of my lushes, myself and anyone else who doesn't so much like the holidays!

November is a busy month, Sunday is my mom's birthday, the 11th is my Gram's 90th birthday and then we have 2 Thanksgivings. I love it!

I lost my Gramp who was the only dad I ever knew when I was a sophomore in high school. The Fall was one of my favorite times with him because he would rake up all the leaves in the yard into a HUGE pile and I would jump in them and then help him take them up into the woods  I miss him terribly especially now that I'm expecting a little one but I don't get sad anymore, I know he wouldn't want me to. I think of all the absolutely amazing memories I have with him including one famous picture of him at Christmas where he put a bow on his head haha, he was always the joker and life of the party despite being a very quiet man. I adore Thanksgiving and am lucky enough to get 2 in one week... I can't wait for all the delicious food!!!!! I never much cared if people liked what I got them or not, sure I love buying people things and put thought into it but if they don't like it then they don't like it, I sure won't lose any sleep haha. I just love all the family get togethers  Not to mention the music and decorations =} Oh and the eggnog!!!!

I've taken all the Halloween decor down, the house seems to empty now and I don't have my guard zombie in the entry way now :ohwell: But right after Thanksgiving the Christmas stuff will go up and that has me quite excited this year

Now it's time to finish putting the decorations away and then relax until husband gets home, I'm already pooped so I'm foregoing a work out. All the up and down the stairs to put the decorations away is a work out enough.

Since no one seems thrilled about November I'll stick with Happy Friday all!!!!!!

the Carribean sounds amazing! I'm jealous!

Actually I don't mind the hoidays..I just don't care for Thanksgiving food. We go to my brother's house so I don't have to cook but I will drink my fair share of wine. Turkey and dressing is ucky tho :ohwell:

Christmas I host and love...I've taken over all my mom's ornaments/decorations and traditions (tamales on Christmas Eve being the biggest). While I miss my parents so much..it makes me feel good to know I've continued on in their name. Everyone comes to our house and now that the kids are older there isnt a lot of frantic gift giving...they pretty much just want cash/gift cards. Plus the son is home for several weeks which makes it great.

so I'm looking forward to it all!

right now it's 81 degrees here tho...so it still feels like summer. :drinker:

I'm sure I eat enough turkey, stuffing and everything for those who don't like it haha. I would have been quite upset if I had grown some sort of aversion to it because of baby but luckily I haven't gotten any of that "ew can't stand that smell or taste" business. Baby has been absolutely wonderful to mommy

Your Christmas sounds wonderful!!! Christmas Eve we typically have our large dinner with husbands family. Christmas morningish we go to my Aunt and Unc's for my family Christmas meal and then Christmas night we go to the husbands best friends family's house for finger food and visiting. It's a busy day but I love it

81 degrees?! :noway: Think it's about 70 here today and only now is the sun coming out. It was windy and gloomy all morning but I love days like that... sometimes. I adore my cooler weather though because I have oh so many oversized comfy sweaters

:flowerforyou: I had promised myself to go alcohol-less in October and it didn't work. So, no more promises.

:flowerforyou: Robin, I love the picture of your grand daughters. ♥ You will be in the Caribbean at Xmas? How wonderful is that.

We had our Thanksgiving in October. I love turkey dinners, especially the stuffing and cranberry sauce. Yum. Our October was spectacular with lots of sunshine and dry weather. I joined jazzercise and just started yoga. Walking will be reduced going into the winter. I just know I won't want to do it in bad weather and the treadmill...well...you know. Notwithstanding the additional activities I have not lost a single ounce the last month. Bleh.

Nov 1 - 3 wine ( not exactly a great start to the month:noway: :noway: )

Siped on wine all day yesterday. While we lost power for about 3 hours Doug and I played backgammon and had a nice no tv down time.

The wee of Christmas we will be sailing around St Martin on a catamaran yacht. Its a time share swap for a cabin on the yacht that has a crew of 2 and three other couples on board. Should be a lot of fun.

Then we head to Vegas for a brief 2 day visit to Vegas to have some time with family. I have to see my grandbabies. At that family celebration we are having chinese take out. I don't want my daughter to stress at all.

I love holiday food and I have no off switch so it is best if I don't indulge too much.

Have a great Sunday my dear lushes.

Oh, I forgot about your catamaran yacht trip, robin. Sounds adventurous!

I had 0 yesterday but that makes up for the sh!tload of vodka I had friday. I was feeling pretty crappy but that extra hour sleep came in handy this morning. I feel great today..will get in a good workout before football and probably beer and wine later.

