Hi all,
Can't believe it is February already. Spring is just around the corner and we will be back to the summer time drinking. Right now red wine is my friend.
As I said earlier I am making it a rule that I can't get on the computer until I have dreadmilled for an hour. I have done so yesterday and today. It feels good to be moving again.
So what challenges does February bring for you?

Oops, posted this on the old thread before I saw this one was up.
Kat , I just wanted to let you know that I am all teary eyed and choked up regarding your loss. Our fur babies mean so much to us. It is never easy. 10 years ago I sat with my girl Darcy as she went to sleep forever. I will never forget the bittersweet pain of that moment. I was so glad she was no longer in pain but I still miss her to this day. You guys were all here with me when I lost Kiera and I am so grateful that you were. You are in my thoughts and may your sweet kitty rest in peace and play in the sunlight where ever she is.
Thank you so much Mama Lush and thank you WolfIt definitely helps when others actually understand what you're going through because as we know there are plenty of people who just view them as pets and that's it. But to us they are not pets, they are family, they are our babies/kids. Husband and I just picked out the sweetest memorial urn for our baby girl. It's a sleeping kitty with angel wings. You send in a few pictures of your kitty and they custom paint it to *****cat's colors
You can also have an engraved name tag so we decided on "Mittens, Always & Forever, 2000-2014" She was older but we decided the dates that we actually had her were a nice idea. Today has been slightly easier, though the other fur babes are taking advantage of mommy being sad and they're getting anything they want. I keep looking in my baby girls favorite spots and expecting to see her and while I take comfort in the fact that she'll never be sick again and all the amazing memories I have of her it's still just so hard knowing that I'll never get to snuggle her again or hear her loving purrs
I honestly don't think in however long I live that I will ever be able to find another *****cat with the same unconditionally loving/sweet personality as my Mittens. She more so had the personality of a puppy dog than your typical independent kitty. But that's enough of being down. I've got happy music on and I'm wearing bright colors for my sweet girl
which is making this gloomy day we're having a bit more up beat.
Thank you all again, you're all so very wonderful:flowerforyou:

Kat- Very sorry for your loss. Our pets give us so much, it's hard when they go. As for your fur-babes, you are all they could wish for in a "mom". I can see from your posts that your soon to be new born will be raised in a family of love!
February! The winter is almost half over. Days getting longer, and darned if we don't have a few daffodils poking their heads up out of the ground! :flowerforyou:
Did extra workouts yesterday so I can enjoy the food that will out during the game.0 -
Thank you Ryze and you're so right, they give us so much and we seem to realize just how much they give once we lose them. I try to be the best mommy to my babes as I can and Kyle is a wonderful daddy to them
I don't know many husbands that not only love their fur babes as much as their wives never mind will spend the kind of money we've spent on ours to keep them healthy and do whatever we can for them to make sure they've got a wonderful life. He's such an amazing husband and I couldn't ever ask for more in someone I'm going to spend the rest of my life with
Apparently pu$$ycat is a bad word, sad world when a simple term for a kitty is considered vulgar.
I've gotten lots of my cleaning done since I actually had some energy today and now I'm going to get a work out in before we head to sister in-law and her boyfriend's place for the Superbowl.0 -
Blowout game means everyone eats and drinks more because they're bored.

okay, I am officially bummed.0

Kat, so sorry. We had to put our doggie down almost 2 years ago now. We had it done in home which was nice and then they cremated her and we picked her ashes up shortly after. She's in an urn on our mantel.
I got a paw print on my foot as a tribute; she was my first pet as an adult. They were awesome and provided tons of ink prints of her actual paw, but I ended up with a more artsy/almost graffiti like print. Anyways, I'm glad your experience was as good as can be expected. Hugs.'

