Haven't really set any running goals yet, although I am going to be training for a half in May. I'm coming off of too weak a base to ramp up and go for a PR in this race, it's more for just to be a part of race weekend and keep me from slacking too much like I did last year.

That Rachel Carson Challenge goes basically right past my house. I have friends & relatives who've done it, but I haven't yet. I say every year that I am going to sign up and haven't yet.

    My goals are pretty simple:

    1. To PR my half marathon in April...ideally, I'd like to have a pace of 10:30 per mile, but I'm not sure how realistic that is.
    2. To participate in, and not embarrass myself during, a 200-mile relay race I plan to run with some co-workers
    3. To become a person who enjoys running and who is motivated to go out for a run without an external motivator (if I don't have an organized race on my calendar, I'm not sure how much I would get out and run)

Ooh, fun!! Ok my primary goal for this coming year is to be able to train pain free and injury free!! And beyond that I would like to do a 21 minute 5k, a 45 minute 10k, a 1:45 Half and a 3:40 full. Might take more than a year to make those but I'm sure going to try!! I would also like to log 2000 miles in 2014. And I want to do a sprint Triathlon. It's going to be a busy year!

    To finally run a sub 2 half marathon. 5th time's a charm!

    Sub 25 5k - first attempt Jan 1

    Train for my first marathon.

Run 1000 miles during the year (will finsh 2013 with about 850)

In 2013, I got a pr in all of my 7 races, would love to do the same in 2014.

I will finish out 2013 just under my goal of 800 miles, I am at 781 as of this morning and I don't think I will be able to finish.

For next year I have a goal of 1000 miles and to complete my first FULL Marathon. I just signed up for the Lake Placid Marathon in June, and hopefully my training will lead to a PR in a half marathon in April!! I just received a Garmin for Christmas so I am all set to reach these goals!

    1. Run zero miles on the treadmill (I've accomplished this in 2013 with a few days to go).
    2. Log over 3000 miles for the year (I'll be a shade over 2800 this year)
    3. Sub 19 5K. This is probably the hardest. I'll need to knock off 19 seconds which is huge.
    4. 5:15 mile, sub 5 1500m
    5. 3:05 marathon in the Fall.

That's about it for next year.

I would like to run a minimum of 1600 miles in 2014.

I have a 50M Ultra that I would like to:
    a) finish
    b) finish before they close down the course!

    Run another Fall marathon.

Toss in a few 10K's or so and I'm good.

    1) Finally snag my BQ (missed it by 3:19 earlier this month... grrr!)
    2) Get a solid half marathon PR (current PR was the second half of the marathon earlier this month, which tells me I've got a much faster half in me!)
    3) Stay injury-free and remember the joys of running without getting too caught up in all the data (probably my biggest challenge!)

    Happy running! :flowerforyou:

    1. BQ with a 10 minute margin (In mid June) [embracing my new age group ]
    2. 22s in a 5K.
    3. Get to 50 miles a week, and maintain it.
    4. sub 1:45 half (I don't think I will make this :D but still a goal).
    5. Better than 2013 (if all fails)

Run my first 10K this spring.
Beat a 9 minute pace by February.
I probably will do a 1/2 marathon by the time 2014 is over.

Pretty simple, I want to break 20 minutes for the 5k. I'm not getting any younger :). I'll be spending more time with the half marathon and marathon training groups so my other goal is to help others get their goals.

    Run my first HM
  • 1. Run my first Half Marathon in March and not walk at all
    2. Work on my Cadence
    3. Run 500 miles for the whole year. This year I am currently at 322.10
    4. Build more endurance and work on form

    1. Get through my training injury free. Beginning of the year knee injury sucked last Jan.
    2. Run the NYC Half in 1:35.
    3. BQ at the Paris Marathon.....or so I hope.
    4. 1500 miles for the year.
    5. Keep a balance with lifting during training since it helps keep me injury free.
  • I am going to try to go to nationals in DIII track for either the 5k or 10k! but if that doesn't happen, then break 17:30 for the 5k and 37:00 for the 10k.

    1. Train more effectively and consistently
    2. Increase my total mileage by 25% for 2014 (750 mile goal)
    3. Sub 20 5K
    4. 1:50 RiverBank Run (25K)
    5. Sub 1:40 Half (If I can hit the 25K goal this should be easy)

Doing the 5K training now, then rolling into the 25K training for May.

I ran a 1:58 HM last year. Will continue to strive for 1:50 range. Will train for my first FM late summer or early fall. Cycle more. That kinda took a back seat to running last year.
  • One of my goals is to consistently run 100+ miles (160km) every month. I'm also aiming to race a sub-2h half marathon this spring (currently registered for a half in May and another at the end of June)
My long-term running goal is to complete a full marathon, but I'm not sure if I'll get there in 2014.

Run my first marathon (which is in 2 weeks, and I'm feeling pretty good about it, so I'm pretty confident about this one)
Run at least 1 race per month
Become an Ultra Runner (already signed up for a 50K in March, and if that goes well, I want to sign up for a 50 miler in late summer or early fall)
    Complete Pikes Peak Ascent
Run a second marathon with a goal time (I do not have a goal time for my first)
Also, complete 2000 miles over the year (this is not just running, but can include any cross training I do as well - I've made it to about 1700 this year so far)

Really haven't set goals for 2014 yet, my first 50 mile race in a couple of weeks but it feels more like a capstone for my 2013 work than a new set of goals. To be honest maintaining the success I achieved this year would be amazing.

    1000 miles for the year
Sub 2 hour half marathon in February
Sub 50 minute 10k in October

That's all I've got so far.

The year 2013 I walked 2500km, and would like to walk more.:) .In March I want to run my first half marathon, and who knows what else ..
the most important is to have health.

I am actually expecting to run less in 2014 than the last few years! I am still planning at least of couple of races, a trail marathon in April and a 50 miler in June, and then I will see how I feel. There are lots of fall ultras that I can think about later in the year but I have to sign up for the June 50 miler on Jan 6 (otherwise I will not get in to that one).

My primary goal is to ride both my road and mountain bikes more in 2014. I did very little road riding because my bike was destroyed and spent several months getting rehabbed in Wisconsin and I didn't mountain bike because, well, I don't have a good reason (I was running??).

I love running but I need a little more variety. My plan is to return to a more packed race schedule in 2015 (including doing TransRockies again).

Main goals for 2014 go sub 2hr for a HM and sub 25:00 for a 5K, Olympic distance triathlon......otherwise it's jut run injury free and keep on having fun.
  • to finish (and enjoy at least some of) my first marathon in May and all the training that comes before it

another half before that, am really trying not to worry about my pace

if I still like running I'll get a charity place in the Berlin marathon later in the year, love Berlin and never stay more than a couple of days so it could be a sort of holiday?

I'd like to get off the road and back onto my fields and farm tracks as soon as possible though, that is my immediate goal but it's up to the weather and the amount of daylight available :)

^^^^^^^ Wow... these are some great goals!!! I'm feeling a little intimidated. But here goes:

    1. Complete my first Full Marathon (bonus goal, finish around 4:30:00)
    2. PR in both of my half marathons -- this will be my third year running the M2 challenge with a half in June and a follow up in August. So far, my PR is 2:14:36
    3. Consistently run a sub- 10 minute mile in 5ks and 10ks
    4. At least 1 race every month
    5. Run 750 miles in 2014 (did about 550 this year)
    6. Train hard, but enjoy running with others from time to time
    7. No injuries this year!

    Here's to a great, run-filled 2014 to all!!
