Sydney- thanks for the pic of what a slice of paradise is like!

So yesterday morning I got up to find that our lab mix Molly had gotten into a bag of cat food. Wasn't sure how much she ate at the time. As the day went on she barfed up a little. Then we went to Monuments Men (see above post ). Came home and had dinner.

Dog was acting funny. Barfed up some kitty kibble. Let her outside for an hour. Checked on her at 8pm and she looked as if she had swallowed a basketball. Belly swollen and very tight. I looked at my wife and said, "Well, shee-it." Or some such thoughtful phrase.

Took her to a 24 hour vet hospital. On the way she barfed in the backseat. She tried to miss her blanket so as not to dirty it. She was successful and there was dog barf all over the seat. I looked at her and said, "Well, shee-it!" Or some such thoughtful phrase.

At the vet they took her right in to the back and she barfed on their floor. I heard someone from the back room say- (well you guessed it.)

They gave her a shot to induce more vomiting, and it worked. They were amazed at her ability to vomit from both her mouth and nose at the same time. Then another shot to stop the vomiting.

That and 200 dollars later and we were home by 10:30. Dog much better. Cat food put away.

Lucky duck Syd. We got hit with another winter storm today. We have a plow guy but with all the snow we already had I still needed to do some shoveling. Let me tell you that it made me even more fed up with being pregnant. I'm used to being able to be active and not having to worry about aches and pains. Normally I can shovel for hours and I would be fine until I sat down for awhile. Well at almost 33 weeks pregnant my back was hollering at me after a few measly scoops of snow :grumble: I don't mind the snow or shoveling for that matter but I'm ready for Spring. I also think that women who say they love being pregnant are just nuts, no offense to any on this board that enjoyed being pregnant. I've had an easy pregnancy but I'm done with being limited as to what I can do physically, I'm an active person and I'm very lucky I've been able to work out through my entire pregnancy but when simple things like cleaning the house make my back scream it makes for a very grumpy Kat. 1 month and 20 days until this little girl hopefully makes her appearance and I can start shrinking back down and getting back to "normal". It's a good thing I haven't been put on bed rest or anything because I'd probably kill someone :noway:

Sorry about your pup Ryze. I know all too well how expensive vet visits are with 5 (:frown: ) animals. Husband and I ended up spending close to $3000 for our baby girl Mittens only to unfortunately find out that we had to say goodbye.

Speaking of my baby girl, I ordered a cute necklace with a kitty on it and an initial M to wear as another way to honor her. I can't wait to use her paw print for my next tattoo though and I really can't wait for her custom urn and cuddle clone to get here. I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since she's been gone. I had a rough morning the other morning, I went up to bed after walking husband downstairs to go to work the way I do every morning and I looked around the empty bed and just started crying. Normally it would have been when she would come up purring and wanting to snuggle  I have good days and hard days as is to be expected. Having all the other beasts certainly helps though

Hope everyone has been doing well :flowerforyou:

So close! I'm not sure I'm ready per say but I'm not really nervous either. I've told a few people how I've just felt like the complete opposite of most pregnant women. I haven't really felt a bond with little girl at all. I think it's mostly because I simply don't know her yet but I've also just not been freaked out about things the way most pregnant women seem to be. I guess I feel like if something were really wrong that I would really know. I have had a couple dreams this week where little one is out and about and it's made me pretty excited to meet her  If I could compare myself to anyone it would be to Miranda when she was pregnant on Sex and the City. People keep expecting me to be super excited or want a baby shower and I shot down the baby shower real quick. Instead we're having a baby party, both men and women, no super baby themed things, just people getting together and having a good time. I don't like attention on me and this way I can just act normal and have a good time. I'm strangely not worried about the labor part of things either. I'm just a strange bird I guess

If it makes you feel any better i didn't bond with my son while pregnant....hell, I didn't bond with him as a newborn either. He was colicky and I had postpartum...I remember looking at my husband when we got home from the hospital and saying "What the hell did we just do?" :frown:
You'll figure it all out..there is no "correct" way to go through it all...only the way that works for you.

Kat- I am with ya people who like being pregnant are CRAZY! There were some cool parts about it and I had an easy pregnancy overall, but I was definitely happy when it was over. But, then like SoCal I got home and I was like I don't even know this little guy and all he does is cry so maybe he doesn't even like me:laugh: Then at some point, I can't even tell you when it happened, I fell in love and now I can't even imagine my life without him. My husband (who has experimented in his past) said being in that delivery room was the best high in the entire world and the most intense experience of his life and I have to agree! So excited for you!

