I've been very lax in my ice cream/gelato/dessert consumption lately.
I need someone to give me an appropriate penance.0 -

You have to send us all a pint of Talenti.
Alternatively, you have to volunteer to eat all the listeria contaminated Jeni's so that it is not a risk for the rest of us.

We've been trying the new Talenti flavors here, and have so far been underwhelmed. I just tried a bite of Tiramisu and promptly spit it out into the sink, and even my coffee-loving husband said we needed to throw it out. Boo Talenti.
What?! How can this even be possible? I have special quiet moments with my spoon and the Tiramisu.0 -

I've been slacking since the ice cream festival. I've been eating all the fresh seasonal fruits and then by the time dessert time comes around after dinner I'm like... just done.
I also need to purge my freezer of the existing stuff I have in there, because I can literally not even fit an ice cube in there. I even scooped out my remaining cartons of ice cream and re-homed them into old Talenti containers. It was that desperate. lol
I think I have about 2 servings left of the Chocolate truffle ice cream I've been working on. Hopefully I can fit it in and eat it before the weekend comes around.0 -

Does it need to be full? Or can I take a few licks off the top first?
Thankfully my MIL sent over a cherry pie that she and my girls baked (they stay with her during the summer when school is out) so I am now firmly back on the dessert bandwagon.
Also picked up a pint of the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Talenti...will give that one a whirl tonight.0 -
Had Breyer's last night. It had a coupon so how could I resist? Pleasantly creamy and soft. I wish the swirls were more pronounced but other than that, really enjoyable.0

I know I don't post here much, but the group has to see the travesty that is today's MFP blog.

You know you're literally drooling over that avocado, cocoa, maple syrup concoction. Admit it. You're among friends.
Personally, I can't get over the beet ice cream recipe. It was a standard ice cream recipe, but they threw in... beets. So now it's "healthier"?
There's more sugar in 100 grams of beets than there is in 100 grams of strawberries, and strawberries are packed with vitamin C and taste better.

Have we discussed this place? Came up in another thread. They are based in Atlanta, I don't know if I've ever seen their flavors in Whole Foods but I'm sure going to look!If you happen to be in the SouthEast US (Atlanta specifically, but I'm not sure how far they reach), this little company makes fantastic ice creams and sorbets. All small batch, really good *kitten*! Their old "factory store" location was close to my place and I could pick up four pints for cheap, but they also sold through Whole Foods.
The Bourbon Burnt Sugar and Brown Butter Pecan were so good. Blood Orange Sorbet was also super good.
Some "out there" stuff too, like a Mango Chili Lime Sorbet, or a Jalapeno Sorbet (sweet, sweet pain).
