    Yay! Got my hour swim in earlier than planned today. The pool closes for maintenance on the 24th or 26th for two full weeks. During that time, I might try out a bodyweight/cardio class...

    In China for 7 weeks this time, until September 30.
    Getting to the gym 5 days a week to swim. Helps keep me sane. Pushing through even when it feels like a martial arts sparring class, getting kicked.
    Practicing swimming diplomacy by doing some informal coaching when other swimmers ask. It is weird for me to think that I calm actually help another swimmer improve.

    Did 1000m today but it was a random mix of breaststroke and front crawl as there were no lanes up and lots of zombified flailers swimming in zig zags

    5km in a group of pubic swim sessions with no lanes. After the first 45mins they put me a lane in which helped sooo much.
    Lost track of sets but I mainly did front crawl or hand paddles. Used alternate breaststroke laps when having a break.
    Time, around 1hr50.
    Happy happy. Now for beer and pizza.

    I feel for pain. Most pools in China are like that with no lane ropes . Got broadsided by people swimming across the pool, head butted by breast strokers not paying attention.

    Good for you for persisting.
