Oh god, naming everything I have? Um, let's see (after finishing my GF last night):

Talenti: Sea Salt Caramel (quart), Mediterranean Mint, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Banana Chocolate Chunk, Coconut, and Double Dark Chocolate pops
Edy's: Vanilla Bean, Red Velvet Cake, Mint Cookie, and Banana Split
Homemade brand: Cherry Cordial and Cookies & Cream (which they make with Oreos)
Ben & Jerrys: Chocolate Peppermint Crunch and Strawberry Cheesecake
    Breyers: Triple Chocolate gelato
    Graeters: Dark Chocolate Truffle gelato

Okay, now I see why I've been forbidden to buy any more (although I do have a coupon for $2 off a Haagen Dazs Artisan pint). It must look like Acrylic's picture except with some "half gallons" or whatever size they consider them now.

    Nice :)

I wasn't exactly forbidden from buying more, but Mr. Acrylics was definitely giving me the side eye any time I did. But right now he's deployed so all the ice cream are belong to me.

Well, I may have been at Kroger this morning on a mostly empty stomach (going out to dinner tonight), and I may have put a Gelato Fiasco Espresso Chip in my cart. And then I noticed in their remodeling, there is a second shelf set up for Talenti including all the new flavors, and two shelves set up for Jeni's. But I'll be good since I won't have to go so often now.

    Oooh! Which Kroger?

Englewood. None of them are in yet, but I'm sure soon. They're remodeling so everything's changing.

Nice Gelato Fiasco & Jenis! Giant needs to get these flavors.

    And apparently I won't be seeing the Jeni's for a while...money.cnn.com/2015/04/23/news/companies/jenis-ice-cream-recall/index.html

I am sad about the Jeni's recall because I was planning to get some this weekend - I really like the whiskey and pecan. But maybe I will go out on a limb and try this one I keep seeing at the store - sour cream cinnamon - it is made by a company called Ruth & Phil's - they are local I guess (Chicago based) and haven't had anything of theirs before but I see it when I shop every week and it intrigues me. That or I may just get some Steve's Bourbon vanilla and throw some pecans in. Ooh and top it with some caramel. Maybe I will just get both.

Sour cream cinnamon sounds amazing. I just got the Phin & Phebes Vanilla Cinnamon and it was very yummy considering it didn't have any mix-ins. I'm a sucker for a good cinnamon ice cream.

I love cinnamon anything - I drink cinnamon tea every morning, put it in my oatmeal to make it taste good, I even prefer cinnamon toothpaste (and go out of my way to find cinnamon dental floss). So cinnamon ice cream sounds awesome - I think it is the sour cream part that concerns me, but I think I may just go for it this weekend.

The sour cream sounds good to me too. I've got a recipe somewhere for sour cream cinnamon cake. I've never tried it but now I kind of want to.

Yeah at first blush that's a little off putting but the best gelato combo I had in Florence last summer was ricotta gelato with cinnamon gelato. I was nervous about the ricotta at first but it was amazing. Not the sweetest flavors though, but I bet the sour cream cinnamon would be similar.

So I gave this a try last night:
    00858840003060_full.jpg

Very meh. It was odd because it was clearly dispensed as a solid cut to fit the cup because it didn't come in contact with the inner edges of the container. And it was hard as a rock. The entire container. It started out as a good ginger flavor, but my taste buds quickly adjusted and then it was pretty mild (although I LOVE ginger).

It's low calorie and high protein, but sold as an individual serving (and I think it was $3-4). I doubt I'd buy again, but I could see it filling some peoples' needs. And it's great macros (160 calories and 15g protein).

I tried the Hazelnut Chocolate Chip tonight (my Kroger had it in! ) and it's pretty good! I think I'll get a better idea when I am able to wrangle in a full serving, but so far I still love Sea Salt Caramel the most.

Does anyone have any recs for the best chocolate Talenti? Or one with really good mix ins? I like the 'chips' all right, but I do love some chunky mix ins.

German chocolate cake was really good. I'm not a chocolate person so that's really the only one I've tried.

