    Hi Everyone!!

Thankfully tomorrow is my last day of curriculum writing, then I can regroup. So much going on in my little world!! Hoping everyone has a good weigh-in tomorrow!! I'm hoping for a loss, but this week will be 'ok' with a maintain.

Have a GREAT night, and hope to check in bright and early tomorrow!!

    Smiles...Kristine

Done it! :)) Sadly, i have recorded an slight increase 0.4lbs - as it's TOM water retention week - been under calories all week, and done lots of exercise - but sadly that's just the way my body works - boooo! It usually comes back off the following week if I just keep at it - which I plan to do - off to a double class (step & then body balance) now to make sure!

Ilove2dance: no worries, you were kicking butt this week with exercising. The scale doesn't always show it.

I'm a bit nervous to weigh in tomorrow as well, had a one bad day and it's TOM today...of all days. I'll log in tomorrow am and hope for the best.

    Good luck everyone!!

ilove2dance: IMO, +.4 lbs on water retention week is really an accomplishment! I retain A LOT that time of the month. As trudy said, you've been kickin butt! Keep at it!

I'm pretty proud of myself. I actually manged to lose 2 lbs this week! I've been losing less than a pound each week since I started (poor consistency). I have one, and only one, goal this weekend - Don't exceed 2500 cals a day! I think that's pretty reasonable with enough wiggle room for fun. Maybe I'll even get my butt to the gym once

    To maintaining momentum! :drinker:

Icoza you should be very proud of yourself, even if it's only one lb. You are doing great keep it up.

Done and done! Down 2.9! Aunt Flo visited last week so that helped for this week :)

I didn't run this morning. Tweaked something in my back so I spent the morning relaxing in the hot tub instead. Gee, the sacrifices right? :blushing:

Congrats on the engagement Icoza! If you need unsolicited wedding advice I'm here! I'm sure you're getting enough already though. :drinker:

What shall this week's get to know you/weekly challenge be? Any ideas?

    Down .5... :grumble:
Was expecting the scale to be kinder. Wonder if it is because I haven't done cardio for a week and have been solely concentrating on weights? I sure hope so because I do not want to lower my caloric intake.

Congrats to the losers on the blue team- great job this week!

Only down 0.8, so sorry that I'm not much of a contributor this week. I've been having some medical issues and my motivation last week essentially went out the window. I'm getting back on track with my diary and exercise starting today and have planned outings for every day of the week (so I'm not moping around the house while waiting for a response from my doctor).

Looked at the results this morning. We are one team member down but we still had a good week. Great job everyone.

    Congratulations blue team.

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend!!! I was happy with my loss on Friday, and I managed to weigh in....Thanks Trudy!!!

Yesterday I was in a super slug mode...I hadn't been sleeping well and just felt like I needed to sleep. FINALLY slept through the night and kept busy all day today. I ate relatively well, but didn't get in a workout. Going to meet up with a friend to get in a workout tomorrow morning!

Have a GREAT start to your week!!! My goal this week: Exercise for at least an hour every day...and stay within caloric range. (The exercise has been slacking the last two weeks!! I need to step it up!)

Hey, a loss is a loss! No matter how big or small as long as it trends in the right direction. Unfortunately, after this weekend (and 2 BBQ's later) I am back to where I started! Hopefully if I'm good for the rest of the week it will at least not show an increase by Friday.

Awesome turn out for the first week. Slow and steady wins the race! Good catch Ilovetodance on the formula error.

Exactly, as long as the scale is going down or staying the same I am happy. Have to admit a bit happier if it's going down...

This. I am just now starting to learn this. It's a difficult mindset to get into... not expecting perfection from yourself.

Hope everyone had a great start to the week. Whether regrouping from the weekend, or just going along the daily grind! I managed to get out and walk with a friend this morning, which was a great way to start off my day. We were considering playing tennis today, but the clouds kept looking a little sketchy.

I think remembering that weight loss is not just about losing, but making a lifestyle change to be a healthier person is something important to remember. Change takes time, and making the commitment to change is the first step. I have had a VERY difficult time committing to change over the last few years. I 'want' to change, but haven't followed through for long enough. I often 'throw the proverbial towel in'. I don't know WHY I do that, but I do. I stop looking at myself as important, and I know better than that.

Short term goal....FINISH these 10wks. I have a difficult time taking care of myself once the school year starts up.

