    Day 8: Pumpkin Spice Creamer in my coffee, 1/2 serving each pumpkin gelato and toasted almond gelato

    Day 10: Cinnamon sugar doughnut holes with maple bacon whipped cream

    Day 12: went to a Columbus day festival, one of the restaurants was serving pumpkin martinis but I couldn't do it... I am just not a big martini person. Should have taken one for the team I suppose... anyway, I had pumpkin spice creamer in my coffee and some caramel corn after dinner.
    Day 13: So excited to try the Noosa Pumpkin Yogurt - it was amazing. I wish I had graham crackers to go with it.

    October 13 - went to Trader Joe's. They were out of the oatmeal for the season. Very sad. I got the pumpkin biscotti, frosted pumpkin scone cookies, mini pumpkin pies, pumpkin Greek yogurt, pumkin waffles, and the pumpkin caramel kringle... I had a piece of the kringle. OMG SO GOOD. I'm guessing it's going to last a while considering that a serving is pretty tiny. Might have to freeze any leftovers on Wednesday.

    Good lookin' reports there people! I was away for the weekend with extended family (bunch of my cousins, their spouses, and all our kids) sharing a farmhouse and small cabins near Mendocino. Absolutely no wireless coverage except on quick trips into town a few miles away for provisions, so the omnipresent phones were, in this case, not only not omnipresent, but not really present at all. So no pics.

    But I had a lot of "coastal" fall treats including BBQ oysters, bacon-wrapped scallops, other assorted seafood, bloody mary's, etc., and the kids enjoyed pumpkin pancakes in the mornings. I personally fried up more than 6 pounds of applewood smoked bacon between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning!

    Today's treats:

    Two local flavors at Pinocchio's Ice Cream Parlor, Sanibel Island, Florida. The top is called Captiva Crunch (Captiva is the neighboring island) but as close as I can tell it's german chocolate with nuts in it. I probably wouldn't get it again but I wanted to try it as it's a specialty. The bottom flavor was called Dirty Sand Dollar and it was awesome-- brown sugar base with chocolate chunks and malt balls.

    And they have a bakery next door (Geppetto's) and I got some macarons. Chocolate, vanilla coconut, raspberry, pistachio, caramel and I forgot the last one. lol I think it might be savory-- it looks like there's herbs in it. I've never had macarons before. I tried the chocolate. It was different but I really liked it.
