Here is my girl!! Her name is Fiona!!

    Nice!

What is that on the seat post, is it a second waterbottle holder?
If so, how do you find it, can you use it while riding?
My bike has only two water bottle holders and in the summer here in Japan, I'm constantly looking for places to get water, a third or a fourth bottle holder would help with this  so I've been thinking of the "behind the seat" type of water bottle holders.

    Cheers!

Yes Stu it is. My frame is too small to hold two water bottles (I'm a little short) so I have to use the seat post one in the southern heat. It was given to me so I'm not quite sure where it was bought but it's easy to use and I can use it while riding. It actually holds two bottles.

I'm far too much of a gentleman to compare their respective ride qualities...

Thanks, I might have to get one for my Lrrb as the summers here in Tokyo are KILLER hot and humid and I have only one bottle rack.

    And she's a beauty!

    Full 105 Group?

I think that Shimano 105 is just about the best bang for the buck out there, used to be a big step between 105 and Ultegra, but they are closer now in performance, but the price of the 105 is still much lower than the Ultegra. About the only thing I would upgrade to Ultegra when the time comes, is the cassette I find the Ultegra cassettes shift nicer, and the derailer if you can swing it, but the other components, the difference between the 105 and Ultegra is not, to me, worth the extra bucks.

A very nice ride, thanks for sharing!

    Thanks! :-D

Yep it's 105 throughout! This is the second frame I've built up using the 105 groupset, it really is great value for money! I have looked in to Ultegra but really the weight savings are marginal compared to the price gain.

I may look at going compact in the future and that may well end up being Ultegra but right now I am very happy with what I have.

Thanks for your comments, safe riding!

The only two items I'd spring for from the Ultegra groupset are the derailer and the cassette, they are only slightly more money than the 105 stuff, but shift so much nicer!

    Cheers!

I'm pretty sure that we're all aware that the formula for calculating the correct number of bikes (Cb) is as follows:-

    Cb = Bn+1

where Bn=No. of Bikes Already owned...

Love those kinds of bikes they truly are the SUVs of the bicycle world, yeah they are not the fastest, or the best handling yada yada, but they can do everything well

I mean honestly, if anyone had to have only one, ONLY ONE (shudder!! :noway: ) bicycle this would be the one that most people would want/need. The other great thing about having a bike like this is that you use it all the time, and this can eventually lead to a point where you can get yourself a real road bike, that is more about putting down fast long rides, but you still have your dependable daily ride for the commute and going shopping etc. I know that if I had a super expensive snazzy ride, I'd be worried about leaving it locked up outside if I went into town to watch a movie or go for lunch, the SUV, usually they do not attract a lot of attention of the scum that are bicycle thieves.

    Cheers!