Have a great evening!!! Let's SHED SOME POUNDS!!

    :) Kristine

Mid-week check in!! Hows everyone doing?

I'm retaining like CRAZY this week cuz I may or may not have had too much to drink this last weekend (:noway: ) and my body really doesn't like it when I do that. I'm drinking water like crazy. I did manage to stay under 2500 calories Sat and Sun though! So that was really awesome for me. I'm usually pretty horrible on the weekends and don't drink much water. PROGRESS is the goal here, right?

KViens - I totally know what you mean about wanting to change but not following through. I have the same problem. I want to live a healthy life full of moderation and fun, but it's hard to fix the mindset. Getting through these 10 weeks is definitely a good goal.

I hope everyone is having a great week and enjoying themselves!

Just weighed in. No change here. At least it wasn't a gain after last weekend's festivities. I will get back on it for next week! *pinky swear promise* Good luck!

Yeah change is hard. I'm trying to limit my drinking to 1-2 days a week vs having that glass of wine after work each night. We will all get our healthy habit established in due time.

Hi everyone! Two achievements 1) remembering to weigh in! And 2) lost 1.8lbs this week - so I'm back on track, and am now contributing to the team weight loss - wahey!!!!

I'm finding it harder to keep on track with weddings and christenings and bbqs - hard to record those accurately. Progress is totally the goal here! I'm finding that I'm trying not to go too overboard at events and saying no to yummy things after I've had a bit of it - I don't want to miss out, but don't want to undo the hard work. Really tricky balance. My next goal is to get the buoys to a comfortable level where I can run and not knock myself out. I want to do the zombie run app :-)

No change for me this week. I honestly can't believe it's not a gain. I'm still retaining SO badly. (My ankles, feet & legs are crazy swollen.). Hope everyone has a better week than I did!

ilove2dance - What is this zombie run app you speak of?

No gain is good, especially if you feel bloated. It will even out in the next few weeks. Keep it up.

Hi Icoza - the water retention sounds really serious - have you spoken to your doctor about it?

This is the app I'm thinking of doing. I've downloaded them both as they are on sale, but i'm thinking about starting with the 5k trainer! https://www.zombiesrungame.com Its an app on both apple and android. There is also one called the walk - but it doesn't sound as good!

Hi Trudy, don't worry enjoy, I gained last week so we will all have our turns at it. Hope you enjoy your Birthday! :)

WOOT! 16 lbs lost! We rock!!!!!

    Hows everyones week going???

I'm stuck going to the gym everyday this week to get my 12 visits in for July. If I manage to do so (3 days left!) it will be the first time EVER in the history of me going to gyms I'll actually have achieved the elusive $20 discount from my insurance. (I've never been a gym person). So that'll be awesome and I'll be super proud of myself.

ilove2dance -- I have considered going to the doctor.. but this is a pretty new thing (Well.. Since January... when I hit my heaviest weight) and only happens if I drink alcohol too many days in a row (Which, I know, sounds scary... but I'm not a heavy drinker and I have no other signs or symptoms of any sort of liver issue .. I've researched. If it gets worse, or is triggered by something else, I'll go in) As of now, I'm assuming its has to do with how rapidly I gained weight (40 lbs in 3 months.. quit smoking) and its not the only weight related issue I've noticed since "the big gain".

So what are YOU looking forward to this week??

Hope you had a good birthday!

Great job team! We may have lost one more person (bye Jenbug  ), but there are still 8 of us  ! We can do it. I have promised to get off my butt this week. No more SNOOZE button. :grumble: I was almost done with my C25K app, but since I've been neglecting my running, decided to start back up at week 5. Hopefully I can keep it going long enough to complete week 8 and run my first 5k in 20 years. (Geez...has it really been 20 years? Where did the time go?) :noway:

I tried the zombie app...well I think may have downloaded a knock off version that was free, but it seems boring and I had to look at my phone the whole time, which is distracting if you are running. I don't like things in my hands while running and tend to use a running belt I made. Is there an audio feature to what you are doing or do you have to watch the screen to run away from your zombies?

My goal this week is to try and do a light jog each morning (it helps loosen me up for the day) and be more active around the house. A clean house/yard=a leaner me. YAY! :glasses:

Good luck on your swelling. Definitely see a doctor, watch your sodium intake and drink plenty of water. Hopefully you aren't prego! (rapid weight gain and swelling??? :blushing: )
