    1 dbl lane, 4 swimmers. 90 minutes.
A young lady was trying really hard to get her 400m sub 10 minute Time Trial for her Life Guard Certificate. We gave her the one side of the dbl lane and did a circle in the other side to make sure we didn't interfere with her. It was probably a little frustrating for her seeing us mature adults cruising along lap after lap. In my opinion she was receiving to much feedback-coaching from her 2 parents and Aunty? - she needs an independent 3rd party coach.

    2000m of drills.
50 Front, Back & Breast warm up
    25, 50, 75, 100, 100, 75, 50, 25 Front Crawl & Breast Ladders on 10s rest
    25, 50, 75, 75, 50, 25 Back stroke Ladders on 10s rest
25, 50, 75, 75, 50, 25 Kick; My kick has always been my weakest element. Its a guy thing.
    50 x 4 - 6 kick switch
    50 easy cool down

2600 y in 60 minutes, recovering pace a bit. Did a few sprint laps. Half the pool filled with kids for swimming lessons and the water got super murky. Hadn't seen that before.

the pool is "uncomfortably" warm ( 29C = 84F ) especially when trying to do any real Swim Workout.

I had to chuckle a little. The Y I used to belong to kept the only pool at 86°F. Any lower and the old folks would complain after the geezer water fit classes. My wife, who has arthritis, would simply wear wet suit shorts and top and was fine.
I got used to swimming in that warm water. Some days it got up to 88°F.
Moved to another town where the Y has 2 pools. The program pool where they have the old folks fitness classes kept at 88°F.
The main pool for lap swimming is kept around 79/80°F. Much better. But one Monday morning in January came in to find the heater hat shut down Sunday Night. It was a lovely 73°F. It was awesome.

After minute a lap in a good pace. That is my baseline. I try push laps to hit 55 seconds. But the longest I've held that is about 40 laps.
Is love to be able to average 45 seconds pet lap for my whole 4 mile swim.

That would have to be the toughest session I've done in a long time.

    3000m

    300 warmup

    400 pull

    Then....

16x50 free on 1.30 with every 4th all out
12x50 free on 1.45 with every 3rd all out
8x50 free on 2.00 with every 2nd all out
4x50 free on 2.30 all of them all out

And apparently "all out" means 35s or below!

Then 300 warmdown and home to die!

35 minute Noon Splash and Dash back to work. To many people so hard to do any type of structured Swim Plan. 5 of us in the "Fast" Dbl Lane. 6 in the Medium and 3 in the Slow-Leisure Lane. The Waterslide Pool recycles back into the main pool Fast Lane which push's you off the wall into the other 1/2 of the lane if you are not paying attention. So no Backstroke :'( .

    25m Bk & 25m Br x 4 ( Bk on the Rope, Br on the wall )
    750m FrCr in 20 mins ( Avg ~ 18min - to many delays from the crowd )
    50m kick
    100m easy Br

My backstroke almost feels rather normal and good.

    Noon Hour Splash and dash.
I had a hard time counting today. I usually count out 5 laps=10 lengths for 250m then I change to a different stroke. Today I some how was counting by 10's = 20 lengths = 500m but in my mind this was correct for 250m. Wasn't until I was on my last cycle that I noticed the pool was starting to empty out - a quick glance at the clock and it was 12:50. That's when I realized my Brain Cramp :# - since I had just about completed the last cycle, I had to keep going, right? Dropped into Crawl to speed it up.

    10 20 x 25 Fr
    20 x 25 Br
    20 x 25 Fr
    10 x 25 Bk
    10 x 25 Fr = 2000m

Just annual physical. Went fine. Just have to get back on track and lose what I gained back in the last 2 years. China travel messed up the mojo. :D Need to get back to LCHF basics.

First time back in the pool after 3 or 4 weeks off - holidays (cycling and walking)

Water felt like treacle.and I am disappointingly down in my usual swim endurance. Whereas my cycle fitness was certainly up but already beginning to fade Interesting to see the changes so clearly. But disappointd in my loss of swimming form. Oh well, it'll come back quick enough I guess. And it was my swim fitness that meant I could imagine doing the cycling holiday...q
