What are everyone's running goals for 2014?
I will start.
1000 miles in a year
1 race a month
2 marathons - under 5 hours… argh
Rachel Carson Challenge 35 mile endurance hike challenge (not really a run but there will be some running involved)
4 half marathons I want to be under 2 hours in all of them lol

I'd like to run a sub 46 10K and sub 21 5K this year.0

Haven't really set any running goals yet, although I am going to be training for a half in May. I'm coming off of too weak a base to ramp up and go for a PR in this race, it's more for just to be a part of race weekend and keep me from slacking too much like I did last year. What are everyone's running goals for 2014?

That Rachel Carson Challenge goes basically right past my house. I have friends & relatives who've done it, but I haven't yet. I say every year that I am going to sign up and haven't yet.0 -
My goals are pretty simple:
1. To PR my half marathon in April...ideally, I'd like to have a pace of 10:30 per mile, but I'm not sure how realistic that is.
2. To participate in, and not embarrass myself during, a 200-mile relay race I plan to run with some co-workers
3. To become a person who enjoys running and who is motivated to go out for a run without an external motivator (if I don't have an organized race on my calendar, I'm not sure how much I would get out and run)0 -
Ooh, fun!! Ok my primary goal for this coming year is to be able to train pain free and injury free!! And beyond that I would like to do a 21 minute 5k, a 45 minute 10k, a 1:45 Half and a 3:40 full. Might take more than a year to make those but I'm sure going to try!! I would also like to log 2000 miles in 2014. And I want to do a sprint Triathlon. It's going to be a busy year!0

To finally run a sub 2 half marathon. 5th time's a charm!
Sub 25 5k - first attempt Jan 1
Train for my first marathon.
Run 1000 miles during the year (will finsh 2013 with about 850)
In 2013, I got a pr in all of my 7 races, would love to do the same in 2014.0 -
I will finish out 2013 just under my goal of 800 miles, I am at 781 as of this morning and I don't think I will be able to finish.
For next year I have a goal of 1000 miles and to complete my first FULL Marathon. I just signed up for the Lake Placid Marathon in June, and hopefully my training will lead to a PR in a half marathon in April!! I just received a Garmin for Christmas so I am all set to reach these goals!0 -
Qualify for Boston 2015.0

1. Run zero miles on the treadmill (I've accomplished this in 2013 with a few days to go).
2. Log over 3000 miles for the year (I'll be a shade over 2800 this year)
3. Sub 19 5K. This is probably the hardest. I'll need to knock off 19 seconds which is huge.
4. 5:15 mile, sub 5 1500m
5. 3:05 marathon in the Fall.
That's about it for next year.0 -
I would like to run a minimum of 1600 miles in 2014.
I have a 50M Ultra that I would like to:
a) finish
b) finish before they close down the course!
Run another Fall marathon.
Toss in a few 10K's or so and I'm good.0 -
1) Finally snag my BQ (missed it by 3:19 earlier this month... grrr!)
2) Get a solid half marathon PR (current PR was the second half of the marathon earlier this month, which tells me I've got a much faster half in me!)
3) Stay injury-free and remember the joys of running without getting too caught up in all the data (probably my biggest challenge!)
Happy running! :flowerforyou:0 -
1. BQ with a 10 minute margin (In mid June) [embracing my new age group ]
2. 22s in a 5K.
3. Get to 50 miles a week, and maintain it.
4. sub 1:45 half (I don't think I will make this but still a goal).
5. Better than 2013 (if all fails)0 -
Run my first 10K this spring.
Beat a 9 minute pace by February.
I probably will do a 1/2 marathon by the time 2014 is over.0 -
For (late) 2014 ....
A 1:55 Half Marathon
A 50 minute 10k

Pretty simple, I want to break 20 minutes for the 5k. I'm not getting any younger . I'll be spending more time with the half marathon and marathon training groups so my other goal is to help others get their goals.0

Run my first HM0
-
1. Run my first Half Marathon in March and not walk at all
2. Work on my Cadence
3. Run 500 miles for the whole year. This year I am currently at 322.10
4. Build more endurance and work on form0 -
1. Get through my training injury free. Beginning of the year knee injury sucked last Jan.
2. Run the NYC Half in 1:35.
3. BQ at the Paris Marathon.....or so I hope.
4. 1500 miles for the year.
5. Keep a balance with lifting during training since it helps keep me injury free.0 -
I am going to try to go to nationals in DIII track for either the 5k or 10k! but if that doesn't happen, then break 17:30 for the 5k and 37:00 for the 10k.0
-
1. Train more effectively and consistently
2. Increase my total mileage by 25% for 2014 (750 mile goal)
3. Sub 20 5K
4. 1:50 RiverBank Run (25K)
5. Sub 1:40 Half (If I can hit the 25K goal this should be easy)
Doing the 5K training now, then rolling into the 25K training for May.0