Still having my nightly wine and it probably won't change any time soon!

Kat - I hated every second of being pregnant! I am also very active and I did not like "sharing" my body. I did have difficult pregnancies which included hyperemesis and preterm labor. When they asked if I wanted to have her a month early I said "Hell yeah" even when it included an amniocentesis test with that huge *kitten* needle. She was fully cooked at 8 months and labor, which I did naturally, was a walk in the park. I did enjoy the little fluttery feeling when you can first start feeling them move, but other than that, I can't remember anything positive...well besides having an awesome daughter

I did get pregnancy amnesia because four years later I did it again

Drinking is once again under control the last two days 0's!

Thanks ladies. I thought something was wrong with me for not loving being pregnant and not feeling a real bond with baby yet. I think most of it is that I just don't know her and that I also wasn't beyond excited to have kids. I can't wait to meet her though. I don't want just one though, I think two is probably where we will stop but who knows. I want the kids close in age and I want to be done being pregnant so if I can be pregnant around little girls first birthday I think that would be a nice difference.

On another note, the sun is out and things are melting after yesterday's storm but now we're supposed to get more snow tomorrow :grumble: hopefully it's not too much.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's day and weekend   :flowerforyou:

yesterday was half a bottle of champagne in the morning and almost a whole bottle of white during the evening. The wind knocked out the power around 8:30 so we grabbed the laptop and went to bed and watched a chick flick. I had a shot of vodka to help me get sleepy. Power came back on around 11:15 so I was up turning everything off and it took me forever to get back to sleep. I am not sure what today will bring.

    Happy lushing all.

Gary, sorry about all your dog's shee-it but that is what labs do. I am glad she is okay.

I ordered Body by Vi today to start and try to lose some weight! I used to drink it all the time and then just quit randomly...excited to have it arrive!

Hope everyones Monday is going well!

Too much to catch up on, but just wanted to check in and say hi. We were in AZ most of last week. The weather was gorgeous - 80s and sunny everyday. I drank plenty, but did not get black out drunk nor was I sick hungover. The last night the end of the night got a little foggy, but that's probably the drunkest I've been all year. So pretty proud of myself, especially consdering we day drank every day. We didn't drink Friday night when we returned, but I got a little drunk Saturday and haven't drank since.

    S - 0
    M - 0
    T - planning on a 0, but it's warming up out so we'll see.
    W - dinner plans so probably 4
    R - ??
Nothing planned for the weekend except a party I'm hosting for my friend Sunday who sells bags and *kitten*. There'll be booze.

I'm hoping for some weight loss in March and April so that means I hope to drink less. We'll see.

I read this as Body by Victoria and thought WTH? do you drink from there.

I've been uber-lushy and am abstaining for a while. I've not been on MFP for a while, kind of just taking a break.

We are thinking of moving and the Realtor came yesterday. Basically said that the market is really good for this price range and should sell quickly because young families want this school district. Thing is, I love my house and my lot. We've put so much customizing in it and our lot is secluded!!

A month and a half and I'll be back on the moderation and weight loss train. I'm looking forward to the number on the scale going down.

I just found out the husband is heading to Washington state on business all next week (holla Gary and mama lush!)...
I need to use this as an opportunity to crack down on myself with the nutrition/calorie intake instead of letting it derail me. Last time he left town I think I was drunk the entire time :ohwell:
in the meantime I'm moderating and maintaining ok but still am in a bit of a funk.

Wow, I hope he likes cold and wet weather cuz that's what he is going to get!

What part of WA will he be in Syd?

    I know...I warned him!
He'll be in the Seattle/Everett area. He might actually end up in the same building where our mama lush works. His company does work with the company she works for. (I think)

Hi Lushes. I have been crazy busy and haven't stopped by for a while. We are having our date weekend this weekend in "the city". Nice dinner Friday, Spamalot on Saturday and breakfast at one of my favorite restaurants on Sunday. The dogs are going to the kennel and they might get groomed in the process. That would be nice.

I have been moderating. I haven't really felt much like drinking so it has been a couple of vodka rocks right before bed.

Syd - is he coming to the Everett Plant? I realize that we only have about 30,000 employees here but it is still kind of cool to think of your husband coming up this way to work with us. I heard we may get some sun breaks next week so it may be nice.

Kim, it would be so hard to sell a home you love if you don't really want to. I on the other hand am not attached to my house but I can't afford anything else.

    take care lushes!
