    Across the lake and back on two days where we were camping in Oregon. Google maps says it's about .8 mile across so a little more than 1.5 miles. Very algae-filled and hard to stay on course without a line to follow. Was a lot of fun and friends came along on stand up paddleboards to keep me from getting run over by boats.

    No swim today. Lane swim Pool time was taken over by the local Tri-Athlon.
    With my Torn Calf muscle keeping me from putting in the Training ( Running and Biking ) I Volunteered as Traffic Control for our local Tri-Athlon. A little frustrating as pre-injury I would have been in a competition with my friend Paul for the 1st/2nd AG placing :( .
    Since I can still feel a little tenderness after swimming (if doing the Whip kick breast stroke) and mid run/post run tenderness so definitely the right decision. Keep working on my slow recovery plan.

    Nope. Still not much swim action here (kiddy care, ill mum, holidays etc) which is getting frustrating but atleast I have been doing a lot of cycling.

    I cycled up our local hill - in over 30 degrees - today and was drenched in sweat afterwards.

    I certainly missed the pool then.....

    Yes!! And I hit my stride for the first time since I took up swimming 2 years ago! It was during a superman drill, and then continued. I had time for about 400y before they closed the lane for our cardio class, so I thought I'd just swim as many laps as I could (front crawl). For the first time, I was able to swim laps continuously. Usually, I am either too fast or too slow, but last night, I was swimming at a reasonable workout pace (slow), but kept going. It felt awesome. It was one of my top swims ever. For a fairly new swimmer, these are what keep me going. Of course, now they're closing my pool for maintenance, but only for two weeks. I hope I can replicate that feeling, pace, body position, etc. :)

    Fighting a nasty cold, if you can't breath you can't swim ( run). So getting a bad case of antsy no exercise jitters.

    That sucks on the pool closure. Shoulder ok in the pool but having to be careful in the gym!
