Haven't posted for a while, but I've been swimming. We successfully summited Mt. St. Helens on the 18th. The last mile is a literal slog through scree, a mixture of ash and sand. It's exactly like going up the "down" escalator, only the faster you try to do it, the less success you have. Most important, we made it down safely. Next fitness goal... Hmmm...
Last swims this week, then the pool closes for two weeks for maintenance. I have another pool I can go to, but I might get started lifting weights. It's been on the back burner for years, and my deep water cardio instructor is pushing me to just get going. He reminded me that I'll have gains in all my other areas. He's right. Why am I so resistant?? Making the time, I suppose... I don't want to give up any swimming time. I'm tinkering with my schedule, so that I can make it work two days a week.
In the meantime, 55 laps last night and then a killer class. Going back for the last class of summer tonight. Tired legs!!3 -
6.6km last night.
Tonight will be archery after work and a rest.
Saturday I'll try another push swim. Want to hit 11km. Trying something different for fueling. The long swims I needed to add carbs to my water. Or a squeeze bottle of honey.1 -

Cycling to and from Aquafit, then scuba diving later... it's mainly been/will be in water, so does that count on this thread?! 😉
(Edited spelling just in case there are any spelling police lurking 😂)2
