Got in 15 laps before I was distracted - my son and hydrophobic husband decided to swim! Then I took my "swim" to the outside pool for some fun in the sun with my family.

.Nope not today. I'm visiting my daughter in VT and am going to do a practice OW swim at Lake Dunmore. Much cooler that I'm used to but am going to give it a go anyway. No wetsuit. Let you know tomorrow how it went.

Signing in again after fantastic weekend in the Lake District - feeling extremely lucky to live close enough to visit and swim in these amazing places

Saturday, swimsuit swim pootling freestyle in Ullswater with stops to chat to my friend and cheer on swimming triathletes - she clocked it as 900m and I'm not arguing

Sunday - first 3.8km swim - delighted with finishing in 1hr 22 - I had thought anything between 1:30 and 1:45 would be good
http://www.sportsunday.co.uk/ulls-38-20317#photo - you can see just one corner of the lake and hills - I'm the lump in the HQ1 and tinted goggles!

    Excellent job Debbie.

    - today's swim, 45 mins in choppy sea off Portreath beach, Cornwall, UK. Didn't get far but did well to hold my own.

Yes....I finally got my lazy butt into the pool. I'm a terrible swimmer but managed to do 20 x 50m / 1:30. I've got a lot of work to do if I'm going to do Bring on The Bay next year (3 km swim)

    My workout this morning...
    300 warm up
    8x50 free, breathing patterns
8x50 breast stroke. 25 double kick, 25 three second glide
    200 swim. 50 free, 50 breast
    500 free.

We have three Olympic swimmers in my neighborhood. One of the gentlemen was in the lane next to me doing a workout. What a treat to watch him swim....I am in awe.

Yepper I did. I was swimming in the open water today. It was a good temperature. It was supposed to be measured for different triathalon events. Well, I took the .9 mile and was finished in 20:11!!:noway: Maybe they took down the settings. I swim at a rate that's at least twice that time for a mile. Anyway it gave me experience in OW

No swim today - taking kids to cubs and swim training
Did a mile at the tri open water session last night - bit achey today but I think that's from pushing it to get round fast and line up for their bbq, lol

Too busy to post last night, but I swam a broken 2-mile (from 11 lengths down to 1, then back up 1 to 11). 15-30 seconds rest between each except for after the first one I took time to stretch. The last couple I think I took 30-45 seconds rest since pushed 7, 8, 9 pretty hard as I was trying to maintain my pace from 4, 5, 6. Then my standard cooldown of 200 reverse medley, switching in double arm backstroke for the butterfly at the end. Felt good. I think it was just over an hour.
