Yes. First half way decent swim in ages - a 30 mins session to get the body floating and flowing again....
Funny how quick swimming fitness goes off. I've been pretty active on the bike (eg over 70 miles this weekend) but I was huffing and puffing in the pool! Whereas swimming certainly helps the cycling fitness.
Went at noon. Mmmm. Much prefer my 9 am peace....and once my girl is back at school I aim to be one of the morning regulars again..1 -

I have been swimming pretty regularly this summer, first in Bethesda MD at the local pool and then in the Mediterranean off the coasts of Sardinia and Corsica, but didn't log on here because I didn't always have access to internet, especially in Sardinia. Anyway, last night was the first swim team practice. Lots of my teammates were absolutely DYING after the first 200m so I was pretty pleased that I thought it was quite easy...
One of my teammates that swam with me in London (and set a European record in 200back), the first thing he says to me is "So are you psyched for Budapest July 2017, World Championships?" I just laughed and laughed. But then I thought, maybe if @emmab0902 signs up I might consider it... Also will have to start doing some of her workouts because they are much more serious than ours!0 -

Your trip sounds amazing and welcome back!
3100 @60 minutes...pool is closed for a week, but the weather has cooled off significantly. Going to get in some serious walks and do a bit of lifting.0 -
Pool closed for another week. You guys are getting some great swims in! Gently, I envy you the pool time with your girl, and the upcoming familiar morning routine. Emma, as always, go, girl!! You are such a hard worker, and always upping the challenge. Montepulciano, I envy your speed. I'm such a slowpoke. And gutzy, the distance as always!! I don't have time to swim that long, but I always hear your "voice" at the end of my workout to swim "one more lap" and I usually do sneak a few more in. Aliciamariaq, what a trip!!! I too, swam in the Mediterranean this summer, but not really for fitness, more to try open water swimming for the first time. Have a great opening night! Awesome way to learn lyrics!!!3

I see a lot of awesome swims here! For me it was a shortened session yesterday: 2100 y in 51 minutes, ended by calf cramps. My only chance in the pool this week.0

@aliciamariaq don't think so - would get whipped lol. Got the World Masters here in April then have to speak at a conference in Frankfurt in September so will be broke! Would love to though!!1

Pool closes for a 1 month Maintenance cycle tonight.
800 meters into my planned 2300 m workout and they had the Dreaded " Brown Alert" so the pool closed early = grumpy swimers. I hope to make a few road trips to
@emmab0902 Conference in Frankfurt - lucky you.aliciamariaq wrote: »One of my teammates that swam with me in London (and set a European record in 200back), the first thing he says to me is "So are you psyched for Budapest July 2017, World Championships?" I agree Miss Emma has some jaw dropping workouts. I have copied a few of them to add into my collection of workouts. Of course I have had to modify them to match my skill set.1 -

Haha! I doubt you would get whipped. I certainly would, but that is ok I would just go for the fun of it. And as my friend said, it's a goal to work towards. I still have to see qualifying times, I doubt I can even enter. But Montepulciano, you might, wanna come?
If you have extra time and it fits your budget, swing by Milan after your conference. You would love it! Love my adopted city!0 -
@aliciamariaq I would so love to. Would love to also see Denmark and Poland as that's where the two sides of my maternal family come from. My father's side are English and all my half siblings are there - have only met them once in 2006. That's one reason why I had wanted to do the European Masters this year.0

Just Lurking and reading. No water in our local pool as they are doing a major Tile replacement Program.0

Unplanned swim last Sunday -- I was riding a wave runner thing and flew off while going fairly fast. About a 75 yard swim back to the boat. The only smart thing I did that day was put on a PFD before starting out. Next time I swim in the Puget Sound, I'd prefer to have a wetsuit! And not go skipping across the water on entry. Sore enough to stay at home today but I think tomorrow might be a good day to try the pool.0

Glad no serious damage. I had this image of you skimming over the surface like a skipping stone. Took me back to the days of learning to water ski...oh yeah...so much fun!!0 -
Lots of heavy yard work over the long weekend. No swimming. Took a recovery day today. Back in the pool tomorrow.1