Hey lushes! I like the holidays pretty well. We have started new traditions now that we have a kiddo. We travel every Thanksgiving to NC instead of alternating holidays in Louisville and with my family (in laws are all here). We stop at my sisters (Chapel Hill) Wednesday, and her and I have started a tradition of running a 5 mile race Thanksgiving morning and then all head to Wilmington to my parents' where we'll cook, eat and drink a ton of wine. I just like being with everyone (6 adults and 3 kids) and not really having to do anything for 6 days. Christmas morning is now spent at home and we go to the in laws later in the day. I reckon about 100 people will be in and out throughout the day over there. Catholic family.... I'm pretty excited about the holidays this year since my daughter may understand it all a little.

    OK, on to the lushiness.....

Friday I had a glass of wine while waiting for our next round of out of town guests to show up. I had a pint of Magners at dinner and then took my daughter and my friend's 4 year old son back to my house while all my friends and husband went to see The Cold War Kids. I actually had a great time; put on The Neverending Story for the kids and drank wine and did my puzzle in comfy clothes. I finished my bottle around midnight when the concert goers returned home. I wish I could have gone to sleep but of course we had to hot tub it (my neighbors have to hate me.....) till about 2am and then we stayed up talking to our guests till after 3. Of course Daphne was up at 7:30..... Saturday we went to Lexington for the UK football game. Met a bunch of friends for tailgaiting and I had a total of about 5 drinks. Then 2 glasses of wine while watching Grey's yesterday. So not too bad of a weekend. I realized again how I LOATHE staying up past about 1 anymore. It's just not worth it......

Have a great week lushes! I'm going to try for a couple 0's. My husband got whatever sickness I had (that I finally got over) so it should be a low key week.

Friday-1 pear vodka and apple cider and 6oz of wine
Saturday-about 3/4 of a bottle at my brothers house and about 1/2 bottle when I got home
    Sunday= 3 1/2 beers

Feel pretty good today...well except that its monday and I hate my job

Lenny is leaving me AGAIN this week....how dare he   He has a meeting out by state college from wednesday to friday. SO he will be home for the weekend and we are brewing a double brown ale on saturday

Not sure what that week will bring but mostly some wine a few days.

Only a glass of wine last night so not too bad after a zero on Sat.
I would like to rack up a few more 0's since the scale is inching up...but it's only 10am and I've got an italian pot roast in the crockpot which would be soooo good with red wine. hmmmm.:drinker:

Hey lushes - I've tried to catch up on all the busy posts.

I joined the gym at my work today and learned of a new benefit to all employees. I get $350 to use toward classes or re-reimbursement of the gym membership.

It is gloomy and rainy here and people are crabby - especially the one when my car door blew open and hit her car. There was no damage but she just kept crappin' on. How many times can I say I am sorry? Move on....kick my tires IDK

Oh, if anyone is a Groupon fan - don't ever buy their sheets, they are crap despite stating they are worth $300 and 1000 thread count...returned today!!

My husband and I congratulate ourselves if we make it past 10 o'clock :noway:

I've started my Christmas shopping already because I want it done nice and early this year. Two of the husbands gifts came and while they are both laptop business cases they are both fabulous. One is a nice large one for when he wants to fit clothes in with his laptop and papers, while the other is a nice slim one for when he just has to slip into New York for the day or night. I'm going to wait and give him the large one in December before he has to go to London but I think I'll give him the smaller of the two in a week or so when he has to go to New York for his company's Game Dinner. It'll be a late 1 year wedding/10 year dating anniversary gift. The case he has now is just an utter wreck and my handsome business guy needs a nice business bag

It's getting cooler here, 44 today and supposed to be 48 three of the other days with a couple 60ish days in between. Just bought some new cozy, large sweaters because one can never have enough so I am all set, bring on the cold! Only problem with the Fall/Winter months is it starts getting dark now ... 3:38 in the afternoon  which makes me very sleepy

    Have a good week all!!

Monday - 2 (small glasses) of red wine (which I don't really like anyway, but it was part of the cooking class so I drank it).
Tuesday - 0, going to dinner with a friend at a Vietnamese restaurant that doesn't serve alcohol :)

Probably 0's for the rest of the week....

    Monday - 5 Sam Adams
    Tuesday, 0
    Wednesday, 0
    Thursday, 0
    Friday, 0
    Saturday, 0
    Sunday, 0

    Total: 5

Well, I got off my fat *kitten* yesterday and went to my new gym....I really, really need to reign in the drinking tho because it is counter-intuitive

I have been tracking all my spending and you would not believe the amount I spend on groceries.

    Last week $492.00
    This week $473.00

This is not luxury eating of crab and sea bass each night....Feeding a family of men is INSANE!!