Su - 2 Magners and a 312 so 3
TOTAL 24
At least I'm consistent. I've been in the low 20's the last 3 weeks. I'm headed to Phoenix next week so hope to have a pretty perfect week food and drink wise this week. Let my liver rest a little before our trip. We're just going for 3 nights and only have 2 full days, but it will be nice to get away for a bit. Have a great week lushes!
And one of my February goals is 35 miles.0 -
Sat - 2 beers
Sun - 4 drinks0 -
Very sorry for your loss Kat.0

Kat, so sorry about the kitty. As I've stated before, I'd be your cat or dog any day of the week because you are such a good mama.:flowerforyou: I do have to admit that I slightly giggled over the comment about the other animals taking advantage of your grief and getting whatever they want. My animals boss us around so I kind of get that. In fact, if you try to ignore the cat, he will bite your ankles and get your attention that way.
Sydney, glad you got your dance on.
Ashley, have fun on your trip.
MamaLush, good job on the dreadmill
Superbowl pass used - 4 vodka soda & 2 coffees with baileys - feel OK today...
Next passes are the 8th, 14th & 22nd - I am up to 2 miles running without a break :drinker:0 -
Kat, I am so sorry for your loss!! It is always soooo hard losing a beloved pet. You're so right, they aren't just pets, they are family members & it is a super hard loss to go through. My thoughts are with you!
I cannot believe that today is February 3rd! I was out of town for the weekend for my 27th birthday, so from Thursday-Sunday I drank ALOT. Definitely taking a break and having all 0's for the week! Although I've discovered this new Elderberry wine that I am in love with! That will be my Friday treat! We are supposed to get hit with a ton of snow starting tonight through tomorrow....so, I plan to hit the Y tonight and then I don't know what I'll do for the rest of the week. Ugh, I dislike snow!0 -

Also, sorry for the loss of your beloved kitty, Kat, I bet the right cat will find you someday! My kitties will be 13 this year. My husband says he doesn't have any cats, but they like him better than me! I bet they are happy to have him during the day. He texts me pictures of them!
February is my Costa Rica month-we leave Feb. 15. I am excited!
I am trying to net 1200 cals per day until then but it is hard! We got tickets to the Nuggets game tonight and I am going to try it with wine instead of beer. I drank a lot of beer yesterday so it won't be too awful...0 -
Sorry for your loss Kat, losing a pet is sometimes harder than losing our human loved ones. I think just because they seem so helpless.
I am still having my nightly wine. I have been reading articles regarding drinking and breastfeeding and it is amazing the differing opinions out there. I am usually pretty good about waiting until he goes to sleep and he basically sleeps 8 to 8 but I do get up to pump at 5:30, but I figure a good 7 hours is plenty of time to get out of my system. Most articles say if you feel sober enough to drive then you are ok to breastfeed. But, then there are others (judgemental of course) that say you should just wait until you are totally through breastfeeding to drink and its selfish if you cant wait. I feel like I am a better mom if I am able to relax with my wine and chocolate every night. Yesterday I had a bit more than usual and I ended up pumping and dumping last night, just to be cautious.
Anyways enough about that! Happy February Lushes!0 -