The fudge brownie was good. I personally love the chocolate peanut butter cup, but most people don't because the chocolate is so light. It has a really nice peanut butter swirl. The fudge brownie is a darker chocolate base with brownie mix-ins (obviously). I haven't had the German Chocolate because I don't like coconut but I've heard it's great if you do. The Belgian chocolate is the same base as the chocolate peanut butter cup, so again it's going to be a really mild chocolate flavor.

The saddest (or happiest?) thing about this picture is that the guy at Harris Teeter told me they're getting the new Talenti flavors tomorrow and I'll probably end up driving all the way back over there to get those too, even though I clearly have too much ice cream for my freezer as is..

    That's quite the spread!

I have room in my freezer for *maybe* one pint of ice cream. Darn Frozen veggies taking up all the room... who do they think they are...

This is why we have a full upright freezer in the basement. That, and, I buy meat in bulk often.

I checked out the ice cream aisle at Wal-Mart yesterday. They have several flavors of Talenti that I haven't seen at the local Kroger, but I ended up buying Breyers Gelato in Strawberry Truffle (which I haven't seen anywhere else before either). It's really good, a strawberry gelato with fudge swirls and some actual strawberry truffle mix-ins (though I'd like more of those!)

My Walmart had a pitiful Talenti selection. I'll have to scope out Target at some point. That Breyers sounds really good, though!

My Target at least in terms of Talenti is even more pitiful than Wal-Mart. If you have a Giant or a Shop Rite near you then I would check them out. My Giant has almost every new flavor except for Raspberry Cheesecake.

In my area Publix and Winn Dixie are the best places to find Talenti. My Publix has the Raspberry Cheesecake but none of the other new flavors. :grumble: Winn Dixie has the oatmeal cookie and the cookie dough.

Shop Rite has every flavor except Tiramisu and German Chocolate Cake. So odd that they can't all get them all? All the other stores in the area only pretty much have a few flavors, and none of the new ones.

It's Sunday and Shoprite had Talenti on sale, so I stocked up a bit. Caramel Cookie Crunch (which I think is my official favorite), Banana Chocolate Chip Swirl, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. My Shoprite seemed to have alot of 'old' flavors this week. Eggnog, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry, Mango, Raspberry, etc. Just seemed kind of weird because last week they had alot of the newer flavors, which this week they seemed to have none of.

The Target I went to yesterday had a decent number of flavors but hazulnut was on clearance! I wanted to pick it up but there was no way it would have survived the car trip.

The local Krogers had some of the newer flavors in stock and when I went last week, almost all of the cookie dough was gone. I kind of feel bad for whoever bought it but that just means more fudge brownie for me this week.

Score! Harris Teeter had all the new Talenti flavors today. I got the Coffee Toffee and the Tiramisu to try. I've got several reviews to do now-- tonight I'm doing the Gelato Fiasco Maine Blueberry Crisp and the Phin & Phebes Vanilla Cinnamon.

Okay so, I had the Phin & Phebe Vanilla Cinnamon the other night. I'm a mix-ins girl so it's not enough for me to eat alone, but it was absolutely heavenly on top of a brownie. It's a very creamy base with wonderful flavor.

    1eeefc21-d530-4299-9c1c-9734247b24a9_zpsz90mnl7h.jpg

Tonight I tried the Gelato Fiasco blueberry crisp. Sadly it doesn't hold a candle to the Jeni's brambleberry crisp because there's so little "crisp" involved. In the Jeni's the oat clusters are the star. In the GF they're too small to really notice. But it was still really yummy and I'd probably buy it again if I were a fruit ice cream lover. As it is, I might get it again if the mood strikes. I had mine on top of angel food cake with some fresh blueberries thrown in for good measure. It doesn't have that artificial taste that so many of the fruit ice creams have-- it tastes very fresh.

Random, but made a batch of Cake Batter ice-cream. Hub doesn't really care for it, he's more of a chocolate...and I can't eat it all myself. Will ask the neighbor's if they want it....

I wish I was your neighbor!
;) They loved it...and ya.....you'd be like "NO MORE IT'S NOT IN MY CALORIE BUDGE" lol Poor neighbors, they get all the extra cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and yes now even ice-cream that I make. lol.
