How many calories do you burn putting on a new pair of support stockings, it definitely raised my heart rate, tugging, pulling and shimmying.
love it.... btw lets go with 5 per minute....

 @ Janet - if it's anything like me trying to get on my body shaper (that's the "nice name" they give girdles now) , i'm voting for about 100 calories.... i'm exhausted and sweating like a pig when i finally get it on....and then of course i have to pee.... hmm TMI maybe??
Well Hatters, I thought I'd give a little update to my world.... you may (OR may not have) noticed that I stopped logging any food at the beginning of October when I got that virus.... i hit the button on my phone to log into the site but did not log a bit of food as I was pretty much existing on tea and an occasional piece of toast. ..and I was too exhausted to even think of being on the computer. I lost too much weight in those two weeks; I was weak as a kitten and it took me another two weeks to start eating again. In any case, I realized after my last weigh in that I am within 3 pounds of my original goal weight.... and I have decided to continue NOT logging for a while to see what happens... if the lessons i have learned about portion sizes and good nutrition which i will need to carryme into maintenance for the rest of my life have sunk in.
I didnt plan to log forever when I started, but I didn't NOT plan to log forever either lol. But if this is going to be a life style then I have to see what tooks i may need for maintenance that will work for me.
I am hoping to return to my strength training and walking by the end of the week . I know I will have to start over at the beginning but I'm not thinking of it as a negative but instead will work towards getting first back to where I was, and then progressing from there . I am pleased with my effort so far this month in regard to my eating but obviously the exercise hasn't been there. I'm actually ok with that as I have also learned on my journey to listen to my body (well it took a header on the stairs to remind me I went back to work too soon lol) and knew that until I had fully recovered it was not in the cards
Well I'm starving so better make dinner. . Note to self - one habit I still need to work on is waiting too long to eat then eating crap. To tide me over. Fortunately since I havent been home for a week and now that I'm back but didnt shop today, there is none at home lol. I may chew my nails for a little protein!!!0 -
Snooozie, I had noticed but remember what you said about not having the strength. I have wondered about this same point when I get to goal and how to handle it. My sister still logs daily, but I was actually hoping to at some point be able to use the knowledge of everything I have learned thus far and not have to log daily. I would like to have a float limit both under and over, weight once per week, and not have to log every bite. I am interested to see how this works for you and how realistic it may be for me to have these expectations, so do keep us updated.
I vote that both support hose and supporters be added as workout exercises !!!!!0 -
I'm working on being more mindful of my eating habits - more good for you / less chocolate and other sweets ...
More water - less soda - more black coffee, hot tea (decaf at night)....
Working on less logging every doggone bite - but being mindful of my choices.....
May stop weekend logging in every meal and snack choice.... but there is satisfaction in the # of days logged going up.....

Hello Hatters,
I am new to MFP and just joined this group today, thanks Snooozie for the invite. Also today, I finished up my profile info, etc. Thirty days of 100% was meant for me as I started - or should I say re-started - my weight loss journey on Nov 1st. I've been tracking every day since and haven't touched the grapes at all. December is a-comin'. I am hoping that MFP and this group was meant to be! Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome Diane,
You have joined the best group of supporters a lady could ever ask for !!! They have been here through my thick and my slimming. They have let me rant, rave, and type out my thoughts, as they have gave their support.

 I jus re read my post and realized I typed "the importance of moving GAS' instead of "has". Hahahahaa
Well lets face it....it really is important to move your "gas" too!! :blushing:0 -
Welcome Diane.
I agree with Snoozie that moving gas is important. And eating healthy with lots of fiber, will definitely keep the gas and other things moving! Although too much gas will also keep your family movng to the other side of the room!0 -
You guys are so inspiring already with you amazing losses! Thanks for your welcome.0
-
Welcome Diane,
I agree with Janet about the "gas" moving your family to the other side...My daughter has moved 6 miles away...
Seriously, you couldn't ask for a better group of women or supporters than this group. I have been through lots of weight loss, weight gain and personal ups and downs. They have been my voice of reason and a good laugh here and there when I needed it most.0 -
  I needed a good laugh this morning...Thanks, Snoozie...I know I'm in the right [place....I may not lose much weight.......but I Can move some gas!!:bigsmile:0
-
Gas is a good thing to move. It might be better if you move oneself outside to do it however. Others in the household don't appreciate it much! I know from experience! lol
Welcome Diane! We don't always talk this way, but it's fun when it comes out! lol!0 -
Snoozie you always have the perfect words even when they aren't the intended words !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are on half day today and the students are wild, I needed a good laugh !!!!!!!!!!!!0

Bought a treadmill today from my neighbour who is moving to NZ. Pretty basic, doesn't incline, buy hey it was only 75 bucks. Just the thing to get me moving and keep me moving through the next 4 months of Canadian weather. Now I need to set some realistic goals. Any advice for someone who is just getting started? Wishing you all a great weekend, Diane0

I found the recipe for the asparagus...it can be tweaked any way you like.
The Recipe
Serves 4 - 6
Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 07 min
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds asparagus, trimmed (about 15 spears)
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
5 slices bacon
2 ounces goat cheese crumbles
Instructions:
1. Preheat your grill.
2. Place asparagus in a shallow dish and sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, pepper and olive oil. Toss to coat completely.
3. Divide the asparagus into groups of three. Wrap a piece of bacon around each bundle.
4. Place on the grill and cook over medium heat until the bacon is cooked through and the asparagus is softened about 7 minutes. Serve.
Enjoy!0 -

Exactly - for 15 calories not enough to worry about - better than the 100 full strength cals...

Some info on mayo:
Homemade mayonnaise can approach 85% fat before the emulsion breaks down; commercial mayonnaise is more typically 70-80% fat. "Low fat" mayonnaise products contain starches, cellulose gel, or other ingredients to simulate the texture of real mayonnaise.
So I'm thinking starches and cellulose gel and "other ingredients" don't sound too healthy either. I'd rather use just a little bit of real mayo and count it as my fats, or use sour cream in a mix with it because sour cream is only 3% fat.
~Susan0 -
I often mix light mayo with light sour cream especially to make chicken or tuna salad, etc. That's how I'll get rid of the 0% mayo. I'm too cheap to throw it out LOL.0