Thank you all again
Chloe I think it's much harder than losing a human loved one because animals love unconditionally. They're always excited to see us even when we're in a horrible mood. They don't judge us the way humans do. I think it's harder because we form a special bond with our fur babes and they touch our hearts the way no human ever could0 -
Chloe, I nursed for 10 months and drank the whole time. If I felt drunk, I would pump. I tested those strips out early on and found that after 3 drinks (drank at a reasonable pace), my milk was still "suitable". So 3 was sort of my limit. Women in Europe drink throughout their pregnancies and while they nurse. So did many people in earlier generations. It is interesting to read the differing opinions. I bet 2 glasses of wine a night makes you a more patient Mom, so take that into consideration.
Monday - 0
We're supposed to get nasty weather tonight. I've got some bacon and I think I want breakfast for dinner. Whenever I have breakfast for dinner, I like to drink beer with it for some strange reason. Lucky for me I have 5 312s in the fridge. So we'll see what happens tonight.....0 -
Last night was a zero...
I've never had a massage before but I am going for one today to try and treat my left heel pain. The pain is not horrible but I think a deep tissue massage will help. That's my hope anyway.
I took a 50 minute kettlebell class last night and I loved it. I love the feeling of being strong. Ok, cleaning, massage and schedule run for today.
Enjoy your breakfast Ashley - the kids love when I make breakfast for dinner0 -
Thanks for that Ashley  It's nice to hear other mothers supporting words and I am sure that those glasses of wine make me a better mother and wife!
Monday- 8oz of cab and a Stella (one of my new fav beer choices)0 -
My dreadmill blew a gasket last night. I knew it was coming. Time to get it overhauled. then my computer blew a gasket and I can't get any picture on the monitor of the laptop. I am just waiting for the third thing to blow up. Whatever that may be. I am thinking about joining the gym by work. Its a good deal. If I go 8 times in a month my company reimburses me the dues. I just have to suck it up and go right after work.
last night was one cider and one ounce of vodka. pretty good for me. and I kept moving for the whole hour even after the damn dreadmill wheazed and died.0 -
Eric told me I better pick up wine in case we get snowed in. I guess I must oblige. :drinker:
Where's Kate been? I hope she hasn't fallen off the wagon or anything!0 -
kim..massages are the absolute best!!! enjoy
mama lush..that sucks about your computer and dreadmill. I'd be holding my breath about the 3rd thing too lol.
better..mind yo hubs. he's a smart man.
I think kate might be snowed in and maybe working from home? I have seen her log some exercise...but she usually checks in here when she's at work.
I've been in a funk..I'm really going to work on snapping myself out of it. I got in some lifting today so that should help.
Sunday-3... Not too bad considering super bowl and all.
Monday-2 red wine
Probably finish off the bottle of red tonight?0 -
Last night I managed only 2 cups of wine at the basketball game. Go Nuggets! it was an exciting finish-they won by 1 point with like a second on the clock, and it was a 3-point shot!
I am going to make a crustless quiche for dinner-sort of breakfast also! but I like it because it is pretty low-cal for dinner and then I can have it for breakfast too. Luckily, I don't want beer with my breakfast:noway:
So, I should be able to keep 0s tonight and tomorrow...0 -
Chole, I think it's great that you research the information and do what's best for you and baby. BTW, that pic is seriously adorable. You have to submit it somewhere in a contest. It's that cute.
Mama, yikes on the double whammy...
SoCal - find your groove, girl...your Spring is on the way. You were right, the massage was really nice. We just did 1/2 hour from the knees down and she said the left side was TIGHT. So, hopefully, with some more sessions. I can finally get rid of the PF symptoms.
Ashley - you are a good wife; but, I like the ulterior motive0 -
I obeyed my husband.
So I had red wine with my breakfast rather than beer.
M - 0
T - 2.5
Hopefully a 0 tonight. Weigh in is tomorrow and I'd like to see a little loss....maybe.....or at least not a gain.0 -
Still sober and totally bored with this feeling.:indifferent:0
-
quick fly by from work. Computer is dead, dead, dead. I have to get a new one. But I forgot my wallet so not today. Tomorrow. I had a bunch of sweet tea vodka last night. I am thinking red wine tonight cuz it is really really cold. (We for us at least.
)
I was too pissed off yesterday about the dreadmill to do anything. I will attempt to work out tonight.
Keep on lushing, my friends.0 -
Another day of sobriety...tried to do a 2 mile run today and my legs would not cooperate. They are still recovering from the kettlebells. I will have to repeat this week of training, Week 7 of 18.
Still holding out for Saturday...drunkard bowling & pass #20 -
work has sucked *kitten* lately. I'm gunna go back to being retired.
I cut off any more new tax clients...I just can't go through another season of being an accountant. I may be good at it...and it brings in nice extra cash..but I *hate* it. no mas! :grumble:
Got my dad's trust in order and house on the market. Everyone keep their fingers crossed it sells quickly.
I'm moderating with the red wine and staying within my calories. Had 1 1/2 glasses last night.0 -
M - 0
T - 2.5
W - half bottle of wine plus cocktail of grapefruit vodka with a little OJ and lemonade; shaken served up. = 3.5
R - half pint of beer, half a bottle of wine, half a bottle of second bottle of wine = 5
TOTAL = 11
8 drinks left for the weekend. I may actually accomplish this if I don't drink tonight or moderate well.0
